Chapter 610 He Could Always Find a Way to be More of a Hooligan

It had been less than three days since Romy came to this world.

Not to mention understanding Brian's words, she might not even able to understand the concept of "speaking".

But her "um!" just then was just too ingenious, as if she was answering Brian.

Brian's heart became so soft, and the bottom of his eyes seemed to be covered with a layer of soft light, which was so gentle that it almost dripped.

He lowered his head, kissed her face, and carried her back to the room to change her into clean new clothes.

After taking a shower, the two little guys seemed to be much more relaxed. They kicked their legs in the crib and occasionally looked around curiously. Before long, they fell asleep.

Later, Iris brought Joanne's dinner over.

There was a cup of fragrant and appetizing chicken soup, as well as some light and tasty vegetables. It was well-balanced with nutrition.

In order not to disturb the two little guys, Joanne did not ask Iris to send dinner to the room, but went out to the restaurant to eat.

By the time she finished eating, the sky had already turned completely dark.

While Martha was cleaning up the tableware, Iris asked Joanne with concern, "How did you feel taking care of Aiden and Romy last night? Are you capable of taking care of them?"

Joanne and Brian both knew that Iris's question was a trap-she was waiting for them to complain.

As long as they said that it was too hard to take care of the two little guys in the middle of the night, Iris would definitely not leave tonight. She would stay in order to help them take care of the children.

The problem was that Iris could not sleep well here, but she was getting old and needed sufficient sleep to ensure her health.

Therefore, Brian and Joanne tacitly showed a relaxed expression.

Joanne smiled and said, "It's just getting up and changing their diapers or making a cup of milk powder. It won't be too hard to deal with. Mom, don't worry."

Iris's well-maintained face was suddenly full of disappointment, but she was still unwilling to give up. She confirmed, "Do you really not need me to stay and help?"

Joanne said euphemistically, "Tomorrow is Monday, Brian is going to work. So, Mom, we will need you during the day tomorrow."

Iris finally got a little comfort. She stayed for a while and left with Martha.

Joanne's cut was no longer so painful. She took a clean hospital gown and slowly walked to the bathroom.

Brian quickly noticed Joanne's movement and called her. "Do you want to take a shower?"

"I do want to wash, but Mom and the doctor won't agree." Joanne's beautiful face was full of helplessness. "I'll just change clothes and simply wash my hands and feet. You should watch Aiden and Romy so that they won't cry when they wake up."

Brian looked at the two little guys lying on the baby's bed. Both of them seemed to be asleep.

He walked to Joanne leisurely and looked at her deeply. "Aiden and Romy won't wake up for the time being."

Joanne felt that Brian's eyes were not that simple. She replied with an "oh" and was about to hide in the bathroom-

But in terms of speed, she was no match for Brian.

Relying on his height and long legs, Brian took a step ahead and blocked Joanne's way. He asked her meaningfully, "Are you sure you don't want me to help you?"

Joanne's face was flushed, and she pretended to glare at Brian angrily. "Rogue!"

Just when Brian was about to be a complete rogue, the phone on the bedside table suddenly vibrated gently and successfully diverted his attention.

Joanne took advantage of the time when he was not paying attention, went past him and hid in the bathroom. She locked the door as soon as possible to completely eliminate the opportunity for him to act like a hooligan.

Brian had to answer the phone.

The call was from Gavin. He told him something about work. After that, Joanne also changed her clothes and came out of the bathroom.

It was late. Joanne took a set of clean pajamas from the wardrobe and said, "Go take a bath and go to bed early. We still have to get up in the middle of the night to check on Aiden and Romy."

That night, Brian and Joanne woke up twice. The first time was when they were woken up by Romy. The second time was by the alarm clock set by Joanne to remind her to feed these two little guys.

In the past, if Brian was woken up twice in one night, according to Brian's temper-in his words, he would definitely deal with this problem.

However, after being woken up by Aiden and Romy, he didn't feel disturbed at all. Instead, when he got up, he seemed very glad. In the end, he would even watch the two little guys fall asleep before he returned to the bed.

The next day, Joanne couldn't help sighing to Brian. "Aiden and Romy are the ones who have changed you the most."

Brian raised his eyebrows. "Why did you say that?"

"I remember you hated being disturbed the most. But last night, Romy and Aiden disturbed you twice in a row, but you were not angry at all." The more Joanne said, the more magical she felt and the more curious she looked.

However, Brian looked more and more confused. "I hate being disturbed-when did you realize it?"

"Gavin told me," Joanne said without hesitation, "In the past, Gavin always said that he didn't dare to disturb you, for fear that you would send him to Africa or something."

"Oh." Brian raised his eyebrows and looked at Joanne. He said meaningfully, "To be more precise, I hate to be disturbed at certain times."

"Certain times?"

Joanne thought for a while and soon understood the "certain times" Brian was talking about. She blushed and turned her head away from Brian.

She finally discovered that when Brian became a hooligan, he would always find a way to be bolder!

Not long after, Aiden and Romy woke up one after the other. Joanne went to make milk for them, while Brian picked them up and changed their diapers.

After feeding the two little guys milk, Brian and Joanne's breakfast was also delivered. When they finished eating, it was exactly 8:20 a.m.

Joanne urged Brian, "You should be able to reach the company on time if you leave now."

Brian sat on the edge of the bed and played with the two little guys. He looked at the time and said slowly, "It's still early. There's no need to hurry."

Joanne thought that she had heard it wrong, but when she saw that Brian really had no intention of leaving, she was sure that he was really in no hurry to go to the company.

He just became a father, so it was understandable that he didn't want to go to the company, but-

"You're just being late so directly. Would it cause a bad effect?"

"No," Brian said as if nothing had happened, "There is Gavin anyway."

"..."

At that moment, Joanne felt sorry for Gavin.

In fact, Joanne was not the only one sympathizing with Gavin. There were also tens of thousands of other employees at Lambert Group' headquarters-

At nine o'clock in the morning on the top floor of Lambert Group.

The secretary sorted out the documents that Brian needed to deal with personally and sent them directly to Gavin's office.

Gavin couldn't count how many times it had happened today. The stuff which should have been sent to the president's office was all sent to him.

He couldn't bear it anymore. There was no need to bear it anymore!

Gavin broke out. "Daisy, don't you know that Mr. Brian needs to sign these documents in person?!"

"I know." Daisy shrugged her shoulders and said naturally, "But Mrs. Lambert has just given birth to a pair of twins, and I can easily predict that Mr. Brian will be late and leave early today. These documents will be handed over to you sooner or later. Anyway, you can imitate the president's signature perfectly!"

Gavin's body contained a fury that could destroy the world, but Daisy's words were so reasonable that his anger could not be vented at all. He could only drop the file and ask, "What time is it?"

Daisy looked at her watch and said in a more formal and standard tone than that of the radio announcement, "9:03 in the morning."

Gavin was so angry that he stared at her. "That is to say..."

"That's right. Mr. Brian is late." Daisy calmly continued Gavin's question. "It's conservatively estimated that Mr. Brian will arrive at the company at least after ten o'clock."

At this time, a shareholder of the company passed by Gavin's office. He saw Gavin who was about to explode through the transparent glass door and walked in with a smile. "Gavin, what's wrong?"

Daisy covered her mouth and coughed. "Director Zhang, Mr. Brian is late. Special Assistant Gavin is a little angry."

Director Zhang magically took out a cup of coffee and put it on Gavin's table. "It's not easy for Mr. Brian to become a father, so it's normal for him to be late for work or to leave early this half a month. Gavin, if you are too angry, it will cause a misunderstanding."

Gavin didn't respond for a moment. "What misunderstanding?"

Director Zhang patted Gavin on the shoulder and said, "The whole company is happy for Mr. Brian. If you are angry, it will easily make people think that you are jealous."

Daisy tried hard to hold back her laughter, but still failed. She burst into laughter. "Hahahaha..."

When Brian and Joanne were still not married, there had been rumors about him and Rosalyn. But some employees of Lambert Group knew very well what the rumors were about, so everyone's attention was not on the rumors about Brian and Rosalyn at all.

What they paid more attention to was why Brian and Gavin were always together.

Some people even boldly speculated that the reason why Brian allowed Rosalyn to hype was to cover up the fact that he and Gavin were a couple.

Later, the marriage between Brian and Joanne was exposed. In addition, they often showed off their love and abused the audiences, so the scandal between Brian and Gavin was finally broken.

Daisy remembered the days when the rumors about Brian and Gavin were rampant. So after hearing Director Zhang's words, she couldn't help laughing.

Gavin couldn't bear it anymore. He pointed to the door of the office and growled in a low voice, "Get out of here, both of you!"

After driving Director Zhang and Daisy away, Gavin found that it was useless. He could only continue to focus on the pile of documents.

Daisy was right. It was not until ten o'clock that Brian appeared in the company unhurriedly with a rare faint smile on his face. No matter who said hello to him or congratulated him, he smiled back and thanked them. The whole Lambert Group was full of signs of joy and delight.

The more Gavin looked at him, the angrier he became.

If he had known that as long as he had a son and a daughter, not only could he be late, but he also could be forgiven by anyone even if he was late for work, he would have had children dozen hundreds of years ago!

When he passed by Gavin's office, Brian walked in and said to Gavin, "Thank you for your hard work."

Gavin was furious. "How do you know how hard I've worked?"

Brian said flatly, "I just want you to get used to it-you may have to work hard for a while."
