Chapter 894 I was Disappointed with You

As soon as Emily came out of the room, he saw Rowdy pushing Iris away.

Iris was too old to stand up to Rowdy. She lost balance and fell to the flowerbed that had only dry soil.

"Granny Iris!" Emily ran over and helped Iris up, asking, "does it hurt? Are you injured?"

Iris stood up unhurriedly, patted the dust off her body, and answered Emily with a smile, "I'm fine."

Emily looked at Rowdy and did not cry as usual. Instead, he said in an unexpectedly calm voice, "Daddy, I'm very disappointed with you."

He talked in English.

Rowdy responded, "Emily, don't you know who is our enemy and who is our friend?"

"Are Granny Helen and Granny Iris your enemies?" Emily shouted, "they have nothing to do with you!"

Rowdy knew that Emily meant that Aunt Helen and Iris were innocent.

He walked over to Emily and stared at the little boy coldly, asking, "Who taught you this?"

"It was Uncle Hayes!" Emily tried hard to recall what Wesley had said, "he told me that I had nothing to do with the issue between you and him, so he wouldn't hurt me. Daddy, why aren't you like Uncle Hayes? Why do you hurt Granny Helen and Granny Iris?"

Rowdy sneered and said, "Listen, I can be like Wesley, but my enemies won't. Even if I let them go, they will never let me go, and you will be the first person around me to be hurt. I did this not only for me but also for you."

Emily shook his head and said, "Daddy, I still can't understand you."

Instead of continuing talking with Rowdy, he helped Iris back to the room.

Rowdy looked at Emily's back and said nothing in the end.

At this time, Milo came out of the room and said, "Brother Rowdy, Mrs. Helen seems to be in bad condition. What should we do?"

Rowdy ordered, "You stay here with Uncle Nelson. If anything happens to Mrs. Helen, you can take her to the hospital."

Milo reminded him, "If so, Wesley will find us."

"It doesn't matter," Rowdy said, "if Mrs. Helen really needs to see a doctor, she will be trouble. It will be better to leave this trouble to Wesley."

Milo nodded and said, "I see."

After Rowdy left, Milo returned to the room.

Uncle Nelson gave Aunt Helen an intravenous drip. The medicine was injected into the old lady's veins through the IV infusion tube.

Emily stood by the bed. His tears fell again when he saw the blood on Aunt Helen's head.

Iris remembered that the little guy had not eaten yet, so she said softly, "Emily, why don't you eat something first. You are still young. You can't be hungry."

Emily shook his head and was not willing to leave Aunt Helen at all.

Iris had to say, "Don't worry, I will accompany Granny Helen."

Suddenly, more tears rolled down Emily's face. He leaned against the bed and cried loudly.

This made Iris at a loss. She stroked his back and asked, "Emily, what's wrong?"

"It's all my fault..." Emily's voice was slowly filled with remorse, "Granny Helen got hurt and fainted because of me. It's my mistake..."

Only then did Iris realize that the little guy had been forbearing from crying and never stopped blaming himself.

Iris sighed and comforted him, "Both Granny Helen and I know that you didn't do it on purpose, and Granny Helen won't blame you. Don't cry, okay?"

"Ahem... ahem..." Emily cried so badly that he couldn't help coughing. He sobbed and couldn't utter a complete sentence.

Iris had no choice but to let him cry until he stopped.

Iris waited for half an hour.

When Emily was willing to raise his head, both his eyes and nose were red, with tears welling up in his eyes. He kept sobbing, and snot bubbles kept coming out of his nose.

Iris took a tissue and wiped Emily's tears and snot. She said, "With the doctor here, Granny Helen will be fine. By the way, do you know what Granny Helen wants you to do now?"

"Wha-" Emily choked with sobs, "wha-what?"

Iris said seriously, "She hopes you can eat well. Don't be hungry."

"Granny Iris," Emily rubbed her eyes and said, "other than knowing my mommy's thoughts, you also know what Granny Helen is thinking. Why are you so cool?"

"I'm the babies' grandmother, so I can understand Granny Helen," Iris said, "if you don't eat, you will feel very uncomfortable. Granny Helen loves you so much. If you're not comfortable, she will also feel bad."

"All right," Emily finally compromised, "I'll eat."

Milo immediately asked someone to bring food. Iris accompanied the little guy to finish them.

At about ten o'clock, Aunt Helen finally finished her IV drip. Emily was the first person to ask the doctor, "Uncle Nelson, when will Granny Helen wake up?"

"Maybe tomorrow," Uncle Nelson answered, "when you wake up tomorrow morning, Granny Helen will be awake."

Emily immediately climbed onto the bed and said, "I want to sleep with Granny Helen here!"

Milo knew that this time, even Iris could not stop Emily. So he had to ask someone to install the heating equipment. Soon, the old house was surrounded by warm air, which made it much more comfortable.

Emily lay on his side and looked at Aunt Helen. He was unwilling to close his eyes.

Iris poured a half cup of warm water. She then took a cotton swab, dipped it in the water, and moistened Aunt Helen's lips little by little. This also helped Aunt Helen have some water.

When she wet the swab, Iris looked at Emily and said, "Go to sleep. I will take care of Granny Helen."

Emily agreed and got into bed. He hugged Aunt Helen's arm and soon fell asleep.

After feeding Aunt Helen a half cup of water with cotton swabs, Iris also lay down. But she couldn't sleep well all night. From time to time, she would get up to check Aunt Helen's condition.

Fortunately, Aunt Helen did not have any abnormalities all night, and the bleeding also stopped.

At dawn, Iris finally fell asleep.

She didn't know how long she had slept. But when a brand new day came, she was awakened by Emily.

"Granny Iris, Granny Iris!" Emily's immature voice was full of anxiety, "wake up, Granny Helen has a fever!"

Iris suddenly opened her eyes and asked, "What's wrong with Granny Helen?"

Emily said with red eyes, "Granny Helen has a fever!"

Iris touched Aunt Helen's forehead and found her body temperature was extremely high. She subconsciously called her, "Aunt Helen, Aunt Helen?"

"..." Aunt Helen did not react at all.

"Granny Iris," Emily cried so hard yesterday that his eyes were already swollen. But he couldn't help shedding tears now. "What's wrong with Granny Helen? I'm already awake. Why hasn't Granny Helen woken up yet?"

"Don't be afraid," Iris hurriedly put on her shoes and said, "I'll call the doctor."

Uncle Nelson and Milo slept in the next room. Iris directly pushed the door open, woke Uncle Nelson up, and asked him to see Aunt Helen.

In the end, Iris looked at Milo and said, "Ask Rowdy to come over."

Milo didn't care much about Iris's words. He slowly put on his shoes and coat, saying, "It's too early. Don't disturb Brother Rowdy. I'll go to see what's going on first."

"Who do you think you are!" Iris was angry. She glared at Milo coldly and said, "Aunt Helen has been in a coma for a whole night, and now she has a fever. She is already an old woman in her fifties and may have serious problems at any time. If it's really beyond redemption, can you take the responsibility?"

"..."

Only then did Milo realize that the old lady of the Lu family could not be underestimated. No wonder she had not shown any fear since she was captured.

Milo said, "I'm going to call Brother Rowdy now."

After Milo left, Iris hurried back to the room and asked Uncle Nelson, "How is Aunt Helen?"

"She is in bad condition," Uncle Nelson said, "you'd better discuss with Rowdy whether to send the old lady to the hospital."

Rowdy arrived soon. Iris said to Uncle Nelson, "Tell Rowdy about Aunt Helen's condition!"

Aunt Helen's situation was really not optimistic, so Uncle Nelson had to tell Rowdy the truth.

Iris added, "Rowdy, you should send Aunt Helen to the hospital this time, right? If something really happens to her, Wesley will not let you go."

"Daddy," Emily grabbed Rowdy's cuff with red eyes and said, "please, let Granny Helen see the doctor, okay?"

Seeing Emily was about to cry again, Rowdy gave Milo a look and said, "Send the old lady to the hospital."

Milo asked someone to prepare the car, picked up Aunt Helenm, and went out. Iris wanted to go with him subconsciously.

Rowdy blocked Iris and said, "You stay here and follow my arrangement. Once I find you want to do something, Mrs. Helen will die before she gets to the hospital, I promise."

"Granny Iris, don't worry," Emily said, "I will take care of Granny Helen."

Emily quickly ran out and followed Milo to the car.

The driver asked, "Milo, which hospital shall we go to?"

"It looks really serious," Milo said, "let's go to the Eighth Hospital. Emily, sit well. We're going to drive."

Emily acted as if he couldn't hear Milo's words. He took a blanket and covered it on Aunt Helen. He squatted down beside Aunt Helen and kept saying, "Granny Helen, don't be afraid. We'll see a doctor soon. You'll be fine."

In less than 30 minutes, they arrived at the parking lot of the emergency department of the Eighth Hospital. The doctors and nurses sent Aunt Helen directly to the operating room.

Emily was stopped at the door of the operating room. He waited in front of the door without saying a word.

Thirty minutes later, the attending doctor came out and said, "The patient needs to have a minor operation. Relatives, please pay the money and come back to sign the document."

"..." Relatives?

Not knowing what to do, Milo did not respond.

The doctor frowned and asked, "Who are her relatives?"

"Doctor, she is my granny," Emily said, "I can sign!"

"You're not an adult yet," the doctor said, "where are your parents?"

Emily shook his head and answered, "I have no mother, and my dad won't come either." He took the document from the doctor and signed his English name in the lower right corner. "Doctor, can you wake my granny up?"

"The old lady's injury has dragged on for a long time, and it has become severe," the doctor touched Emily's head and said, "but I will wake her up."

Emily's eyes reddened again. But this time, he didn't cry. He just nodded hard and said, "Doctor, please!"
