Chapter 702 Living Together? That's the Most Devastating Weapon!

The next morning, Gavin returned from the hotel to his apartment.

He was wearing the same clothes as yesterday, but his hairstyle had been meticulously arranged, and his shirt was not messy at all. He was still handsome and charming.

The moment he entered the living room, he saw the figure on the sofa.

Although Wendy was thin, she was 1.68 meters tall. At this moment, she had shrunk into a small ball on the sofa, looking like a child, a wounded girl.

Gavin went back to his room and took out a new set of clothes to change into. On the way to the bathroom, he stopped and glanced at Wendy. He asked lightly, "Why did you get up so early?"

"I have been waiting for you." Wendy looked up at Gavin. "You didn't come back last night."

She looked extremely haggard, and her eyes were bloodshot. It was obvious that she had not slept well.

Gavin frowned. "Didn't you sleep?"

"I can't fall asleep." Wendy looked at Gavin stubbornly. "Last night, you were with Blake, right?"

"Is there something wrong with that?" Gavin asked, "she is my girlfriend."

Wendy lowered her head and said, "No."

Precisely because it was not strange that they were a couple and what they had done was justifiable, Wendy was even more sad.

Wendy lowered her head, her mind empty and her eyes red.

"It's stupid to cry over such a thing, isn't it?"

Wendy didn't want to be stupid anymore, so she could only persuade herself not to think about it. She tried to distract herself with something else. "Can you give the job back to that security guard?"

"No," Gavin said coldly, "he has gone back to his hometown."

"..."

Wendy didn't know whether this job was important to the security guard or not. She didn't know if he could find a better job after losing this one, either.

But she knew that Gavin shouldn't take out his anger on an innocent person.

"Gavin, you jerk!" Wendy couldn't help crying. "Why did you do this?"

"It's you who is being even more unreasonable," Gavin said, "you don't have to pay the price for your willfulness, but someone else has to."

"Nonsense! If you hadn't complained, it would have all been fine. You did it on purpose!" Wendy stood up and glared at Gavin. "Do you think you can make me feel guilty and let me go?"

"..."

Wendy was right. That was what Gavin was really considering.

But at this moment, he suddenly had a bad feeling.

"You're dreaming!" Sure enough, Wendy emphasized his words with an unconvinced look, "Gavin, the more you act like this, the more I won't go. I can find the security guard and give him all the money you gave me, but I won't go!"

Gavin asked, "What if I tell you that I want to live with Blake?"

"..."

Wendy was in a daze.

"Is Gavin going to live with Blake?

"Damn it, this is the most devastating blow!"

Wendy was tossed into a bottomless abyss. After a long time, she came to her senses and struggled to resist. "I still won't go. The worst thing is that Blake knows that I like you."

"You're still working as an intern," Gavin threatened. "If your colleagues and patients know that you like your brother, do you think they will still trust you?"

Wendy was not afraid of it. She laughed, walked over to Gavin and said slowly, "If you're willing to ruin my reputation, just let Blake move in."

Yes, not only was she not afraid of Gavin's threat, she had also turned to threaten him.

Gavin had to admit that Wendy had hit his sore spot.

His bottom line was Wendy's reputation and personal safety. He was trying to avoid all this. What he had just said was a threat to Wendy, but Wendy was smarter than he had imagined and knew that he would not be so cruel.

Gavin shook his head. "Wendy, you're simply beyond redemption."

But he was the only one who knew that in fact, he had already incurably fallen in love with her.

Wendy said with a look of disagreement, "No, you'll fix me! By the way, if you don't come back tonight, I'll come and find you."

After that, Wendy returned to her usual appearance and rushed into the bathroom to wash.

Gavin threw the coat on the sofa and sat down with a headache.

He had to now admit that he couldn't deal with Wendy.

Because he could never bear to really hurt her.

Since it had been such a rough morning, Wendy wasn't expecting to have breakfast with Gavin. She searched his coat pocket and found her domestic driver's license, then took it away and left.

She didn't go to the hospital. Instead, she took a taxi home. After looking through the information on her cell, she found the parking lot number sent by Freya and searched for it. Sure enough, she saw the white Porsche Panamera on the parking lot.

She finally had her own car!

Wendy got in the car without hesitation, and after getting familiar with the controls, she drove directly to the hospital.

At the same time, Gavin was still at home.

After thinking about it for a long time, he called Blake and invited her to lunch at noon.

At noon, Blake arrived early at the restaurant that she had made an appointment at with Gavin. To her surprise, Gavin had already arrived.

Blake was very confused. "Why don't we meet in the afternoon? I only have two hours available at noon, so I can't have a good chat with you."

"I just need you to do something for me," Gavin answered.

"What is it?" Blake asked in a soft voice, "tell me. As long as I can do it, I will help you."

"Tell Wendy that we were together last night." After a pause, Gavin added, "You can act like something's happening between us. I will cooperate with you. You can even tell Wendy that I want to get engaged to you."

Blake was stunned.

When Gavin confessed to her that day, thinking of the photos she had received the day before, she had already guessed it.

It was really Wendy.

She wisely pretended to be stunned and looked at Gavin incredulously. "So, it is Wendy, right? Aren't you her half-brother?"

"She knew me for a long time before she knew that I was her brother, so she wrongly developed feelings for me," Gavin said, "I need you to let her know the truth."

"You don't have a solution?" Blake pondered for a moment before saying very understandingly, "In terms of love, sometimes you can't control yourself, let alone outsiders. Besides, this is between you and Wendy. It will be better for you to deal with it. I don't want to hurt Wendy."

Gavin said helplessly, "I tried, but it was in vain."

Blake nodded. "I see. I... I'll give it a try."

"You can be excessive with her," Gavin said, "I just want her to give up."

"I don't think I should be too cruel." Blake shook her head. "You know, Wendy is the kind of girl that people can't bear to hurt. But, I want to ask you a question. Why do you dare to tell me?"

Gavin just replied, "I believe you."

Blake smiled and pursed her lips. "Well, since you believe me, I'll try my best to help Wendy." She looked at the time and said, "It's getting late. I'll first go back to the hospital."

Gavin sent Blake back to the hospital. He watched her walk in and asked the driver to take him back to the company.

He sincerely believed that Blake could make Wendy give up.

An afternoon passed by smoothly.

Wendy yawned as she took her bag and left the office.

Early that morning, she drank a cup of espresso while pinching her nose. In the afternoon, she drank a big cup of American coffee which was as effective as an espresso. Finally, she held on until she got off work.

Now she just wanted to return and sleep in bed until tomorrow.

When Wendy yawned and walked out of the elevator, Blake suddenly appeared in front of her. He called out to her, "Wendy!"

Wendy was caught off guard and therefore was scared out of her wits. "Blake..."

"Did I scare you?" Blake took Wendy's hand and said, "I'm sorry."

Wendy felt lively enough to drive. She shook her head indifferently and said, "It's okay. There's nothing to apologize for."

"As long as you don't blame me." Blake smiled and said, "Yesterday morning, something unpleasant seemed to happen between you and your brother. I asked your brother, but he didn't want to tell me about it. Have you reconciled with each other now?"

Wendy curled her lips and said, "I won't make peace with him."

"I persuaded your brother this morning," Blake said, "and when he left, he promised me he would have a good talk with you today."

A picture suddenly appeared in Wendy's mind: Gavin and Blake intimately snuggled up with each other, making everyone jealous.

She froze and refused to think about it. She also refused to let Blake get close to her.

Blake had once been intimate with Gavin, and she was afraid that she would lose control of herself.

Wendy shook her off unnaturally and said, "Thank you, but Gavin and I... You can't solve our problem."

Blake was stunned. "Wendy, do you think I'm being nosy?"

"No, I didn't mean that." Wendy was upset and didn't want to get any closer to Blake. "I'll go first."

She no longer cared about Blake and turned to leave.

Blake looked at Wendy's back, and the tenderness and smile on her face disappeared little by little, like the fading light of the setting sun reflected on a wall.

She was just wondering if she should go after Wendy when her phone rang. It was a call from one of her friends.

The friend said in an anxious tone, "Blake, I want to ask you something. Aren't you working in the Eighth Hospital? I have a relative who is going to have an operation there soon. The main surgeon is Doctor Xu of the cardiac surgery department. Do you think I should...?"

Blake was about to say something, when she turned on the iPad to have a check and saw that the assistant for the operation was Wendy.

She replied. "You'd better do it. In this case, the doctor will do his best with the operation."

"That's what I said!" The friend smiled. "But I heard that doctors usually don't accept it in person. What should I do?"

"You can give it to the assistant," Blake said, "tell the assistant to hand it over to the surgeon. The surgeon will understand."

"That's a good idea! Thank you. I knew it. I was right to ask someone working at the hospital!"

"You're welcome." Blake then warned her friend,"However, it's not proper to speak publicly about this kind of thing. So, don't tell others that it was me who told you to do this."

"Okay, okay. Don't worry. Of course I understand this rule." After a pause, her friend asked again, "But who should I hand it to since there are so many assistants?"

Blake looked at the personnel list. Wendy was the only intern.

She smiled and said, "Give it to one of the interns. They are not experienced, so it's relatively easy for them to trust patients and their family members."
