Chapter 855 The Results of the Checkup Come Out

In the ward, Emily was playing with Gavin, while Wendy, who was watching them, couldn't help smiling.

The atmosphere was relaxing and jovial.

Outside the ward, Yuna finally adjusted her state and followed Wesley to the building of the obstetrics department.

If the truth could not be hidden, then just expose it.

Anyway, Wesley would find it out sooner or later...

After entering the elevator, Yuna closed her eyes and thought of the professor's and Dr. Liu's words.

The professor had said that there would be some changes in her body after getting pregnant, and these changes would affect the blood clot in her brain and make the state of her illness more uncontrollable.

The professor had suggested she give up on the fetus for her safety.

However, it was created by Wesley and her. How could she give it up so easily?

On the contrary, she hoped that before she died, the child could come to this world.

Later, when she returned to the residence of the Kent family, Dr. Liu had always given her intravenous infusion, trying to reduce the impact of the blood clot on the fetus.

She therefore laid all her hopes on Dr. Roberts.

A week later, Dr. Roberts arranged for her to go back to the hospital for a checkup.

The result came out soon. Dr. Roberts told her that the fetus no longer had any vitality, which might be because of the impact of the blood clot.

She could not accept the fact and silently cried hard in Dr. Liu's office.

Then, the professor told her to get rid of the fetus as soon as possible.

Otherwise, the fetus would keep affecting the blood clot, and her life would be therefore in danger at any time.

After that, Dr. Roberts gave her the aborticide, suggesting that she do her best to protect herself since she could not keep the child.

But she didn't take it, nor did she listen to the professor's suggestion on the disposal of the fetus. Instead, she decided to find Wesley and get the memory card for Rowdy.

The professor and Dr. Roberts didn't understand her stubbornness, and she didn't want to tell them that it was because she was unwilling to give up.

Even if her child could not come to this world, she should at least let it see its father.

What she didn't expect was that Wesley had set up a trap for her. She went to him and was caught by him all of a sudden.

Wesley forced her to explain why she had fainted. In order to hide the existence of the blood clot, she had to tell Wesley that she was pregnant.

She had thought that Wesley would at least ask who was the child's father.

However, Wesley simply insisted that the child was his son, and he didn't even suspect it at all. He showed his great determination to keep this child and warned her not to escape.

The happier Wesley was, the sadder Yuna was.

Because Wesley's happiness would be gone soon.

He was looking forward to the birth of their child. However, their child had already stopped breathing and had no chance to look at the world at all.

She didn't want Wesley to suffer the pain of losing his child, nor did she want him to know that she would die at any time, so she kept it a secret from him.

However, once the checkup was done, the fact that the child had no vitality could no longer be concealed.

Thus, she would not be able to hide her blood clot.

Would Wesley break down after suffering one blow after another?

When they arrived at the building of the obstetrics department, the female chief doctor in her fifties did the checkup personally, assisted by the experienced head nurse. Soon, the two of them arranged all the examinations for Yuna.

The chief doctor said to Yuna, "Miss Xu, come with me."

Yuna nodded and followed the doctor, considering if she could escape.

However, Emily was still here. She could not just leave like this.

After walking a few steps, Yuna felt a tug on her hand. She looked back and found that Wesley had not released her hand. She stared at him with confusion and asked, "What's wrong?"

"What are you hiding from me?" Wesley said, "It's still not too late to tell me now."

Yuna shook her head. "No."

She couldn't tell Wesley personally that the child had stopped breathing.

Wesley gazed at her with sharp eyes. "Since you don't have anything to hide from me, why is your hand so cold?"

Yuna casually made up an excuse. "I'm feeling a little cold."

She seemed to be half-buried in the snow. Not only her hands but also her whole body was cold.

Wesley frowned, took off his coat and put it on Yuna, and signaled for the doctor to take her away.

After entering the examination room, Yuna lay on the bed according to the doctor's instructions. Then she closed her eyes subconsciously and clutched the sheets under her body.

Now, Wesley finally noticed that Yuna was nervous.

"Idiot. What's there to be nervous about?"

Although he thought so, Wesley still came over, sat down on the other side of the bed, and grabbed Yuna's hand.

Yuna felt that it was Wesley. She opened her eyes and saw that it was really him. Then there was a trace of unconcealable astonishment at the bottom of her eyes.

"Is this Wesley's tenderness?"

"Relax. I'm here." Wesley seemed to be ordering her but also comforting her.

Yuna closed her eyes and suppressed her urge to cry.

If Wesley knew that he was about to hear the bad news, would he still ask her to relax?

The doctor only did the examinations on the fetus, so they certainly wouldn't know why the fetus stopped breathing. If Wesley asked her why, how should she answer?

The whole process of the checkup was long and painless torture for Yuna.

However, Wesley stayed by her side and never released her hand.

After an unknown period of time, the director finally stood up and said, "Okay, it's over. Mr. Mu, please take Miss Xu back to my office first. It will take about twenty to thirty minutes for me to get the results."

Wesley nodded and looked at Yuna on the bed. "Get up."

Yuna slowly opened her eyes, got up, and followed Wesley back to the office.

She sat on the sofa with a blank mind, as if her soul had not returned with her body.

Wesley unscrewed a bottle of mineral water and handed it to Yuna.

Yuna unclenched her fists and took the water. Her hand trembled, and the water in the bottle almost spilled out.

Wesley narrowed his eyes and abruptly grabbed Yuna's hand. "Yuna, I'll give you another chance."

If Yuna really hid something from him, it would not be too late for her to say it now. He could forgive her for anything.

Yuna broke away from Wesley's hand and raised her chin slightly to drink water. At the same time, she used this action to avoid Wesley's gaze. "I have nothing to say."

Wesley sat down opposite Yuna and checked the time. After fifteen minutes, the doctor would come back with the checkup results, and he would know whether Yuna was hiding anything from him.

The doctor returned earlier than they had expected, with a picture and two sheets of results in her hand.

Yuna looked at the doctor who was stepping in fast, as if she had seen the gate of hell opening quickly.

Wesley stood up. "What are the results?"

His expression and tone were very tense, inexplicably exerting pressure on people.

The doctor motioned for Wesley to sit down while saying, "The picture shows that everything is normal with the fetus. In addition, there is nothing wrong with other examinations."

Wesley glanced at Yuna, and the tension finally disappeared from his facial outline.

Yuna was stunned. She felt half a century had passed, but in fact, she reacted almost in the next second.

Her voice was almost trembling. "Doctor, can I have a look at the results?"

"Of course." The doctor handed the picture and the results to Yuna.

Yuna scanned the results one by one, but her medical knowledge was not enough to understand the professional examination results.

The doctor noticed that Yuna was puzzled, so she sat beside Yuna and explained to her. "As shown in the picture, it is the fetus. It is still very small now, so it looks like a little bean sprout. As for these two sheets of results, this is on... Anyway, you just need to know the results are normal!"

The doctor had made it very clear, but Yuna still couldn't help confirming it again. "So, everything is fine. My child is very healthy, isn't it?"

"Don't worry." The doctor smiled. "The fetus is very healthy. It's developing very well now. There's nothing wrong, but..."

"But what?!" Wesley and Yuna asked almost at the same time.

"Don't be nervous." The doctor added, "We just accidentally found that Miss Xu doesn't seem to be in good condition. In the future, the fetus will probably suffer from malnutrition. So, the expectant mother must pay attention to supplementing the nutrition. You can consult nutritionists about this."

Yuna was still a little stunned. "Isn't there anything wrong except for this?"

The doctor simply thought that Yuna was worried about the fetus, so she signaled her to relax and said with a smile, "In fact, the fetus is much stronger than we thought. During the pregnancy, as long as you pay attention to supplementing the nutrition and do various examinations regularly to solve problems, the fetus will be born safely."

Born safely...

Once, Yuna fell into despair, thinking that the two words had nothing to do with the child in her belly.

But now, the doctor clearly told her that her child would be able to come to this world.

She didn't want to investigate why Dr. Roberts had lied to her for the time being. She only knew that this moment was the happiest in her life.

Yuna looked at the doctor and burst into tears.

The doctor was stunned and took a look at Wesley. "Mr. Mu, ..."

Wesley did not say anything, but just made an eye gesture to the doctor.

The doctor nodded and went out with the head nurse.

Wesley walked to Yuna and looked at her with disdain. "What are you crying for?"

Yuna raised her head and looked at Wesley, who was her child's father. She wanted to say something, but before she could speak, her tears had already flowed out even more fiercely.

Wesley wiped away Yuna's tears with the back of his hand, but her eyes were like an opened tap, so the tears couldn't stop at all.

In the end, he softened his voice. "Yuna, what happened? Why are you not willing to tell me?"

Yuna pulled Wesley's arm and bit him hard.

Wesley just frowned slightly and didn't force Yuna to loosen her mouth.

Without mercy, Yuna left a row of deep bites on Wesley's arm before letting go of him and said reasonably, "Haven't you heard that pregnant women's mood is always changing?!"

Wesley looked at her carefully and suddenly held the back of her head, took her into his arms, and lowered his head to kiss her lips...
