Chapter 827 I Won't Let You Get Hurt Again

Yuna tore off the bandage and made a slipknot. "It's done."

"..." Wesley did not respond.

She raised her head curiously and saw Wesley be obviously distracted.

When it came to that she had dealt with her wounds countless times, wasn't she the one who should be lost in thought?

Why did Wesley steal her scene?

While Yuna was indignant, Wesley suddenly reached out and pushed aside the hair on her left forehead.

She subconsciously dodged and put her hands in front of her chest as a defense. "What are you doing?"

"Don't move!"

Wesley forcefully held Yuna's head with one hand and stroked the scar on her forehead with his thumb.

The three-centimeter scar was like a centipede resting on her forehead. Although it was hard to see it because of the shelter of her hair, it was on her face after all.

This scar was left for Wesley's sake.

A year ago in Arlington, Rowdy suddenly sent some people to attack Wesley. Yuna pushed Wesley away at a critical moment, and was knocked down the hill by a car. Instantly, her forehead was broken and bleeding.

Later, the wound was stitched up. After the sutures were removed, although she had applied some medicine on the wound, there was still an obvious scar on her forehead.

For so long, Yuna herself had almost forgotten this scar, but Wesley still remembered it.

She removed Wesley's hand and said in a casual tone as Wesley had done just now, "It doesn't matter."

Gavin once said that a girl would always care about her own face no matter how she lived, not to mention that Yuna was originally a good-looking woman.

Wesley said, "I'll take you to have an operation."

"Ahem!" Yuna looked at Wesley in disbelief. "Are you serious?"

"Of course, but not now." Wesley said, "After the baby is born, I'll take you there when you recover."

He seemed to be serious.

"... No!" Yuna tidied up the first-aid kit and stood up. "Wesley, when you see this scar, you will remember that I saved you, right? I will never have an operation. I just want you to remember that I saved you forever!"

"..." Wesley took a deep look at Yuna and said, "In that case, I can promise you another thing."

He said it seriously, and there was a hint of absoluteness in his tone that could not be ignored.

To put it bluntly, he was overbearing.

However, Yuna was confused. "Wesley, I don't seem to have made any requests to you..." "What does Wesley want to promise me?"

Wesley glanced at Yuna with disdain. After a while, he said, "I promise you, I won't let you get hurt again."

Yuna choked again and almost could not react.

When she came to her senses, she found it interesting. She looked at Wesley with a big smile and asked, "Are you making a promise?"

Why did Wesley's promise sound as if God was announcing his will?

It was both fantastic and unexpected, and she could only accept it.

After all, how could mortals defy God's will?

Wesley narrowed his dark eyes and asked, "Did you hear me clearly?"

Yuna trembled and nodded hurriedly. "Yes!"

"Very good." Wesley ordered, "Remember it!"

This was the first time he had made a promise to a woman. If Yuna did not remember it...

Thinking of this, Wesley suddenly realized that even if Yuna didn't remember it well, he could not do anything to her.

He would still protect her from getting hurt.

Wesley finally understood what Brian had said. You had a lot of ways to deal with others, but you couldn't do anything to her.

This feeling that he could do nothing to a person should be terrible.

However, he didn't want to make any changes.

At the same time, it was the first time that someone tSimon Yuna that he would protect her.

Although Wesley said this in a roundabout way, Yuna still felt a warm thing generating in her heart, and it gradually filled her whole heart.

It was the feeling of being touched. She hadn't experienced it for a long time, and she did not expect that Wesley would let her try it without warning.

Yuna did not tell Wesley that she might never get hurt again...

...

On the second floor, in the children's room.

After drinking milk in the arms of their parents, Aiden and Romy fell asleep.

Joanne calculated the time, tugged at Brian and said, "Let's go down."

When they got downstairs, sure enough, Yuna had already dealt with Wesley's wound.

Joanne walked over and said, "You haven't had dinner yet, have you? We haven't had dinner either. We can eat together."

Simon served the food, and the last dish was a pot of soup with Chinese herbal medicine. Mrs. Wu said, "When Mrs. Lambert was pregnant with Aiden and Romy, the chef often cooked this soup. Miss Xu, drink some. It's very nourishing!"

Yuna was a little embarrassed, but the soup was really delicious. She even had a better appetite than before.

After the meal, Brian and Wesley went to the study to talk about some matters. Only Joanne and Yuna were left in the living room.

Mrs. Wu brought a plate of fruits and two cups of hot tea. Joanne took them and handed a cup of tea to Yuna, saying, "I think Wesley seems to have changed."

Yuna tugged at the tea bag and asked curiously, "What change is there in him? Why don't I feel anything?"

"Those closely involved cannot see clearly." Joanne thought for a moment and added, "To put it bluntly, Wesley isn't as scary as he used to be. Do you know how Wendy calls him? Boss Hayes. If Wendy sees him now, she won't call him like that."

After a pause, Joanne continued, "The dark and mysterious aura from Wesley is diluted. Is it because he is to be a father?"

"Puff..." Yuna almost spat out the hot tea in her mouth. "Joanne, that's your illusion. There's no change in Wesley. Wesley pulled the trigger without batting an eye even when we were attacked on the way here just now. He..."

Joanne interrupted Yuna. "Wesley did that to protect you, didn't he?"

"..." Yuna was stunned. Just now, Wesley was indeed trying his best to protect her.

Joanne smiled and ate a piece of grapefruit, leisurely enjoying Yuna's speechless expression.

After a long while, Yuna came to her senses and took a sip of hot tea.

Joanne seized this opportunity and went straight to the point. "Yuna, since you're already back, just stay."

Yuna held the teacup tightly and smiled. "I want to go up and see the two babies. They were born so long ago, but I haven't seen them carefully."

She was changing the topic, stiffly and obviously.

Joanne had to end the topic and took Yuna upstairs.

Coincidentally, Romy woke up. It was rare for her to not cry. She lay quietly on the baby's bed and gnawed at her fingers.

Joanne picked up her daughter and poked her little face. "Auntie Yuna is here to see you."

The little girl looked at Yuna and made some vague sounds. No one knew what she wanted to say.

Yuna looked at the little girl with delicate and tender skin, and asked, "Can I hug her?"

"Of course." Joanne handed Romy directly to Yuna.

When Emily was a child, Yuna had also hugged him. But at that time, Emily had already been able to climb and sit. Romy was a newborn in its strict sense.

The little girl was very obedient, quietly leaning in Yuna's arms and constantly looking at Joanne. Occasionally, she would look at Yuna, as if to recognize her mother. She looked very cute.

Yuna couldn't help thinking that if her and Wesley's child could come to this world, would it be a boy or a girl? If it was a girl, would she be as cute as Romy?

Romy suddenly burst into tears and struggled in Yuna's arms. Yuna instantly didn't know what to do.

"Don't worry." Joanne smiled and hugged her daughter. "Let me hold her."

In Joanne's arms, the little girl was still crying. Joanne was afraid that she would wake up Aiden, so she had to coax Romy while carrying her out.

Yuna looked at Joanne and suddenly felt that being a mother was a happy thing.

She might also have... such happiness.

Outside, Romy's childish and soft crying entered the study. Brian pushed open the door and walked out. "What's wrong with Romy?"

"She is crying again." Joanne's tone was full of helplessness. "Do you think she is going to help Aiden shed tears?"

It was not unreasonable for Joanne to say so.

Normally, Aiden hardly cried, but Romy's crying echoed in the house from time to time, which sounded pitiful and heartbreaking.

Brian smiled and held his daughter. "It doesn't matter. I can comfort her."

Joanne was speechless. It was the first time she had seen someone who doted on his daughter so much...

Romy always listened to Brian's words more, and she stopped crying soon after she entered her father's arms. She happily moved in Brian's arms, with her big black grape-like eyes keeping rolling.

While Brian teased his daughter, his smile slowly climbed up to the corners of his eyes and eyebrows. He obviously forgot that Wesley was still waiting for him in the study.

Joanne did not forget that and reminded Brian. He said, "I'll go in with Romy in my arms."

Yuna watched the whole process and couldn't help sighing. "Mr. Brian has really changed."

Joanne was used to such a sigh and smiled. "Let's go down first."

There were only Brian and Wesley left in the study on the second floor, as well as Romy.

Perhaps it was because she had slept for a while, she was particularly energetic and kept moving in Brian's arms. As soon as Brian's attention was diverted from her, she protested with vague sounds, so Brian could only stop to coax her.

Seeing this, Wesley said, "As for the rest, let's talk about it next time."

"Yep," Brian said. "You can go down first. I'll coax my daughter to sleep."

Wesley did not get up, and his eyes were fixed on Brian and Romy.

Brian was in confusion. "Is there anything else?"

Wesley said, "I think I can... learn how to hold a baby."

Brian broke into laughter. "Do you want to have a try?"

When Romy was born, Wesley held her in his arms in the hospital. He tried to recall the right position of holding a child and carefully took over little Romy.

After staring at Wesley for a while, Romy suddenly grabbed his clothes and said, "Hmm," as if she was greeting Wesley, without feeling strange or rejecting him at all.

Wesley raised the corner of his mouth and suddenly looked forward to seeing his own baby more...
