Chapter 462 I Would Have to Let Her Go Someday

Wesley suddenly had a bad feeling. He gripped Yuna's hand. "Yuna!"

He finally stopped covering up how anxious he was but Yuna didn't react.

Yuna looked like a lifeless porcelain after passing out like that. She just quietly lay in bed and her face was pale like paper. You could barely feel her breathing.

If it wasn't for the cold sweat which kept coming out from her forehead, Wesley would almost believe that she had lost all life signs.

She was alright while she was picking up the fruits. Why would she suddenly be like that?

Wesley took out the phone and dialed Brian's number.

The call was soon connected and Brian's confused voice was soon heard. "You can make a call there?"

"Yuna is not feeling well. We're on our way back," Wesley said, "Tell the doctor to get prepared."

Brian stopped for a second. "Is it serious?"

"I'm not sure." Wesley took a look at Yuna who was in bed and his voice became graver. "She doesn't seem okay."

Having hung up the phone, Wesley went to the cockpit and ordered the pilot to speed up. "Get back to the island in an hour."

The pilot quickly nodded.

Although Wesley had always acted serious and cold, there was meaning in his words that brooked no denial. They could feel that if they were a bit late and something happened to the woman he was carrying on his back, they would be unable to keep the job, even their lives.

Wesley went back to the room. Yuna was still curled up in the quilt. The hair close to her forehead was already soaked by the sweat.

He looked at her for a while and then picked up the handkerchief to wipe off the sweat for her.

His hands, which had been stained with blood and had signed contracts worth hundreds of millions. But he had never wiped anyone's sweat.

It had only been half a trip, but he had already done two things for Yuna that he had never done before.

Yuna's impact on him might be bigger than he thought.

Having wiped off the sweat, Wesley reached out and touched Yuna's forehead to sense her temperature. It was incredibly low. Then he touched the hand covered in the quilt. It was too cold.

He went to the next room to take find another quilt to cover her. He carefully folded it for her.

"Grandma..." Yuna who was asleep suddenly frowned. She seemed to be having a nightmare and her voice sounded like crying. "Grandma..."

"Yuna?" Wesley tried to wake her up.

But Yuna was trapped in her world. "Grandma... don't go..."

Her voice was filled with nervousness. Wesley held her hand and his voice became gentle. "Yuna?"

She seemed to have sensed something. She grabbed Wesley's hand tightly, as if holding onto a lifesaver. After being quiet for a while, tears suddenly came out from the corners of her eyes.

She slightly murmured, "Wesley..." She seemed to be looking for Wesley or asking for help from Wesley.

Wesley felt the strangeness and answered, "I'm here."

Yuna didn't say anything else. For a few minutes, she held Wesley's hand as tightly as she could. Then she just lost it as she was giving something up. Then she went back to a deep sleep once again.

Wesley felt the temperature of her forehead again and it wasn't that low this time. Her hands were not as cold. He was relieved temporarily.

During the time that followed, Wesley didn't leave Yuna's room for a second.

This was the first time in his life that he had accompanied someone in bed and not feeling it was a waste of time.

Later, when Wesley carefully thought about it, this one hour was the only quiet time he and Yuna had spent together for the whole year.

An hour later, the boat reached the island and Wesley directly carried Yuna down the boat.

Gavin and Wendy were waiting by the shore and Joanne's private doctor followed them there.

Once seeing Wesley getting off the boat, Gavin walked up right away. "Do you need any help?"

"No." Wesley walked hastily. "Take the doctor to my cabin."

Gavin signaled the doctor to follow them and stopped Wendy who wanted to follow them. He warned her, "Didn't you see how bad Wesley looks? There's no need for you to join the scene, being a doctor specialized in cardiac surgery. If Yuna is not looked after, Wesley might throw you into the sea to have a bath."

Wendy pried her hand from Gavin's. "Maybe there's something wrong with Yuna's heart!"

She didn't heed Gavin's words. Instead, she stubbornly followed Wesley.

It was a basic rule of hers as a doctor: never ignore a patient!

Gavin nervously looked at Wendy's figure and shouted inside-"There can't be anything wrong with Yuna's heart! If there was something wrong, it would be impossible for her to undertake the job as a spy, since it involves dealing with a great deal of pressure!"

He was upset. The patient Wendy needed to check on was him!

On the other side, Wesley quickly carried Yuna back to the cabin. The doctor's examination was timely and all the results seemed normal.

The doctor felt troubled. "We're not in the hospital, where we would have access to professional equipment. From what I've seen here, there's nothing abnormal. Do you have anything you want to tell me?"

Wesley thought about it and looked unnatural. But he finally said it, "She's in her period."

"Could it be the menstrual pain?" The doctor asked, "Has it ever happened to your girlfriend before?"

"She..." Wesley hesitated, which was really rare for him. In the end, he didn't deny that Yuna was his girlfriend. "Never."

Yuna had been with him for over a year, but she had never complained about feeling uncomfortable during her period. So, he was very sure.

"It's odd." The doctor thought about it and asked, "Did she eat anything special today?"

Wesley suddenly was reminded of something and called the people on the boat to bring him the fruits Yuna had picked that morning.

If he wasn't mistaken, Yuna started feeling uncomfortable after eating that fruit.

The doctor took a look at the fruit and smiled, "It makes sense then. It's an extremely cold fruit. Someone who is weak will feel uncomfortable after eating it, not to mention a girl during her period."

"So, she's not ill?" Wesley didn't realize he was quite relaxed.

"Of course not," The doctor said with certainty, "Let her have some rest; she will be fine when she wakes up. But to be sure, if you're still worried, you can take her to the hospital to have a detailed examination when you go back tomorrow."

After quite a while, Wesley realized the last sentence of the doctor came too late.

After seeing the doctor off, Wesley and the sleeping Yuna were left in the spacious room.

Maybe she was still feeling unwell, Yuna kept frowning and sweating.

Wesley sat by the bed and wiped the sweat on her forehead. At the same time, he held Yuna's hand without even knowing.

When carefully looking at it, one would find that Yuna's hand was rougher than average girls, with calluses on the knuckles.

If they weren't slim and well-shaped, Yuna's hands could be the ugliest hands from a girl that he had ever seen.

However, just those ugly hands could make his heart ache.

Even if she wasn't like Joanne who had a clean background, nothing would be like that if she weren't connected with Rowdy.

While thinking about it, Wesley gradually released Yuna's hand.

He would have to do that someday.

Right at this moment, he heard someone knocking at the door. Wesley walked over, opened the door and found Brian, Joanne and Wendy standing outside.

"How is Yuna?" Joanne asked. "Dr. Hans told us she was in pain."

"She just ate something bad. She will be fine after a day's rest," Wesley said, "Don't worry about her."

Joanne carefully observed Wesley and smiled, "It seems... you're the one who worries about Yuna the most." Then, she directly pulled Brian to leave.

Just after they left, Brian told Joanne, "You're the second person who dares to bother Wesley."

Joanne asked with a great sense of achievement, "Who's the first one?"

Brian stopped for a minute and said, "Who else could it be except for Yuna?"

Many years later, when Joanne carefully recalled the details of how she got along with Yuna, she realized how helpless Brian's words were.

By the time Brian and Joanne's figures were completely out of his sight, Wesley turned around to enter the room.

Looking at Yuna in bed, Wesley frowned-

Were his worries that obvious?

Thinking about it, Wesley's face turned cold.

It didn't matter that Joanne could see his worries. But he couldn't let Yuna find out!

But Yuna was trapped in a nightmare at the moment.

The nightmare started almost at the moment she passed out.

In the dream, she went back to her childhood, to the place where her parents died in a car accident. She experienced the time she lost her parents again. Her grandma raised her up with so much difficulty. And she could only pretend to be strong.

Then, like in a movie scene, she grew up in a flash while in the dream and had her current face.

Maybe she had the competitive gene in her body. After she grew up, the hatred that sprouted from the death of her parents became more and more unforgettable in her mind. She learned financial management but her mind was filled with the truth of her parents' case.

There was an encouraging sentence, which said that, once you made up your mind to do something, the whole world would come to your aid.

Then, she ran into Rowdy, which she thought was destiny. To avenge her parents, she voluntarily made herself a special weapon for Rowdy.

Those few years, she lied to her grandma about her being studying abroad. While in fact, she was doing an incredibly dangerous job.

She had thought about how sad her grandma would be if she knew the truth someday. Therefore, she could only force herself to be an invincible weapon.

Only by becoming stronger could she protect herself and her grandma.

But then, the picture was turned. She seemed to be back home and saw her grandma lying on the cold floor. A pair of hands strangled her neck. Her grandma painfully stared into the air and kept calling her name,

"Yuna... Yuna..."

"Grandma..." Yuna wanted to rush over to pull that hand away but she couldn't. She seemed to be trapped by something and couldn't move no matter how hard she tried.

"Yuna..." Her grandma stared at her and slowly closed her eyes.

"Grandma!" Yuna suddenly exploded. She could finally move so she rushed over and held her grandma, but her grandma was cold.

She was completely blank, as if punched directly in the brain.

After she realized she had lost her grandma forever, she shouted out loud...
