Chapter 504 The Dress Looks... Very Nice

After they got out of the apartment gate, Wendy finally realized that the guard had misunderstood the relationship between her and Gavin.

Wendy elbowed Gavin and asked, "You don't intend to explain?"

Gavin smiled as if nothing had happened. "He had this mistaken idea all night. It may be too late... to explain."

"What do you mean by mistaking for a whole night? When did it begin?" Wendy stared at Gavin as if it would erase the misunderstanding.

Gavin was still calm. "He saw me bringing you in last night."

"Bringing me..." Wendy suddenly remembered something and stopped to ask, "Once you brought me here, how did you get me upstairs?"

"You were so drunk while I'm such a gentleman. I definitely carried you upstairs in my arms." Gavin emphasized intentionally, "The way girls like best. And the guard saw us."

Wendy suddenly freaked out. "Gavin!"

"What are you screaming about? Do you want to be dragged upstairs?" Then, Gavin changed his expression and moved closer to her with a naughty smile. "Even if you want that to happen, I'm not willing."

Wendy was immune to this kind of flirting; she trampled hard on Gavin's foot. "From the guard's tone, he seemed to have mistaken me for your first girlfriend. He thinks of you as a fine promising young man. Hum, Gavin, how can you cheat an old man like that?"

"I never told him that I didn't have a girlfriend. Maybe he just hasn't seen me bring a girl home, so he thinks I'm single all the time." After a pause, Gavin leaned over and stared at Wendy in confusion. "Well, how come you're not curious about the reason why I never take my girlfriends home?"

Wendy shouted, "A guy like you can never wait to take them home. You surely go to the nearest hotel with them, right?"

Gavin knew Wendy was just being sarcastic, so he didn't get annoyed. Instead, he smiled. "You really know me well. How long have you been studying me? Huh?"

"You have no illnesses which could be used as a sample case. There's nothing worth studying in you." Wendy smiled and got in the car. "You should get ill first, if you want to be my researching object."

"..." Gavin didn't know whether to feel annoyed or amused. He sighed, then he stepped on the gas and drove to the hall.

This time, he had to say that Wendy was wrong. The reason why he never took a girlfriend home was because neither he nor the girl wanted to.

Both were simply playing a game so there was no need to know that much about each other. They would choose to go to the hotel and go back to their own homes by morning with no strings attached.

Maybe he had been playing so wildly that he was destined to meet Wendy. Just as Connell said, karma had arrived.

And he, had nothing to do with it.

At the Lambert Family home in Prime Villas.

Since pregnancy, Joanne had become more and more sleepy. But, she had gotten up very early that day, and she also woke Brian up.

Brian knew what Joanne was excited about. He took a look at the time. It was still early. So he reached out and tried to get Joanne back under the quilt.

"Honey, I don't want to sleep anymore," Joanne said softly and got away from Brian's grasp. Her face was bright with excitement. "I want to try the dress Freya sent here!"

The dress Freya sent?

Brian got up while he wondered about what she said. He later saw her wearing a creamy-white gown as she walked out from the walk-in wardrobe.

The length of the gown just reached Joanne's ankle. The design around the neck enhanced her beautiful clavicle. When it came to the waist, it was specially designed for a pregnant woman; loose and perfect for Joanne's condition.

The unprecedented design didn't look weird on Joanne's body. Instead, it looked incredibly elegant.

The gown's material was very nice and it fell naturally, which not only gave it elegance but also a sense of leisure. It made Joanne look extremely sexy.

Joanne didn't realize how stunning she was right then. She turned around in front of Brian. "Freya had it delivered here yesterday. It's the maids of honor's gown in the pregnancy's version! How is it? How do I look?"

Brian walked to Joanne and asked, "You can be a bridesmaid for Freya?"

"Of course not, I'm already married." Joanne raised her lips. "But there's no rule which says you can't wear the bridesmaids' gown if you're not one of them! Um, tell me, how do I look in this dress?"

She was so excited that her face was flushed. As she moved, her sweet smell ran into Brian's nostrils, making his heart stop.

Brian stared at her and his eyes became deep and soft. "Very nice."

"..." "Er..."

Joanne felt Brian was speaking about something else.

As she expected, Brian suddenly kissed her lips in the next second.

"Um..." Joanne stepped backwards. Before she could escape, her waist was trapped by Brian's hands. Then, he deepened the kiss as if he were punishing her for trying to escape from him.

Joanne could only cooperate with his gentle capture.

After quite a while, Brian let Joanne go and looked at her deeply. "I mean that it has a great effect in attracting me."

Joanne was no longer that girl who would easily blush. She pouted and complained, "Mr. Lambert, your ability to control yourself has become worse and worse."

Brian raised his lips, "It's because I have been with you longer and longer."

"..." Joanne had to admit this sentence was very strong for her. She could only push Brian with a red face, "Go and get changed. You have to take me to Freya's home later."

Brian was still not satisfied. He kissed Joanne's lips again and then he turned around to enter the bathroom.

It was almost nine o'clock when they were both ready to leave. Brian got his car and took Joanne to the Norris Family estate.

The Norris Family was very bustling that day.

To be frank, both Mr. Norris and Mrs. Norris were very traditional. Although Freya and Chris had already gone to the Civil Registry a long time ago, for them, the day when they held the wedding ceremony was the day they actually got married.

Marriage was a happy thing so Mrs. Norris got the house decorated in a festive manner. In the early morning, the neighbors paid a visit to congratulate them. Mr. Norris and Mrs. Norris were busy entertaining them and smiling.

A neighbor asked on purpose, "Mr. Norris, your daughter is going to get married. Do you feel sad?"

Mr. Norris smiled, "Not at all. Before we had time to worry about her marriage, she brought the CEO of the Everbridge Group to become our son-in-law. I feel a little down to let such a good daughter get married, but it's not sadness!"

In this sentence, Mr. Norris not only praised his daughter and son-in-law, but also himself. Those neighbors who heard his words knew he was showing off but they had no way to refute him. Above all, Chris did have such status. Mr. Norris wasn't bragging.

While they were enjoying themselves, the housekeeper hurriedly entered. "Mr., Mrs., Miss Scott seems to have arrived."

"Joanne has arrived?" Mrs. Norris quickly got out and saw Joanne and Brian getting out of the car.

Joanne also saw Mrs. Norris. She greeted Mrs. Norris from a distance and turned around to Brian. "You can go to my brother's place. Auntie will look after me here. Don't worry."

Brian was still not assured. He murmured, "Be careful. Wendy is here. Tell her to keep you company."

Joanne nodded. Mrs. Norris had just gone outside after Brian's car left. Mrs. Norris excitedly looked at her. "Joanne, get in. Be careful."

Joanne smiled. "Auntie, take it easy. My condition is already stable. Well, what is Freya doing?"

"She came back over at around two o'clock in the morning. She just got up and is with the stylist upstairs." Mrs. Norris held Joanne's hand. "I will take you there."

When they got upstairs, Joanne pushed open the door of Freya's room and just saw her taking off the facial mask. Seeing her, Freya was happy but worried at the same time, "Joanne, look at my face!"

Joanne looked at Freya's face for two seconds. "Your face is covered with the lotion..."

Freya rushed into the bathroom to wash her face. Then she ran out and asked "Is the condition of my skin terrible? Can it be covered with makeup? Today's my wedding! The wedding I have looked forward to for more than a decade! I don't want to be in my wedding gown with a pale face..."

Joanne asked the dresser, "How long has she been like this?"

The dresser thought for a while and then said, "Miss Norris has been like that from the minute we got in. We told her that her skin condition was good and it will have no effect on the look she will have after putting on the make-up. But... she doesn't believe it."

Joanne smiled. "I'll fix her problem. You can go downstairs and have a cup of coffee."

After the dresser and the stylist were gone, Joanne faced Freya with a confused look. "Do you have to be so nervous?"

Freya touched her hair and denied it, "I'm not nervous. I just wanted to be in my best condition..."

"Stop pretending. I know you're nervous but you don't want to tell it to the stylist." Joanne looked like she could understand it. "I was the same as you the night before I got the marriage certificate with Brian."

Freya supported her chin and asked, "And then?"

"Then nothing happened. It was much smoother than I had imagined. Be calm. The more nervous you are, the more mistakes you will make." Joanne seriously looked at Freya's face. "You have good skin, so one-time staying up will not affect it much. But the wedding will be delayed if you keep worrying like that."

Freya was suddenly confused. "Then what should I do?"

Joanne picked up the phone and called the first floor, "Auntie, I'm Joanne. Please ask the stylist and the dresser to come upstairs to do Freya's make-up."

The make-up and style for Freya had been designed ahead of time. So, the dresser and stylist only needed to do the job accordingly, and Freya was quite cooperative.

Joanne was relieved; she texted Chris to tell him that everything was going smoothly; he only needed to coordinate the wedding matters.

Actually, before Brian took her there, Chris expected for Freya to be nervous. But Chris also predicted that she could handle Freya. Before he hung up the phone, he said, "I'll leave you the duty of taking care of your sister-in-law."

Thinking about that, Joanne smiled and glanced at the sky outside the window.

It was a sunny day, a good day to get married.
