Chapter 341 A Lifetime to Answer

The next day was the last day of the lunar year, New Year's Eve.

She didn't know whether it was because of the festival or not, but Joanne had been in good condition all day and had not vomited from morning until night.

After supper, she hurried Chris to go home.

Last night's incident was still fresh in Chris's memory. He refused to accept it. Instead, he said, "I will be here with you in the evening from now on."

"Let's talk about the future later!" Joanne pushed Chris hard. "Aren't you busy tomorrow? Go home and have a good rest, keep your spirits up, and you will get twice the result with half the effort tomorrow!"

Chris smiled helplessly. "How do you know that I have something tomorrow?"

Joanne snorted, "I always know!"

In other words, she always knew what Chris was going to do.

In the end, Chris still failed to argue with Joanne and was forced home by her.

While welcoming the New Year, the traffic on the road was heavy and fireworks bloomed one by one in the night sky. The streets and alleys of the city presented a lively scene.

Back at home, opening the door, changing shoes, entering the room... This series of actions in Chris's life had become a mechanical process. He turned to go down the hall, and when he was about to turn on the chandelier of the sitting room, suddenly he caught sight of a familiar figure on the sofa in the sitting room.

Chris squinted his eyes and suspected that he was hallucinating.

When Freya had just left, he often had this illusion. He always felt that Freya was still at home and he could even hear her voice.

However, following the sound, he could only see the cold furniture lying there silently.

Just like when he woke up in the morning, he habitually wanted to hold the person next to him, but what he touched was always the cool air.

This time, it should also be an illusion.

But it was also the most real illusion in history. He did not dare to move or turn on the light, for fear that once the living room was illuminated, Freya's figure would disappear.

Freya had already waited long enough!

After she pissed off Chris yesterday, she decided to come to him on her own initiative today.

So she ran out of the house in the name of accompanying Joanne to surprise Chris, but what did he mean by standing there motionless?

Looked carefully, Freya discovered that Chris's face was full of shock.

Perhaps... Chris was shocked by her surprise.

Freya stood up from the sofa and said softly, "Chris, I'm back."

This sound completely awakened Chris.

It was not an illusion. Freya was really standing there. She was willing to return to him.

Chris did not know how she got there. When he really felt the temperature of Freya, he wanted to embed her into his body.

Freya was caught off guard by Chris's tight hold. She only felt that she was suffocating and was about to struggle when Chris suddenly boosted his strength. She felt the sharp ups and downs of his chest.

Was it excitement?

Well, she couldn't imagine what Chris looked like when he got excited.

He didn't know how long it took, but Chris regained his voice. "Didn't you tell others last night that you didn't know me?"

"Can't you just forget what happened last night? I'm just surprised that you would appear in 'Blue Jazz'. I didn't know how to face you, but I came to you on my own initiative today!" Freya's voice lowered. "Chris, I almost died the day I came back."

"Don't be silly," he said. However, Chris unconsciously held Freya tighter. "There is little chance that a plane would have an accident when encountering turbulence."

"How do you know?" Freya was going to scare Chris with this, but he clearly knew better than she did.

Chris said slowly, "I also knew that your ticket was booked half a month ago."

Freya thought for a moment and instantly understood everything. She almost jumped. "You investigated my whereabouts! Chris, I was out to relax. My having fun was precisely disappearing. Why did you investigate my whereabouts? And you knew everything! ! !"

"If it weren't for me, do you think the passport you lost in Turkey would have been recovered so quickly?"

"..." Freya immediately became soulless.

She had never been a careful person. Without Joanne, she often lost things. Two months ago, she accidentally lost all her documents in Turkey and was almost detained by the local police.

Finally, it was a young Chinese guy who brought her wallet so that she could be released after she proved her identity.

However, she could not ask anything from the man who saved her. He only said that he had seen her yesterday and was very impressed by her. Unexpectedly, he found her wallet in the street today so he brought it to the police station, hoping to give it back to her.

Freya, who had been hit on numerous times, thought at that time that he was asking her out.

The result was that before she could think of a way to thank him, he had already left politely and did not even want her phone number, over which she was upset for several days.

Now she didn't need to be upset, he was one of Chris's men!

Freya angrily sat back on the sofa and ordered Chris, "Turn on the light, let's talk!"

This time, Chris listened to Freya. They really needed to talk.

However, he did not expect Freya to come to him voluntarily.

According to his plan, he should take some things to the Norris Family's house tomorrow to pay a New Year's visit, and naturally meet Freya there and find another opportunity to talk to her about their affairs.

The chandelier of the sitting room was lit up, the large sitting room was illuminated, and Freya's figure was no longer vague.

Freya had been gone for three months. As Joanne said, there was not much change. She just cut her hair short and her skin was not as white as when she left. However, it did not affect her beauty in any way.

Freya also looked at Chris and said, "Where did you get the dark circles under your eyes?" Although it was not serious, it made Chris look tired.

Chris pressed his temples. "I stayed with Joanne in the hospital last night and didn't have a good rest."

Freya touched her hair. "Why are you not surprised that I cut my hair?" In the past, her most precious thing on her whole body was her long hair.

"I saw it the day before yesterday," said Chris while being not surprised.

Freya stared wide-eyed-"Chris went to the airport the day before yesterday?

"Was he worried when he found out that my flight was in danger of crashing?"

Freya didn't allow her to think about it anymore. She turned around and said, "Don't think I will be moved."

After a pause, Freya continued, "However, you should thank the airflow from the day before yesterday. After three months of running around outside, I only started understand why you were hiding that thing about Maya from me. When I decided to come back, I didn't know how to face you, and I didn't know if I should ever see you again.

"When the stewardess brought me a pen and paper to write a suicide note, I suddenly felt unable to accept it. I didn't want to die like that. I still have a long time to live. I would come back and tell you personally that I don't blame you. I also want to... be with you. Oh, don't get me wrong, I just can't see you with other women.

"Later, the stewardess said that there were only 15 minutes left, and many adults and children in the cabin were crying. The feeling of waiting for death was the most horrible thing. It was also at that moment that I regretted... regretted why I didn't want to come back sooner. If I died like that, you would soon forget me and be with others..."

"Freya." Chris interrupted Freya's long speech.

"What?" Freya looked at him angrily. "I was just talking about the emotional part, you..."

Chris kissed her lips firmly, blocking all the words she was going to use to stir up feelings.

He knew what Freya was going to say.

The long-stored thoughts finally found a vent. Chris almost made a determined effort to kiss Freya, but before long, his kiss suddenly became gentle, like silk winding slowly around the heart of people, making them spellbound.

The moment he pushed her down on the sofa, Freya suddenly came to her senses and pushed him away. "Chris, I haven't finished yet!"

"Say it now," Chris said while kissing her.

"I just want to tell you that if I really died yesterday and you were with another woman soon, I would not let you go even if I were a ghost!" Freya looked serious.

Chris raised her leg. "You can't let me go right now."

"Pop!" The sound of a cluster of fireworks in full bloom in the night sky was heard. The light projected onto the glass door of the balcony and into the living room, making the room even brighter.

When the fireworks were gone, it was already past two o'clock in the morning. Freya was leaning on Chris's arms as he hugged her. "Freya, answer a question for me."

Freya faintly answered, "OK."

"Why did you forgive me so quickly?" Chris said, "You knew that this time when you came back, no matter what you asked, I would promise." He was also ready for a protracted war of resistance.

"I don't want to waste any more time," Freya said. "You wasted 10 years and I wasted three months. As a result, I almost crashed. At that time, I thought, if I died, I would never have a chance. Even if I repented, it would be useless. Plus yesterday, didn't I piss you off? When I got back, I decided to come to you today and make it clear to you that I don't want to delay anymore."

Chris did not speak for a long time.

Freya suddenly felt uncertain and asked in fear while trembling, "Chris, am I cheap when I was taking the initiative? I should hold off on it and wait for you to find me and apologize to me before reluctantly forgiving you, shouldn't I?"

"You want to know the answer?"

Freya nodded. "Yes!"

"Before I tell you the answer, you answer a question of mine."

"Say it!"

"What did you tell your parents when you went out? That you were going to accompany Joanne?"

"How did you know?" Freya couldn't help kissing Chris. "So clever!"

Chris smiled. "The smartest person is you."

He seldom showed this kind of praise to her with a spoiled smile. Freya did not know why she suddenly had a bad feeling. "Why do you say that?"

"Since you said you were here to accompany Joanne, then I don't have to take you home."

Without needing to take Freya home, he could do what he wanted to do.

Freya widened her eyes and finally knew what Chris was up to. She covered her lips that he was about to kiss. "You haven't answered my question yet!"

"That question?"

Chris took Freya's hand away, and kissed on her palm, without meaning to answer the question.

As a famous person said, the answer was too long, he needed a lifetime to answer.
