Chapter 813 I'm Very Skillful. It Won't Hurt!

Outside the window, the cold wind was howling. Arlington ushered in the first snow at the onset of winter.

In the ward, there was uncertainty in the air.

Gavin's kiss was like a small flame, burning Wendy's reason and strength and melting her in the cold winter night.

Soon, there was nothing else in the way for the two of them.

"Wendy," Gavin stroked Wendy's face. "I love you," he confessed.

This was not a confession.

With great passion, Gavin suddenly wanted his girl to know that he loved her.

Wendy opened her eyes and looked at Gavin, confused like a lost lamb. "How much do you love me?"

Her white cheeks were flushed, which made her look beautiful. Gavin could not help kissing her deeply. After tasting her sweetness to his heart's content, he whispered in her ear, "I love you very much."

There was a smile in Wendy's beautiful almond-shaped eyes. "I love you too."

As soon as she finished speaking, Gavin gently took her, stripped the last bit of reason from her, and took her into a deep whirlpool...

The snow was getting heavier and heavier, but the air in the room was burning hot.

The following day.

Wendy opened her eyes and did not move at all. She continued to think about yesterday's dilemma - what would happen if she questioned a man's physical strength.

Well, now she knew what would happen.

She swore to herself that she would never question anything about Gavin, especially his physical strength!

Gavin also woke up. He took Wendy into his arms from behind and nuzzled her head with his chin. "Do you feel happy after last night?"

Wendy stiffly smiled and said, "I'm so happy that I'm about to cry."

Gavin frowned. Suddenly, his voice was less sexy, and became extremely gentle. "Does it still hurt?"

As it had been her first time, Wendy was in pain for a long time, which was also the reason why Gavin had been restraining himself for the past few days.

Wendy blushed and threw herself into Gavin's chest. "It doesn't hurt anymore."

Gavin stroked her head. "Can you get up?"

Last time, he'd also asked a similar question. Wendy had been too shy then, so she could only be guided by Gavin.

This time, Wendy said bluntly, "No!"

"It doesn't matter." Gavin whispered in Wendy's ear, "I'll help you."

Wendy subconsciously looked at him with suspicion. Then she remembered yesterday's lesson and finally decided not to blurt her doubts out.

Gavin had already seen the clues in her eyes. He pressed his forehead against hers and said, "Don't worry. Last night... I didn't try my best."

The implication was that his physical strength had not yet been used up.

Wendy almost spat out a mouthful of blood.

She was deathly exhausted, but Gavin was saying that he had not tried his best?

"Damn, it's unfair. This is absolutely the greatest unfairness between men and women!"

After breakfast, the nurse came in and hung up Gavin's infusion.

On the spur of the moment, Wendy said, "Gavin, I'll help slide the needle into your skin! Don't worry. I'm very skillful. It won't hurt!"

The nurse pursed her lips, stuck to her professional ethics and prevented herself from laughing.

Gavin took a deep look at Wendy and motioned for the nurse to give her the infusion tube.

The nurse knew that Wendy was also a doctor, but she still asked, "Miss Moore, do you need me to stay with you?"

"No." Wendy smiled and said, "Don't worry. I learned it at school like you!"

"Okay, then I'll come in later and change the infusion bottle for Special Assistant Gavin."

The nurse left the room and closed the door.

Wendy unwrapped the infusion tube and made some preparations. Then, she patted Gavin hard on the back of his hand and abruptly inserted the needle into his blood vessels. She asked expectantly, "How is it? Does it hurt?"

Gavin looked at the back of his hand and then looked at Wendy. "It should be less painful than what you felt last night."

Wendy blushed, grabbed Gavin's hand, and kissed it.

She was reluctant to exert too much strength. Gavin did not feel as much pain now the needle had just been inserted. He touched her head with a smile and let her behave in a mischievous manner.

Yuna was also receiving an infusion.

In order to hide her illness from Rowdy, Yuna could only ask Dr. Roberts to help her contact the professor, so as to learn more about whether the blood clot would affect her fetus.

The professor asked Yuna, "Young lady, what's your intention?"

Yuna's answer was simple. "I want the child."

The professor understood a mother's mood and did not say anything more. He just told Dr. Roberts that he would leave the rest to her.

Dr. Roberts told Rowdy that pregnant women were weak at the early stage of pregnancy, so it would be better for Yuna to take in more nutrition.

Rowdy said that as long as Yuna was willing, he had no objection.

Thus, Dr. Roberts prescribed some medicine for keeping Yuna's fetus safe and sound, as well as some nutritional medicine. Yuna had to receive the infusion for more than seven hours a day.

Emily felt sorry for Yuna and came to ask if she was in pain or if she felt tired from time to time. When Yuna was asleep, the little boy was quiet by her side. Of course, he often fell asleep as well.

After Yuna was done with the drip, Emily would pester her to play games with him.

Yuna had played one online game, and she had been found secretly playing it by Wesley. However, after her grandmother passed away, she had never logged into the game.

A few days ago, Emily had also registered with this game and learned how to play it after just half a day. But he didn't like being at a low level, so he pestered Yuna to help him advance in levels every day.

Anyway, Yuna had nothing to do, so she was happy to brush instance zones and kill the bosses with Emily.

This way of living went on for a week.

On the eighth day, Dr. Roberts proposed to Wesley that it was time for Yuna to have a checkup.

Wesley had something to deal with, so he sent Milo to go with Yuna. He told Milo to keep all of Yuna's schedule a secret and to destroy the checkup records in time.

All in all, he just wanted Wesley to find out nothing in a short time.

In the Eighth Hospital.

Before the checkup began, Yuna asked Dr. Roberts, "What's the main purpose of this project?"

"To check if the fetus is fine." Dr. Roberts smiled and said, "Don't be nervous. Lie down."

Yuna lay on the bed. It did not take long until the checkup was over. She went to Dr. Roberts's office to wait for the results.

Unexpectedly, the professor in the Neurology Department, who had done the examination for her, came back with Dr. Roberts.

Yuna suddenly had a bad feeling and stood up from the sofa. "Dr. Roberts, how is my baby?"

Dr. Roberts sighed helplessly and said, "Let the professor tell you."

"..."

After listening to the professor's words, Yuna's world collapsed into ruins in an instant, and smoke and dust swept across her world.

Her head was buzzing, and her eyes seemed to be burning all of a sudden. Tears fell uncontrollably.

"Girl, you should be hospitalized as soon as possible for treatment," the professor advised. "If it goes on like this, you will die!"

Yuna had thought that after she'd lost her grandmother and then had left Wesley, there was nothing in the world that could hurt her.

But now, a new wound had been added to her deadened heart.

Milo was outside the door, so Yuna could not cry out loud. She could only hold her knees and squat on the ground. She bit her lips tightly, like a desperate little beast, sobbing silently.

"Miss Xu, I'm sorry. I should have told you a week ago." Dr. Roberts put his hand on Yuna's shoulder. "But at that time, I thought that there might still be a glimmer of hope. I really did my best Lately. I used all the drugs I could use..."

"Dr. Roberts." Yuna looked up and grabbed Dr. Roberts's hand. "Could it be that something had gone wrong? Could it be..."

"No." Dr. Roberts shook his head, crushing Yuna's last hope. "I've repeatedly checked it."

Yuna let go of Dr. Roberts's hand and closed her eyes, unable to hold back her tears.

Although she'd experienced so much, she had never complained about fate.

Was that the reason why fate was so cruel to her?

"Knock, knock-"

There was a knock on the door, followed by Milo's voice. "Dr. Roberts, are you done?"

"Not yet." Dr. Roberts said, "I have something to tell Miss Xu."

Milo did not dare to urge Yuna, so he was silent.

Dr. Roberts helped Yuna to sit down on the sofa. "Miss Xu, Mr. Kent... is a little fierce, but it's clear that he really cares about you. You'd better go back and have a discussion with Mr. Kent about when to be hospitalized. The blood clot is too big a threat to you. You must be hospitalized as soon as possible."

"Rowdy?"

Yuna suddenly woke up and asked Dr. Roberts, "Don't let Mr. Kent know about my situation. As for that blood clot, I will come back for treatment later. Don't worry. I won't give up my life so easily."

Of course, the premise for all of this was that she could come back.

Dr. Roberts nodded and promised Yuna. She handed a white medicine bottle to Yuna. "Miss Xu, take this as soon as possible."

Yuna held the bottle tightly and silently tried to calm down. When she looked up again, the tear stains on her face had disappeared.

She shook her head and said, "Let's talk about it another day. Dr. Roberts, I'll to take my child somewhere. I'll contact you when I come back."

"Okay." Dr. Roberts understood Yuna's feelings, but from the doctor's point of view, she still advised, "But you can't delay it for too long."

"I understand."

Yuna washed her face, took out a pair of sunglasses from her bag, put them on, and left the ward.

Milo did not pay much attention to it. He asked Yuna, "Shall we go back to the old residence?"

Yuna said yes and walked straight into the elevator.

Back at the old Kent family residence, there was no trace of tears left on Yuna's face. Wesley asked, "How was the checkup?"

"Everything's fine." Yuna did not want to say more, so she changed the subject. "How well are you prepared for it? I want to get the memory card back as soon as possible for fear of any accident."

"Everything is ready. I'll ask Kim to go with you," Rowdy said.

Kim was a trusted subordinate of Rowdy. He asked Kim to go with her, because on the one hand, he wanted to help her, and on the other hand, he wanted to keep an eye on her, didn't he?

Yuna did not give anything away. She said, "Let's get this done as soon as possible. I'll go tonight."

Rowdy was surprised. "Do you need to be in such a hurry?"

"We've been waiting for half a month." Yuna said with a poker face. "Woud it be 'such a hurry' if I went tonight?"

This Yuna was that Yuna in Rowdy's memory, who was brave, smart, decisive and strong.

Rowdy smiled with relief. "You can go whenever you want."

"I'll go up and get ready."

When Yuna upstairs, Rowdy called Milo and asked, "What was result of the checkup?"

Milo replied, "The doctor was very thorough. After the checkup, she removed the records immediately and no results came out. Later, I asked the doctor and got the reply that everything was normal."

From Yuna's look, it did not seem that there was anything wrong with her.

Rowdy at last felt utterly relieved and waited for Yuna to help him get the memory card back.
