Chapter 790 Air Was More Necessary Than Her

Wendy admitted that her heart was fluttering.

However, she would not be fooled easily!

"You're seriously coaxing." Wendy poked Gavin's chest and said, "I don't want to talk to you anymore!"

Gavin stretched out and wrapped his arms around Wendy's waist. "Really? Do you?"

Wendy's waist was the most sensitive part of her body. Gavin obviously knew her weakness, so he deliberately rubbed her waist. Wendy gritted her teeth to resist the "evil force", and soon her face turned red.

After holding on for a while, Wendy finally couldn't help making a sound and fell into Gavin's arms while laughing.

Gavin continued rubbing with a wicked smile. "Don't you want to talk to me anymore?"

Wendy struggled for a moment and found that she was no match for Gavin at all. She could only hug him fawningly. Before she could say some flattering words, the door was pushed open again.

This time, it was Brian and Joanne who appeared outside the door.

While waiting for the elevator, Joanne came across Noah downstairs.

Noah said that both Gavin and Wendy had woken up, so they could just go straight into the room.

But Noah didn't tell that they would see such a scene when they came in!

Should she pretend that she didn't see anything and pull Brian away, or say hello to Gavin as if nothing had happened?

When Joanne was still trying to pick a less embarrassing option, Gavin had already let go of Wendy. He calmly pointed at the thermal lunchboxes in Joanne's hand. "Is it breakfast?"

Joanne was in a daze for a moment before she came to her senses. "Ah, yes."

Gavin touched Wendy's head and said, "Are you hungry? Go brush your teeth and have breakfast."

"Okay."

Wendy was as obedient as a pet. She got out of bed and slipped into the bathroom.

Joanne held Brian's arm and walked into the room. She placed the lunchboxes on the dining table and asked Gavin, "How are you feeling today?"

Gavin smiled, gave her a reassuring look, and said, "Without the onset of my illness, I can function normally. Don't worry too much about me."

"We were all scared out of our wits yesterday," Joanne said, "especially Wendy. I've never seen her in such panic before. She kept crying and asking me what was going on. She didn't even allow Dr. Sanchez to touch you."

Gavin wore a bitter smile. "I can imagine it."

Brian walked up to Joanne and said, "I'll go to Henry to learn about Gavin's situation. Will you stay here?"

"Yes." Joanne nodded. "Go ahead. I'll talk to Gavin for a while."

As soon as Brian left the ward, Wendy poked her head out of the bathroom. "Cousin, have you brought me any clothes?"

"Yes." Joanne handed Wendy a bag. "They're my clothes. You can wear them first. At noon, I'll ask Martha to go to Gavin's apartment. If you need anything, tell me later."

"Okay!"

Wendy showed a bright smile and directly closed the bathroom door. Soon, the sound of falling water came from inside.

Joanne breathed a sigh of relief and walked back to the bedside. She said, "Wendy is in a good state. I thought she would still cry, so I prepared a lot of comforting words."

Gavin smiled. "She cried."

His smile could not hide the distress in his eyes.

He had said that he wouldn't let Wendy cry for him anymore, but Wendy's tears in her life were almost only because of him.

Joanne glanced at the bathroom behind her and said, "Gavin, you must get better."

Girls' tears would always make people feel sorry for them.

The most heart-wrenching thing was the tears of girls who didn't like to cry, such as Wendy.

When she had been slandered for receiving a red envelope and later for falling in love with his brother Gavin, the unprecedented pressure of public opinions only made Wendy cry once to Joanne on the phone.

However, in MiTime last night, Wendy seemed to have shed all tears in her life. She cried so hard that it made people feel so sorry for her.

In this life, Joanne no longer wanted to see Wendy cry sadly.

Gavin nodded. "Don't worry. For Wendy, I won't give up so easily."

Joanne said, "Gavin, we will be with you."

Before Gavin could say thanks, Wendy had already finished taking a shower and unhurriedly walked out of the bathroom while drying her hair.

Most of the night yesterday, Wendy had a tough time, which made her look exhausted. But after taking a shower, she finally looked better.

Wendy went straight to Gavin's bed and said, "You use the blue toothbrush. I've unwrapped the package for you and put it in the cup. Go brush your teeth."

"Okay." Gavin got up and touched Wendy's head. "You eat breakfast first."

After that, Gavin walked into the bathroom.

Wendy was obedient. While rubbing one hand against the other, she walked toward the dining table. She skillfully opened the lunchboxes one by one, breathed in the aroma of the food, and said with satisfaction, "The chef must have made the soup dumplings, while the porridge must have been cooked by Cousin."

Joanne walked over. She had planned to praise that Wendy was discerning but stopped when she saw the shining diamond ring on her finger.

If she remembered correctly, Gavin had fainted before he put the ring on Wendy's finger yesterday.

Joanne held Wendy's hand up and looked at her leisurely. "Aren't you going to tell me what's going on?"

Wendy curled her lips sweetly and told Joanne what had happened in the morning.

Of course, she automatically ignored the sentence "if you don't put the ring on my finger, I can wear it myself."

Joanne understood it and said with a smile, "No wonder you're in such a good mood. It turns out that you've succeeded."

"Yeah!" Wendy nodded. "Although the process was a little thrilling, Gavin and I are indeed an unmarried couple."

"Wendy," Joanne asked softly, "what are you going to do next?"

"Accompany Gavin to go through his treatment." Wendy forced a smile and said in a calm tone, "Gavin has been ill for a long time. He has done a lot of check-ups alone. I can't leave him alone. In the future, whatever he goes through, I will be with him. No matter what will happen or what the result will be, I won't leave him."

Joanne smiled and gave Wendy a hug. "You need to be strong all the time. We will be with you. Never forget that we are a family."

Wendy felt warm in her heart, and her eyes turned red in an instant.

At this moment, the sound of the bathroom door being opened was heard.

Wendy quickly blinked a few times and held back her tears.

When Gavin came out, he didn't notice anything wrong. But when he saw that the breakfast was still intact, he frowned and looked at Wendy. "Why don't you eat first?"

Wendy said with a smile, "I'm waiting for you."

Gavin knew that she was hungry, so he picked up a small soup dumpling and brought it to her lips. "Eat quickly."

Wendy smiled with curved eyes and brows and looked very satisfied to eat the soup dumpling. It seemed that what Gavin had fed her was not a soup dumpling but a rare delicacy.

Joanne suddenly felt that she was needless. Even air was more necessary than her.

She picked up her bag and left the room. Sure enough, Wendy didn't notice it at all.

Joanne walked out of the suite and came across Brian, who had just come back. She walked over and took his hand. "Let's go."

Brian was confused. "Why so soon?"

Joanne smiled and said, "We'll be the third wheel there. Gavin and Wendy can't see us."

Brian understood. He held Joanne's hand and took her downstairs.

Out of the elevator, a gust of cold wind blew, and Joanne couldn't help shivering.

Brian adjusted Joanne's scarf and wrapped it around her neck closely. He covered her hands and asked, "Are you very cold?"

"Not very cold." Joanne said, "I'm just not used to the sudden drop in temperature. By the way, what did Henry say?"

"He has confirmed the treatment for Gavin," said Brian, "but no one has tried this kind of treatment, and Henry can't guarantee that it's 100% useful for Gavin. Even if it's useful, Gavin still needs to have an operation in the end."

Joanne tried her best to think as optimistically as Wendy. "Anyway, Gavin at least has the hope of recovery, right?"

"Yeah." Brian nodded. "You can say that."

"That's enough." Joanne said, "We have the best team of experts, and Dr. Sanchez will also assist. Gavin will definitely get better."

"Joanne, don't worry." Brian stroked Joanne's hands, which had become a little cold because of the wind. "Gavin won't give up so easily, let alone us."

Joanne nodded. "You go to work."

"Winston will send you back first." Brian opened the door and motioned for Joanne to get in the car.

"What about you?" Joanne looked at Brian curiously.

"The company's driver will come to pick me up." Brian kissed Joanne's lips. "It's too cold, so you go home first."

"I'll accompany you to wait for the driver to come over." Joanne smiled. "I'm not cold when you're with me here."

Brian held Joanne's hand and walked inward with a few steps. With the wall blocking the wind, plus the warm air blowing out of the room, the chill in the air was finally a little thinner.

The driver in Lambert Group drove very fast, and he arrived at the hospital in less than five minutes. However, Brian was not in a hurry to get in the car. Seeing Joanne's car drive away, he got in the company's car and asked the driver to drive him to the company.

Only then did Wendy find that Joanne was gone. "Eh? Where's Cousin?"

Gavin said, "She left."

Wendy couldn't remember when Joanne had left. She scratched her hair and asked, "I lost my memory?"

Gavin picked up a soup dumpling and said, "The last one. Do you want it?"

"Yes!"

In front of the delicious food, Wendy instantly forgot about Joanne. She opened her mouth and ate the last soup dumpling. Then she took out her mobile phone and wrote a list of things she wanted. She was ready to send it to Joanne so that Martha could help her and Gavin pack up according to the list.

Before sending it out, she let Gavin have a look first. "You check if you have anything else to bring here."

Gavin added a "laptop" to the end of the list.

"Why would you bring your laptop here?" Wendy was about to delete the last item. "You're sick. You're not allowed to work!"

Gavin grabbed Wendy's hand and said, "I'm not going to work. I just have to deal with something occasionally."

"No, either!" Wendy said in an unexpectedly overbearing tone, "Henry said that you should have a good rest."

Gavin held the back of the little girl's head and took a bite of her lips. "I know what I'm doing, huh?"

Thinking that Brian would not assign heavy tasks to Gavin, Wendy reluctantly said, "Okay."

Gavin kissed his little girl with satisfaction. "Good girl."
