Chapter 874 Be Missing and Be in Trouble (1)

Hearing Joanne's voice, Emily jumped over excitedly. "Sister Wendy, shall we go back now?"

"It's still early." Wendy patiently explained to Emily, "After lunch, Granny Helen will go to buy ingredients. After she finishes it, we will go back with her!"

Emily's eyes darkened. He pursed his lips and compromised. "Okay, then I'll wait a little longer..."

Wendy didn't ignore the little boy's disappointment. She pinched his face and asked, "Do you want to go back now?"

"..." Emily blinked his eyes, and there was still a trace of expectation to go back in his eyes. He didn't deny Wendy's words.

Wendy thought it was funny. She carefully looked at the little boy and asked deliberately, "Emily, who are you missing? Auntie Yuna?"

Emily, who was very honest, fell into the trap and shook his head in denial. "No!"

"Oh-" Wendy drawled. Then she said with certainty, "Then you must be missing the babies."

Emily didn't expect that his thoughts would be seen through. He covered his face with both hands so that Wendy couldn't see his shyness, but he peeked at Wendy through the gap between his fingers. The latter was laughing mischievously.

Wendy rubbed the little boy's head and said, "Don't worry. We'll have lunch and take a nap. Then we'll go back together."

Emily glanced at Gavin. "Will Uncle Gavin go with us?"

Wendy didn't reply, and she deliberately asked, "Do you want Uncle Gavin to go with us?"

Emily thought about it and shook his head decisively. "No!"

Gavin narrowed his eyes. The little boy actually wanted to get rid of him and have Wendy all to himself?

The kid couldn't know that he had ten thousand ways to make the kid pester him for going back with them.

Wendy signaled Gavin to calm down and asked Emily patiently, "Why don't you want Uncle Gavin to go with us?"

Emily looked conflicted and couldn't say a word for a long time. Finally, he fluently explained in English, "Auntie Yuna said that the sick should stay in the hospital and mustn't run around. Do you still remember that Uncle Gavin fainted when he ran around last time?"

He was talking about the last time when Gavin had fainted at the top of the mountain.

Wendy was amused by the little boy's description and said, "So, you said it for the sake of Uncle Gavin?"

Emily pouted and looked as if he didn't want to admit it, but it was true.

Wendy looked at Emily and then at Gavin. She came to a conclusion. "You're both difficult to deal with."

The two people, who were not easy to deal with, did not say anything. The older one turned on the computer and read the documents, while the younger one held Wendy's hand and said, "Sister Wendy, let's continue to play games."

"Okay!"

Wendy and Emily sat on the carpet and continued the unfinished fight just now.

In the blink of an eye, it was noon, and it was time for lunch.

Iris called Gavin and said, "Gavin, I won't send you lunch at noon today. Mrs. Tang and I are playing cards. How about you ask the hotel to send the lunch there?"

Some time ago, someone told Dolly that there was an excellent brain surgeon in Switzerland. Dolly immediately took Gavin's medical record to Switzerland.

In addition, since Joanne was living at the top of the mountain, it was inconvenient for her to prepare meals for them, so Iris was responsible for sending meals to Gavin.

However, Iris was a big fan of mahjong. Gavin could completely understand that Iris would ignore him because of playing mahjong. He smiled and said, "Don't bother. I'll eat in the hospital restaurant."

"Yeah, you can eat wherever you like. I'll send you dinner in the afternoon." Iris's voice was accompanied by the sound of playing mahjong. "Now, I'll play mahjong first."

"Okay."

Gavin hung up the phone and took away the iPad. "Let's go downstairs for lunch."

Wendy was hungry, so she pulled Emily up and said, "Let's go and eat something tasty."

Emily obediently followed Wendy and hopped all the way. The three of them soon arrived at the restaurant.

The hospital restaurant was built according to the star-rating system. Even from the most inconspicuous corner, it didn't look like a hospital restaurant.

The only difference between it and the restaurants of the same rank was that it pursued natural and healthy food.

The waiter served the menu, and Gavin handed it directly to Yuna and Emily.

Emily blinked and said, "Sir, don't you want to order?"

Gavin said, "I'll leave it to you. You can order whatever you want." He could only do this for Emily at most.

If he did more, he was afraid that he would be soft-hearted to this little boy in the future.

Emily replied with an "oh", ordered two dishes, and pushed the menu to Wendy. "Sister Wendy, it's your turn."

"Why don't you order more?" Wendy was confused. "Isn't there anything else you like?"

Emily held his chin with both hands and said, "I am afraid that I may order some dishes that you don't like. If so, I can't finish them alone..."

Wendy had a better impression of Emily. She touched the little boy's head with a smile, ordered a few dishes that she and Gavin both liked, and finally added another dish that Emily liked.

The three of them had a quite good meal.

At the same time, at the top of the mountain, Joanne and Yuna were very busy.

They had to decorate the house according to what they had decided and make it a house for a birthday celebration.

Yuna and Freya were pregnant. Joanne did not dare to let them do anything, so she asked Brian to send a few people to her.

Brian called some staff in the club over. They were young and strong, reliable and efficient.

Then, Joanne was the director, while Yuna and Freya were in charge of the final inspection and confirmation.

The group of people had been busy for the whole afternoon. The originally luxurious and elegant villa gradually became a world full of childishness, decorated with the elements of animations and games that Emily liked.

At the last stage, the staff of the club said, "Mrs. Lambert, leave the rest to us. You can have a rest."

Freya checked the time and reminded Joanne, "We should go back to prepare the cake. It's not early."

Joanne thanked the staff of the club and went back to her villa with Yuna and Freya.

When Aiden and Romy were not born yet, Joanne liked to make small cakes or cookies in the kitchen, and they were much tastier than the food sold in the cake shops.

After the two babies were born, she was so busy that she forgot that she was still good at baking.

However, this did not affect her proficiency.

In the kitchen of the villa-

Joanne took out the baking tools, put on an apron, washed her hands, and began to make the cake.

She was swift, and soon the cake was ready.

Freya looked at the plain cake and eagerly said, "Joanne, I want to try decorating the cake, which can be regarded as my contribution to the cake."

"Okay." Joanne took out the tools and said, "Go wash your hands first."

Freya came back after washing up and took the tools. She was surprised and said, "Tut-tut, Joanne, I didn't expect you to be so confident in me. In fact, I don't even have much confidence in myself..."

"You... think too much," Joanne said. "I just feel that no matter how terrible your decoration will be, I can remedy it."

"..." Freya was so angry that she wanted to eat the cake.

Joanne smiled and said, "Let me teach you. If we cooperate, the final product... should not be too bad."

Yuna watched them on the side and suddenly remembered something. She said, "Freya, you can ask Joanne that question now."

In the morning, Freya had said that in the eyes of women, the most perfect man would always be someone else's husband.

Yuna felt that Joanne might not think so, so she threw this question to Joanne. "What do you think?"

Joanne compressed her lips and blurted out without thinking, "My husband is the best!" She looked like a top fan of Brian.

Only then did Freya remember that Joanne had been obsessed with Brian since she was ten. In her eyes, no one in the world could be better than Brian!

Freya chose to change the topic. "Hey, how should I use the tool?"

Joanne asked Yuna, "Do you want to help?"

"Okay."

Yuna had nothing to do, so she simply joined them.

Joanne took out a spare apron and put it on Yuna, and then she instructed Freya and Yuna to decorate the cake.

The three of them were busy with it for a few hours. After Joanne improved it several times, the cake was finally ready.

Joanne took off her apron and placed the cake in the refrigerator, saying, "I wonder if Aunt Helen has prepared the food."

"I'll go back to have a look."

Yuna didn't have time to wash her hands, and she went back to the villa next door. Seeing her, the staff of the club said politely, "Miss Xu, everything is ready. Would you like to have a look?"

"No, I believe you. Thank you for your hard work." Yuna looked around the kitchen and didn't find Aunt Helen. Then she asked, "Did you see Aunt Helen come back?"

"Aunt Helen?" The staff shook their heads and said, "No."

Yuna roughly calculated the time. It had been four or five hours since Aunt Helen left the top of the mountain. Even if Aunt Helen bought half of the market, it was time for her to come back.

Could it be that something unexpected has happened?

Yuna touched her pocket and remembered that she had left her phone in Joanne's house. She ran over, picked up her phone, and dialed Aunt Helen's number.

There was no answer.

Aunt Helen had always answered the phone.

Yuna panicked and ran into the kitchen with her phone. "Joanne, where is Wesley?"

"Wesley and Brian are talking about matters in the club." Joanne noticed that something was wrong with Yuna, so she couldn't help asking, "What's wrong?"

"Aunt Helen hasn't come back yet, and she is not answering the phone either." Yuna's heart beat fast and uneasily. "I'm afraid something has happened to her..."

"Don't panic." Joanne dried her hands and took out her mobile phone from her pocket. "I'll call Wendy. Maybe she and Aunt Helen are on their way here."

Just as Joanne was about to dial, her phone rang. It was a call from Wendy.

She was startled, and her heart also suddenly beat fast. An ominous feeling spread from the bottom of her heart...

If Wendy and Aunt Helen were on their way here, why would Wendy call her?

However, if Wendy and Aunt Helen hadn't come back now...

Joanne stopped herself from thinking further-

She would rather be disturbed by Wendy, who was so bored on the road.
