Chapter 502 There Could Always Be Worse Ones

Connell thought that Gavin would be terrified if he brought up Chris's name.

But Gavin made him realize how much worse he could be-

Gavin glanced at Wendy; she had already fallen asleep on the counter. Half of her face was covered by her arms and the other half looked delicate and harmless.

She bit her lips when his sight fell on her face. Maybe she dreamt of something or she was savoring the taste of the fruit wine.

Gavin curled his lips and smiled. "If I tell Chris that you got his cousin drunk, who do you think will be more miserable?"

Connell,"..." "Damn it!"

"And," Gavin's eyes slightly glanced at the dancing floor, "Who do you think they are? They will only watch happily if we have a fight. Freya would be the happiest."

When Connell carefully thought about it, he realized that Gavin knew Freya too well. He had a wide smile as he replied, "Personal assistant Shen, you're not serious, are you?" If they started a fight, he would definitely lose!

"Whether I am serious-" Gavin suddenly caught Connell's clothes tightly, "It depends on whether you got Wendy drunk on purpose."

Connell innocently unfolded his hands, "I promise to heaven and all the people in this bar can attest to this-Wendy got drunk by herself!"

Gavin gave the bartender an inquisitive look and the bartender nodded to him. So he basically believed Connell's words. But he was still doubtful. "Why did Wendy would want to get herself drunk?"

Connell knew better than anyone about the reasons, but he just didn't want to tell him, seeing Gavin so confident as he had him by the collar.

He would keep Wendy's secret. Let Gavin wallow in his misery!

Connell shrugged, "I don't know about that. She started drinking the minute she got here. I wanted to make friends with her because she's beautiful. But you showed up before I could achieve anything."

"You want to get her?" Gavin smiled grimly. "You, the young Master Wesley, may not be allowed to stay in Arlington for a while if Chris hears about it."

Connell suddenly had a bad feeling. "What are you going to do?"

"Your grandpa asked me once how to cultivate a mature person with marketing qualities," Gavin smiled meaningfully and said, "Is your family working on a project in South Africa recently? If I offer the same advice to the president of the Everbridge Group, your grandpa will definitely send you to South Africa to get some practice."

"Fuck!" Connell was shocked. "I just talked to the girl you like. Do you have to be so evil?"

"..." Gavin's eyes changed. "What are you talking about?"

Connell was still young and used to the bustling and enjoyable life during his free time in a big city. He lost control just by thinking about the unfamiliar life and the hot South African weather.

Out of excitement, the young Master Wesley's voice became even louder, "You like Wendy! You..."

Before Connell could finish, Gavin loosened his collar and pushed him back, "fuck off!" Then he turned around to look at Wendy who was leaning on the counter. Luckily, she didn't wake up. It seemed that she was still asleep.

"So you're afraid to let her know?" Connell suddenly laughed crazily. At last, he covered his stomach which started to ache after laughing so hard. He said, "That's right. It should be the first time that personal assistant Shen has fallen in love with someone. And it is a person who may have no feelings for you. How does it feel? Not so good, right?"

"..."

Connell caught Gavin's shoulder and said firmly, "It is called-karma!"

Gavin coldly took away Connell's hand and stared at Connell with a grim and dangerous look, "What do you mean by a person who may have no feelings for me?"

Gavin had expected that Wendy didn't like him, but he never imagined that he would hear it mentioned by another person.

Connell replied calmly, "Now that you just arrived, it's normal that you don't know about it." He stopped for a minute intentionally and pointed at Wendy. Then he continued, "In less than half an hour ago, she just told me that she liked men like me. She wanted me to be her boyfriend!"

Gavin was sharp and dangerous, as if he wanted to burn Connell down. Connell looked innocent and unfolded his hands. "If you don't believe me, you can ask Wendy when she wakes up."

In fact, Connell was just gambling.

If Wendy denied it, she and Gavin might smoothly get together and develop a relationship, and they would have to thank him for it. But if Wendy lacked confidence in herself and admitted liking him to cover her affection for Gavin, then it would be a way for him to vent his anger.

After seriously thinking about it, the young Master Wesley felt more and more interested and a smile full of expectation appeared by his eyes.

In Gavin's eyes, Connell's smile was a way to show off.

"No matter what she told you tonight, you can't take her away." Gavin used threats to cover the jealousy churning inside him.

"I'm not in a rush." Connell finally had the upper hand. He said proudly, "We have a lot of time. There's no need to hurry tonight."

Gavin silently clenched his fist into a ball. He tried so hard to resist his urge to punch Connell.

At the time, Freya finally noticed Gavin and revealed a knowing smile. She slowly walked to them and saw Wendy who was sleeping on the counter. She asked in confusion, "What's wrong with Wendy?"

Gavin answered angrily, "She is drunk."

Freya replied with an "Oh" and looked at Connell. She gave him a praising look and then she turned to see Gavin. "Then I will leave Wendy to you. I'm busy tonight. I have no time to take care of her."

Gavin sounded tough. "I'll take her back. You can mind your own business."

"Thanks." Freya smiled and glanced at Connell. "Young Master Wesley, why are you sitting alone at the counter? There are many girls waiting for you there!" Then she dragged Connell to the dancing floor.

Connell was gone and so was the anxiety in Gavin's heart. He patted Wendy's shoulder and said, "Wake up."

"..."

Wendy didn't react so Gavin could only put more strength into his hand which was shaking her, "Hey, Wendy, it's already morning!"

"..."

Wendy was still unresponsive. The experienced bartender whispered to Gavin, "She must have fallen asleep."

Gavin frowned; he gave the car key and money to settle the bill to the bartender. "Please help me open the car door."

He quickly lifted Wendy and carried her in his arms. Then he walked outside of the bar. The bartender then realized what he meant and hurried out to open the car door.

Gavin put Wendy on the passenger's seat. He took back the car key and thanked the bartender before he got in the car.

Gavin drove at a much slower speed than when he drove to the bar. His excellent sports car drove slowly on the road just like an average car, but it was stopped by the police soon after.

Gavin knew what it was about. When he lowered the window, he signaled the police station to be quiet and pointed at the passenger's seat. "I..." He wanted to say that Wendy was sleeping to stop the policeman from waking her up, but he suddenly found that it was hard for him to define who Wendy was to him.

Girlfriend? Well, that would be thinking too much.

Friend? He was not satisfied.

Luckily, Gavin was familiar with the traffic bureau and the policeman who stopped him happened to know him. He instantly knew what he meant, so he passed the ticket to him and said in a low voice, "You were speeding. This is your ticket."

Gavin obediently received the ticket. "I will deal with the payment as soon as possible. Can we go now?"

The policeman glanced at Wendy who was at the passenger's seat. "You shouldn't risk your life even if it's for a beautiful lady."

"You talk too much." Gavin closed the window with contempt, then he stepped on the pedal and took Wendy to her apartment.

By then, Gavin realized a severe problem. He had taken Wendy back to her home, but he forgot her purse. They had no access to the apartment without the key and the door card.

However, wasn't it the chance heaven had given him to take Wendy back to his home?

Following that train of thought, Gavin had no dirty ideas inside his heart.

Just taking Wendy back home and looking at her quietly was good enough for him. The rest was too much for him to think, not to mention doing anything.

Back in his apartment, the guard downstairs saw Gavin carrying a girl. He uttered "Wow" and quickly opened the door for Gavin. "Mr. Gavin, is this your girlfriend? She is so beautiful!"

Gavin suddenly became delighted and he nodded. "You're right." What he meant was that Wendy was really beautiful.

The elevator moved very fast; Gavin was already carrying Wendy into his apartment in a short while. Then he placed Wendy in his room.

Because of the alcohol, Wendy didn't wake up; not even once. The moment she felt the quilt and pillow, she murmured something and quickly got under the quilt. She was sound asleep after that.

Gavin stood by the bedside, looking at Wendy quietly. There was a sudden smile on his lips. He took off her shoes and brought a hot towel from the bathroom to wipe her face and hands with it. At last, he tucked her under the quilt.

He suddenly felt strange.

He thought he had done everything he could with girls. But he never thought that he could also take care of a girl.

And it surprisingly didn't feel too bad.

Damn it! Did he have a thing for being tortured?

Being depressed for a while, Gavin took some clothes to get washed. When he was back in the room, Wendy had changed to another posture, sprawled on the bed like a small frog. Even Gavin felt uncomfortable for her.

He helped Wendy to turn around. She suddenly took a deep breath and bit her lips while asleep; this attracted Gavin's eyes to her lips.

These had to be the most beautiful lips Gavin had ever seen. They had the perfect shape and the ends of them slightly raised. Even if she just kept quiet there, she gave others a soft and comfortable feeling.

Gavin remembered the last time on the island when he lost control and kissed Wendy without a warning.

He had never admitted that he remembered that soft sweet feeling all the time and was eager to try it again.

While thinking about it, Gavin lowered his head and kissed Wendy's lips.

Thus, his dream came true.

Every dream in this world would have to end.

Gavin just gave her a light kiss. Then he cleared the hair over Wendy's face, arranged the quilt and went to sleep outside on the couch.
