Chapter 858 Will You Be My Supper? (1)

It was cruel to anyone that the person they love was sick.

What Wendy had experienced was even crueler to her.

She always remembered the day when Gavin held her hand and collapsed in front of her before putting the proposal ring on her finger.

No warning and no transitional period.

Gavin's illness, which was so serious that it could endanger his life at any time, was exposed in front of her like that. It was not negotiable at all.

She cried and cried. The only thing she could do next was to face reality.

From crying to facing it, she only spent one night.

After accepting Gavin's illness, no matter how optimistic and carefree she was, she was still afraid.

She was afraid that when she woke up one day, she would not be able to wake up Gavin suddenly.

Therefore, even if she always accompanied Gavin at the hospital, she was still keen on staying in bed and waiting for Gavin to wake her up and ask her what she wanted to eat for breakfast.

In this world, no one could understand better the beauty of being woken up by her love than her.

She decided to marry Gavin neither on impulse nor on the spur of the moment. It was her wish.

If Joanne agreed, it meant that her wish could be fulfilled.

It seemed very difficult not to cry at this time.

Joanne handed Aiden to Martha and wiped away Wendy's tears. "Don't cry. If your eyes swell up, how will you explain to Gavin when you go back? Are you going to say that Aiden and Romy bullied you?"

Wendy nodded with tears and laughter. She wiped away her tears and asked curiously, "What will Gavin do if I cry because of Aiden and Romy?"

Joanne shook her head. "I don't know much about Gavin in this respect. But if I cry because of your and Gavin's babies in the future, I know what your cousin-in-law will do."

Wendy stopped crying in an instant. She asked with expectation and fear, "What... will he do?"

"Don't worry. Your cousin-in-law is an adult. Of course, he won't bully children." Joanne said, "He will only send Aiden and Romy for revenge."

Wendy was too immersed in the assumption. "... I suddenly felt as if I were really bullied by Aiden and Romy."

Yuna thought to herself that both Aiden and Romy were innocent.

While she was thinking, Joanne's voice was heard. "Yuna, did Wesley take you to have a checkup?"

Yuna came to her senses and unconsciously covered her lower abdomen with her hand. She nodded and said, "Yes."

Joanne had already guessed the result and said with a smile, "Everything is normal, right?"

Now, it was Yuna's turn to be surprised. She looked at Joanne in a daze. "Why are you... so sure?"

Joanne pointed at Yuna's hand on her lower abdomen. "I had the same reaction as you when I was pregnant with Aiden and Romy."

Yuna immediately understood. She smiled and gave Joanne a look of understanding.

Wendy rested her chin on her hand, looked at Joanne and Yuna, and silently envied them.

She hoped that when she wanted a baby, she could talk to Joanne with ease about the experience of pregnancy.

It was worth emphasizing that she was still a baby!

It should be a few years before she wanted to have a baby.

She must mention it all of a sudden, "Let's have a baby." It would shock Gavin!

Joanne picked up an orange and shook it in front of Wendy. "Wendy, what are you thinking? Your mind has wandered to the foot of the mountain."

Wendy took over the orange, peeled it into segments, and ate one piece. It was so tasty, sour and sweet, that she couldn't help eating another segment. Then she said, "I was just thinking about what birthday present I should give to Emily."

Joanne asked Yuna in surprise, "Is Emily's birthday coming soon?"

Yuna nodded. "Yeah."

Every child's birthday was to commemorate its arrival in this world, and deserved to be celebrated.

However, no matter how much Joanne liked Emily, the little boy was still Rowdy's son.

Joanne thought about it and said, "I'll make a cake for Emily as a birthday gift."

Wendy didn't think too much about it. She just felt that Joanne had a good intention and then became even more depressed. "Yuna, what does Emily like?"

It couldn't be wrong to choose what Emily liked as a gift for him!

Yuna said, "In fact, Emily lacks for nothing. He will be very happy if you keep him company."

"I also think that Emily wants for nothing else but our company." Wendy was puzzled. "Did he not have anyone to accompany him when he was at home?"

"His mother passed away accidentally when he was very young. He was brought up by a nanny in America." Yuna added, "It's not that no one accompanied him, but that no one had ever accompanied him."

"Little poor boy. It's rare for him to be so outgoing and cheerful." In a dilemma, Wendy played her fingers. "I really don't want to send him back."

Seeing that they would come to a heavy topic, Joanne said, "Wendy, let's talk about your wedding."

"Okay!" Wendy's attention was easily diverted. She thought for a moment and asked, "Let's talk about the wedding dress first?"

Joanne turned on the computer and logged into the official website of a certain brand. While searching for the wedding dress, she said, "We're pressed for time. A custom-made wedding dress can't be ready in time. Let's see which brand of wedding dress you like. If you don't like any of them, we will consider the custom-made wedding dress."

"Okay!" Wendy smiled at Joanne. "You're married, I'll listen to you!"

Joanne thought about it and felt that she should tell Wendy the truth. "In fact, I'm just a married woman, but I never held a wedding..."

"Ah?" Wendy widened her eyes and asked curiously, "I thought my cousin-in-law had given you a romantic and dreamy wedding!"

Joanne gently shattered Wendy's beautiful fantasy. "We had already discussed when we would get divorced before we got our marriage certificate. How could we hold a wedding?"

Wendy touched the tip of her nose and shook her head. "It's too weird!"

"Let's not talk about this." Joanne motioned for Wendy to look at the computer screen. "Look at these designs of wedding dress."

After glancing through all the wedding dresses of several brands, Wendy picked three of three different brands. But in the end, she hesitated and didn't know which one she should pick.

Joanne was also very conflicted, so she simply sent the pictures to Freya and asked for her advice.

When Wendy decided on the style of the wedding dress, Emily just woke up. The little boy ran from the next door with messy hair directly to Joanne. "Auntie Joanne, are the babies still sleeping?"

"Yeah, they haven't woken up yet." Joanne carried Emily onto the sofa. "Wait here for a moment. The babies should wake up soon."

"Okay!" Emily obediently sat on the sofa. He noticed the smile on Wendy's face and couldn't help asking, "Sister Wendy, why are you so happy?"

Wendy sat closer to Emily and pinched his face. "I'm getting married! Do you want to be a flower boy?"

"Yes!" Emily tilted his head and asked, "But when will you and Uncle Gavin get married?"

Wendy calculated the time. "Probably... a little more than two weeks later."

"..."

Emily didn't speak, and his eyes darkened little by little.

He was willing to be the flower boy, but he couldn't stay here for so long...

Only then did Wendy remember that Wesley would send the little boy back soon.

She gently caressed Emily's head. "If you don't have time, it doesn't matter if you don't promise me."

"Hehe." Emily squeezed out a smile. "As long as Mr. Mu hasn't sent me back, I can promise you!"

"Okay, that's settled then!"

Wendy hooked Emily's pinky finger with hers and then changed the topic.

After dinner in the afternoon, Wendy didn't stay longer and asked Winston to send her back.

Joanne handed Wendy a thermal lunch box. "Martha made the soup for Gavin. Take it back."

Wendy took it and teased Emily. "Do you want to go with me? I'll send you here tomorrow."

Emily thought for a while and frowned. "I don't think Uncle Gavin will welcome me. Besides, I want to play with the babies!"

Wendy lightly poked Emily's forehead and said, "Playing with the babies is more important, isn't it?"

Emily smiled mischievously and didn't deny it. Wendy didn't say anything else, got into the car, and went back to the hospital.

After they went down the mountain, it was a twenty-minute drive to the hospital.

Wendy got out of the car with the thermal lunch box in her hand and ran back to the hospital building.

Gavin had just finished dinner. She put the thermal lunch box on the table. "Martha made the soup for you. Drink it!"

Gavin took out two small bowls, filled them with the soup, and handed one to Wendy.

Wendy quickly drank half a bowl of soup and licked her lips to feel the long aftertaste. "So great!"

Gavin carefully gazed at Wendy. "Are you in a good mood?" The brightness and happiness in her eyes were very obvious and could not be ignored.

Subconsciously, Wendy wanted to nod. Of course, she was in a good mood because she was going to marry Gavin!

But on second thought, she realized that Gavin didn't know it.

Immediately, she stopped herself from nodding, compressed her lips, and said, "Today, Cousin made the dinner. It's so tasty!"

Delicacies were indeed a great tool to bribe Wendy.

Gavin didn't doubt Wendy's words at all. He took her bowl and wanted to fill it with the soup again.

To be honest, Wendy still wanted to drink the soup, and besides, she was not very full.

However, before she came back, Joanne specifically reminded her that the wedding dress was designed to be close-fitting. She must maintain her current weight with constant measurements of her chest, waist, and hips!

Wendy gritted her teeth, covered the mouth of the bowl, and bitterly said, "I don't want it anymore."

Gavin looked at Wendy and said, "It seems that you want it."

"Anyway, I won't drink anymore," Wendy said reasonably. "I'm afraid I'll get fat!"

"I don't mind." Gavin said, "I want you even if you get fat."

Wendy snorted. "It has nothing to do with you. It's a demand I place on myself!"

Before Gavin said anything, she had taken away the bowls to wash.

Only once in a lifetime could she be the bride. She must show her perfect body shape when she wore the wedding dress!

She must be on a diet!

Gavin looked at Wendy's back.

She didn't gain weight easily, so she had been eating and drinking all the time wantonly. It was impossible for her not to dare drink a bowl of soup because she was afraid of getting fat.

Considering that Wendy was a mischievous girl, Gavin had a hunch that he should pay more attention to Wendy.
