At the end of the dream, Yuna felt a tearing pain, as if someone was cutting her into pieces with a knife.
"Wesley!"
She suddenly woke up in cold sweat, calling Wesley's name.
Wesley was a light sleeper. Hearing Yuna's voice, he immediately opened his eyes and looked at her-
Yuna was gasping, with her hand grabbing his clothes tightly. She was just like a person who accidentally fell off the cliff and grasped the tree growing on the cliff edge. Her doe-liked eyes were full of horror and looked particularly empty.
Wesley turned on the bedside lamp and held Yuna's hand. "What's wrong?" He asked.
After a long while, Yuna finally managed to make a sound. "I had a nightmare..."
Wesley frowned and asked, "What did you dream of?"
Yuna hesitated for a moment and shook her head. "I can't remember clearly..."
Wesley stopped asking. He turned over and held Yuna in his arms. "It's okay. It's just a dream. Hit the sack."
He held her tightly, making her unable to wiggle out of his embrace. However, this gave her an indescribable sense of security.
For the first time, Yuna didn't struggle. She leaned against Wesley and closed her eyes, but she could not fall asleep at all.
She remembered every detail of the dream, but she didn't want to tell Wesley for fear that he wouldn't bear the same fear.
However, it was said by the older generation that dreams were often the opposite of reality.
That was to say, the terrible things in her dream would never happen in real life. As Wesley said, it was just a dream.
Comforting herself in this way, Yuna finally felt a little relieved, and her breathing gradually became steady. After a while, she fell into a deep sleep.
Day broke soon.
Yuna had slept for a long time this morning. When she opened her eyes, she found the sunshine had already strewed the carpet in front of the French window.
According to her experience, it was at least 10 o'clock.
She turned over and saw Wesley sitting on the sofa and staring at the laptop on his lap.
"Gee-"
Yuna gasped in surprise.
Hearing that, Wesley looked up at her and asked, "Awake?"
Yuna pulled the quilt to cover herself and looked at Wesley in confusion. "Why are you still at home?" she asked.
Wesley put down his computer, got up, and walked straight to the bed. "I'm waiting for you," he responded.
Yuna's eyes lit up. She asked with her voice full of undisguised expectation, "Are you going to take me out?"
She had gotten bored with staying on the top of the mountain, so she wanted to take a stroll for a long time.
Wesley smiled and broke Yuna's fantasy with four words. "You think too much."
Yuna put away her smile in disappointment. She uncovered the quilt and got out of bed, asking angrily, "Then why are you waiting for me?"
"I'm wondering why did you have a nightmare last night," said Wesley.
Yuna was stunned. "Wesley is still at home now just because of my nightmare?"
"Oh my god, it's too abnormal."
Yuna turned around and looked at Wesley. After thinking for a while, she was still in puzzlement. She said, "It's hard to explain why I had the nightmare. Everyone has nightmares. Generally, there's no complicated reason, so you don't have to worry too much. Anyway, I'm fine now. Haven't you had nightmares?"
Wesley said coldly, "I usually appear in others' nightmares."
Yuna felt as if a fishbone was stuck in her throat. She responded stiffly, "Don't worry, I didn't have the nightmare because of you. I can't even remember what I dreamed of, not to mention the fear."
Wesley scrutinized Yuna - she didn't seem to be afraid anymore, and she was as relaxed as usual as if the person who grabbed his clothes last night were not her.
So he stopped talking about the nightmare and said, "I won't come back tonight."
Yuna asked subconsciously, "Where are you going?"
Wesley looked at her without saying anything.
Only then did Yuna realize that there was something that Wesley couldn't tell her and she'd better not know.
She said, "Okay, I got it. You can go."
"If you are afraid at night, you can go to Joanne," Wesley said. "Brian will not come back, either."
Yuna thought for a while, but she still couldn't understand Wesley. She looked at him blankly and asked, "Why will I be afraid?"
Wesley's expression suddenly became a little unnatural. "Anyway, remember what I said."
"Sure," Yuna responded casually, "I'll keep it in mind."
Just then, Wesley's phone rang. Rather than picking it up, he hung up the phone, and said, "I gotta go."
Yuna wanted to pretend not to care about him, but she couldn't help saying, "Wesley... be careful."
After all, she was still worried about him.
Wesley glanced at her gently and said, "I will. Wait for me."
Yuna nodded as if she was bewitched. Not until Wesley left the room did she walk into the bathroom.
When she finished the morning wash and went downstairs, she saw Aunt Helen standing in the living room, frowning and looking out.
"Aunt Helen," Yuna asked, "what's wrong?"
Aunt Helen sighed and answered, "Earlier this morning, I called Little Seven to have breakfast, but he said he wanted to wait for you. Now you finally woke up, but he left in a hurry. He didn't have time to eat even a little porridge. If he always skips breakfast, he will get stomach ailments."
Yuna suppressed her worry and comforted Aunt Helen, "He will eat on the way. Don't worry about him."
Aunt Helen nodded, and she suddenly thought of something, asking, "Tomorrow is Emily's birthday, right?"
"Yes," Yuna nodded and said, "Joanne and I are going to hold a party for him. But he doesn't know anything-we want to give him a surprise."
"Well, it's good to leave him a happy memory in the last few days here." Aunt Helen thought for a moment and added, "I will go to the market tomorrow and prepare more delicious food."
After coming here, Aunt Helen would go to the market in the city in person every few days to buy some vegetables and meat.
In her opinion, although the organic vegetables provided by the club were good, she still preferred to pick and cook all by herself. In this way, the dishes would be tastier.
Yuna was accustomed to Aunt Helen's habits. She nodded and said, "I'll ask the driver to take you there tomorrow."
After breakfast, Yuna to find Joanne and happened to run into Freya at the door.
Freya waved her hand to greet Yuna, calling her "Mrs. Hayes".
Yuna was stunned, and she stammered, "Freya, how... how did you... know?"
She just accepted Wesley's proposal yesterday and was called Mrs. Hayes today.
This feeling was a little strange, but more than that, it was happiness.
Freya said smilingly, "As long as your Boss Hayes is happy, he can let everyone know that you're going to marry him!"
Yuna was suddenly curious. When did Wesley become so swanky?
Freya held Yuna's hand and said, "Okay, Mrs. Hayes, let's get in."
Joanne had just fed the two little guys milk. When she saw Yuna and Freya coming in, she smiled and said, "Your timing is just right."
For the rest of the day, the three of them worked hard at planning Wendy and Gavin's wedding.
After dinner, Joanne said, "Yuna, find an excuse to send Emily to Wendy tomorrow. She will take him back in the evening, and then we can begin his birthday party. I have already told Wendy the schedule. What you need to do is keeping it secret from Emily."
Yuna responded, "Emily likes Wendy very much. He will be very willing to stay with her for a day. So I don't need any excuse."
"It's better." Joanne turned off the computer and said, "Okay, that's all for today. You can go home and rest early."
After Yuna and Freya left, Joanne and Martha bathed the two little guys, changed their clothes, and fed them milk. Soon, the babies fell asleep.
Martha looked at the time and asked, "It's past eight o'clock, Mrs. Why hasn't Mr. Lambert come back yet?" Ever since he got married to Joanne, Brian rarely came home after seven o'clock.
"He has something to do and won't come back tonight." Joanne said, "We can go to bed early."
As soon as Joanne finished talking, her cell phone rang.
Martha said with a smile, "It must be Mr. Lambert."
However, beyond expectation, she did not speak out honey immediately as before. It was a strange number. Joanne went out with the phone and then picked it up.
"Hello?" she did not say anything else and waited for the person to speak.
"Joanne, it's me."
A familiar male voice came from the phone. It was a dangerous yet low magnetic voice.
Joanne was astonished. She looked at her phone several times and still found it unbelievable. "...Wesley?"
Wesley replied with a "yes" and then said in a hesitant tone, "Joanne, can you do me a favor?"
"Yes, as long as I can. What do you need me to do?"
Joanne pinched herself to confirm that it was not a dream. Wesley was actually asking her for help!
"I want you to see Yuna."
Wesley didn't continue, but Joanne knew his intention. She asked, "Are you worried about her?"
"A little bit," said Wesley.
"Why?" Joanne was a little surprised. "Yuna has promised to marry you. What are you anxious about?"
Joanne thought Wesley was afraid that Yuna would run away.
She naively reckoned that it must be because Wesley lacked a sense of security.
However, what Wesley said next made her suspect that he didn't act as usual this morning...
