Chapter 878 Emily Knows the Truth (1)

Joanne asked someone to send the cake over.

A twelve-inch cake, which was placed on an exquisite dining cart, was pushed over by the staff of the club.

The staff lit the candles and Freya pressed a button on the remote control. In the flickering candlelight, the catchy song of Happy Birthday resounded through the small villa, bringing them joy and relieving the stress and pressure in the air.

Two staff members lifted the cake and placed it on the coffee table. Emily immediately ran over to watch.

Freya and Yuna were not skillful enough at decorating cakes, so it didn't look very exquisite.

However, that was enough for Emily.

For the first time in a few years, someone remembered his birthday and wanted to celebrate it.

The cake made by Joanne personally was the first birthday cake in his life.

The little boy's happiness was obvious on his face. He turned to look at the adults. "Auntie Yuna, thank you."

Yuna touched the little boy's head and said, "Blow out the candles."

Emily's eyes sparkled with expectations. "Can I make a wish before I blow out the candles? Well, I saw the children in the cartoons do this on their birthdays!"

"Sure." Yuna said, "You can make three wishes."

"Wow!" Emily exclaimed.

His eyes were immediately filled with surprise. It seemed that he was so lucky to make three wishes.

He folded his hands and pressed them against his chin, and then began to make wishes.

"The first wish, I hope that Auntie Joanne's babies can grow up very happily! Ah, as well as Auntie Yuna's babies and Auntie Freya's babies."

"The second wish, I hope that all my aunties and Sister Wendy can celebrate my birthday every year!"

"The third wish, I hope that..."

Emily's voice suddenly disappeared. His small lips were moving, and his expression was filled with piety that did not match his age.

No one knew his last wish.

After making the wish, Emily put down his hands and said, "Auntie Yuna, blow out the candles with me."

The little boy's clear and bright eyes were shining with the flickering candlelight, which made people reluctant to refuse his request.

Yuna nodded. "OK."

Emily took a deep breath, and his little cheeks bulged. Then, with a powerful expiration, he blew out all the candles.

Joanne pulled out the candles and handed a plastic cake knife to Emily. "You can cut the cake now."

Emily made a token cut into the cake and left the rest of the cutting to Joanne. After all, he didn't know how to cut the cake into pieces.

Joanne was good at it. She quickly cut the cake into several pieces and placed each of them on one plate. She first handed the largest piece to Emily and said, "Have a taste."

"Thank you, Auntie Joanne."

Emily took the plate and picked up a piece of cake with an exquisite small fork. When he was about to put it to his lips, he suddenly thought of something.

He put down the cake and blinked in confusion, asking, "Where's Granny Helen?" Then he turned to look at Wendy. "Sister Wendy, didn't you say that Granny Helen was back? Why didn't she come out to celebrate with us?"

"..."

It was such a sudden question that the adults didn't know how to answer it.

Emily tilted his head and ran to the kitchen. "Granny Helen!"

Seeing that Aunt Helen was not in the kitchen, Emily ran upstairs and opened the door. "Granny Helen?"

The room was dark and empty. Aunt Helen was still not there.

Emily was puzzled and said, "Hmm?" Then he turned around and ran downstairs. He tugged at the hem of Yuna's clothes and asked, "Auntie Yuna, where is Granny Helen?"

"Granny Helen..." Yuna's voice suddenly stopped. She didn't know what to say next.

Emily blinked and looked at the others, only to find that they looked as vexed as Yuna.

He thought for a while and slowly realized something. He loosened his grip on Yuna's hand, and with his eyes darkening little by little, he slowly lowered his head.

Yuna held the little boy's hand. "Emily."

Emily didn't respond. Tears flowed out of his eyes and fell on the carpet continuously.

Yuna held the little boy's shoulder with one hand and touched his face with the other. "Emily, you..."

Emily raised his head and stared at Yuna with tears in his eyes. He interrupted, "My daddy took Granny Helen away, didn't he? Mr. Mu is against... my daddy, right?"

"..."

After Emily blurted out the truth, the living room was shrouded in complete silence.

Although Emily was young, he knew that such silence represented a tacit consent.

He wiped his eyes and asked, "Auntie Yuna, what does my daddy want?"

Joanne was very surprised. Emily was only four years old, but he actually knew that Rowdy kidnapped Aunt Helen for a certain purpose!?

Should she say that the child was intelligent, or be sorry that the environment deprived him of the innocence that children should have?

Seeing that the adults did not reply, Emily continued, "You're going to send me back, so Daddy wants Auntie Yuna to go back, right?"

"Emily." Joanne squatted down and wiped away the little boy's tears. "Anyway, we won't hurt you. So, don't be afraid."

Emily pouted and said, "But I don't want Auntie Yuna to go back."

Joanne was even more surprised. She blurted out, "Why?"

Everyone could see that Emily was heavily dependent on Yuna.

Once Emily went back, he would be separated from Yuna forever.

But he actually said that he didn't want Yuna to go back.

Didn't he want Yuna to accompany him to grow up?

Emily burst into tears. "Because Auntie Yuna has a baby. Mr. Mu is the baby's father. I don't want the baby to be separated from his father."

He had been forced to be separated from Rowdy since he was very young. No child knew better than him the feeling of loneliness.

He didn't want Auntie Yuna's baby to leave her father and stay lonely like him.

After that, Emily cried louder and louder. He sobbed sadly and could not even utter a complete sentence.

In fact, he didn't want to be separated from Yuna.

But now, his daddy had taken Granny Helen away. If he wanted to save her and let Uncle Hayes accompany the baby to grow up, he had to be separated from Auntie Yuna.

He couldn't describe how sad he was now, and he was even sadder than when he was forced to leave his daddy.

Joanne saw Emily crying so hard, and her heart softened instantly. She touched Emily's head and said, "Don't cry, we will solve this problem."

Emily shook his head and looked at Yuna, asking, "Auntie Yuna, ask Uncle Hayes to send me back. I can ask Dad to send Granny Helen back."

Yuna said, "Mr. Mu and Mr. Lambert have plans. Let's listen to them, okay?"

Emily nodded. "Okay."

Wendy watched it, and her eyes turned red at some point. She picked up Emily's cake and handed it to him. "Emily, are you hungry? Eat something first."

They were all adults, so they could eat nothing for the time being. However, Emily was a child, and he was shooting up, so he could not eat nothing.

Emily touched the cream with his finger, tasted it and forced a bright smile. "It's tasty!"

"Then eat much!" Wendy picked up another piece of cake and said, "I'll eat with you."

"I'm also a little hungry." Freya sat over and said, "Let's eat together."

Emily nodded, and the tears on his long eyelashes suddenly dripped down. He hurriedly lowered his head and took a bite of the cake, not letting the adults see his tears.

Freya and Wendy accompanied Emily while Joanne and Yuna back to the villa next door.

The sky was already dark, and in the lights, the two slim figures cast long shadows. The cold wind was whistling, but it sounded somewhat bleak.

Joanne suddenly said, "Yuna, you don't have to worry that Emily will be used by Rowdy after he returns. This child is more intelligent and sensible than we thought. I believe that he can distinguish good from evil."

"Emily is only four years old." Yuna smiled bitterly and added, "It is not a fortune but a misfortune for him to distinguish good from evil at his age."

Joanne said with a sigh, "But, there's nothing we can do. Yuna, he's Rowdy's son."

Born as Rowdy's son, Emily was destined to bear something beyond his age.

Not long after they returned to the villa, Chris also came back.

After Freya was pregnant, Chris was much calmer than before, and his every move revealed his current happiness and satisfaction.

But today, he seemed to be in a hurry.

Chris went straight to Joanne. "Brian called me and asked me to come back early, saying that Aunt Iris had an accident. Joanne, what happened?"

Yuna felt that she should be the one to explain this accident.

She stood up and said, "Rowdy kidnapped Aunt Helen and Aunt Iris in order to force Wesley to send me and Emily back." She paused for a second and then continued, "Brother Chris, I'm sorry."

When Yuna's grandmother was young, she had taken care of Chris for some time.

Later, every time Chris went to Glasgow, he would definitely visit Granny Wallace. Over time, he became familiar with Yuna and cared about her as if she were his biological sister.

However, Yuna had hidden countless things from Chris, which not only almost caused Joanne to divorce Brian, but led to Aunt Iris's being kidnapped.

Chris looked at Yuna with a gentle look. "Yuna, it's not your fault. But remember to discuss it with us if you encounter any trouble in the future. Don't bear everything alone."

Just like when Yuna decided to follow Rowdy, if she discussed it with him, he would never agree, and nothing would happen today.

Yuna didn't expect that Chris would still care about her in such a situation. She nodded, and her heart was filled with bitterness.

"Also, you can't go back to Rowdy." Chris's tone was unprecedentedly strong. "You are pregnant. Once you go back, Rowdy will not allow this child to live, and you will also be in danger. Do you understand?"

Yuna nodded. "I see. Brother Chris, I'll listen to you."

"Brother." Joanne ran to Chris and asked, "Did Brian tell you anything else?"

Joanne was very worried about Brian, but she did not dare to call him, for fear of disturbing him.

She could only get some information from the ones who had been in contact with Brian.

"Brian told me to come back early and take good care of you," said Chris. "In addition, he specifically told you not to think too much but to wait for him to come back."
