Chapter 468 One Shall Stand, One Shall Fall (1)

As soon as Yuna's voice died down, Kai looked stunned.

He had a different plan!

That day before dawn, Kai was suddenly told that Granny Wallace had an accident. He hastened to her house, only to find that the old lady had passed away, and even the doctor could do nothing to help.

He tried to discover what had happened. The police told him that Wesley's men had broken into Granny Wallace's house, and that Wesley was the indirect cause of her death.

However, Kai remembered that Wesley had never told them to bother Yuna's family. He thought, "Wesley has no reason to do that, but why?"

With confusion, Kai surveyed the scene and carefully checked the suspicious evidence the police had found there, then he immediately knew who it was behind the killing.

He continued his investigation, but he was surprised to find that Yuna was the mole who worked for Rowdy.

After repeated confirmation, one half of Kai's world had collapsed.

After leaving Yuna's house, Kai rushed to Wesley's office like crazy and searched around in it, only to find that Wesley had already known Yuna's true identity.

However, Wesley didn't blow Yuna's cover. Instead, he had taken advantage of her to give Rowdy misinformation.

Only then did Kai realize that the two people that he trusted the most had been keeping secrets from him.

Finally, the other half of Kai's world began to collapse as well.

He hid himself in endless darkness, and not until dawn did he have the courage to face the facts. Then he phoned Wesley.

At that moment, he tried to take a chance with it, hoping that Wesley would tell him it was all a misunderstanding.

However, Wesley confirmed on the phone that Yuna was the mole. Wesley also told him that it was Yuna who had handed over Rowdy the document, the one which nearly led to Brian and Joanne's divorce.

Kai was stunned then. After a long while, he believed what Wesley told him and asked with confusion, "Brother Wesley, what are you going to do with Yuna?"

Wesley said indifferently, "I'll play by the rules." He sounded determined.

It was plain to those who knew Wesley that he brooked no deception or betrayal, and nobody who dared to challenge his bottom line had come to a good end.

That time, Yuna was doomed.

Kai felt pity for Yuna, but he didn't intercede for her.

He knew Wesley well. Once he tried interceding for her, she would face a stiff punishment.

Therefore, he secretly planned to help Yuna escape.

Although Yuna had been working undercover for Rowdy, Kai didn't want her to be tortured by Wesley.

However, to help Yuna escape had to be based on the premise that only he and Wesley knew that "Yuna was a mole."

Once the other men who worked for Wesley were aware of that, they would disagree even if Wesley agreed to let Yuna off.

Kai had thought that as long as Wesley didn't make it public, he would not move openly. However, beyond his expectations, Yuna revealed herself in front of those guys just then.

As a result, his plan fell through. Yuna would have no chance of escaping.

Kai felt extremely desperate...

In the office, Wesley was the only one who kept calm. He simply sat on the sofa, like an outsider, watching Yuna coldly.

From what Wesley knew of Yuna, he really smelled a rat, because Yuna wasn't an impulsive person. However, seeing Yuna's furious and determined look, he couldn't convince himself that there was anything wrong with her.

At that moment, Yuna was like an enraged lion that had gotten up while shaking its fur, with a murderous look, ready to maul everyone in front of it.

She was like a blazing fire that could burn to ashes all who approached her.

Wesley stood up and glanced at the others. "Get out."

He decided to have a talk with Yuna, regardless of whether she thought he was the one who killed Granny Wallace or not.

"Brother Wesley!" Wesley's men were worried, and they didn't want him to stay alone with Yuna, the mole.

Wesley shouted in a low and displeased voice, "Get out!"

Kai thought for a while, then he pushed the others toward the door and said, "Do as Brother Wesley says. Let's leave first."

Kai wasn't worried because he didn't think that Yuna could hurt Wesley, nor Wesley would hurt her.

Those guys followed Kai out, leaving only Wesley and Yuna in the office.

Wesley began to speak in a cold voice with sarcasm. "Yuna, should you want to continue working undercover, just go on. Unless you reveal yourself, I won't unmask you."

He looked like an honorable king who was talking with a nobody. At that moment, Yuna, who had seen herself as a vigilant mole, realized that she was nothing but a stupid woman in Wesley's eyes.

Yuna felt a chill from the bottom of her heart. She laughed at herself and said, "Wesley, you enjoy overwhelming your opponent with your power and intelligence, don't you?"

"Do you think you're a worthy opponent of mine?" Wesley sneered. "You've overestimated yourself."

He was right. Yuna wasn't a worthy opponent.

Yuna clenched her fists and looked at him with intense hatred. "If I tell you that I'll kill you, what would you say? Do you think I've overestimated myself?"

Wesley said with disdain, "You may try."

Yuna knew that she was no match for Wesley. However, at that moment, she chose not to stay rational nor she showed restrain.

She intended to cause a wild disturbance and make it public!

With that in mind, Yuna suddenly attacked Wesley, who nimbly eluded her. She clenched her fists and kept attacking him, as if she was fighting a life and death battle with Wesley.

The two were both hard to deal with. Yuna attacked fiercely, while Wesley was quick to respond. They picked up all that could be used as a weapon; the office was full of sounds of items being smashed; others could tell how intense the fight was.

All the men outside the office looked anxious. They repeatedly asked Kai, "Shall we go and take a look inside?"

Kai gave them an annoyed look and whispered, "Brother Wesley has not asked us to do that. Are you asking for trouble?"

"But..." those guys said in confusion, "What if..."

"Are you worried about Brother Wesley?" Kai sneered. "Isn't it like humiliating him? His safety is not yours to worry about. Get it?"

Those guys thought it over and found his words reasonable. They asked, "Hey, who should we worry about?"

"..."

Kai didn't respond.

He worried more about Yuna.

He thought that Wesley wouldn't hurt Yuna. He wondered, "But what if Yuna riles Wesley?"

It turned out that Kai guessed correctly. Wesley was on the verge of rage.

He had wanted to talk with Yuna, without expecting that she would attack him, so he decided to take her on to the end.

After fighting with her for more than ten minutes, he realized that Yuna was determined to kill him with her clenched fists and fatal attacks.

He wondered, "Does she hate me this much? Why can't she see that I'm tolerating her?"

With a disappointed look on his face, Wesley grabbed Yuna's wrist to stop her and shouted, "Yuna, what do you want?"

"My grandma must have asked your men the same question," Yuna glared at Wesley and said, "You killed her. I want you to pay with your life!" With that, she struggled to attack Wesley again.

Wesley grabbed Yuna's wrist hard so that she couldn't move at all. He asked angrily, "Do you really think that I killed your grandma?"

"Your men broke into my house. Don't tell me that you didn't ask them there!" Yuna's eyes were red. "Wesley, my grandma didn't know who I was or what I was doing at all. How could you be so ruthless to an old lady like her?"

Wesley sneered and gave her a cold look. He asked, "I have no conscience at all according to you, so I did the dirty deed, right?"

"Yes!" Yuna said without hesitation, "You must have done that because you want to take revenge on me!"

"Do you think that I would ask my men to tell your grandma about you just to take revenge on you?" Wesley said, staring at Yuna with anger.

He could find thousands of ways to take revenge on anybody. There was no need for him to be ruthless to an old lady!

He wondered, "Does she think that I'm shady so I must have done it?"

"You've been planning to take revenge on me, haven't you?" Yuna said, "You found out that I was a mole long before, and that's why you asked me to investigate Kai. At that time, if I had made Kai my scapegoat, you would have taken revenge on me and killed my grandma, right?"

"If that's what you think." Wesley smiled, as if he was either sneering at himself or showing approval of Yuna. He said, "Go on."

"But in the end, I didn't make Kai my scapegoat, so you had no reason to kill my grandma for the time being. Then you began to take advantage of me. Firstly, you sent me to your business partner as a present. Secondly, you took advantage of me to give Rowdy the misinformation about your offer..." Yuna thought for a while, then she looked into Wesley's eyes and asked, "When I was kidnapped by Rowdy in Mexico, you thought that I was ridiculous, didn't you?"

At that time when Yuna was kidnapped, Wesley had tried his best to hold back his desire to rescue her.

"Since Yuna thinks that I never thought of saving her, why don't I do as she wishes?" Wesley thought.

"Yes, I did," Wesley said indifferently, "By the way, I have to say that you and Rowdy are both good at acting."

"You said it. Otherwise how could I keep lying to you for so long?" After a pause, Yuna asked, "The other day you took me to the island so that you could prey on my grandma. You planned that for a long time, didn't you? Yesterday you took me to the yacht and took away my phone, saying that you had something to tell me. In fact, it was just an excuse because you wanted to stop me from staying in touch with the outer world, right?"

"Yuna, can't you see anything wrong about all that?" Wesley narrowed his eyes, visibly on the verge of rage.

He wasn't able to admit that he felt furious because of Yuna's distrust of him.
