Chapter 623 What a Bastard He Is (2)

Wendy didn't have time to think about anything. She grabbed her purse and said, "Let's go."

Only then did Connell realize that Wendy was going to leave with Gavin!

"Damn, what did Gavin say to her just now!?"

Thinking of this, Connell reached out his hand to stop Gavin. "You're cheating!"

"We only have one condition-she will leave with me." Gavin smiled as if nothing had happened. "Except for that, we have no other conditions. How can you say that I cheated?"

"I..."

What Gavin said was completely right. Connell was at a loss for words.

Gavin continued to say, "Besides, since I want to take her away, I have to say something to her. And I don't want you to hear that sentence. Do you still have any objections?"

"..."

This time, Connell was completely speechless.

Gavin had no time to talk nonsense with Connell. He boldly held Wendy's hand and walked out.

Judging from the conversation between Gavin and Connell, it was not difficult to guess that they were betting on whether Gavin could take Wendy away or not.

If it were in the past, Wendy might have been angry.

How could they treat her as a reward for the bet? She was a living person, not an object that could not breathe!

But at this moment, Wendy couldn't care about that. Her mind was preoccupied with Gavin's words that he had just whispered to her.

"It was found that Romy suffers from children's asthma and almost had an accident this morning."

How was that possible?

Although Joanne's pre-pregnancy reaction was very tremendous, in the following pregnancy test, her condition was completely normal. After the birth of Romy, she also had a baby examination, and there was nothing unusual.

"What's going on with the child's asthma?"

Seeing Wendy's absent-minded look, Gavin stretched out his hand and waved it in front of her face. "What are you thinking about?"

Only then did Wendy come to her senses and hurriedly asked, "How is Romy now?"

"Joanne found it in time, so she avoided generating an irreversible consequence." Gavin took a bottle of mineral water from the car, opened it, and handed it to Wendy. "It's just a mild child's asthma. As long as you take care of it carefully, there will basically be no big problems. You don't have to worry too much about it."

Wendy grabbed the water bottle and took a few gulps. Then she remembered the key issue. "Why did you come to me? Just to tell me this news?"

"Do I look like I have too much free time?" Gavin opened the door and gave Wendy an invitatory look. "Get in the car, and I'll find a place to tell you the details."

Gavin drove to a cafe nearby, parked the car, and led Wendy in.

The clerk obviously knew Gavin. She greeted him familiarly and asked with a smile, "Mr. Gavin, what would you like to drink today?"

Gavin ordered a cup of coffee. In the end, he turned to look at Wendy and said, "I just saw you drinking juice instead of wine. Do you still want to drink juice?"

Wendy knew that Gavin was deliberately teasing her. She was so angry that she suddenly didn't want to follow his words, so she ordered a cup of cocoa iced tea.

After getting the drinks, the two of them found a sofa and sat down.

Wendy put the straw in and asked directly, "Did my cousin-in-law ask you to come to me?"

That's right. Brian did say that he could ask Wendy for help.

However, Gavin hadn't intended to do that.

Even if he didn't see Wendy, he still kept thinking about her. What was the point of seeing her and torturing himself?

Gavin thought that he could control himself well, but it turned out that sometimes people liked to abuse themselves.

If Brian hadn't mentioned that Wendy could help him, it would have been fine. But after that, he couldn't help driving to Wendy's hospital.

Truthfully, he just didn't want to waste this reason to go to Wendy.

"That's right." Gavin took a sip of coffee and naturally put the reason on Brian. "Your cousin-in-law needs to find authoritative pediatric experts in children's asthma. After all, you are in the medical field. Maybe you know how to find the experts he needs."

Wendy thought for a moment and asked, "Have you brought a computer with you?"

"It's in the car." Gavin asked, "Do you need to use it?"

"Yes!" Wendy nodded. "Bring it to me!"

Gavin soon took the laptop that he carried with him. Wendy moved deeper into the other side of the sofa and motioned Gavin. "Sit next to me. I'll show you something."

She looked serious. So Gavin didn't want to think too much and naturally sat down beside her.

At that time, Wendy had already clicked open a website, which was full of English letters. There were professional terms everywhere, and even the laymen could probably tell that it was a medical forum.

"This is a forum which consists of the biggest number of famous doctors in the medical community. The editors of many medical magazines like to work undercover here. From time to time, they can catch several top-notch experts!" Wendy browsed through the pages and said, "Most importantly, experts from various departments are ranked every year. We can also see the SCI theses published by the experts. We can tell from them who are real experts and who are fake!"

Gavin liked it when Wendy talked about things related to medicine. There was a look of excitement in her eyes. He deliberately asked, "So?"

"So-" Wendy said firmly and confidently, "The experts found here must be authoritative!"

Gavin nodded and didn't say anything. He just focused on the side of Wendy's face.

Wendy didn't look like Dolly, but she had a different kind of beauty, especially her profile, which was clear but very soft. The warm light scattered down from the top of her head and the tip of her pure nose, which seemed to reflect a faint light that people couldn't take their eyes off.

When she was attentive, there was a huge contrast between her earnestness and her soft beauty, which made her look particularly cute.

Gavin realized that he was doomed.

He believed that he would never let go of Wendy in his whole life.

Wendy carefully looked through some papers and documents, then she took out her notebook and wrote down several names. When she clasped the pen cap, she found that Gavin was looking at her.

She slightly turned her head and met Gavin's eyes.

Gavin's facial features were very good, but the most beautiful part was his eyes.

His eyes were sharp. The eyelashes were not long, but black and thick. The most terrible thing was that the pair of eyes were both good and evil all year round. When he was serious, he made people feel that he was inviolable. But when he was evil, he impressed people badly, but they couldn't hate him.

Suddenly, Wendy's heart beat faster, as if her whole world was out of control.

Wendy blurted out when her heartbeat was out of control, "Why are you looking at me?"

Gavin didn't feel guilty at all. He just stared at Wendy and said, "It's right that I came to you."

Wendy thought that Gavin would say something else. She didn't expect that it was just such a bland sentence.

She admitted that she was disappointed, but she had to hide it well.

With that in mind, Wendy snorted with a little pride. "Of course you're right to come to me. Even if you don't believe me, you have to believe my cousin-in-law's judgment." Then she handed a note to Gavin. "Here, look."

There were six names on the note. Five of them were in English and one of them was in Chinese.

Gavin shook the note. "They are the experts you chose?"

"They are experts who have published theses on children's asthma." Wendy emphasized, "In terms of children's asthma, they are absolutely authoritative."

"Okay, I'll contact them according to your list." Gavin took the note and put it down. Then he asked, "Have you eaten yet?"

It seemed that Wendy just remembered it. "If you hadn't mentioned it, I would have forgotten about it. I haven't eaten yet."

Gavin frowned and seemed to be really dissatisfied. "Connell went to pick you up, but he didn't take you to dinner?"

Wendy looked at Gavin with confusion. "You..." "How did he know that Connell picked her up? And, is he caring about her?"

Wendy was still hesitating about how to ask, when Gavin suddenly said, "Connell is too bad at picking up girls!"

"..."

Wendy instantly fell silent.

It turned out that Gavin was not worried about her hunger, but was thinking about how Connell pursued a girl?

"What a bastard!"

Gavin turned off the computer and said to Wendy with a tempting look, "Let's go. I'll take you to eat something delicious."

Wendy wanted to show her backbone and refuse Gavin, but her stomach growled at this crucial time.

Gavin stared at Wendy for a second and said with a smile, "Let's go."

He took Wendy to a private restaurant and ordered three dishes and one soup. Wendy suddenly said, "I want to eat spicy crayfish."

The waiter looked embarrassed. "Miss, because the peak season of crayfish has passed, our restaurant didn't prepare crayfish today."

Wendy was disappointed. When she was about to give up, Gavin suddenly asked her, "Do you really want to eat it?"

Wendy nodded. "Yes, I don't know why but I just really want to eat it."

"It's not a big deal." Gavin took out his mobile phone and told the waiter, "Tell the chef to get prepared. I'll ask someone to bring some crayfish here."

"Okay." The waitress smiled. "Mr. Gavin, you are so nice to your girlfriend!"

Wendy was stunned and felt unprecedentedly embarrassed. When she was about to deny it, Gavin had already said, "Remove the word 'girl', and you are right about the rest."

The waiter was very brilliant and smiled apologetically. "I'm sorry, I misunderstood. Please wait a moment, I'll go and ask the chef to get prepared right away."

Gavin then made a phone call, and someone immediately sent over some meaty and tender crayfish. After the cook's treatment, the spicy and delicious crayfish was quickly served on the table.

Wendy had a bite, and found that it was impeccable, but she was not happy to eat it at all.

To remove the word "girl" meant that she was just a friend of Gavin.

"That's right. Before the matter of them being brother and sister was exposed, their relationship could only stop at friendship."

But after hearing Gavin's words, why was she still unhappy?

Wendy deeply doubted that she must be crazy.

Otherwise, why would she still want to be with Gavin even though she knew that Gavin was her brother?
