Chapter 789 I Want You, Right Now (2)

Looking at Wendy's resolute look, Gavin finally couldn't help putting forth his strength to hold Wendy in his arms.

He lowered his head and kept her lips in his mouth without saying a word. He pried open her teeth and abruptly gave her a deep kiss. He wrapped his arms around her so tightly as if he wanted to embed her into his body.

He could control himself at critical moments.

But at this moment, he only wanted to use the most intimate way to make sure that Wendy, who made his heart flutter, really belonged to him.

"Uhh..."

Gavin absorbed Wendy's sweetness with excitement and passion. It took Wendy a long time to react. While breathing clumsily, she pretended to be proficient in responding to Gavin.

She thought that Gavin would let go of her soon, but this time, Gavin showed no signs of loosening his hands around her waist even after a long while.

Hey, Gavin was... more excited than she had imagined.

In fact, Gavin was more than excited. He was even possessed. He kept squeezing Wendy's sweetness as if he would never get tired of it.

If Wendy was a desirable Poppy, then he had already been addicted to her.

For a long time, he had tried his best to restrain himself and maintain his sanity. Still, Wendy had repeatedly destroyed the wall of his reasoning and also told him that he didn't need to maintain this kind of reason at all.

Wendy succeeded. He couldn't restrain himself anymore, and he didn't intend to do so either.

No matter whether he would repeat his father's tragedy or not, Wendy must belong to him!

"Uhh... uhh..."

Wendy began to protest. She had been drowned in Gavin's kiss. If Gavin didn't let go of her, she would soon suffocate.

Gavin knew that the little girl had reached her limit. He kissed her deeply and lovingly a few times before letting go of her.

He stroked Wendy's reddish cheeks and said in a helpless tone, "Wendy, what should I do with you?"

Wendy took a deep breath, and the feeling of suffocation finally disappeared. A bright and charming smile returned to her beautiful little face.

She imitated Gavin's usual meaningful look and said, "Get married to me. After you become my husband, you can do whatever you want."

She deliberately emphasized the word "do".

Gavin's eyes darkened, and his Adam's apple moved. He immediately raised his hand and knocked on Wendy's head. "Who taught you to say so?"

"It doesn't matter who taught me!" Wendy raised her chin and then leaned forward to Gavin flatteringly. "You were so excited just now. Does it mean that you have agreed to my proposal?"

Gavin opened the jewelry box and took out the ring from it. He gently ordered, "Give me your hand."

Sure enough, he agreed!

Wendy's eyes seemed to collect the starlight at night. Her almond-shaped eyes were shining, more charming and attractive than usual.

She reached out her hand obediently and looked at Gavin with a smile. All her happiness and expectations were clearly displayed on her face.

Gavin sighed.

He had never seen a girl who was more unrestrained than Wendy.

Fortunately, Wendy met him and fell in love with him.

If other men clearly saw Wendy when she was charming and unrestrained, he would definitely be insanely jealous and do something crazy.

Therefore, it would be better to restrain her with a ring and leave his mark on her body so that he could feel relieved to let her go out.

As for his illness and their future...

Since Wendy could be so brave and fearless, why couldn't he continue the gamble for her sake?

Although he didn't have a good start, there might not be any bad news in the following days.

Even if the following treatment didn't work on his illness, even if the reality was not as optimistic as he had imagined, he should agree to Wendy's proposal.

It was obvious that no matter how terrible their ending would be, Wendy wouldn't regret it. Therefore, it was obviously useless for him to waste his time on reasoning with Wendy.

He should try his best to make Wendy happy when he could still move normally. That was what Wendy wanted.

Gavin put the ring on Wendy's finger and looked at her with a hint of a smile. "Wendy, then you really can't run away."

"It doesn't matter!" Wendy smiled mischievously. "Anyway, I never thought about running away!"

Gavin smiled, held her face, and kissed her on the lips. "Wendy, thank you."

Wendy blinked her eyes and asked in confusion, "Thank me for what?"

Gavin just touched her head and didn't tell her the reason.

It was indeed because of Wendy that he had a greater desire for survival. She prevented him from having a negative attitude toward this inherited disease.

It was because of Wendy that he could also calmly accept, instead of complaining about, everything he had encountered, including his tortuous experience of growth and rare genetic diseases.

He always thought that Wendy was a surprise for him in this life.

For this surprise, he should experience some difficulties and setbacks.

Wendy didn't further ask. She raised her hand happily, letting the diamond on the ring shine brightly in the sun.

She and Gavin had been an unmarried couple, hadn't they?

The more Wendy thought about it, the happier she became, and her bright eyes were full of smiles. She said, "Gavin, let's tell Mom."

Gavin nodded. "Let me tell her."

Wendy tilted her head and asked, "Is there any difference?"

Gavin rubbed her hair and said, "Fool, of course, it's different."

Just as Wendy was thinking about what was the difference, there was a knock on the door. She thought it was Joanne, so she replied, "Come in."

Noah pushed the door open and walked in with Henry and several other doctors in white gowns.

Seeing Gavin standing by the bed, Noah went straight up to Wendy and asked her, "When did Gavin wake up?"

Wendy really did not pay attention to it.

Wendy's eyes flashed. She shrank behind Gavin and said guiltily, "I don't know..."

Gavin held Wendy's hand and answered Noah's question. "Forty minutes ago."

The patient actually knew when he woke up better than his family. Noah knew what had happened in this ward in the past forty minutes without guessing. He advised Gavin euphemistically, "You just woke up. You'd better lie in bed and have a rest for the sake of your recovery. Don't... keep moving."

"Keep moving..."

Wendy admired Noah's wording. At the same time, she felt more guilty and then shrank further into Gavin's arms. Gavin stroked her hand a few times and calmly made a sound "hmm" as a reply to Noah.

"Lie down." Noah said, "Henry will do a check-up for you."

Gavin looked back at Wendy and motioned for her to be at ease. Then he lay down unhurriedly.

Henry and several other doctors came over. Henry was in charge of the check-up, while the other doctors were in charge of recording. Occasionally, they used some simple medical instruments.

Gavin seemed to be used to the check-up. He obediently followed Henry's orders, which made Wendy inexplicably sad.

The check-up was soon over. Henry told Gavin to have a good rest and continued, "We have confirmed the treatment for you. It should be able to relieve your illness."

Gavin asked, "What treatment? Did you use it on my father?"

Henry shook his head and said, "No. When your father was ill, medical technology was limited. I could only treat your father using conservative methods. What we will use on you is a brand new treatment we've just developed. We haven't named it yet. Gavin, believe us."

Gavin nodded, and Henry patted him on the shoulder to comfort him and then left with the group of doctors.

"Wendy, did you hear that?"

Gavin looked at Wendy and then noticed that Wendy's expression had changed. Her beautiful little face was no longer as bright as before, and her eyes had dimmed a lot. Instead of being sunny, her world became cloudy in just ten minutes.

He sat up and reached out to Wendy. She walked over obediently. Gavin took her hand and asked, "What's wrong?"

"Did you have check-ups many times?" Wendy said in a low voice, and she felt even more aggrieved about it than having herself examined. "You worked overtime several times and came back very late. Is it because you came to the hospital for a check-up?"

"Yes, there were some times, but I did work overtime the other times." Gavin held Wendy in his arms and comforted her in a soft voice. "I have a check-up so that Henry can know my physical condition in time. It doesn't hurt. Don't be sad."

Wendy knew that some examinations were not painful, but for a patient, the process of waiting for the result was lengthy and gnawing.

He couldn't imagine how Gavin had done so many check-ups and how he had waited for the results alone.

If time could go back, she would definitely accompany Gavin every time and would not let him face all this alone.

"It's not a big deal." Gavin saw the distress in the little girl's eyes and said lightly, "Each result was almost the same. Later, I didn't even have to worry about the results."

"Cut it out." Wendy suddenly scolded him angrily. "Gavin, you're a liar!"

Gavin didn't know why he had become a liar. He raised his eyebrows and looked at Wendy in confusion.

Wendy said, "After Blake's incident, you promised me that you wouldn't lie to me again. But you actually hid such a big thing from me, you liar!"

She was really angry, but in Gavin's eyes, her angry look was so cute.

Gavin laughed and tried to placate the angry little lion. "I'm sorry."

"You're still laughing!" As expected, Wendy became angrier. "I'll give you one last chance. Is there anything else you're hiding from me? Tell me, and I can forgive you in one go!"

Gavin raised his eyebrows and asked, "Why are you so tolerant?"

Wendy snorted and said, "I just don't want to blow up again!"

Gavin held the back of her head and kissed her on the lips. "No, Wendy, you know everything about me now."

"Are you sure?" Wendy looked at him suspiciously. "For example?"

"For example-" Gavin said in a solemn way, "I love you."
