Chapter 729 Wendy, I Love You

Wendy lowered her head and confessed, "Yes, I know that my right hand can't be cured. You don't have to try to hide it from me anymore."

Gavin squatted down in front of Wendy and looked at her. "When did you know it?"

She didn't look up. She didn't want to answer Gavin's question.

She was afraid. She was afraid that Gavin's kindness and pampering for her these days was only because of guilt and sympathy, instead of his love for her as she had thought.

She didn't want to take advantage of her injuries to ask for Gavin's company, which was simply an insult to her feelings.

"Wendy," Gavin said, "speak."

Wendy didn't speak. Her eyes became dry and tears welled up in her eyes.

She lowered her head and shed tears silently, and the teardrops as big as beans fell on the quilt one after another. With a "pa" sound, the tear was like a drumstick hitting Gavin's heart heavily.

In the end, Gavin couldn't bear to ask any more questions. He raised his hand to wipe her tears away, but Wendy brushed off his hand.

He was stunned-in his memory, this was the first time that Wendy had refused his approach.

However, if it weren't for him, Wendy wouldn't have been hurt like this, let alone have lost the qualification to hold a scalpel.

Deep in her heart, Wendy must hate him. Because of her complicated feelings for him, she couldn't blame him.

Thinking of this, Gavin stiffly withdrew his hand and looked at her from a distance.

"Gavin, I would rather have a crippled right hand than let you pity me." Wendy looked at Gavin resolutely and said, "You can go now."

On the first day of her hospitalization, Wendy tried her best to make Gavin stay.

But now, she was actually chasing him away, using such an absurd and ridiculous excuse.

Things seemed to be different from what Gavin had thought. He looked at Wendy in confusion and asked, "Do you know what you're talking about?"

"Of course I know. I also know why you took care of me and why you treated me so well." Wendy looked at Gavin ridiculously. "You pity me just because my right hand was disabled! Gavin, I don't want you to treat me so well because of sympathy!"

"Disabled? Nonsense!" Gavin grabbed Wendy's shoulders. "It's still possible for your hand to recover. You need to cooperate with the doctor's treatment. Don't think too much, and don't give up at this time."

"Dr. Zhang is one of the domestic authoritative orthopedists." Wendy smiled and said, "He said that there was no way, which meant there was no hope. He asked you to find experts to hold a consultation, because he needed to give you a glimmer of hope to comfort you. Don't be silly!"

The last sentence was exactly something that Wendy wanted to say to herself.

She was a doctor. She knew better than ordinary people that in this world, there were many diseases that couldn't be cured no matter how much money was spent and there were also injuries that could never be recovered. There were too many helpless things.

Health was like a lover who had left. If it was gone, people would lose it. Even if they lied to themselves, it would not be able to come back.

In order to be a doctor, she fell out with Dolly. She studied hard in the medical college, and overcame her fear and discomfort. Finally, she could put on the white gown that she had always dreamed of, even though she was still wearing an intern's card on the chest.

Nevertheless, even if she was just an intern, she was still one step closer to her dream.

Now, what was the use of recovering her student's document and internship? She was no longer qualified to be a doctor.

When there was no love, she comforted herself that she still had a dream.

Now, her dream had also become out of reach.

She had nothing left. She had lost everything.

Then, just let Gavin go. Anyway, he would never love her. He would finally leave her.

It was better to meet her doomsday when she had lost everything and make her suffer once and for all.

Gavin clearly saw that the light in Wendy's eyes was slowly darkening, like stars falling from the sky and never shining.

She was giving up on everything, including him and herself.

Joanne hid her injury from Wendy because she was afraid that she would break down. The fact in front of his eyes proved that Joanne's worry was not unnecessary.

He looked into Wendy's eyes and motioned for her to calm down. "Wendy, things are not what you think..."

"Stop it!" Wendy pushed Gavin away with all her strength, like a lion suddenly losing its temper. "Gavin, you and Blake were obviously fake lovers, but you don't dare to admit it, just because you're afraid that I will pester you, do you? You want to continue to use her, because maybe you can cheat me someday! You don't have to work hard to pretend anymore. I won't pester you anymore. I don't want your sympathy and pity. You can go now, go!"

Gavin narrowed his eyes in surprise. "When did you find it out?"

It was no wonder that a few days ago, Wendy dared to pester him unscrupulously and questioned his relationship with Blake. It turned out that she had known everything.

Wendy was desperate and said with a smile, "The lies will always be exposed. How long do you think you can lie to me? Now, you don't have to worry about me pestering you. Don't worry. Just go. Don't come again. Not to mention that my right hand is disabled, even if I am wholly paralyzed, I don't need your sympathy!"

Gavin stared at Wendy and asked, "Who told you that I just sympathized with you?"

"Then why did you use Blake to lie to me? Why didn't you accept me?" Wendy became out of control and shouted, "It's my business that I knocked into the green belt. It has nothing to do with you, and you don't need to feel guilty and be responsible for it. You don't have to take care of me anymore. Just go!"

Wendy stubbornly drove Gavin away again and again.

If her right hand could never recover, he would blame himself for the rest of his life.

However, she didn't want Gavin to live the rest of his life while feeling guilty, and she didn't need him to be good to her because of self-blame.

Either, he was purely good to her.

Or, he could simply leave her.

She didn't want Gavin to bear the consequences of the car accident with her. She was going to suffer for the rest of her life. She didn't want him to blame himself for the rest of his life.

Every word of Wendy was like a sharp knife stabbing into his heart. He looked at Wendy and said, "Wendy, calm down."

"I'm very calm." Wendy cried and laughed. She smiled with tears streaming down her cheeks, "Gavin, I don't hate you, nor do I blame you. But don't pity me, or I will only be sadder. Can you leave here? Don't come to see me again. We don't have to make things difficult for each other. I..."

All of a sudden, Gavin held Wendy in his arms and kissed her on the lips as if he were possessed.

Wendy only felt a warm touch on her lips. When she realized, she was stunned and speechless. Her pupils enlarged in disbelief, so she could feel more clearly that Gavin was really kissing her.

Did... Did he know what he was doing?

Gavin knew what he was doing and also what the consequences would be.

But he could not stop or take it back.

He believed that it was not the biggest blow for Wendy when he protected and believed Blake, because she knew the truth and knew that she was innocent.

However, the fact that her hand could not recover and she could no longer hold the scalpel was the biggest blow for her.

Wendy couldn't bear such a big blow, and Gavin couldn't let her face the cruelest thing alone. He couldn't leave her at this time, even if he had always hoped that Wendy could take the initiative to give up on him.

Gavin felt as if he had been obsessed. He wrapped his arms around Wendy harder and harder, pried open her teeth, and deepened the kiss uncontrollably.

It was obviously an opportunity to distance himself from Wendy, but Gavin held her tightly in his arms like he had imagined in his dream.

At this time, Gavin realized that the reason why he had allowed Wendy to mess around these days was not guilt, but that his bottom line and defense line were collapsing.

She was just a student who had not graduated yet. She had the courage to get rid of the shackles of blood relationship, ignore the opinions of the secular world, and stubbornly pursue what she wanted.

He clearly loved her and wanted her, but why couldn't he be as courageous as Wendy all the time?

Why did he have to completely lose control when she stubbornly drove him away instead of playing tricks and asking him to stay?

Gavin's reason and self-control were smashed into powder instantly. He held Wendy's face, moved away from her lips, and kissed off the tears on her face. "Wendy, that's not the case."

Feeling the warmth of Gavin's lips, Wendy was so shocked that she lost her voice. She could only ask him in her heart, "What is the case?"

Gavin kissed Wendy's red eyes and said, "I admit that I do blame myself. But it's not because I sympathize with you that I stayed to take care of you and was nice to you."

Wendy felt that one of her nerves was trembling. She calmed down, moved her lips a few times, and finally found her voice. "Then why would you take care of me?"

"..."

"..."

"I love you." Gavin looked into Wendy's eyes, and said word by word, clearly and firmly, "Wendy, I love you."

"..."

How much she was surprised was as great as the difference between loving her and liking her.

These three words were like a beam of sunshine shining into her life. The despair and dead silence in her eyes finally faded away. Her beautiful almond-shaped eyes were becoming vital and lively little by little, like the earth which had been just blown by the spring wind.

If she saw correctly, Gavin's eyes were red.

If he had not truly loved her, why would he cry while confessing his love?

Wendy was like a person who had been stubbornly traveling alone. She crossed mountains and rivers, went through the thorns, went over hills, crossed deep waters and dangers, and experienced the worst things. Finally, she found the person she was looking for.

She could not help crying, but it was different this time.

This time, she cried with happiness.

She ignored the wounds on her body and threw herself into Gavin's arms. Gavin lowered his head and contained her lips in his mouth, absorbed her scent bit by bit, and swallowed her breath.

Wendy took the initiative to open her teeth. Her lips and teeth were intertwined with Gavin's, and their breaths were mixed with each other's.

At that moment, as long as she could feel Gavin's existence, she was willing to do anything.

Wendy had thought that she was experienced in kissing-she had watched many kissing scenes on TV.

Only when she was really kissing Gavin did she realize that it was not an easy thing.

Gavin was like a beast that had been accumulating his strength for a long time. He squeezed everything out of her body without giving her any time to breathe. Not long after, she felt as if she could not breathe anymore.

However, she didn't want to push Gavin away. Even if she was suffocating, as long as she was in Gavin's arms, she was willing...
