Chapter 735 I'll Let You Know What It Meant To Be Really Arrogant

Wendy sneered madly in her heart.

According to Blake's logic, the wound on her right hand could be blamed on her, but she had never planned to do so.

Since they were both grown-ups, they'd better take responsibility for their actions and choices instead of blindly hating others, right?

"Wendy." Blake walked over with a grim look and said, "Don't look at me like that. Do you think you won?"

Wendy tilted her head indifferently. "Have we ever had a match? If yes, it seems that I did win. But I'm not surprised at all. What are you excited about?"

What she meant was that there was no doubt that she could beat Blake. It was not surprising or amazing to her at all. On the contrary, it seemed that Blake had never figured out the situation.

"Wendy!" Blake shouted in a low voice. Her beautiful eyes were filled with surging hatred. "You've gone too far just because you have a good background!"

Blake had always thought that she had already driven Wendy into her doom. If it hadn't been for the sudden intervention of Lambert Group in this matter, the person who was being despised by the public would have been Wendy instead of her!

Wendy really couldn't understand such a strange logic. She laughed sarcastically and said, "Why do you like to blame others? Why don't you say that you think too highly of yourself and are too proud? Also, if you have no high IQ, don't play tricks. Otherwise, if the truth is revealed, you will be the one to suffer."

"Don't put on airs and teach me a lesson. You're just lucky to have a backer like Lambert Group!" Blake's eyes were wide open, full of unwillingness, looking as if she wanted to swallow Wendy alive.

"You know that I have such a powerful backer as Lambert Group, but why did you still plot against me?" Wendy looked at Blake and asked, "Are you coming to make a joke?"

Blake looked at Gavin sadly and desperately.

She had thought that she could win this man's heart, and that this man could at least protect her.

But in the end, for the sake of Wendy, he saw others throw her into hell with his own eyes, but he was completely indifferent.

She had thought that she had met the gentlest man in the world, but actually, he was the most ruthless man in the world.

For a moment, Blake seemed to be ignited by anger. She rushed to Wendy and said, "Wendy, I hate you!"

Wendy had no doubt that if Blake held a knife in her hand at this moment, she would stab it into her heart without hesitation.

What was even more terrifying was that her right leg had not yet recovered, so she could not run away!

Nevertheless, Gavin was standing behind her.

Gavin quickly pushed Wendy away and stopped Blake who was rushing over. He gave Blake a hard push, which made her retreat awkwardly and almost fall onto the grass.

"Gavin!" Blake yelled hysterically. "Why did you treat me like this?! Why?!"

"It's you who violated our cooperation agreement." Gavin remained unmoved. "Besides, I've never intended to treat you in any other way."

Only then did Blake realize that the reason why Gavin took care of her like a gentleman and made her comfortable was that he treated her as his partner.

In other words, Gavin was not being nice to her, but was trying to maintain cooperation.

However, Gavin should not have let her misunderstand that he liked her, and he should not have gotten her into such a big trouble!

"I hate you!" Blake roared hysterically. "Gavin, Wendy, I curse that you're doomed to tragedy!"

Wendy calmly pointed to the sky and said, "God is busy. If you speak louder, he might hear you."

Blake sneered and said, "Wendy, I swear that you won't be arrogant for long!"

"Really?" Wendy said with a slight smile, "I don't believe it."

As soon as she finished her words, Wendy called the security guards to drive Blake away.

Wendy took a sigh of relief and looked innocent. "Since she thinks I'm arrogant, I'll show her what it means to be really arrogant."

Gavin smiled helplessly. "Let's go back to the ward. You should rest early today."

Wendy nodded. "OK."

Gavin pushed Wendy and was about to leave. As soon as he turned around, a magnetic male voice came from behind him. "Gavin."

The voice was very strange, so Wendy subconsciously judged that it came to bother them again. She impatiently said, "Who is it again? Can you not be so annoying? It's so late!"

Gavin pushed Wendy and turned back, and Wendy saw clearly who it was.

It was a man.

He was a little taller than Brian, and as good-looking as Chris. He wore dark casual clothes, a pair of intimidating boots, and his black short hair. He exuded a dark and mysterious aura, appearing to be celibate. This man made it hard for people to breathe.

He was like the mysterious and powerful character in a TV series. He lived like a legend and rarely showed up. But when he appeared, it must be because of great incidents, or someone's fate would be changed.

However, he was not as amiable as the actors in the TV series. He was too mysterious and dangerous, which was so terrifying!

This man was like the King of Darkness who had just come out of the gate of hell. Even the gods and Buddhas couldn't resist him. He was cold-blooded and cruel. Even if there were blood flowing like a river in front of him, he wouldn't blink.

Wendy was so scared that she was in a daze. She held Gavin's hand tightly and asked, "Can, can... can you defeat him?"

Gavin shook his head. "To be honest, I can't."

Wendy almost cried and said, "Then let's run!"

But Gavin just asked calmly, "Don't you remember him?"

Wendy said in confusion, "Ah?" After thinking about it carefully, she remembered that she seemed to have seen this person at the birth of Aiden and Romy. And on the island, Yuna had called him Brother Wesley!

Wendy finally remembered that he was Wesley, but on the island, he didn't seem to be so terrifying!

Wendy asked in a trembling voice, "How did he become so terrifying?"

Gavin shrugged and said, "He has been like this since Yuna left. Oh, he had been like this before Yuna got close to him."

Before Wendy could understand Gavin's words, Wesley had already come over. She subconsciously called out respectfully, "Brother Wesley!"

Wesley felt that there was something wrong with Wendy's voice, so he asked, "Is she injured so badly?"

"It's quite serious," Gavin said, "but she is more scared by you."

Wesley said with a look of indifference, "What does it have to do with me?"

Wendy hurriedly shook her head and said, "Brother Wesley, it's none of your business!"

It was all her fault for being so timid. It had nothing to do with Wesley!

Wendy promised that even if she were given nine lives, she wouldn't dare to blame Wesley.

Gavin stroked Wendy's head and said to Wesley, "I'll send her back first."

After entering the elevator, Wendy asked in confusion, "Why do you send me back to the ward first? What are you going to do with Brother Wesley?"

"He came to me probably for some reason," Gavin said, "but he didn't say it out in front of you, which means that you shouldn't listen to it. You stay in the ward."

Before she could protest, Gavin had already left the ward.

Wesley was downstairs in the inpatient building of the orthopedics department. Gavin soon found him and asked directly, "What's the matter?"

"How is Wendy's injury?" Wesley asked in reply.

Gavin shook his head. "The experts have had a consultation, but the result is not satisfying. I plan to..."

"Stop it." Wesley interrupted Gavin, "Give me the results of Wendy's examination."

"You?" Gavin looked at Wesley in disbelief.

Wesley was a man of few words, and he only said two words, "My friend."

Gavin had to be cautious when it came to Wendy's life. He asked the nurse to fetch the results of Wendy's examination and asked Wesley, "Can you tell me in detail about your friend?"

"He has learned traditional Chinese medicine from his elders since he was a child. He may find a cure for diseases which Western medicine can't cure." Wesley said, "You can trust him."

"I really can't trust a person I've never met." Gavin smiled and added, "But I trust you."

Wesley glanced at Gavin and said, "So, I should thank you?"

"No, I should thank you." Gavin paused for a moment and then asked tentatively, "Did you come to Arlington just for Wendy?"

"There's something else." Wesley obviously had no intention of talking about it. "Go upstairs and keep Wendy company. I'm leaving."

"Wait." Gavin stopped Wesley. "How sure is your friend in curing Wendy's injury?"

Perhaps because of his growing environment, Gavin didn't care about the gains and losses of some things. He would have a casual attitude to the meeting and parting of people around him.

This was the first time that he had been so cautious as to ask Wesley for confirmation. Wesley saw how nervous he was about Wendy.

"Don't worry too much." Wesley said, "Buddy snuck out and broke its leg before, and he set the broken bone for it."

Buddy Hayes was a Samoyed in Wesley's family.

Gavin wanted to beat him, but when he thought that he couldn't defeat Wesley at all, he just said, "Get out!"

Wesley calmly turned around and walked away, while Gavin went back to the ward.

Wendy had been waiting for Gavin. As soon as she saw him, she asked, "What are you talking about? You just talked for so long."

Gavin reported Wesley's words to Wendy with a complicated look. Of course, he didn't forget to emphasize that Buddy was a pet dog.

Wendy was also in a complicated mood. "So, the friend of Brother Wesley-is a veterinarian?"

Gavin raised his eyebrows and said, "It's not impossible."

"If that's the case, then I have only one question left-" Wendy asked seriously, "Can you tell me why a pet's ranking is higher than Brother Wesley's?"

The reason why they called Wesley Brother Wesley was that he ranked seventh in his generation in the Hayes Family.

His pet was called Buddy, which meant that it ranked higher than him. It was very strange!

Gavin said, "We also find it strange, but we dare not ask."

"It doesn't matter." Wendy said with a smile, "But I'm suddenly not afraid of Brother Wesley."

Gavin looked at Wendy curiously. "You were scared to death just now, weren't you?"

Wendy sighed and said, "But thinking that Brother Wesley's ranking is lower than that of a dumb Samoyed, I don't think he's scaring anymore."

"..."

Wendy's words were somewhat reasonable, and Gavin did not know how to refute them...
