Chapter 779 Yuna Betrayed Herself

Half an hour later, Brian returned home and saw Joanne sitting on the sofa with a serious look.

He walked up to her and asked, "What did Yuna tell you?"

Joanne shook her head. "She didn't say anything."

Brian frowned and asked, "How did you know that there was something wrong with her?"

Joanne pulled Brian to sit down. "I told Yuna that I had thought she liked Wesley, but she said that I had misunderstood. If I really misunderstood, her tone should have been resolute, but in fact, she said that in a very hesitant tone, and-"

Having said too much in one breath, with insufficient lung capacity, Joanne couldn't take it anymore, so she had to stop and take a breath.

Brian handed Joanne a glass of water. "Don't worry. Speak slowly."

Joanne took a sip of water and hurriedly continued while ignoring Brian's words, "Also, when Yuna mentioned Rowdy, there was something wrong with her tone."

"Hmm?" Brian asked patiently, "Something wrong?"

For a moment, Joanne ignored that the person in front of her was Brian. She blurted out, When you like someone, you will feel very sweet when you pronounce their name, just like when I mention you occasionally. Do you understand that kind of feeling? But when Yuna mentioned Rowdy, her tone was too indifferent. I dont believe that she likes Rowdy. Wesley must have misunderstood!

She said that so hurriedly that her cheeks turned red, and she didn't even realize what she had said.

Brian lowered his head and kissed her lips.

Joanne was stunned and did not know what was going on.

They were talking about Wesley and Yuna, but why did Brian suddenly kiss her?

Brian's kiss was getting increasingly passionate. Joanne habitually wrapped her arms around his waist and exchanged breaths with him. Soon, she became muddleheaded, throwing herself into Brian's arms.

"Cough, cough."

Simon's cough was heard. Joanne suddenly came to her senses and broke free from Brian's arms. Her reddish face turned into a red apple which had just ripened, plump and watery, emitting an attractive fruit fragrance.

Looking at her, Brian still felt tempted.

Someone had asked him if his feeling for Joanne had changed after getting married to her and having kids.

Of course, some changes had taken place.

Every day, he felt that he loved Joanne more than yesterday.

He stared at Joanne affectionately and gently, as if he was going to suck her into his eyes. She unnaturally looked away and stared at his chest. "We are talking about Wesley and Yuna."

"Answer my question first." Brian looked at Joanne with a faint smile. "When you mention me now, what will you look like?"

In the past, Joanne used to feel sweet when mentioning him.

What about now? Did she still feel the same?

Joanne looked straight into Brian's eyes. "We're already married. Of course, I will call 'my husband' generously whenever I talk of you."

Brian was reasonably satisfied with the answer, but he asked as if he didn't hear it clearly, "Pardon?"

Joanne poked Brian's chest and said, "Are you so bored? What's more important now is the affair of Wesley and Yuna!"

Brian reluctantly returned to the topic. "Something's wrong with Yuna. So, what are your suspicions?"

"I-" Joanne bit her lip and said uncertainly, "I suspect that Yuna actually knows the truth about Granny Wallace's death."

Brian had gone through ups and downs in the business world for so many years. There was little news that could shock him.

However, hearing Joanne's words, he was almost inevitably stunned for half a second.

Joanne's suspicion was not groundless.

Even if Joanne didn't know much about Wesley, she didn't believe that Wesley would hurt an old man, let alone Yuna, who had followed Wesley for a year.

Wesley made a rule that he would never hurt the elderly and children, which was known to all of his men. How could Yuna forget it?

Perhaps, it wasn't that Yuna didn't believe in Wesley. She actually knew the truth.

If that was the case, then when Yuna returned to Rowdy...

A possibility came to Brian's mind. Instantly, he stood up and said, "I'll contact Wesley right away."

At this time, Wesley and one of his men were talking on the phone.

He was informed that Joanne and Freya had accidentally met Yuna today. Joanne persuaded Yuna to come back, but Yuna said...

The young man's voice suddenly stopped as if he didn't dare to continue.

Wesley narrowed his eyes and asked in a deep voice, "What did she say?"

"Yuna told Mrs. Lambert," the man hesitated for a moment and said, "that she wouldn't leave Rowdy. Also, she told you not to waste your time tracking her."

Wesley suddenly felt that someone suddenly bumped into his heart and caused a bottomless hole in his heart. He couldn't feel the pain, but the blood kept flowing out of the hole.

She wouldn't leave Rowdy.

"Well, sure enough, Yuna likes Rowdy."

Wesley hung up the phone and held it in his hand. The cuts on his palm, which had been caused by the glass shards, were about to split open again.

Before the phone was crushed by Wesley, it had vibrated slightly, and Brian's name appeared on the screen.

Wesley picked up the call and answered with a "hmm".

Brian noticed that there was something wrong with his tone, but he didn't have time to ask the reason. He said directly, "Joanne met Yuna today."

Wesley's voice suddenly became deeper. "I know."

"You know it?" Brian asked in surprise, "Have you ever doubted that Yuna might know the truth about her grandmother's death?"

Wesley abruptly laughed, and his voice was full of self-deprecation. "You think too much."

Yuna never knew the truth, and she was firmly suspicious of him.

"You thinking too little." Brian said, "You've come into contact with Yuna twice in Arlington, but haven't you found anything wrong with her?"

Wesley said, "There may be something wrong with her health."

Brian pinched the part between his eyebrows. "What else?"

Wesley suddenly realized something and growled in a low voice, "What on earth do you want to tell me?"

Brian then said slowly, "Joanne chatted with Yuna for a while. She suspected that Yuna knew the truth about Granny Wallace's death. If so, Yuna back to Rowdy just to seek revenge."

In a split second, Wesley thought of a few things.

After Aiden and Romy were born, he came across Yuna in the hospital. They confronted each other in the garden. At the moment when he was distracted, Yuna obviously had a chance to get rid of him, but she was actually stabbed by him.

He had vaguely felt that something was wrong at that time, but there was no more evidence, so he didn't take it seriously.

Perhaps, she wanted to use that wound to gain Rowdy's trust?

Also, if Yuna insisted that he was the murderer of her grandmother, how could she tolerate him sleeping with her?

According to Yuna's character, she would probably die with him when he touched her.

Brian added, "Maybe we all underestimated Yuna. From the beginning, she knew the truth."

Wesley abruptly grabbed the things at hand and said, "I'll go to Arlington right away."

If Joanne's suspicion was right, when Rowdy found out the real reason why Yuna stayed with him, he would use all kinds of harsh punishments on her.

Even if Joanne's suspicion was wrong, it didn't matter. He could tell Yuna the truth.

He couldn't tolerate Yuna staying with Rowdy for even one day more!

Brian had guessed that Wesley would be anxious, but he didn't expect that Wesley would be so anxious. He still wanted to say something else, but Wesley had already hung up the phone, so he had to put his phone away.

Joanne hurriedly asked, "What did Wesley say?"

Brian tried to put it lightly. "He said he would come to Arlington right away."

Joanne nodded and said, "That's good. At least he should take Yuna back first. If Yuna really plans to take revenge, she is in a very dangerous situation."

Brian looked at Joanne curiously. "I told you the truth about Granny Wallace's death. Why didn't you tell Yuna in the cafe?"

Joanne made a careful and detailed analysis. "Rowdy should have sent some people to follow Yuna. If I had said it out loud and Rowdy's people heard me, it would not be helpful to Yuna, and she could even be in danger."

Brian kissed Joanne. "Smart."

Joanne snorted softly. "Don't forget what I used to be! I used to work with Shawn and solved many outstanding cases."

Even if Shawn was married, Brian still did not want to hear Joanne say his name.

Mr. Brian was obviously jealous. He took a bite of Joanne's lips and said, "If you work with Shawn, you can only solve the cases. If we work together, we can do a lot of things."

Joanne acted as if she didn't understand Brian's hint and asked in confusion, "So?"

"So, don't mention Shawn anymore," Brian said, "otherwise, I will be jealous."

"I see a green-eyed monster." Joanne smiled and added, "Is that you?"

Brian looked at Joanne at leisure. "That's me, so what are you going to do?"

Joanne shook her head with a smile and took a step back, accidentally knocking over the bag that she had just brought back. The clothes inside slipped out.

She was about to put the clothes away when Brian had already picked them before her.

"I just bought it!" Joanne said hurriedly, "Is it beautiful?"

"It's too small," Brian said, "not suitable for you."

Joanne almost exploded. "It's a small-size one. I'm wearing small-size clothes. It's not small at all. Or..." She suddenly said in an unpleasant tone, "Do you think I'm growing fatter?"

Brian looked at Joanne with a faint smile. "Just a particular part. Why are you so agitated?"

Joanne did not respond for a moment. She asked in a daze, "Which part?"

Brian lowered his head and whispered into Joanne's ear, "I'll tell you tonight."

Joanne suddenly understood, and her cheeks turned red all of a sudden. She looked at Brian unnaturally. "How, how do you know... that it's small for that part? You, you just took a look at it."

Brian took a bite of Joanne's ear. "Don't forget that 'they' were brought up by me."

Brought up... by him...

Joanne completely broke down and buried her face in Brian's arms. "Stop it..."

Brian smiled and held the little woman, whose cheeks were burning hot, in his arms with a happy smile.

Feeling his good mood, Joanne bit his clothes unwillingly. "Bad guy."

However, she still loved him very much, however bad Brian was.

It seemed to be a predestined thing. She could not change it, nor did she want to change it.
