Chapter 453 Gavin, I'm Scared

After Brian and Joanne left, Wesley and Yuna also went back.

On the beach, Gavin and Wendy who were bored were the only ones left there.

Gavin crossed his hands behind his head and crossed his legs as well. He casually lay on the beach and took a long breath.

The beach at night was particularly quiet and the dim light enveloped the sea surface, which changed its usual blue color into something mysterious and deep. The constant sound of the waves colliding on the rock was extremely clear in the night, as music movements performed by a musician.

Gavin closed his eyes and was dipped in the leisurely feeling.

Wendy crossed her legs and sat about one meter away from Gavin. Then she subconsciously turned around to look at Gavin-

He was the same person as in the daytime. But the casualness and unconventional feeling around him disappeared. Instead, he seemed harmless and cute when lying on the beach cozily. He could have been mistaken for a good promising young man by someone who hadn't seen him before.

But, it was undeniable that Gavin was very good-looking in any conditions.

Just like the moment when the moonlight was dim. Anyone else would look vague and unattractive in that situation.

But Gavin was different. He had a perfect face, with firm features. The dim moonlight washed over his face and only gave him a mysterious feeling. It did no harm to his handsomeness.

Wendy took out her phone photographed it from a chosen angle.

Um, the photo didn't need any adjustment. It was automatically beautified.

But what if the photo was discovered? Would she be mistaken as a pervert?

Wendy thought about it and sent the picture to Gavin. Then she could keep the photo candidly!

Having received the photo, Gavin was a bit surprised. He lifted his eyebrows and glanced at Wendy. "You're not skilled in photographing."

Wendy knew he wouldn't say anything good. She just curled her lips and smiled, "I think it isn't good either. But it has nothing to do with the photographer. The model is too ordinary. It's not worth appreciating at all without being processed and beautified!"

Gavin hadn't thought she would use his words to attack him. He bit his teeth and then replied, "Really? But in my eyes, the model is the only part worth looking in this photo. The photographing skills were terrible!"

Wendy laughed out. "If narcissism is a crime, you would be sentenced to be imprisoned for life!"

Gavin answered quickly and fluently, "If bad photographing skill is seen as a crime, you would have been beaten to death by now!"

They kept on with the word attacks without either of them giving up. It just got more and more vicious. They kept stabbing at one another with words, hoping the other would die of blood exhaustion at the next second.

The quietness on the beach was gradually broken, and the sound of waves crashing on the rocks became louder as if they were cheering for them.

The war kept on for half an hour. Wendy was very thirsty and signed to stop, "Gavin, it's time to go back. We can continue tomorrow."

Gavin inwardly appraised Wendy's eloquence; he couldn't win even if he wouldn't lose. So he agreed to the temporary truce and went back to the cabin.

It took about half an hour to walk from the seaside to the cabin.

Wendy had walked by that road with Gavin in the daytime. But at the moment, her back felt a chill, although it was the same way back.

After thinking for a while, Wendy understood that it was because of the island's lighting, which was abundant.

The lighting on the island was specially designed; every beam of light could properly add to the quiet and leisurely atmosphere. The luminance was also proper, which could not only let the tourists have some alone time quietly but was also suitable for a group of people to party.

Reasonably speaking, Wendy shouldn't be scared. But the problem was, there were only six people except for the staff on the island. And she and Gavin were the only ones outside.

At the moment, no matter how delicate the lights were arranged, it would seem terrifying, just like in the movie Mysterious Island.

Wendy walked slowly and huddled up by Gavin.

Gavin soon noticed her strange behavior and asked smilingly, "Are you scared?"

Wendy denied stubbornly, "It's impossible! I'm a doctor, okay? I just feel a little cold!" Then he moved to Gavin's side. "Ah, you're tall. You should fend off the wind for me."

Gavin was surprisingly generous and reached out his hand to hold Wendy's shoulder, "Since you're not afraid, let me tell you a story!"

In fact, his movement wasn't invasive at all. It was like holding a brother's shoulder which showed no intimacy.

But Wendy still felt uncomfortable. She was about to get rid of Gavin's hand when he turned to look at her. "The story is a bit scary. Do you dare to listen?"

"Of course, as long as you dare to tell!"

Wendy was very confident. Anyway, she was a student of the medical academy!

Gavin liked Wendy's reaction. He organized his thoughts and started to tell the story slowly.

"The wooden architecture on the island was in the charge of Mr. Zhang who prepared the motor boat for us. Several days ago, he reported a thing to me. A strange thing happened when they laid the foundation of the cabin you'll stay in."

Wendy had a bad feeling but she wasn't afraid yet. She asked calmly, "What strange thing?"

"They just couldn't lay the foundation stably," Gavin said lightly, "Later, he asked a Master over from outside. The Master said the reason was that someone lived there."

Wendy felt even colder but she still pretended she wasn't scared. "And then? How was it solved?"

"Then the Master solved it." Gavin pretended to be thinking. "Well, I heard from Mr. Zhang that they had held a ceremony and the Master sent the person to another place. After that, the cabin was built smoothly."

Right after those words, they arrived at the door of the cabin. Wendy subconsciously stopped.

"What's wrong?" Gavin looked at Wendy with "concern" and asked, "Are you scared? Don't worry. That person was driven away by the Master."

The more Gavin emphasized 'that person', the more obvious Wendy thought about the terrifying images.

She had to admit she was afraid, but she didn't want to show it in front of Gavin.

She got out of Gavin's grasp and condemned him angrily, "You are highly educated. How can you be so superstitious? Well, stupid is a better word!"

Gavin looked at Wendy in doubt. "You're really not afraid?"

Wendy crossed her arms in front of her breasts and smiled. "When we had anatomy classes, there were plenty of corpses in a lab. Do you really think this kind of story can scare me?"

Gavin understood after thinking about it. Wendy was from a medical school. What hadn't she seen before? What could make her afraid?

He suddenly felt that things were boring and waved his hand to Wendy. "I'll go back now. See you tomorrow."

Seeing Gavin's figure getting farther and farther away, Wendy felt colder and colder. She instantly went back into the cabin.

Before she closed the door, Wendy turned on all the lights first, then closed all the windows firmly and turned on the phone to play a song called Good Day.

"Aye-, today is a good day~"

The cheerful voice filled the whole room. Wendy jumped for a few times to cheer herself up, then grabbed her pajamas and went into the bathroom.

She kept warning herself to stop those horrifying thoughts, but it didn't work as she wanted. The scary scenes in the movies and novels kept appearing in her mind.

She thought of a woman who would come out of the bath tub, her body bleeding all over...

The ghost shadow appearing in the mirror...

Once turning around, you would see a man standing in the corner...

Gradually, she almost lost control. Wendy held her breath, finished showering at the fastest speed and rushed out of the bathroom.

Just at that moment, with a "pah" sound, the lights in the room all went out and she was completely swallowed in the darkness.

A cold smoke went from her head to her toes. She was completely stiff for a second or two. She just opened her mouth but couldn't say a word.

After two seconds-

"Ah!"

With a loud scream, Wendy pushed the door of the cabin open and ran out.

Without any consideration, she ran directly to Gavin's cabin and patted on the door, "Gavin, Gavin!"

Gavin was taking a bath. He heard the sound, covered himself with a towel and went out. He opened the door and saw Wendy. He felt strange and asked, "What's the matter?"

"I..."

Wendy completely lost control after uttering a single word. Then tears burst out of her eyes.

"Hey, don't cry." Gavin had handled all kinds of women but he had never seen a girl crying in front of him. He became instantly flustered and didn't know what to do. What was worse, he didn't know how to comfort her.

Wendy looked at Gavin with watery eyes. He never thought she would be so terrified because of him and he was still there comforting her to stop crying...

She cried even harder.

"No..." Gavin wiped off the tears on Wendy's face, "What are you crying for?"

"You..." Wendy choked as she talked, "The person you talked about, he came back."

Gavin was confused. "Which person?"

Wendy stamped her feet. "The person living in my cabin! I just finished showering, then the lights went out. I'm so scared, wuwuwu..."

Gavin finally understood. He looked at Wendy with guilt, not knowing whether to tell the truth or not.

If he came clean, Wendy might not let him go. He wouldn't have a chance to sleep that night.

After thinking for a while, Gavin finally made a compromise. "If the lights are out, there must be something wrong with the circuit. I can go to your place to have a look." Then he wanted to walk out.

Wendy held Gavin's hand. "Don't leave."

Gavin turned around to look at Wendy strangely. She realized her action was quite confusing, so she drew her hand back and explained, "I'm scared."
