Chapter 811 You May Die at Any Time

In Yuna's room at the old residence of the Kent family.

"Auntie Yuna." Emily sat by the bed, holding her chin with both hands and looking at Yuna. "Do you want me to accompany you, or do you want to rest?"

Yuna yawned and said, "I'm a little tired and I want to rest."

"No problem!" Emily abruptly stood up and kissed Yuna's cheek. "Have a good rest. I'll come in to see you when you wake up."

At that, the little boy skipped out of the room.

Yuna looked at the drip hanging over the head of the bed and subconsciously touched her lower abdomen with her right hand. Wesley's words echoed in her ears over and over.

"Yuna, I wish I hadn't let you go.

"I wish you were alive.

"Yuna, do you really believe that I'm the one who killed Granny Wallace?"

At the hospital, Yuna did not dare to think about the profound meaning behind these words. As she recalled what had happened, she was no longer shocked, but a vague thought grew clearer and clearer in her mind-

Perhaps Wesley really liked her.

Should she feel happy or sad?

If Wesley opened up to her as soon as her grandma passed away, she might stay.

However, she'd exposed that she had been working undercover in front of so many people. If Wesley did not deal with her, it would be difficult for the public to willingly follow him.

Besides, Wesley's pride did not allow him to fancy a woman working undercover.

But it was too late now.

She did not know how much time she still had. She only knew that before leaving this world, she had to collect evidence of Rowdy's crimes and then make it public.

If she did not avenge her grandmother, she would die with open eyes.

If possible, she wanted the child in her belly to be born, so that when she left, she would have fewer regrets and more memories about this world.

After the injection, Yuna asked someone to remove the needle for her. Dr. Liu, who had helped her with the check-up yesterday, came in to do it.

Yuna couldn't hide her surprise as she asked, "Dr. Liu, why are you here?"

Dr. Liu smiled and said, "Mr. Kent is worried about you and the fetus, so he especially invited us to stay here for a few days in case of any accidents."

Yuna soon understood. In order to hide the fact that she was pregnant, Rowdy hid all the doctors and nurses who had treated her.

Dr. Liu obviously knew that he had been kidnapped. He smiled and spoke carefully, as he pulled out the needles for Yuna.

After taking out the needles, Yuna pressed the needle marks with cotton wool and said, "Dr. Liu, I'm sorry. You can leave in a few days, and I can guarantee your safety."

"I know. Mr. Kent mentioned it to us." When she talked about Rowdy, Dr. Liu's face turned pale. "Mrs. Kang, if there's nothing else, I'll go now."

"Wait." Yuna stopped Dr. Liu. "Can I borrow your mobile phone for a while?"

"Of course." Dr. Liu took out her mobile phone, unlocked the screen, and handed it to Yuna.

Yuna took out a notebook from the drawer, found a string of numbers on the inside page, and dialed a number with Dr. Liu's phone.

This was the phone number of an expert in the neurology department of the Eighth Hospital. He was the one who had checked out the blood clot in Yuna's brain.

Yuna suspected that she'd suddenly fainted yesterday because of the blood clot in her brain, not because of her pregnancy.

After the phone connected, Yuna revealed her identity and asked politely, "Professor, do you still remember me?"

"Of course I do. Your case is so special that it's hard to forget." The professor said, "Why didn't you contact me after you left? Miss, have you decided about the operation?"

"Professor, I'm pregnant." It was the first time that Yuna had been so nervous. She said every word carefully. "I want to know if the blood clot will affect the fetus."

"Silly girl." The professor sighed heavily. "The blood clot doesn't directly affect your fetus adversely, but it will affect your body and thus affect the growth of the fetus! Even if the fetus is lucky enough to avoid the influence of the blood clot and grow up healthily, the development of the fetus will affect the stability of the blood clot! You'd better come to the hospital for a checkup and receive treatment as soon as possible!"

"Professor, I don't understand." Yuna said, grabbing the quilt. "What will happen if the fetus affects the blood clot?"

"You will be in greater danger!" The professor said, "If anything happens to the blood clot, you may die at any time, understand?"

"Die."

In other words, was very likely that she would not be able to bring the child to this world?

Yuna's face turned pale, and the phone almost slipped out of her palm.

"Your situation is very dangerous. If you want the fetus to be safe and sound, you must ask specialists to come up with a treatment plan," the professor advised. "Miss, don't waste any more time. Go through the admission procedures as soon as possible."

"I see, Professor. Thank you."

Yuna hung up the phone and returned it to Dr. Liu. She couldn't help her eyes welling up.

From Yuna's words, Dr. Liu vaguely guessed that there was something wrong with Yuna's body. She also had planned to tell Yuna something, but now it seemed that Yuna could not bear to hear any bad news.

Dr. Liu comforted her, "Mrs. Kang, don't be too pessimistic. In a few days, I'll take you back to the hospital for a check-up. You can check the fetus's condition first and then make your decisions."

"Dr. Liu, can you help me?" Yuna begged. "Help me keep this child."

Dr. Liu nodded and said, "I'll prescribe some medicine for you. From tomorrow on, you must get an infusion every day."

She could tell that Yuna really wanted this child.

But... there had always been something wrong with her.

That was all that she could do for Yuna, and the rest was up to God's will.

"Thank you." Yuna wiped her eyes. "I also have something wrong with my body. Please keep it a secret from Mr. Kent."

Dr. Liu was very surprised. "Why? If that's so, you should discuss it with Mr. Kent."

Yuna shook her head. "He is not the child's father. If he knows that the existence of the child is unfavorable to me, he will not let me keep the child. Dr. Liu, it is a small life. If you keep it a secret for me, you'll be protecting a small life. Please, help me."

Doctors from the gynaecology and obstetrics department were used to seeing people give up new lives mercilessly, or seeing other people do their best to save new lives.

If possible, Dr. Liu hoped that Yuna's child would come to this world.

She nodded and said, "I promise you."

"Thank you." Yuna said, "Don't worry. I won't get you into trouble for my sake. Also, I'll find a way to get you out of here as soon as possible."

"Okay." Dr. Liu smiled and said, "I'll prescribe the medicine for you first."

Only Yuna was left in the room. She placed her hand gently on her lower abdomen, and prayed again and again that the blood clot would not affect the child.

As long as the child was safe and sound, she could bear any pain.

"Auntie Yuna," Emily pushed the door open and poked his head in. "Dad said that if you are well-rested, just go down for dinner."

"OK."

Yuna quickly changed her mood, held Emily's hand and went downstairs as if nothing had happened.

At the private hospital.

Today, Gavin was going through the third treatment. Wendy stood outside the operating room, staring at the white operating room door.

Wesley came out of the elevator, his strong aura sweeping across the whole corridor, but Wendy did not notice him.

He walked over and asked, "How long has Gavin been in?"

Wendy looked back, surprised to see that it was Wesley. Then she looked at the time and said, "More than two hours."

Wesley glanced at her and asked, "Have you eaten yet?"

"... Eaten?"

Wendy could not react at all, as if she had forgotten that people had to eat in their lives.

Wesley had already guessed the answer. He gave one of his men a look, and the man understood and said, "Miss Moore, wait a minute. I will be back soon."

In less than fifteen minutes, the man came back with a few takeout boxes and said, "Miss Moore, please eat while it's warm."

Wendy was greatly worried about Gavin in the operating room. She did not feel hungry at all, but this was a meal that Boss Hayes had asked someone to buy!

If she did not eat it, would Boss Hayes kill her with a look?

Wendy hurriedly took the lunch boxes and sat on the sofa. She opened them one by one and found that they were too much for her. She looked at Wesley and said, "Boss Hayes, have you eaten yet? Do you want to eat with me?"

"I'm not hungry." Wesley sat on the sofa next to Wendy. When he saw the girl's blank and timid expression, he said finally, "You eat more."

Wendy nodded. "Then I'll eat."

In fact, she did not have much appetite. After eating a few mouthfuls of rice and some dishes, she already felt ninety percent full. Thinking that this was a meal bought by Boss Hayes, she took a few more mouthfuls of food and ate until she was full.

Wesley stared at the door of the operating room and occasionally looked at his watch, without paying much attention to Wendy. Later, when he caught a glimpse of Wendy struggling with the food, he suddenly wanted to laugh.

Of course, in the end, Wesley did not laugh out loud. He just said lightly, "They bought a lot, and you don't have to finish it."

Wendy breathed a long sigh of relief. "Thank you, Your Majesty."

Wesley frowned and asked, "What?"

"Ahem!" Wendy almost choked, and she squeezed out a sentence with difficulty. "I mean, thank you, Brother Wesley!"

Wesley actually heard clearly Wendy's last sentence, but he was surprised, so he affirmed it with the girl. Looking at Wendy's nervous look, he could not help smiling slightly.

Wendy was stunned and suddenly fixed her eyes on Wesley's face. "Boss Hayes, did anyone tell you that you look so good when you smile?"

Instead of answering Wendy's question, Wesley was curious about whether Wendy was afraid of him or not.

This girl could be terrified by him, but in fact, she was not afraid of him, was she?

She was unique. No wonder Gavin was hell-bent on her.

Wendy suddenly felt that it was not so difficult to get along with Boss Hayes. The point was that he was so handsome when he smiled!

If she were Yuna, she would definitely fall in love with Boss Hayes!

Wesley looked into Wendy's eyes and asked, "Why are you staring at me?"

Wendy said frankly, "Because you look so good even when you are not smiling!"

Wesley's men were all stunned.

Was Wendy not afraid of Wesley at all, or was she ignorant and fearless?

No one had ever dared to flirt with Wesley like that!

Wesley could not be defeated by a little girl, so he deliberately asked, "If Gavin hears your words, do you think he will be happy?"

"No!" Wendy added, "But I will tell him that, in my eyes, he is the most handsome man!"

In other words, it was true that Wesley was handsome, but in her heart, he could not compare with Gavin.

"..."

Wesley's feelings were up and down.

Right now, he, was feeling down.
