Chapter 907 Wesley Is Crazy

Gavin was angry not because of Rowdy's brutal behaviors, but because Wesley actually wanted to take risks.

He threw the phone back to Wesley and tried to say in a calm voice, "I understand how you feel now, but have you ever thought about it? If we trade you for Aunt Iris, we will lose more."

For Rowdy, Iris could be used as only a bargaining chip. He would not really kill Iris, because Iris could be exchanged for what he wanted.

However, Wesley was different.

His existence was a huge obstacle for Rowdy.

Rowdy tried every means to return to Arlington, because he wanted to restore the status of the Kang's family, regain some off-the-books income, and make the Kang's family glorious again. But unfortunately, Brian and Wesley were in his way.

If Wesley disappeared from the world, one of the obstacles would be gone.

According to Rowdy's way of doing things, he would definitely choose the status of the Kang's family instead of Yuna.

In other words, after Wesley offered to be the hostage, Rowdy was very likely not to persist in getting Yuna back. Instead, he would agree Wesley's request to be his hostage.

It could indeed get Iris out of danger.

However, Wesley would die.

Rowdy was such a cruel man. Once he took control of Wesley, he would not give Wesley any chance to resist. He would definitely kill Wesley immediately to avoid any future troubles.

Thus, it was impossible for Wesley to come back.

Gavin believed that Wesley knew it, but Wesley still offered to trade himself for Iris. He even reminded Rowdy that Rowdy could kill him immediately.

It would be weird if Rowdy was not tempted!

Gavin was so angry that his temples were bulging. He roared, "Wesley, have you got rocks in your head?"

Wesley looked calm and said, "I have a plan."

"A death plan?!" Gavin said angrily, "as soon as you arrive, in order to remove you to avoid any future troubles, Rowdy will shoot you right away. No matter how perfect your escape plan is, there will be no chance to carry it out!"

Yes, Wesley indeed planned to find an opportunity to escape after he got Iris back.

He knew that it was very risky, and he would probably even die.

However, after seeing those photos of Iris, he could no longer calmly consider the possibility of escaping.

Wesley said, "We haven't tried it yet. Isn't it too early for you to conclude that I can't escape?"

Gavin pressed hard on his temples, trying to suppress his anger. Otherwise, he was afraid that he would explode.

But in the end, Gavin failed and roared out of control, "Wesley, you'll die if you try it! If Yuna knows about it, she will be very disappointed in you."

"..." The light in Wesley's eyes dimmed, and complicated emotions showed up in his eyes. He fell into silence.

Gavin knew that he had stepped on Wesley's weak point. He continued, "Yuna is pregnant, but you are going to risk your life. Wesley, do you think Yuna will collapse if anything happens to you? Even if Yuna can hold on, what about your child?"

After a pause, Gavin lowered his voice. "Wesley, among us, I know best what it feels like to have no father. It means a very lonely childhood. Don't let your child suffer the feelings of being alone and helpless. It's too miserable."

Wesley glanced at Gavin and asked, "Does Wendy know that you came here to work?"

Gavin did not tell Wendy about it at all, nor did he dare to.

Yes, just like Wesley, he was doing something harmful to himself and hiding it from the person he loved the most.

What was different was that if something happened to him, he could go back to the hospital at any time. But if something happened to Wesley, he would never come back.

Gavin snorted and said, "Wesley, We're in totally different situations. You just deliberately mentioned Wendy!"

Wesley said, "I mean, you should go back. Brian and I will deal with the things here. You go back to the hospital."

"Why did you ask me to leave?" Gavin said, "I can still help you here."

"We can't afford to offend Wendy." Wesley said, "You'd better go back."

"You don't dare to offend Wendy?" Gavin stared at Wesley and smiled meaningfully, "so, I should let Wendy deal with you in the future?"

Wesley did not answer, and walked toward the elevator. Gavin had no choice but to keep up with him.

The elevator soon went down to the top floor, but Wesley did not step out. He just said to Gavin, "Tell Brian that I'm leaving and we can meet in the afternoon."

When Gavin returned to the office, Brian soon noticed that he came back alone, so he asked, "Where's Wesley?"

"Well..." Gavin did not know whether to tell Brian what had just happened.

Brian had already seen some clues from Gavin's look. He closed the file and looked at Gavin, "Tell me what happened."

Gavin pondered for a moment and said seriously, "Wesley is crazy."

Then, Gavin told Brian all about the call between Wesley and Rowdy.

Brian lowered his eyes and did not speak.

He knew Wesley well. Wesley never wanted the people around him to get hurt because of him.

Therefore, when there was an emergency, even if he had to take risks, he would not give up any of his subordinates.

Brian was not surprised at all that Wesley was stimulated by those photos.

Brian did not say anything, but asked Joanne to tell Yuna about it after going back.

Joanne thought for a moment and soon understood Brian's intention. She smiled and nodded, "don't worry. I'm the best person for the job!"

Brian smiled, opened the file and continued to read it.

He loved Joanne more and more, not only because Joanne became more and more charming, but also because he never needed to explain in detail and Joanne could completely understand his intentions.

There would be no second person in the world who had such a tacit understanding with him.

However, Gavin was really unaware of Brian's intention. He looked at Brian in confusion and asked, "Why do you want to tell Yuna? Aren't you afraid of stimulating her?"

"Well, it's actually very simple," Joanne said, "for example, I want you to go back to the hospital, but if you are unwilling, I can only contact Wendy."

Gavin immediately understood and replied, "Oh~"

After less than two seconds, Gavin made a gesture of surrender while saying, "Oh! I'll go back right away, okay?"

If Wendy knew that he had sneaked into the company, she would definitely watch over him like a surveillance camera in the next few days, without letting him be out of her sight.

To avoid it, Gavin chose to go back to the hospital.

Since Brian no longer needed his help, there was no point in being a third wheel in the office.

Not long after Gavin left, Brian also got off work and left with Joanne.

Winston had already stopped the car at the entrance of the company building. Brian opened the door and motioned for Joanne to get in.

After sitting down, Joanne found that Brian did not get in the car. She looked at him confusedly and asked, "Why don't you get in?"

"I still have something to do, and I need to go somewhere with Wesley," Brian said, "Winston will send you back first."

"Okay," Joanne compressed her lips, "will you go back tonight?"

"About 10 o'clock," Brian said, "if I can't go back on time, I will call you."

"Okay," Joanne waved at Brian, "see you tonight."

"See you tonight."

Brian closed the door for Joanne, and got in another car to meet Wesley until her car disappeared from his sight.

Joanne was worried about the two little kids. She wished that the car could have two wings and fly back to the top of the mountain right away.

Actually, it was a one-and-a-half-hour drive.

An hour and a half later, the car returned to the top of the mountain. Joanne ran back as soon as she got off the car.

When she rushed in, several ones including Freya were staying with the two kids in the living room. Romy was amused and laughing, while Aiden was yawning lazily in Yuna's arms.

Freya noticed Joanne first, and she tapped on Romy's face and motioned for her to look at Joanne, "Romy, look! Who's back?"

As soon as Joanne washed her hands, she came to pick up her daughter.

Romy blinked her eyes and stared at Joanne for a moment. Suddenly, she pursed her lips and buried her face in Joanne's arms, crying loudly. Her voice was full of grievance, which made people feel extremely sorry for her.

"Good girl, don't cry," Joanne coaxed the little girl, "mom is back."

"Poor little girl," Wendy walked over, touched Romy's face, and then turned to ask Joanne, "cousin, isn't my cousin-in-law back?"

"Brian and Wesley still have something to deal with," Joanne looked at Yuna and said, "youning, Wesley may come back around 10 o'clock in the evening."

"I know," Yuna nodded and added, "Wesley called me."

Joanne hesitated for a moment and finally asked, "Did Wesley tell you anything else?"

"No, he just said that he would come back late today," Yuna noticed that something was wrong and looked at Joanne suspiciously, "Joanne, what else should Wesley tell me?"

Joanne thought that she should tell Yuna the truth.

Neither Brian nor her wanted Wesley to take risks, even if Wesley just had that thought in his mind now.

However, Wesley might not listen to them.

But Yuna's advice would work.

Joanne handed Romy to Wendy and kissed the little girl on her face, "Good girl, don't cry. Mom will be back soon."

Romy replied with a "hmm", lay in Wendy's arms, and looked at Joanne obediently.

Joanne took Yuna out and told her everything. In the end, she added, "Yuna, please persuade Wesley. Whether it's for himself or for you and your child, he can't take risks."

"..." Yuna did not speak for a moment.

For now, no one expected such a subtle thing to eventually become the cause of what would happen.
