Chapter 523 Joanne's Rival in Love (2)

Joanne's rival in love?

Wendy couldn't help staring.

It was Brian who Joanne married and he was the perfect man in more than ninety percent of the girls' dreams in Arlington. So it was normal for Joanne to have one or two rivals in love.

But Rosalyn who was such a competent rival was already behind bars. There was still someone who wanted to get involved in Joanne and Brian's relationship?

Wendy asked curiously, "Cousin, which heroine is so brave and bold?"

Freya directed Wendy's attention the other way. "On your eleven o'clock, there's a woman in a blue dress. Her name is Miley who was your cousin-in-law's classmate when they were studying in America."

"Classmate?" Wendy was inwardly worried, "Then, does Miley know my cousin-in-law since long time ago?"

"Calm down!" Freya patted Wendy's shoulder, "Your cousin met her when she was ten years old!"

"That's right." Then Wendy remembered that the love between Brian and Joanne was a typical puppy love and nodded. "Then my cousin still wins. That's great!"

Freya gave Wendy an approving eye and changed the topic, "But we still have to keep an eye on that woman!"

Wendy asked, "Do we? Everyone in the world knows the attitude my cousin-in-law has on regards to my cousin! Besides, their babies will come into the world soon! Then, why do we still have to watch her?"

"Because Miley still has feelings for you cousin-in-law!" Freya looked angry. "A few days ago, your cousin received some photos showing your cousin-in-law going into a hotel with the woman!"

"..."

"..."

"I... fuck!" After making sure that she hadn't heard it wrong, Wendy almost jumped up, "What is going on? Is there really something going on between that woman and my cousin-in-law?"

"It's still unknown whether they have any kind of relationship but your cousin believes in him. She just feels strange about those photos and has forgotten about them." Freya glanced at Miley with anger. "But I can't pretend they don't exist! I don't know why this shrimp showed up at my wedding but it can't be wrong to watch her!"

Shrimp?

Wendy wanted to laugh but a great sense of mission stopped her.

She nodded solemnly. "I got it! Sis, I will watch Xia... the shrimp!"

Then, Freya calmly went on according to the wedding procedures.

Wendy was watching Miley like a closed circuit camera.

Joanne's enemy was her enemy! She wouldn't knock her enemy down. She would just beat her to death!

While Wendy was on her surveillance mission, Gavin was still surrounded by other best men and bridesmaids who tried to dig out more gossip about him and Wendy. They asked Gavin if he was claiming his possession by draping Wendy's shoulders with his coat.

But Gavin was skilled at debating and it only took him a few words to fend off their attacks. He glanced through the crowd and quickly noticed Wendy who was sneaking around.

He walked over and patted Wendy's shoulder from behind. "What are you doing?"

"Wow!" Wendy was terribly scared. She covered her chest and turned around to stare at Gavin, "Don't just scare people randomly!"

"It's daytime and you were so easily scared..." Gavin stared at Wendy with suspicion, "Are you being a thief?"

Wendy denied, "You're the thief! I'm just..."

When she was speaking halfway, she suddenly recalled Freya's words,"Joanne has just forgotten about the photos which showed Brian and Miley walking into the hotel together."

It was to say that even if there was something going on between Brian and Miley, Brian didn't know Joanne had received the photos.

But according to Gavin's relationship with Brian, Gavin would surely know something if there was really some unspeakable relationship between Brian and Miley.

If she honestly told him that she was spying on Miley, it would be indirectly telling Brian that Joanne knew about Miley's existence.

Gavin narrowed his eyes and looked at Wendy who was still hesitating. "Just what?"

He knew Wendy quite well so her actions were even stranger for him-a frank and direct girl like Wendy wouldn't even finish her words. It wasn't her style.

He glanced in the direction Wendy was looking and sharply captured a kind of familiar figure-Miley.

Miley was surely attending Chris's wedding in the name of the company. Wendy and Miley didn't know each other. Since she was secretly staring at Miley, it was easy for him to imagine that Joanne knew about her.

But as far as he knew, Brian had yet to tell Joanne about Miley, in case she would overthink about it.

Being the case, the reason why Joanne knew about Miley and the reason why Wendy watched Miley for Joanne's sake were unknown.

Thinking about that, Gavin quietly looked back and leisurely looked at Wendy.

Wendy had no idea that her secret had been cracked. She waited for a while and said with difficulty, "I'm just wondering... if I can have a rest. I'm so tired."

"Of course you can," Gavin said, "You can choose to enjoy the afternoon tea or a spa. Or you can just sleep in a room, do as you like."

Wendy nodded. Seeing Miley heading to the hotel, she hurriedly said, "I haven't decided yet. I'll go back to the hotel first!"

Gavin looked at Wendy's figure, then he shook his head and scolded inside, "Idiot."

She tried to lie when she was usually unable to hide anything. Her behavior clearly showed that she was following Miley.

Wendy was really watching Miley for Joanne's sake. It seemed to be getting more and more interesting.

On the other side, Wendy followed Miley back to the lobby of the hotel.

There was an open cafeteria on the south of the lobby. When looking through the windows, you could see most of the view of the garden. It was a good place to enjoy the afternoon tea.

Miley chose a place to sit down. Wendy tapped on her phone and sat beside Miley while pretending to be casual.

Apart from the prejudice she held, Wendy had to admit Miley was a glamorous woman.

She was tall and dressed in a long blue gown which not only flowed with her beautiful curves but it also enhanced her pure skin. Every move of hers showed her attractive elegance.

It was even rarer that there was a feeling of efficiency which added to her elegance.

Once she sat on the couch, Miley took over the laptop from her assistant. Her well-protected fingers tapped on the screen. She leaned over and held the phone between her ear and shoulder to talk about business matters on the phone with fluent German. Her words were brief and clear, with strong logic and mighty power.

What's more, her mighty power was just a symbol of her capability without a single attack, which not only raised other women's defense against her, but would spare hindering the brightness of men.

Such a woman couldn't be described with her smarts alone. There was nothing in the world she couldn't get as long as she wanted it.

If she really had feelings for Brian... Wendy thought the conditions wouldn't be as optimistic as she had imagined. Compared with Rosalyn, Miley was a stronger opponent.

At the time, Miley hung up the phone and passed the laptop to her assistant, "At what time is the appointment that you scheduled with Steven?"

"According to what Special Assistant Gavin said, Mr. Brian was free at 7 pm. You can have dinner together."

Miley thought for a second and said, "Cancel the arrangement I have from 5 to 6. I have to go back to the hotel to get prepared."

The assistant replied, "Okay."

Miley processed a couple of other things related with her job and then stood up. "Let's go out and see how the wedding is going." She had another mission, except for attending Chris's wedding for her company.

After Miley and her assistant had been gone for some time, Wendy realized Steven was Brian's English name, which was to say, Brian and Miley had an appointment to meet on the next day. From Miley's tone, they wouldn't be meeting for work.

If it were for work reasons, Miley wouldn't have to cancel the schedule before meeting Brian and getting dressed up for it.

There was no need to ask her why she knew Miley would go home earlier to dress up. She was also a woman and could definitely see what Miley had in mind.

At the moment, it seemed that she had to secretly ask Gavin about it the next time he saw him.

After making up her mind, Wendy walked out of the hotel and was dragged into a game. Maybe someone arranged it on purpose or it was just a coincidence. She became Gavin's partner once more.

Others wooed about it and claimed it to be destiny.

After getting along with this group of people for so long, Wendy understood that any sign of nervousness would be taken as admission about her obsession for Gavin.

After thinking for a minute, she just pretended that she couldn't understand their behavior and cooperated with Gavin. Then they won rounds of the game and made all the others lose terribly.

Gradually, the best men and bridesmaids lost in their efforts to tease. They just wailed miserably.

Wendy got happier and pulled Gavin. "I think we can still be partners in the following game!"

Gavin smiled.

Even if Wendy didn't say it, others would arrange for them to be partners!

Freya watched the show by the side and instantly understood Wendy's plan. She leaned over and said to Chris, "Wendy is much cleverer than we thought!"

Chris smiled. "Don't forget that she's a graduate from medical academy."

"But how could she fail to see Gavin likes her?" Freya racked her brain but still couldn't come up with an answer. She sighed. "When it comes to love, the ones involved never see things clearly--just like you couldn't see you had fallen in love with me long ago!"

"..."

Chris kneaded his temple and said to himself, "Everything your wife says is correct."
