Chapter 366 Brian's Way

After dinner, Joanne received a phone call from Gavin.

"I've already found Miss Moore's mobile phone. Don't worry, she's fine."

"Thank you." After a pause, Joanne suddenly remembered and asked, "Right, what was in her previous mobile phone?"

"According to the police who accepted her case, it was a picture of her and her grandmother," Gavin smiled, "I had no idea that she would cry for a photo at the police station."

"I heard from my brother that Wendy was brought up by her grandmother. Before she came to Arlington, her grandmother suddenly passed away. It might be the last photo of them together, which is more important to her than anything else."

...

Gavin was an orphan. He stayed at an orphanage in the United States before he was 18 years old. He only knew what it felt like to be abandoned. He had never understood the feelings and connections between loved ones.

As for Wendy's tears, he couldn't understand them even after knowing. So he could only hang up the phone.

Gavin had never been so rude, ending the conversation without a word. Joanne was thinking about whether there was a problem with the communication network, and she saw Brian dressed neatly, coming down from upstairs with the coat on his arm.

She curiously asked, "Are you going out?"

"To run some errands," Brian circled Joanne's waist with one arm and kissed her eyebrows. He said, "Wait for me at home."

Joanne subconsciously grabbed Brian's clothes. "When are you coming back?"

Brian said, "Soon. I will definitely come back before you go to sleep."

That day was the weekend; according to Brian's tone, it was not like he was going to socialize. Joanne sensed something and uneasily asked, "Are you going to find Rowdy?"

Brian mysteriously raised his lips. "That is correct, I'm going to find some trouble for Rowdy."

Looking at him being so casual about it, the uneasiness in Joanne's heart gradually dissipated. "Are you sure that there will be no danger?"

"People who should be worried about danger are criminals like Rowdy," Brian rubbed Joanne's face and said, "We will never be in danger."

Joanne tiptoed and kissed Brian's lips. "I'll wait for you to come back."

She sent Brian out and saw that the driver was Winston. She was a bit confused. "Is Gavin not going with you?"

"He's waiting for me in the downtown area." Brian held Joanne's waist tighter. "How come you're suddenly mentioning him?"

"I just called him." Joanne roughly told him what she talked on the phone with Gavin. "The phone was suddenly hung up. Is there anything wrong with Gavin?"

After a long time, Brian sighed and revealed, "Gavin is an orphan."

"..." Every word Joanne could understand, but she felt it was unbelievable, when those words were connected into a sentence.

For a long time, Joanne could only spit out a sentence, "How is that possible?"

Brian looked at the time. "I'll come back and tell you in detail, now go back with Martha."

Joanne nodded slowly and followed Martha to the house.

Until he couldn't see Joanne's figure, Brian got on the car and told Winston, Let's go.

An hour later, the car was parked in the most famous bar street in Arlington.

Unlike some petty-bourgeois bar streets, that bar street was full of enthusiasm. The people who went there didn't hide their purpose; hunting, drinking and talking... some of the bolder moves in the usual way, all would be forgiven on that street.

Gavin arrived five minutes before them. He approached the vehicle and opened the door for Brian. "Mike and his men are already inside."

Brian's eyes flashed with some sharpness. Let's go in.

The bar manager led the way; Brian and Gavin soon arrived at front of the private room opened by Mike.

The few foreigners inside all looked hard to mess with, but the two people in front of them were even more irritated though they looked polite, but the manager's hand was a little trembling. "Do you want to knock on the door?"

Gavin smiled and said, "Why?"

When he just finished, the door was kicked open by Gavin.

The manager trembled with chills. Gavin inserted a small stack of cash into his jacket pocket. "Rest assured, even if something happens, it's none of your business. You can leave now."

The manager ran away, Gavin stepped into the private room and looked at the girl who was so surprised that she shrank on the sofa. He told her, "You can also go."

The four foreign men in the private room were the guests, and the girls didn't know what to do at the moment; they just looked at each other.

At that time, Mike's henchmen were angry.

In the Glasgow, they were disturbed by Wesley and they let it go, after all, it was not wise to provoke Wesley in Glasgow.

When they arrived in Arlington, they were also interrupted by someone they didn't know. At the moment they would not bear it either.

"Bam-". A man broke a bottle, the girls screamed. He held the bottle and pointed to Gavin. "Who the fuck are you?"

Gavin was not angry; he just shrugged his shoulders at the girls. "If you don't leave, what you'll see next is going to be blood."

The girls were so scared that their faces were pale, screaming and escaping from the private room. The three men working for Mike stood up next to the table, and pointed fiercely at Gavin. "Who sent you? What the hell are you doing?"

"Mike." Gavin ignored the anger of those men, and looked straight at Mike. "My boss wants to talk to you."

"Who's your boss?"

After Mike finished, Brian stepped into the private room.

Unlike the muscle men in the private rooms wearing military pants and warm jackets, Brian had a well-fitted suit, a good-quality jacket, and the shoes were spotless. The whole person seemed to be extremely unfit to this situation. He should sit in the western restaurant, and cut the steak while listening to a piano melody.

Mike's henchmen laughed and the man pointing at Gavin with a bottle sneered, What's to talk about with a man who wrote Im successful in my career on his face but is actually vulnerable?

Gavin had a bottom line. He closed the door of the private room, smiled and walked to the man who had just spoken. He hurled a punch and the man screamed; a nosebleed suddenly came out.

He took a piece of tissue and handled it as if nothing happened; the man then clenched his hand and tried to fight back. He ducked with agility.

Of course, the other party was not happy about it. When they were about to rush out and scramble with Gavin, Mike suddenly shouted, "Stop!"

Mike had begun to stare at Brian ever since he entered. In the eyes of others, Brian might just have a handsome appearance and was actually vulnerable. But he didn't think so. He saw a hidden king on that man.

Intuition told Mike that such man might be an elegant gentleman, but in some cases, he was even more extreme than Rowdy, even colder and more decisive.

Mike gestured to Brian to sit. "If you dare to come to me, you know who I am. Say, what do you want to say to me?"

"Stop cooperating with Rowdy." Brian was straightforward as he continued, "Now go back to G City to find Wesley; you still have a chance to make this deal."

Mike first was stunned and smiled. "It seems that you know my situation very well. Do you know that Wesley has offended me?"

Brian hooked his lips and presented a fake smile, "Compared with the business that brought you huge profits, the grudge between you and Wesley is not worth mentioning."

What do you want to say? Mike lost his patience and stared at Brian. Your assistant is very good, but we have four people. If I want to teach you some lesson, you won't have any advantage.

"My wife is waiting for me to go home. I'm not interested in fighting with you." Brian threw a document in front of Mike and said, "Rowdy is a murderer. Even if the police in Arlington do not investigate him, I will send him to prison. So I advise you to go back to G City and cooperate with Wesley."

Mike suddenly realized something. He looked at Gavin, then stared at Brian and said, "What is your relationship with Wesley?"

He had heard a lot of rumors about Wesley. It was said that Wesley was very young, but was already such a big-shot in G City. He was not alone; he must have fairly capable allies secretly.

That statement had never been proven, and there were no friends of the same level around Wesley. Over time, that statement had been regarded as a rumor.

But if someone right then told Mike that the man in front of him was as good as Wesley, he would have no doubt about it.

Because there was one thing in common for the true kings, that no matter where they went, no matter if that place matched the temperament emanated from them, that place would be stepped on by their feet.

They dominated wherever they were.

Brian had expected Mike to be suspicious before he went to him, but only gave an ambiguous answer,"We have known each other for a long time."

"That is to say, you are friends?" Mike tentatively said, "What you said just now, I totally have the right to doubt that you are only trying to help Wesley to restore our cooperation, so you are threatening me."

"I do want to help Wesley, but-" Brian smiled, but no one could understand what was hidden under his smile, "I wouldn't intimidate someone like this."

"Really?" Mike spread his hands and said, "Let me see how you threaten people."

No one could clearly see Brian's movement, but it was only one second. The fruit knife on the table was held in his hand, and he pointed the blade at Mike's throat. Mike did not respond at all, but only heard Brian say, "I like to threaten people this way."

Mike smiled reluctantly, pushing Brian's hand to look at him again. "I can't see it."

Brian threw the knife back to the coffee table and wiped his hands. "You better listen to me, don't force me to use my way."

After that, he took Gavin out of the private room.

When they were at the parking lot, Gavin moved his fingers. "damn, that guy's bones are too strong."

Brian glanced around, and there was a bar next to them, asking Gavin. "Want to go in for a drink?"

"Your wife is pregnant, you can't drink," Gavin thought for a moment, then immediately asked, "Joanne told you?"

...

"I'm okay." Gavin smiled and got into the car. "You go back early. I know you can't wait to head back."

As soon as he finished, the car was started, and the yellow sports car roared and disappeared into the night...
