Chapter 337 The Danger of a Crash (1)

The next day.

Joanne rarely slept until eight o'clock, but when she opened her eyes, she suddenly felt uneasy, but could not explain why.

She walked out of the bedroom with her iPad; Chris saw it and suddenly took it from her. "Didn't Dr. Tian tell you? Less contact with electronic products!"

"...I just want to see the news." That was part of Joanne's living habits. She said, "And I asked Dr. Tian, she said that it would be fine to use it for a little while."

Chris still threw the iPad to the lower level of the coffee table. "It's going to be the New Year. What good news are there? Come over for breakfast, Aunt Nyla made baozi."

Intuition told Joanne that had to be some news that Chris did not want her to see.

Thinking about it again, last night, didn't Chris seem to have something to tell her?

At that time, he had just returned from Lambert Group' annual meeting. What he wanted to say... should it be related to Brian?

Joanne ate breakfast. At the end, when Chris handled the matter in the study room, she took out the iPad and opened a news website. The headline news was like a bomb that was suddenly detonated, and her mind was blank.

-Brian spent the night with Rosalyn at the apartment, the relationship was true.

According to the report, Rosalyn attended the Lambert Group' annual meeting as a female companion of Brian the previous evening. They both left before the annual meeting was over. The reporter photographed Brian's assistant sending them back to Brian's apartment in the city center. Three people went upstairs together.

After more than half an hour, Brian's assistant left the apartment, but the reporter waited to see Rosalyn leave until four in the morning.

What happened between Rosalyn and Brian, it was self-evident, and it was full of cheering in the comment area of the article.

Joanne's iPad fell to the carpet, she stiffly maintained the action of holding the iPad, and the eyes looked hollow.

When she left Brian, she had already thought of that possibility.

But when that happened, she found that she was not so generous. She couldn't accept that Brian hugged and kissed other women. When thinking about the picture, she felt that there was a beast in her body, squatting and smashing out.

She was so close to rush out and find Brian.

But after thinking about it, things had already happened. If she went, she would just throw all efforts away.

Joanne collapsed on the sofa, as if all the strength her body had been taken away. From time to time, she blinked hard and tried to force back the tears that were about to fall down.

Chris handled things and went out from the study, then saw Joanne like that. He immediately understood that Joanne already knew.

The day before, he watched Rosalyn and Brian leave together. After he returned, he hesitated and decided not to tell Joanne because he was afraid that she would feel sad.

But the media made it such a huge affair, how could the news escape from her eyes?

Chris walked over, then picked up the iPad and handed it to Joanne. "Maybe the truth of the matter is not like this. The media is very good at catching things from the shadows, you should know that."

Joanne shook her head. She said, "In order to avoid suspicion, in order not to let Rosalyn misunderstand, he never personally sent Rosalyn to go home, all was done by the driver, not to mention bringing Rosalyn back to his home. What happened last night only proved that he really accepted Rosalyn."

"Joanne, if you can't accept it, I can..."

Chris originally wanted to say that he could go to Brian, but before he finished it, Joanne suddenly covered her mouth and rushed to the bathroom, and threw out all the things she had eaten in the morning. Her face that had finally recovered a ruddy complexion quickly became pale as paper again.

On the following day, Joanne vomited almost every two hours. Except for drinking water, nothing could be eaten. At the end, there was only bitter water left.

At dinner, Aunt Nyla prepared a lean meat porridge and served it to Joanne in her room. She shook her head. "Aunt Nyla, I don't want to eat."

"But how can you do that?" Aunt Nyla caressed the hair in front of Joanne's forehead with distress and said, "You have to think about the children in your belly."

After throwing up for a whole day, not only the stomach, but even the throat was very uncomfortable; swallowing was extremely difficult for Joanne.

But what Aunt Nyla said was right. She gritted her teeth and drank half a bowl of porridge. She didn't dare to lie down, so she took a few pillows and leaned against the bed. She didn't want to say a word because of fatigue.

Aunt Nyla poured a cup of warm water and put it on the bedside table,"Drink it from time to time. You have been throwing up for a day and need water."

Joanne nodded, and took a shallow sip, slowly swallowing. Despite being careful, the stomach began to turn over, and the porridge was still spitted out with water.

Chris looked at that and he thought it would not be fine. He helped Joanne to get up. "Aunt Nyla, help Joanne with her coat, I will send her to the hospital."

When they arrived at the hospital, it was still Dr. Tian.

"Twins are rare, but such a serious morning sickness is even rarer," Dr. Tian was helpless and continued, "Get some injection to put on some physical strength and nutrition, to see if the situation will be better tomorrow. If it is more serious, then we will talk about it then."

Joanne lived in the hospital like that. She didn't know if it was because of the injection or because she was too tired. She was sleepy.

Before going to sleep, she vaguely told Chris, "Brother, go back. Freya will come back tomorrow, think about how to solve your problems."

Chris sat on the side of the hospital bed, constantly using a cotton swab to wet Joanne's lips. "Don't think about my things, go to sleep. You will feel better when you fall asleep."

Not long after, Joanne was tired and fell asleep.

However, she didn't sleep well. She was dreaming all night, dreaming of the horrible face of Rowdy, or Brian and Rosalyn being together.

If it was before, she might accept the fact that Brian and Rosalyn were together.

But at the moment, Rosalyn and Rowdy were cooperating. According Rowdy's cruel means, he would definitely use Rosalyn to deal with Brian.

"Don't..." Joanne made a nightmare-like voice, then suddenly woke up. "Don't!"

Chris, who was sleeping on the sofa, heard the movement, and almost woke up in a second. Right away, he was already by the side of Joanne's bed.

"Brother," Joanne seized Chris's hand and said, "There is one thing, you need to find a way to let Brian know."

After listening to it, Chris only thought that Joanne had to be muddled because of sleep.

He and Rosalyn had never met, not to mention Rowdy. The secret thing that Rowdy and Rosalyn were in cooperation, how could he know?

Brian had always suspected that Joanne was hiding something. Maybe he had already thought of Rosalyn, but he had not been able to find evidence.

If he just rushed to tell Brian such a big secret, unless Brian went dumb, it was otherwise impossible for him to not associate it with Joanne.

Once Brian started to investigate Rowdy, the things concealed by Joanne would be exposed one by one.

From the overall situation, Brian had not found a way to bring down Rowdy. Now it was not appropriate for him to know it.

But from a private point of view, Chris hoped that Brian knew that because he thought that Joanne should not suffer that torture and suffering alone; Brian should be with her.

Chris covered Joanne with a quilt. "Don't worry, I will find a way to tell Brian to be wary of Rosalyn."

Joanne nodded and lay down for a while. She felt less discomfort than the day before. She got up, washed and ate the breakfast that Aunt Nyla had sent.

Chris was afraid that Joanne would vomit. So he skipped breakfast altogether and watched the whole process of Joanne having breakfast nervously. He felt like he had made a big cooperation and took a long sigh of relief.

Joanne looked at the calendar; soon it would be New Year's Eve. She looked at Chris with pity and said, "Talk to Dr. Tian. Let me go out, let's go home for the New Year!"

"No," Chris refused without thinking, "Dr. Tian asked you to stay in observation for one more day and stay another night."

Those days, Joanne had almost gotten a phobia since she had been to the hospital so frequently. After being rejected by Chris ruthlessly, her mood instantly fell into the bottom of the valley, lying down on the bed.

Chris was not soft to her at all; the biggest tolerance was to allow Joanne to use the iPad to watch movies wearing anti-radiation protection.

When it was around ten o'clock, Chris received a call from Assistant Jack, "Miss Freya has boarded the plane and will arrive in Arlington four hours from now."

Chris looked at the blue sky outside the window, and suddenly fell into silence.

It had been three months since the day Freya had left.

Three months; it didn't seem to be very long. But for him, that period of time was as long as three centuries.

After a while, Chris finally found his voice. "I see."

Joanne was bored playing small games on the iPad. Seeing the serious face on Chris, she immediately thought of something. "Will Freya come back?"

"She's already on the plane."

Joanne smiled and said, "If you have something to do, just go, I can be alone! If you don't feel relieved, there are nurses and Aunt Nyla!"

How could Chris not know what Joanne was thinking, but it was not appropriate for him to pick her up. "The company has already taken its annual leave, what can I do? You just lie down; I will ask Dr. Tian."

Not long after, Chris returned with Dr. Tian to have her checked. The result was fine. If the situation was still as good in the afternoon and evening, Joanne could be discharged in the following morning.

Finally, Dr. Tian told Joanne, "Don't think about anything. You are a mother now; nothing is more important than the children in your belly."

Joanne nodded. "I know, thank you, Dr. Tian."

All morning, Joanne was in a very good state. After eating lunch, she said that she was sleepy. Chris then closed the curtains to let her sleep. Maybe she didn't have a good rest the previous night; she fell asleep less than five minutes.

Everything seemed to be very good, until Chris received a call from Jack again.

"Boss Scott, the airport sent a message, Miss Freya's flight encountered air currents, there is..." speaking of that, Jack suddenly stopped.

Chris rushed out of the ward. "What is it!?"

In fact, he guessed the answer, roaring, just because he didn't want Jack to say the words.

But Jack still said, "...Miss Norris's flight is in danger of crashing."
