A short time later, Romy fell asleep in Wesley's arms.
She tilted her head with one side of her face buried in Wesley's arms, and the beautiful outline of her double-fold eyelids was clearly visible.
She clenched her small hand near her mouth and looked so satisfied in her sweet sleep as if she were holding something delicious.
Wesley finally knew how happy Brian was now.
However, he was not envious because he would soon lead a happy life as well.
Brian took his daughter to her room and put her on the bed, then he went downstairs with Wesley.
On their way down the stairs, Brian suddenly asked, "Are you sure that Liang Zhong wouldn't betray us?"
Liang Zhong and Rowdy were in personal contact, so Brian was still worried that Liang Zhong would tell Rowdy about the whereabouts of Yuna.
"I've warned him," Wesley said. "After Liang Zhong met Yuna in the club, I found out that he had a connection with Rowdy. However, even if Rowdy asks him about it, I don't think he will dare to reveal anything."
After a pause, Wesley continued, "And even if Liang Zhong tells Rowdy about it, Rowdy still can't take Yuna away from the top of the mountain-this feeling would be more torturous."
That was right. It would be torturous to know the truth but not be able to do anything about it.
Wesley's words showed that he was as cunning as Brian.
Downstairs, they ended the topic tacitly.
When Joanne saw Brian coming down, she put down the teacup and asked, "Where is Romy?"
Brian glanced at Wesley and said, "He put her to sleep."
Yuna almost got choked upon hearing the words and wondered, "Wesley put her to sleep?"
"She would cry in my arms, but she could fall asleep in his arms?"
"Damn, does he have magic?"
Joanne was also surprised, but she did not show it on her face at all.
Wesley said to Yuna, "Let's go back."
"All right."
Yuna said goodbye to Joanne and Brian and then followed Wesley out.
After getting in the car, Yuna couldn't help looking at Wesley from time to time.
She did this so many times that Wesley could not help but ask, "If you have anything to ask me, just say it."
"When did you learn how to put a baby to sleep?" Yuna asked curiously, "It doesn't sound like something you would do."
Wesley glanced at Yuna and said, "I learned it because I would have my baby one day. You have a problem with that?"
Yuna didn't dare to say yes. She nodded and said, "No. After all, we ordinary people have no right to judge you."
However, Yuna still thought it was inconceivable-the omnipotent man, Wesley, actually learned how to get along with a baby.
"Maybe he's really looking forward to having a baby."
To change the topic, Yuna asked, "Your cooperation with Liang Zhong is not as simple as you said, is it? If you have just kicked Liang Zhong out of the project, would he have taken the risk to attack you?"
Maybe ordinary people in Arlington didn't know much about Wesley, but Liang Zhong did.
If he hadn't suffered a great loss, Liang Zhong wouldn't have dared to offend Wesley.
Since Yuna had known Rowdy for so many years, she could see through it clearly.
Wesley looked at Yuna with appreciation and explained, "After I kick Liang Zhong out of this project, he would lose his most profitable business and his status in the south will be much lower than that of those who came with him yesterday."
That meant, after Wesley kicked Liang Zhong out of the project, Liang Zhong's business and status were threatened. No wonder he dared to take the risk to attack Wesley yesterday.
Liang Zhong probably wanted to make a final effort. If he made it, he might be able to reverse the situation.
But now, Liang Zhong could only ask Rowdy for help.
Would Rowdy know her location through Liang Zhong?
If Rowdy knew where she was, would he go up the mountain to pick her up?
Yuna was lost in thought. When she returned to the villa on the top of the mountain, she was still thinking about that.
Wesley got out of the car and opened the door of the passenger seat. Only then did Yuna realize she reached home. She unfastened her seat belt, and when she was about to jump out of the car, Wesley carried her out of it.
He then put her on the ground.
Yuna looked up in shock and saw the displeased look in his eyes.
"What did I do that provoked him?" She wondered.
"Yuna, you're pregnant now!" Wesley warned her in a deep tone. "You should be careful."
Only then did Yuna realize that her trying to jump out was too dangerous in Wesley's eyes. It was indeed not something a pregnant woman should do.
"All right... I won't do this again..."
Yuna whispered; she was always more stubborn than others.
Wesley took her into the bathroom and ordered, "Take a shower and go to bed early."
Yuna looked at Wesley, unwilling to give up. She pushed him out and closed the door.
When she came out of the bathroom, Wesley was no longer in the room.
He must be dealing with something in the study now.
Yuna was glad that Wesley was not around at the moment. After drying her hair, she lay down on the bed. Her head suddenly ached, and then everything started to blur.
She thought of what the professor and Dr. Roberts had said.
"In the future, your symptom will become worse and worse. If you don't handle it in time, you may die..."
She couldn't do it, and she didn't want Wesley to know the truth.
He loved babies so much that he even began to learn to be a good daddy. The truth would be a cruel blow to him.
Yuna pulled over the quilt to cover herself, gritting her teeth and waited for it to get better.
The pain lasted for 10 minutes.
Ten minutes later, the pain eased. She kicked the quilt away, and everything in her sight gradually became clear.
She touched her sweaty forehead, which was frighteningly cold.
Fortunately, Wesley didn't see all this.
Yuna got up and drank some hot water. Then, she lay back on the bed and soon fell asleep.
She slept soundly as if nothing had happened.
When Wesley came back from the study, he saw that Yuna had fallen asleep, so he closed the door quietly.
For so many years, he was used to being alone and doing whatever he wanted.
Yuna's presence inevitably changed him a bit.
However, he accepted it completely, as if Yuna was a part of his life. He didn't need any transition period to adapt to Yuna's presence, and he even had some expectations for their future.
No wonder Brian, who had made up his mind to divorce Joanne two years after they got married, did not divorce her at all but even had two lovely babies with her.
Some people really could keep you attached to them.
After Wesley took a shower, he hugged Yuna and slept all night peacefully.
The next day soon arrived.
In Yuna's room at the old residence of the Kent family.
The birdsong downstairs gradually became clear. Emily woke up, rubbed his eyes, and sat up in a daze. He looked at the bed, but he didn't see Yuna.
Before Yuna left, she promised him that she would come back when it was dawn.
Now it was dawn, but she didn't come back yet.
He seemed accustomed to her letting him down. He calmly washed his face and went downstairs.
Today, his daddy was talking to the guest, so he could not disturb them. He sat on the stairs with his hands on his chin and tilted his head to listen to their conversation.
"Liang Zhong, you've met Wesley. Tell me the truth. Did you see Yuna?" Rowdy asked Liang Zhong, who was sitting opposite him.
In the past few days, Rowdy had been looking for Yuna. But after Wesley took Yuna away, she completely disappeared.
Now, all of Rowdy's hopes were on Liang Zhong. He had shown several photos of Yuna to Liang Zhong.
Liang Zhong immediately realized that the woman in the photo was the one he had met in the club the other day.
But Wesley had warned him that if he dared to reveal Yuna's whereabouts, he would report all the things he had secretly done in the past few years to the police.
Liang Zhong was more or less afraid of Wesley, but now, Yuna's whereabouts could be a bargaining chip for his negotiation with Wesley.
Liang Zhong smiled at Rowdy and said, "I just know where Wesley is now. I guess Yuna should be with him."
Rowdy hit the table and asked, "Where is he?"
"Mr. Kent, calm down," Liang Zhong said, "I'm going to use the whereabouts of Yuna to make a deal with you. Since we're going to make a deal, I have to confirm if she is with him. Can you wait for me for a day?"
That day was the time for him to negotiate with Wesley.
"How are you going to confirm it?" Rowdy asked.
Liang Zhong answered in a mysterious tone, "Don't worry, I have my own way. As for whether she is there or not, I will definitely tell you later."
After saying that, Liang Zhong left.
Before he could go far, a child's voice came from behind him. "Uncle!"
Liang Zhong turned around and saw a little boy wearing a pair of small leather boots and a black wool coat. Someone whispered to him, "This is Rowdy's son. I met him in Kangs' house last time."
"Does Rowdy really have a son?"
Liang Zhong instantly thought of an idea, so he beckoned him over and asked, "What's wrong?"
"Do you know where Auntie Yuna is? Can you take me to her?" Emily took out two lollipops from his pocket and continued, "I'll give you all my lollipops!"
"I know where she is. Keep the lollipops for yourself." Liang Zhong smiled and lifted up Emily. "I'll take you to her."
Emily smiled happily and said, "Thank you, uncle!"
