In the later period of her pregnancy, Joanne became more and more drowsy.
However, she didn't know why she had often been awakened at night if Brian hadn't returned home.
Just like that moment, when she felt a change around her, she opened her eyes almost subconsciously and saw Brian lying down.
Brian had tried his best not to make any noises. He found that Joanne was awake, so he asked in surprise, "Did I disturb you?"
Joanne shook her head and said in a lazy voice, "No." Then she leaned into Brian's arms and said, "I can't sleep unless you come back."
Brian apologetically kissed Joanne's forehead and said, "I will come back as soon as possible in the future."
Only if he came back, Joanne would be at ease. She murmured and sank into her sweet dream within half a minute.
Brian looked at the sleeping Joanne, unconsciously turning his lips into a smile-
Iris had asked him to go home as early as possible in the evening, to reassure Joanne.
He then realized that Joanne didn't disbelieve him; she was just in no humor to care about whether he would do anything out of line.
Brian hugged Joanne tightly and soon fell asleep.
In another place under the same night sky, someone was wondering whether to enter the house or not.
Rowdy's purpose as CEO of the Scott Group was obvious-to launder his illegally obtained money and to compete with Brian's businesses.
The business world was like Brian's home field, so Wesley was not worried that Brian would lose.
What worried him was that Rowdy would continue to use inhuman methods. So he had to find out the truth about the collapse of Fontine Gardens and completely prove that Lambert Group was innocent.
And the truth might have been found out by Yuna.
He took Yuna to Arlington to deal with the matter, without having expected that he would be seen through by Brian.
"It won't work. Even if you can find someone with a similar appearance and personality as her, you know very well that it's not her," Brian said.
He thought those words over and over again, but he was anxious to prove that Brian was wrong. Then he turned back and drove toward the pub street downtown.
It was easy to pick up a woman on the pub street in a metropolis like Arlington.
He just didn't expect to leave the bar with a drunk woman in his arms and meet Yuna face to face, on his way to the hotel.
Yuna had just finished the work Wesley had told her to do. She didn't want to go back that early so she wandered about on the pub street. She didn't plan to go for a drink but saw something out of her expectation-Wesley was holding a woman around the waist and the intimate two were walking out from a bar.
From the postures and the romance between the two, it wasn't difficult to tell that their next destination was a hotel.
Yuna looked up to the sky, thinking, "I nearly became crippled because of working for Wesley, but he's enjoying his time with a sexy lady. That's really... unfair."
Wesley saw Yuna and then turned his lips into a smile. He tossed her the car key and said, "Take us to the Four Seasons Hotel."
"May I...?" Yuna wanted to decline because she didn't want to drive for the two who seemed to have lost control of their sexual desires.
However, before she could finish her words, Wesley said in a cold voice, "You can't say no."
Yuna didn't have the strength to fight against Wesley, so she had to drive his luxury car and pulled over beside him. Seeing Wesley not about to get in it, she asked in bewilderment, "Do you just want me to drive your car back to your house?"
Wesley kicked the door and said in a cold voice, "Get off and open it."
Yuna was about to explode-"Is Wesley thinking that I'm his driver?"
"Damn, just watch yourself!"
To Wesley's surprise, Yuna got out of the car and opened the door for him. She also respectfully made a "please" gesture to him.
He stared at Yuna and then gracefully asked the sexy lady to get in the car first. She kissed his cheek and said, "Thank you."
Yuna raised her chin, rolling her eyes. Then she slammed the door and sat in the driver's seat. As soon as she fastened the seat belt, she glimpsed from the rear-view mirror that Wesley was holding the lady in his arms, deeply kissing her.
"Hmm..." The smart lady touched Wesley's neck with her soft fingers and immersed her upper body in his arms with proper sexuality and allure.
Yuna was amazed. "Is she too open, or am I a nobody?"
Then she looked closely at Wesley, who was obviously fond of that kind of lady and was enjoying the kiss. He naturally fondled the lady's long, slender legs with one hand, and all of his motions looked sexy.
Yuna thought, "How dare you act that way before me in the evening. What the fuck-"
Yuna indignantly stepped on the accelerator and the car suddenly ran. The two jerked forwards in the back seats and the lady gently gave a cry of fear. Then Wesley held her tightly and whispered to her, "I'm with you, it's okay."
The lady gave a happy smile to him at once and raised her lips. Wesley kissed her again and a romantic, sexy atmosphere returned to the back seat...
Yuna's trick failed.
"Wait. Am I playing a trick on them?"
Yuna realized that she was taking offense as if her favorite toy had been touched with disdain. A small cluster of flames was burning fiercely within her heart, and she could not wait to open the door and throw the two in the backseat out of the car.
"Yuna, hurry up."
Just then, Wesley's urging came from the back and his voice sounded quite calm.
Yuna didn't notice those details, thinking that Wesley could not repress his sexuality. So she said, "Hmm. Got it, no problem!"
As she slammed on the accelerator and sharply spun the steering wheel, the car made a perfect turn, as if it was driving by a professional racer. The lady in the backseat, who had been immersed in the kisses almost fell in disorder. She hugged Wesley in panic and snorted, "What's wrong with the driver?"
Wesley frowned and said in a low, angry voice, "Yuna!"
"You told me to hurry up." Yuna smiled as if it had nothing to do with her and asked, "Are you satisfied with it?"
Wesley could easily cope with that; but the lady in his arms was like a frightened bird, timidly curling itself up, with her pretty eyes filled with pity and innocence.
The romantic and sexy atmosphere just a while ago had faded away.
Wesley then realized that it was a wrong decision to have Yuna drive for him. From the very beginning, he hadn't devoted himself to the kisses at all.
What he was caring about was only how Yuna would react.
And she didn't disappoint him-
When they were four kilometers away from the Four Seasons Hotel, a police car with sirens wailing overtook them and a policeman said over the loudspeaker that they were supposed to stop immediately.
"Finally!" Yuna thought.
Yuna resisted the urge to snicker and stopped the car obediently. A traffic police station quickly walked toward it, knocked at the driver's door and said, "You were exceeding the speed limit by 60%. Please get out of the car and show me your driver's license."
"Driver's license?" Yuna shrugged and said, "I didn't bring it with me."
"Then you must excuse me," said the officer, "we have to take you to the transportation bureau."
Yuna looked back to the back seats with an innocent look on her face and said, "I'm sorry. I wanted to hurry to the hotel and I didn't expect to delay you..."
Wesley made a sour face and said nothing, while the lady in his arms who seemed weak gave Yuna an angry stare.
Yuna understood her very well. If the cooked duck in her hand flew away, she would not just stare at the troublemaker and she was likely to stab him!
When they reached the transportation bureau, Wesley said to the lady, "Go back now."
She held Wesley's arm and asked reluctantly, "How about you?"
She was loath to part with Wesley, the best man she had ever seen on regards to appearance as well as manners, and she had taken great efforts to get his attention that night. If she left alone, what she had done would be in vain.
Wesley called a taxi for her and prepaid the fare. He gave her a kiss on the forehead and said, "It's my car so I can't leave now."
"I'll stay with you." The lady was still reluctant to get in the taxi and she said, "I don't mind it."
"But I do." Wesley's voice was still gentle but his eyes were cold, which was a sign that his patience was running out. He said, "You don't belong here."
His words sounded flattering, however, the lady inexplicably felt scared. She kissed Wesley's cheek and got in the taxi to leave.
Yuna, who was watching them not far away, had already gotten goose pimples.
She thought, "It's really shocking that Wesley is comforting a lady."
At the bureau, it was already 2 a.m. after they finished all the formalities.
The car was temporarily detained, so Yuna called a taxi. As soon as she got in it, she slanted her head to have a rest.
As she was about to fall asleep, Wesley asked in a cold voice, "Yuna, did you do that on purpose?"
"What?" Yuna replied vaguely, "Yeah, that lady..."
She wanted to say that the lady didn't deserve Wesley.
"But who deserves him? Would that be me?" Yuna thought.
"Oh, in all the world, I'm the last who deserves Wesley. I can't even say if someone deserves him or not."
Realizing that, Yuna felt inexplicably upset. So she stopped thinking about it and fell asleep.
In Wesley's eyes, Yuna didn't explain much and she just fell asleep with her words unfinished. When the car turned, she was tilted and her head was suddenly rested on his shoulder.
As he usually did, he would push Yuna away.
Looking at her defenseless face, however, he was hesitant.
"How dare she, an undercover person, sleeping so soundly with her target alone?" He thought.
"Humph, does she underestimate me or does she have infinite confidence in herself?"
After half an hour, the taxi stopped in front of the villa. Yuna probably felt it because her eyelashes moved. Wesley almost subconsciously pushed her to the other side and got off himself.
Yuna was still sleeping in the taxi. She leaned against the door and seemed to be sleeping soundly.
The driver was embarrassed and said, "It's... Sir, could you wake up your girlfriend?"
Wesley silently opened the door and Yuna slipped out of the taxi. The sudden weightlessness woke her up. She immediately grabbed the door and stood on her feet.
She could tell that Wesley disdained to wake her up, so he took her out of the taxi as if she were garbage. Since Wesley had never been gentle to her and she was used to it, she casually walked away and entered the house.
Wesley followed Yuna and watched her staggering upstairs. He suddenly said, "Yuna."
Yuna stopped; with her almost begging eyes she looked back at Wesley and said, "I'm sleepy. Are you going to kill me? Whatever, let's talk about it tomorrow, shall we?"
Wesley gloomily looked at her and didn't speak. Yuna thought he had acquiesced in her living there one more day and she ran back to the room as if she had gotten an amnesty.
