Chapter 783 Wendy, What Are You Going to Do?

"Cousin," Wendy looked at Joanne in confusion and asked, "why is your face so red? Do you feel hot?"

Joanne casually made an excuse. "It's a little stuffy here."

"Stuffy?" Wendy took a few deep breaths and said, "It's alright."

"Cough!" Joanne changed the subject. "Turn around. I'll help you smooth your dress."

"Okay!" Wendy's attention was easily diverted. "Cousin, How do I look in this dress? Do I look good?"

Well, you look better than the official publicity photos of a model! Joanne smiled and motioned for Wendy to rest assured. Wendy, everyone will remember what you look like tonight. The makeup artists should have arrived by now. Go to put on makeup.

Wendy pursed her lips and happily followed Joanne out.

The stylists had left, leaving those makeup artists in the dressing room.

As makeup artists trusted by first-line female stars, they naturally had good taste. Average beauties could not attract their attention at all.

However, when Wendy came in, every makeup artist's eyes lit up.

Wendy was not as dazzling as the stars in front of the camera. Also, she was neither as glamorous as Freya nor as stunning as Joanne.

Her beauty was very pure. Her skin was white and flawless, and her facial features were delicate and adorable. With the girly and fairily dress, she was exuding a pure and bright girl's quality, which made people find her not only beautiful, but also youthful and energetic.

The makeup artists said in a daze, "Miss Moore, has anyone ever told you that you look particularly like the heroine in youth novels?"

Wendy never knew what modesty meant. She nodded with a smile and said, "Yeah."

The makeup artist let out an exclamation. "Who has such good taste?"

Wendy smiled even more brightly. She looked at the makeup artist and said, "It was you!"

"Pfft..." The makeup artist burst into laughter.

Joanne was not surprised by Wendy's trick at all. She pushed her to sit at the dresser again and said, "Marry, put on some light makeup for her."

"Mrs. Lambert, don't worry. I was going to put on some light makeup for Miss Moore." The makeup artist took out an eyebrow pencil and said while filling in Wendy's eyebrows, "Heavy makeup will spoil Miss Moore's natural beauty."

After Wendy put on her makeup and shoes, Iris also arrived.

Joanne deliberately asked Iris to come and take care of the two little babies. She just said that she and Brian had something to do tonight. Iris did not ask what exactly it was.

Iris had always been willing to give them freedom.

Seeing Wendy coming down from the second floor, Iris was surprised. "Wendy, has your injury healed?"

It could be ascertained from Wendy's appearance that she should have recovered for a few days, but Iris hadn't hear it from anyone.

"Aunt Iris," Wendy ran to Iris with a smile and said wittily, "I'm all right now!"

"You've just recovered. Be careful." Iris held Wendy and asked curiously, "Why didn't I hear you say that before?"

For the first time, Wendy was not straightforward as usual. Instead, she said mysteriously, "Auntie, you'll know tomorrow."

Only then did Iris notice that Wendy had dressed herself up. Her energetic and charming appearance was more eye-catching than before, while Joanne was dressed in ordinary clothes without any makeup.

The old lady couldn't help being confused. "Joanne, what are you going to do?"

"Mom, I can't tell you yet," Joanne said with a smile. "You'll know when we come back."

Freya also came over and said mysteriously, "Auntie, the secret can't be revealed now."

Iris couldn't keep up with these young people's thoughts. She waved her hand and said, "Well, go ahead. I will take care of Aiden and Romy. It doesn't matter if you come back late."

Joanne looked at the two little babies and made sure that they were not going to cry. Only then did she go out with peace of mind.

Winston had already stopped the car at the entrance. Joanne was the last to get in the car. She closed the door and told Winston, "Let's go to MiTime Bar on Huaihai Road."

The evening in autumn came earlier than in summer. The sky was already dark now, and there was no trace of sunlight on the ground.

Wendy gathered up her cashmere shawl on her shoulders and asked, "Cousin-in-law, what time is it?"

Freya took out her mobile phone and checked the time. She also clicked the calendar and said, "It's six o'clock. Don't worry, we still have enough time. Wendy, you chose a perfect time."

Wendy asked in confusion, "How?"

"It'll be winter tomorrow." Freya said, "Today is the last day of autumn."

"The winter is coming." Wendy grabbed her shawl. "No wonder I feel that the weather is getting colder and colder."

Compared with the past years, this autumn was actually much warmer. Joanne rubbed Wendy's arms like what she would do to warm herself on a cold day. "It's because you're nervous, right?"

Wendy reluctantly admitted. "Yes, Cousin, I'm so nervous."

Joanne grabbed Wendy's hand and said, "Relax. Gavin will definitely agree anyway. You don't have to worry about it. Why are you so nervous? Take a few deep breaths."

Wendy thought about it and felt that Joanne's words made sense. She followed Joanne and took a few deep breaths. She didn't know if Joanne made her feel at ease or if the deep breaths really worked. Anyway, she didn't seem to be so nervous anymore.

Seeing that they were about to arrive at the city center, Freya told Joanne, "Send a message to Mr. Brian and ask him to take Gavin to MiTime Bar."

"Okay."

Joanne took out her mobile phone and messaged Brian.

Brian had been reading the financial magazine in the office for more than an hour. When he received Joanne's message, he put down the magazine, took his coat, and knocked on the door of Gavin's office.

Gavin thought that Brian was here to urge him to deal with the documents, so he didn't even look up. "It's almost done."

Brian rested one hand on the door and said, "Handle it tomorrow. Let's get off work now."

After making sure that he didn't hear it wrong, Gavin slammed the documents and fiercely glared at Brian. "You were just kidding me by asking me to work overtime?"

Brian said with a calm face, "There is an emergency. Come with me to the bar on Huaihai Road."

"MiTime?" Gavin looked at Brian in confusion. "Why would you take me there?"

In fact, Brian didn't know either. He could only say, "You'll know when we arrive."

The driver had already made the car ready. Brian opened the door and motioned for Gavin to get in.

When he promised to work overtime, Gavin had already been caught in the trap.. At this time, he had no room to refuse.

Gavin had to get in the car. As soon as he sat down, he took out his mobile phone and called Wendy.

He never thought that it might have something to do with Wendy.

In his memory, Wendy was still a physically challenged but strong-willed girl who must depend on both him and the wheelchair as her only means of transport.

Wendy quickly answered the phone, and her soft voice came into Gavin's ear through the phone. "Haven't you gotten off work yet? I'm hungry."

Instead of complaint, there was only a hint of grievance in her tone, which made people feel sorry for her.

"I have something else to do." Gavin coaxed Wendy in a soft voice. "If you want to eat something, order takeout first and ask the female security guard to send it upstairs."

"All right." Wendy said in a very obedient voice, "Then you go ahead and do your things. Be careful."

"Okay, see you later."

Gavin hung up the phone and caught a glimpse of the faint smile on Brian's lips. He snorted and said, "When you and Joanne are intimate with each other, you are sappier than me. How could you laugh at me?"

Brian didn't speak. Thinking of what Joanne had told him this morning, he vaguely felt that the main characters today were Gavin and Wendy.

Wendy... was probably not at home at all.

Lambert Group was near Huaihai Road. The car soon stopped in front of MiTime Bar. The waiters came over to open the door and said in unison, "Mr. Lambert, Mr. Gavin, welcome."

After getting off the car, Gavin felt that something was wrong.

Brian's car had never been to this bar, so it was impossible for the waiters to recognize it.

Even if the waiters recognized Brian's car, they could not see him in the car from the outside. But when they greeted him, it was obvious that the waiters were sure that he was in the car.

Gavin stopped and looked at Brian alertly. "What's going on?"

In fact, Brian did not know about it either. He looked calm and said, "Let's go in first."

The waiters had already opened the door of the bar. Gavin walked ahead, and he found that the interior decorations of the bar were different from what he had seen last time.

The bar, which used to have an elegant atmosphere, was now milky white and light pink. Every corner was decorated with red and white roses, and the lights were specially adjusted so that they were not bright but warm.

The bar, which used to be extremely lively, had now become a quiet and romantic world of fairy tales.

Gavin didn't know if it was his illusion that after he came in, the bar became completely quiet, and dozens of eyes were focused on him almost at the same time.

He subconsciously looked around the whole bar. In addition to Joanne and Freya, he also saw Chris, Noah, Wesley, a few friends of Wendy, as well as some of his buddies who would gather with him from time to time.

Gavin stopped and looked at everyone in confusion. "Why are you here? What's going on?"

Joanne smiled, took Brian's hand, and said, "You ask Wendy."

"Wendy?" Gavin got even more confused. "Is she also here?"

Joanne just smiled and did not speak. Gavin suddenly had a very subtle feeling.

Just at this moment, Wendy's voice came from behind him. "Gavin!"

He turned around. For a moment, he suspected that he had an illusion.

Wendy was not sitting in the wheelchair, nor did she walk on canes.

She was standing on the ground with her slender legs and stepping forward to him, just like what he had dreamed of-she coming down the aisle.

She got her straight black hair done and formed an updo like a flower fairy. Also, she was wearing a dreamy and girly floral dress, which was in line with her hairstyle.

Wendy might not know how beautiful and charming she was at the moment.

However, in addition to being tempted, Gavin was more surprised-

"Wendy has recovered? Why did she hide it from him?

"What is she going to do?"
