Chapter 375 Patrimonial Name

An hour later, Joanne did all the checkups and got the report.

After reading the report, Dr. Hans smiled and held up his glasses. "Both babies are developing very well." He pointed to the black-and-white photos in the report. "You see, they have grown a lot compared to what last month's report showed."

Joanne's hand caressed her belly unconsciously.

Maybe it was from the subtle connection of blood that she could sense that the children in her stomach were growing. But clearly seeing it from the contrast of the photos was an entirely different feeling.

She tilted her head to look at Brian. He looked at the pictures of the two little guys more seriously than how he looked at documents, and his eyes were soft.

Joanne suddenly felt that even if Brian had no experience, he would be a good father after the babies were born.

That was because he loved these two children.

After looking at it for a while, Brian looked away from the baby's picture. "Dr. Hans, how is my wife?"

Dr. Hans was slightly surprised.

He had heard countless times from colleagues in the hospital that Brian was so fond of Joanne, which made people all very jealous.

But this was the first time he had personally felt that Brian was better to Joanne than what others had said. Even being immersed in the joy of his children's healthy growth, he would not forget Joanne. For him, the most important matter was Joanne's health.

Dr. Hans smiled heartily and asked Joanne, "Is the recent morning sickness less severe?"

Joanne nodded. "This week has been very good, but I occasionally vomit, though it's not uncomfortable."

"Occasionally vomiting once in a while is a normal reaction. Don't worry. From the examination, your physical condition is much better than last time." Dr. Hans signaled Brian to rest assured. "The severe morning sickness will not repeat if attention is paid to the diet and a good mood is kept, then the babies will grow up healthily."

When leaving the hospital, Brian's mood was obviously much better than usual, and he even began to think of a name for the babies.

He put out several names; some were boy's and some were girl's. But before Joanne had time to comment, he had denied it first, saying, "Not good enough."

Joanne pursed her lips. "How good should it be?"

Brian said without hesitation, "Of course, the best in the world."

He was not kidding. Of course, his son and daughter must have the most beautiful names in the world.

"..." Joanne was speechless. Everyone had a name, and they had it for the rest of their life, so how could you tell which one was the best?

At the same time, Joanne felt strange. "Why do you propose the names of boys and girls? What if it is two boys or two girls, then there will be one that doesn't have a name."

Brian paused, then suddenly smiled. "I feel like they are a boy and a girl." There was tenderness in his voice that he had never even noticed.

Joanne was amused. "Even the doctor can't see it now, but you actually feel it. Is this a woman's sixth sense that people have been talking about?"

Brian knew that Joanne was deliberately teasing him, and he could not explain what was going on.

But the moment he saw the picture of the two little guys, he did have this feeling-they were his son and his daughter.

Back at Prime Villas, as soon as Brian and Joanne got out of the car, Simon came out. "Young Master, Young Madam, the old lady is here."

Since Joanne became pregnant, Iris had come to see her from time to time, so it was no surprise. But Simon intentionally came out and told them, which only showed that there was something else afoot.

Sure enough, Simon went on to say, "The old lady brought a thick dictionary with her, and some books like The Book of Songs."

Joanne and Brian glanced at each other, feeling that Iris was worrying about the same thing as them. When they entered the house, they saw Iris sitting on the sofa, wearing a pair of glasses, and reading a thick dictionary, which was placed on her leg.

Iris beckoned to Joanne and Brian. "Come on, I just found a particularly good name!"

Sure enough...

Brian led Joanne over and Iris handed them a note with the words on it: Lu Kaifeng.

"Lu Kaifeng, taken from 'Kaifeng' in The Book of Songs." Iris smiled, obviously very satisfied with the name, but still did not forget to consult the prospective parents. "What do you think?"

"Mom," Brian took the thick dictionary from Iris's legs, "the expected date of delivery is in October, so you can take your time to think of the names."

"The names will accompany my grandson and granddaughter throughout their life. They must be carefully considered. It is not too soon to start deciding!" Iris smiled mysteriously, then said, "I have already thought of a girl's name-Lu Xinyi. If it's a girl, you must use this name, I thought about it 31 years ago!"

Compared with the name, Joanne was more interested in the year she just said regarding the name, and she looked at Brian. "Mom, did you intend to use this name for Brian at that time?" 31 years ago happened to be when Brian was born.

Iris nodded. "Yeah, I like girls. When I was pregnant, I thought it would be a beautiful girl. I took a dozen good names, and finally picked Lu Xinyi. Who knew that it was a little boy? I still called him Xinyi for several days."

"Hmm..." Joanne laughed even though Brian's face had turned gloomy. "If it's a girl, we must call her Xinyi! When she grows up, we can tell her that it is the patrimonial name that her dad used!"

"..." At this time, Brian's face went completely black.

After finalizing her granddaughter's name, Iris was satisfied. "Well, you think of the name for the little boy, I will not meddle in it." She paused then said, "Lu Kaifeng still can't work, it doesn't sound grand enough."

Joanne thought that the name of a boy had to be splendid, and at the same time, make people feel that he was handsome when they heard it!

Like Brian's name!

After lunch, Iris went with her friends to play mahjong. Brian remotely handled some things of the foreign companies. Only Joanne had nothing to do while sitting on the sofa and playing with her mobile phone.

She now used the new cell phone that Brian exchanged for her, which was the same brand as before, but just changed to the latest model. She couldn't see any difference on the surface.

But if there wasn't anything strange, why should Brian help her change her phone?

Suspicious, Joanne found a photo in an encrypted folder of the phone and restored it to the desktop.

Brian went downstairs and saw that photo... They were kissing in front of the Eiffel Tower. While in the hospital, Joanne deleted it in his presence without hesitation.

He sat next to Joanne with a puzzled expression on his face that was rarely seen. "You restored the photo again?"

"How can I restore photos deleted from my phone?" Joanne shook her phone and smiled smugly. "I had it backed up long ago!"

She deleted it so decisively at the beginning that Brian thought she was really not nostalgic at all. He never thought she had already backed it up.

Brian had lived for more than 30years, and there were indeed some people who had tried to lie to him, but he could often see through them at a glance.

He could only be deceived by Joanne, and not only had he not noticed anything but he did not even suspect her.

Brian pulled Joanne to sit on his lap, then circled her waist with his hands from behind. "In this life, I have fallen for you." So helpless, but so sweet.

Joanne smiled and touched Brian's head. "I love you."

Therefore, there was no reason to worry about falling for her, as she would never hurt the person she loved, just like Brian would never suspect her.

Brian's heart seemed to be gradually filled with something, showing warmth, and with a thought, he bowed his head to kiss Joanne's lips.

On this early spring afternoon, the sunshine made people feel lazy, and Joanne was also lazy. She relied on Brian's arms until he let go of her as she said, "I'm sleepy."

Brian took Joanne back to the room. She hugged the quilt and slept peacefully.

Brian kissed her forehead lightly then went downstairs.

Gavin had just arrived.

Special Assistant Gavin threw himself on the sofa, and set his long legs on the coffee table. "I just came back from Tory."

Brian sat on the sofa next to him and asked, "How are they?"

"Living in such a good place, there are people who send food and drink every day. It's impossible not to be satisfied." Gavin plucked a red grape and threw it into his mouth. "Tory's wife told me today that she wanted to come and personally say thank you to Joanne. I refused her. This matter is not urgent. The most important thing now is to prevent them from being discovered by Rowdy. We cannot take any chances."

"How about Tory?" Brian was worried that Tory would chicken out because he was afraid of Rowdy. In this way, they would give up everything.

"Tory followed Peter when he was young, and he was considered to have done great things. Now he is in a good state. Every time I go, he asks me when I need him to go to the police station."

Tory was so impatient, which was out of Brian's expectation, so he asked him, "How did you answer?"

"I told him that the time had not yet come," Gavin said. "So many years have passed by concerning this case. At that time, Tory took full responsibility in a very cooperative way. If we cannot find conclusive evidence to convict Rowdy, Tory's words would not only not be enough to arrest Rowdy, but would also expose Tory. Listening to what I said, Tory was much calmer, and asked me to tell you to watch out for Rowdy, saying that Rowdy always does something that you could not anticipate."

Brian remembered the fact that Rowdy arranged an undercover agent. Indeed, if it wasn't for Wesley finding something strange, they would never have suspected Yuna of being the undercover agent.

He told Gavin about the undercover agent. For half a minute, Gavin was in a petrified state.

After returning to himself, Gavin couldn't help cursing. "If Joanne found out about it, would she collapse?"

Brian replied, "So, try to hide it from her."

"How?" Gavin couldn't bear to imagine it. "According to Wesley's character, Yuna will die terribly!"

"No," Brian said in a profound way, "Yuna is different from others to Wesley."

Wesley did hate deception, and those who deceived him never ended well.

However, to deal with Yuna, he also had to be tough-hearted.

Gavin was full of confusion. "Why is Yuna different to Wesley?"

"Er, which part of the structure is different?"
