Chapter 448 Do What?

Wendy covered it well but Gavin still noticed-she was afraid.

Looking at Wendy's gaze, it was easy to find that her eyes stopped on the blue ocean.

This ocean made her scared.

Gavin felt like he had made a huge discovery. His hands covered his chest and he casually looked Wendy up and down. "I'm telling you to get in. Why are you walking backward? You can't have such a bad sense of direction."

Wendy swallowed and asked with little confidence, "Gavin, can we go there in a different kind of transportation? Such as... a ship."

Gavin laughed out loud. "There are only the two of us. Do we need to dispatch a ship here? Besides, the motorboat is much faster than a ship."

"Then..." Wendy backed up, "then you can go first. I'll wait for the ferry."

"The island isn't formally opened to tourists yet. There is no ferry." Gavin quickly walked up to her, grabbed Wendy's hand, and dragged her to the shore. "Aren't you the bravest? Why are you already scared by a motorboat?"

"Gavin, let go of me!" The closer Wendy got to the sea, the more terrified she became. She struggled even harder. "Let me go! Please!"

Wendy was stubborn and seldom begged anyone.

If he hadn't heard it wrong, Wendy had just said "please".

Gavin realized the severity and loosened Wendy's hand. Then he looked at her seriously and asked, "Tell me frankly why you are scared?"

"I..." Wendy said slowly, "I'm not afraid of the motorboat. I'm afraid of... water."

She was like this from a young age. She had been afraid of water areas. She wouldn't even get close to the swimming pool at home. And she never went to the seaside.

The reason was... um, a bit weird.

When she had to be on a ship, she always hid inside and didn't dare to look outside, not to mention going on deck like others.

It was because she would feel frightened and dizzy when she looked at the endless ocean. At that time, the water, the waves, and any other thing on the sea could claim her life.

Therefore, of all waterborne transportation, ships that had an enclosed space were the only ones she dared to take. She couldn't feel a bit of sense of safety in a motorboat. She couldn't take it, nor even sit in it.

"It's a kind of illness." Gavin asked, "Have you seen a psychologist?"

"You are the one who has an illness!" Wendy stared at Gavin. "Who doesn't have something they are afraid of? I don't believe you don't have a weakness."

"I really don't." Gavin shrugged frankly and said with a smile, "All I have are advantages."

Wendy replied, "... If you continue, I will vomit soon."

"Uh, you're not cute at all." Gavin rejected Wendy with his words, but at the same time, he held her hand. "You should be glad that you know me because then you don't have to see a psychologist. I know better than a psychologist how to overcome the inborn mental fear you have."

He pulled Wendy directly to the shore.

Wendy took a deep cold breath. She struggled and shouted, "Gavin! Are you out of your mind? Let me go!"

"Miss Moore, I won't do anything to you." Gavin didn't appear to let her go. He just turned around to blink his eyes at Wendy and smiled. "The water world is an interesting world. It will be a great loss for you to be scared of water. Let me help you!"

He wasn't like Brian. He always smiled.

But in Wendy's impression, his smile was either mean or dirty, which she would never take a second look at.

But in fact, when he actually smiled, his handsome eyes and brows would make a deep and attractive arch. A smile blended in with his eyes, which made his eyes particularly bright.

At this time, Gavin looked like a big boy who could give you a sense of safety. Besides, he looked very charming.

While looking, Wendy was in a daze.

Gavin didn't know that Wendy was looking at him. He thought she was just too scared. So he used the chance to take her body up and jump into the motorboat. "Get seated!"

Then Wendy finally realized what had happened and she was already in the boat. She widened her eyes.

"Ah-!"

A sharp scream sounded along with the motorboat, which was already a few meters away from the shore.

Yuna grabbed the edge of the boat and felt the extreme speed, feeling that she would soon go crazy.

It was the same feeling as she had felt when she was little. Endless water and endless blue seemed to take over their small boat.

She saw the waves.

The blue waves suddenly rose up from the sea and rolled like a fish. They hit fiercely on the rocks as if they would turn over the boat together if they got close.

The fast motorboat scratched the calm sea and took on some waves. The seawater was sprinkled on Wendy's body, which made her more scared and caused her to scream.

She used her other hand to grab on to the end of Gavin's clothes and begged him, "Let me out! Gavin! Let me out!"

If it continued, she would really pass out.

Gavin knew that Wendy had reached her limit so he slowed down. Then he set the direction, turned to automatic mode, and turned around to look at Wendy. "Look around. There is really nothing to be afraid of."

Maybe Gavin's voice was charming and seductive or Wendy was confused. She followed Gavin's words and looked around.

The sea was calm and seagulls flew by the horizon every once in a while. Their motorboat was like a leaf floating on the water. Nothing there showed any signs of danger. There was truly nothing to be terrified of.

Yuna knew it all the time, but she just couldn't control her fear.

Gavin used his chin to point at the sea. "It is just water. It can't hurt you. Besides, more than 70 percent of you consists of it. As a doctor, you're afraid of a part of your body?"

"..." Maybe Wendy was too scared, but she felt Gavin's nonsense reasonable and quietly explained, "I don't know why I am so scared either..."

"As you said, everyone has something they are afraid of." Gavin started to comfort Gavin. He lightly held Wendy's hand and said, "It will be okay when you overcome it."

His hands were very big and firm. His fingers were long and slim and not so rough like other men's. They felt so gentle.

Wendy quietly felt it and was moved.

All of a sudden, even Wendy's tone became gentle. "How to overcome it?"

Gavin's mouth formed into a smile. When Wendy was about to be tricked by his smile again, he suddenly put Wendy's hand into the water.

The motorboat was small and not high off the water. Half of Wendy's body was dragged so low that she almost fell into the sea.

"Ah-!"

This time, Wendy was so scared that she kept on screaming. She struggled to take her hand back, but Gavin wouldn't give her the chance. He covered his ear and pushed her hand down. "Feel it carefully. It is really just water. It won't bite you!"

Gavin, you're a bastard! You're a liar!" Wendy sounded like she was about to cry. "Let me go!"

"No!" Gavin said, "Unless you do as I say!"

"Screw you!"

When a dog is annoyed, it will jump over a wall. When Wendy was annoyed, she would bite. She bit Gavin's arm with red eyes, using much strength.

Gavin grunted lightly. It was easy to tell that he felt the pain, but he didn't release Wendy's hand.

Since they had gone so far, all the effort would be wasted if he gave up now.

Wendy would blame him no matter what. So he would rather help her get rid of the horror!

In fact, their posture was quite weird. From a distance, it was like Wendy was in Gavin's arms and leaning against him. They looked very close.

Gavin sensed the situation but he didn't think too much of it. He naturally held Wendy with his arms and gently comforted her. "Wendy, there is really nothing to be afraid of. I'm here, so the boat will not sink like the Titanic. And the sea really doesn't bite!"

Wendy sensed Gavin patting her back, one pat after another, so lightly, just like her father did when petting her to sleep in her childhood.

Amazingly, Wendy really calmed down and felt the water flowing through her fingers.

Just like Gavin said, the sea was just a bit cold but it didn't bite.

To be honest, the seawater was really comfortable in summer.

Wendy closed her eyes while feeling it, and the fear in her mind gradually faded away. Then she decided to make a confession to Gavin. "Actually, I began being afraid of water after I watched Titanic."

Others who had seen the film remembered the touching love story between Jack and Rose, and the classic tune My Heart Will Go On. But as a weirdo, she only remembered the overwhelming seawater and how Jack struggled in the water.

Of course, the scene she remembered most clearly was that of frozen Jack floating on the sea with only his head above the water. The rest of his body became still in the water like the other thousands of people.

If the water hadn't been so cold, the sea area wouldn't have been covered with so many corpses overnight.

When she had watched the movie, Wendy was little. Since then, she had had a deep fear of the sea. She thought that it could kill a person silently.

Her parents had tried to persuade her to see a psychologist, but she thought herself to be strange. And she refused using this reason.

"Gavin, um, he said he was more professional than a psychologist. So could I trust him?"

Wendy looked at Gavin with much expectation, hoping that he would show his understanding gently like he just did.

But the fact was-

"Hahahaha..." Gavin whacked the steering wheel of the boat and laughed crazily. "Wendy, I thought you were so courageous. Just a movie scared you like this. Hahaha..."

"..."

Wendy's face turned dark.
