Chapter 689 I'm Satisfied, So I'm Not Sad

The doorbell rang in time.

"Oh!" Wendy pointed to the door. "Your suit should have been sent over."

Gavin tried to remove the messy thoughts from his mind. He looked at Wendy gloomily and stared at her mobile phone.

Wendy looked as if she would rather die than let go of the phone. "Don't blame me for not telling you. If you don't open the door now, you won't have any clothes to wear tomorrow."

What a damned girl!

Gavin couldn't do anything to Wendy, so he had to open the door.

Wendy held back her laughter and saved the series of photos into the encrypted album.

In this way, even if Gavin took away her mobile phone, he couldn't find any photos!

"Well, it is possible to use these photos to threaten Gavin, isn't it?"

On the other side, Gavin opened the door, and the staff of the dry cleaning shop handed the clothes to him with a big smile on his face. "Hello, I'm an employee of XXX Dry Cleaning Shop..."

Halfway through the sentence, when the man saw clearly the one-piece pajamas Gavin was wearing, he was stunned, and the next words were stuck in his throat...

Except for being against anthropology, there were no other shortcomings in the one-piece pajamas. It was loose, comfortable, and very cute. When a young girl wore it, she could instantly become a cute little thing who could act coquettishly.

However, this male guest's temperament really had nothing to do with... Loveliness.

Therefore, the staff should not be blamed for stammering.

The surprise in the staff's eyes explained everything, and Gavin's face sank even more.

"Thanks."

He took the bag and closed the door without hesitation.

Back in the living room, Wendy was still laughing happily.

"Wendy." Gavin's voice almost sparked. "Do you think I can't do anything to you?"

"..."

Wendy was so scared that she swallowed her saliva.

He was Gavin, Brian's most capable and omnipotent assistant. Of course, Wendy would not be so arrogant as to think that he could not deal with her.

"Ahem!" A wise man knows when to retreat. Wendy stopped laughing and said, "It's almost 12 o'clock. Go to sleep."

Gavin ordered coldly, "Help me take out the pillow and quilt."

Wendy bit her finger and said, "... You can sleep in the bedroom."

"Are you going to sleep in the living room?" Gavin chuckled. "You do know how to treat guests, but you don't have to. I..." He was a man after all. How could he let a girl sleep in the living room?

However, before he could finish his words, Wendy had interrupted him.

"I won't be so nice to you." Wendy pursed her lips. "I mean, I'll sleep on the bed, and you sleep on the floor."

Gavin felt speechless.

She let him enter the room and stay with her in the same room for a long night?

There were still a few hours before dawn. It was not a long time, but it was not short either. It was enough to make people lose control and do something irreversible.

Gavin covered up the strangeness in his heart and said coldly, "I like to sleep on the sofa better."

"But I'm scared..." Wendy looked up at Gavin. "Can you accompany me just tonight?"

Gradually, Gavin couldn't stand Wendy's begging anymore.

She didn't need to do too much. As long as she softened her voice and showed her weakness, the line of defense in his heart would fall apart.

It wasn't a good sign. Gavin knew it very well, but he didn't seem to have a solution.

"Just tonight."

Gavin comforted himself that after tonight, he would not indulge Wendy like this anymore.

Wendy carefully observed the look at the bottom of Gavin's eyes. Seeing that he didn't refuse, she grabbed his sleeve with a little excitement. "You agreed, didn't you?"

Gavin coldly emphasized. "I can't accompany you tomorrow."

"I can do everything alone tomorrow!" Wendy said with smiling eyes, "I'm not afraid at dawn!"

Gavin laughed and said, "Can you calculate how long you will be afraid?"

"Uh-huh." Wendy folded her hands behind her back and raised her head with a mysterious smile. "This is a special function that only girls have!"

Actually, she didn't have any special functions.

It was just because she knew that after tonight, even if she was still afraid, Gavin would not accompany her anymore.

He had a girlfriend, so she couldn't pester him every day and ask him to stay with her.

Wendy went back to the room and quickly made a bed on the floor. She poked her head out of the room and called Gavin, "Okay, come in."

Gavin went back to the room. Although the bed was simple, the quilt and pillow emitted the fragrance of Wendy. He should have a good sleep.

"I don't have many things here. That's all I can do." Wendy had tried her best and said helplessly, "Will you manage to spend the night here?"

"That's enough." Gavin gave Wendy a reassuring look. "Go to sleep."

Wendy smiled, got into bed, and said, "Good night!"

Gavin turned off the bed lamp and lay down. "Good night."

The room fell into silence, and only their breathing could be heard.

Wendy didn't fall asleep. She opened her eyes and looked at the ceiling. She suddenly remembered that this wasn't the first time she had spent a whole night with Gavin.

Last time, she was on her first night shift.

The first time was when they were on the island.

On the island, Gavin had abruptly lost control and kissed her.

Ever since she knew that Gavin was her brother, she had been pretending that she didn't remember it.

In fact, she remembered clearly the temperature of Gavin's lips, the frequency of his breathing, and even his strength when he pressed himself on her body.

She was afraid that she would never forget it in this life.

During the first two times, because of Gavin's company, she could sleep soundly.

But this time, she might lose sleep.

After a long while, Wendy whispered to Gavin, "Are you asleep?"

"..." Gavin didn't answer her.

Wendy found out her phone and lit up the screen. It was one o'clock in the morning.

"Gavin should have fallen asleep, right?"

Wendy quietly turned over to the bedside and poked her head out to look at Gavin.

He had turned his back to the bed, so she couldn't see his face, but he didn't seem to be awake.

Besides, if he was still awake, why didnt he answer her?

Wendy lifted the quilt, quietly got out of bed, stepped over Gavin, and sat down beside him.

She had to admit that Gavin was the kind of person whose beauty had no loose ends. Even if he was lying still, he was particularly charming.

Wendy knelt on the ground, bent down carefully and kissed Gavin's lips.

No matter how much she loved him, he would never belong to her.

Knowing this very well, Wendy quickly got up and walked out of the room.

However, Wendy had already been very satisfied. At least in her memory, for the rest of her life, she had been very close and intimate to the person she loved.

After taking the hypnotics, Wendy went back to her room and soon fell asleep.

Gavin opened his eyes now.

He could restrain himself when he stayed in the same room with the girl he liked, but it was not so easy to fall asleep.

He sat up, sighed in his heart, and turned to look at Wendy on the bed.

She must have gone out to take medicine before curling up in bed with satisfaction and breathing evenly. It was obvious that she would not wake up before dawn.

Gavin tucked her in and looked at her in the dim light. There was a burst of something in his heart.

He longed to get close to Wendy, hug her and kiss her...

Nevertheless, the blood relationship was like a barrier between them. Once he broke through the barrier, Wendy on the other side would be injured.

He had to take Wendy into consideration.

In the end, Gavin didn't do anything. He just lay down and soon fell asleep.

Time passed very quickly. The morning light of the next day dispelled the darkness when citizens were dreaming, and a new day came.

Wendy was awakened by the alarm clock. She turned off the alarm clock in a daze and struggled to get up from the bed. Subconsciously, she was about to take off her pajamas and find the clothes she would wear today in the wardrobe.

At that moment, the door was pushed open.

Wendy responded with an "oh" and quickly put down her hand that had grabbed the hem of her clothes. She looked at Gavin with sleepy eyes and said, "I almost forgot that you're here..."

"Get up," Gavin said, "breakfast has been sent here."

After breakfast, Gavin said, "I'm going to the company. Do you need me to drive you to the hospital?"

"I don't have work until ten o 'clock today, so I needn't go so early," Wendy said, "you go first."

Gavin answered with a "hmm". He took out all the cash from his wallet and handed it to Wendy.

"Why are you giving me money again?" Wendy was confused. "You already gave it to me yesterday."

"Aren't you too lazy to go to the bank? Spend it first." Gavin put the money directly on the table.

Wendy stared at the small pile of cash and said thoughtfully, "You stayed here for one night and left money to me the next day, um..."

Hearing this, Gavin already knew what Wendy was thinking. He raised his hand and knocked on Wendy without hesitation. "Can you think of something useful at such a young age? I'm leaving."

Wendy covered her head and followed Gavin out. She watched him enter the elevator and pretended to close the door.

In fact, her door was not closed at all. Instead, she had been standing behind the door all the time.

After a while, Wendy pushed the door open, but she couldn't see Gavin at all. The elevator door was tightly closed. He had already left.

Wendy persuaded herself to accept this fact and returned to the empty house.

In the laundry basket of the bathroom, there were still the clothes that Gavin had taken off yesterday. They were all made of fabric that could only be washed by hand.

Wendy washed them one by one and hung them out on the balcony.

In the morning light, the white shirt dripping with water was particularly clean and nice. When Wendy got close to it, she was able to smell Gavin's scent from the shirt.

He has so many clothes, and his schedule is so tight. So, he probably wouldn't remember that he had left clothes here, would he?

Coincidentally, she was about to take his clothes as her own!

After hanging her clothes out, Wendy went back to the room and opened the wardrobe. There was a one-piece rabbit nightgown in the small compartment for her pajamas. It and the squirrel pajamas she forced Gavin to buy yesterday were a couple's pajamas.

She swore that before forcing Gavin to buy it, she didn't know they were a couple's pajamas. She just thought it was beautiful.

However, Gavin also bought a rabbit pajama for Blake. They would wear it together, wouldn't they?

She really didn't know whether Gavin did it on purpose or not. He just cut off her secret thought.

After changing her clothes, Wendy took her bag, put on her headphones, and went straight into the subway station.

Just let it end like this. She would bury her love for Gavin deep in her heart.

She wasn't sad.

Without a lover, she still had dreams and family. In the future, she could often see Gavin. At the very least, she still had the memory of last night.

Compared with many other people who failed to stay with the persons they longed for, she was already very lucky.

Because she was satisfied, she was really not sad.
