Chapter 908 Yuna, Drop Your Idea (1)

For a long time, Yuna did not speak. She just lowered her eyes, and no one knew what she was thinking about.

Joanne was a little worried and asked, "Yuna, are you all right?"

If Yuna was angry, Joanne could understand.

After all, Wesley was going to take risks when Yuna was pregnant, and even his life would be in danger.

If anything happened to Wesley, Yuna and the unborn baby would have no one to count on.

It was too cruel for the baby.

"Yuna." Joanne said, "Brian and I won't allow Wesley to do it. But Brian and I can't stop him, so I think I should tell you about it, for you're the only one who can convince him."

Only then did Yuna look up at Joanne, and there seemed to be nothing wrong with her look, "I know, Joanne, thank you."

Joanne shook her head, indicating that Yuna did not need to be so polite. She said, "It's cold outside. We'd better not stay in a draught here. Let's go back."

"Wait a minute." Yuna grabbed Joanne, "Joanne, I want to ask you a question."

"Huh?" Joanne was a little curious, "what is it?"

"Why did Wesley suddenly mention trading himself for Aunt Iris?" Yuna gradually looked uneasy, "did something bad happen?"

Joanne subconsciously denied it, "No." After a pause, in order to make her reply more persuasive, she continued, "in the past few days, Wesley has been investigating how Rowdy transferred my mother-in-law, but there is no progress. Wesley may be... a little restless."

"Joanne, in fact, I know you quite well," Yuna said, "if everything is okay, you will not say so much."

"..." Joanne was speechless.

Seeing that Joanne was in a dilemma, Yuna could not bear to ask further. She held her hand and said, "Let's go back first. I'll ask Wesley when he comes back."

Joanne secretly breathed a sigh of relief and returned to the living room with Yuna.

In the living room, Wendy was holding Romy in her arms and saying to the little girl, "Romy, do you think I should eat here with your mother or go back to eat with Uncle Gavin?"

"..." Of course, Romy could not understand Wendy's words, but Wendy asked so seriously that the little girl was completely attracted by her and stared at her with her black eyes.

Wendy continued, "The food here is very tasty. Let's abandon Uncle Gavin, okay?"

Romy kicked her leg and screamed loudly, "Ah!"

Wendy looked puzzled and asked, "Romy, do you agree or not?"

"Romy agreed," Joanne walked over and asked Wendy, "did Gavin ask someone to send you here? Or did the club send someone to take you here?"

Wendy tilted her head and replied, "Gavin asked someone to send me here."

"Then I don't have to make arrangements," Joanne held Romy from Wendy's arms and said to her, "you can go back now."

"Cousin," Wendy looked frustrated, "are you driving me away?"

Joanne poked her forehead and said, "Don't blame me. It's obvious that you want to go back."

"Eh?" Wendy looked very curious, "Cousin, how did you know?"

"I know you too well. If you were really going to abandon Gavin, how could you ask for Romy's opinion?" Joanne suddenly exposed Wendy, "you would only come to ask me what we'll eat for dinner."

"..."

At this moment, Wendy deeply felt that it was not a good thing that someone knew you too well.

When you did not even know what you were thinking, you had already put yourself in an awkward position in front of her.

Seeing Wendy about to cry, Joanne smiled and said, "Well, I'll drive you to the parking lot."

Wendy could only go to the parking lot with Joanne.

On the way, Wendy suddenly remembered one thing and said, "Cousin, let's put my wedding aside for the time being. The most important thing now is to rescue Aunt Iris."

Joanne had already told Gavin that.

She felt a little guilty, but she still pretended to look serious, "I don't have time to care about your wedding with Gavin these days."

While talking, they arrived at the parking lot. Seeing Wendy, the bodyguards opened the door in advance and waited for her.

Wendy turned around and hugged Joanne, "Cousin, thanks for your hard work."

Joanne smiled and also hugged Wendy, "Well, go back. You should be able to eat with Gavin in time."

"Okay," Wendy waved at Joanne, "cousin, see you soon."

"See you soon."

Joanne stood in situ and watched Wendy's car until it disappeared from her sight. Then she turned back to her house.

The two little kids were very well-behaved, and Joanne was happy that she did not have to coax them. She said, "I'll cook dinner."

When encountering something tricky, Joanne liked to stay in the kitchen. By cutting, washing and cooking, she could slowly calm down.

However, in the end, it turned out that Joanne had overestimated the charm of the kitchen.

While cutting, she thought of the photo of Iris's bloody arms, and she was distracted. Then she got her finger cut, and blood quickly gushed out of the wound.

"Ah!" Joanne exclaimed subconsciously and pressed the wound.

Hearing the exclamation, Freya ran into the kitchen and sharply found that Joanne was injured. She got a band-aid from the first aid kit and bandaged Joanne's finger. Then she asked, "Joanne, did something happen?"

Joanne was stunned, "Why do you ask that?"

"You used to hold scalpels," Freya said, "you have never made such a mistake in so many years of cooking. What on earth happened?"

In the face of Freya, Joanne did not need to hide anything. She told Freya everything about Iris's injury, including the fact that Wesley was going to take risks.

"Beast," Freya gritted her teeth, "how could Rowdy treat Aunt Iris like this? From the beginning to the end, the whole thing had nothing to do with Aunt Iris."

"But Rowdy doesn't think so," Joanne pressed the wound on her finger and said, "you and Gavin are right. Rowdy is not a human at all."

"How's your finger?" Freya said, "how about you stop cooking? We can eat at the clubhouse."

Joanne shook her head and said, "If I give up halfway, Yuna will definitely notice something wrong. Wesley will probably not intend to tell her about the photos, and we should not let her find anything wrong."

"All right," Freya could only listen to Joanne, "be careful."

Joanne nodded and pulled herself together. After an hour, the dinner was finally ready.

Chris happened to come back. After the meal, Joanne urged him to take Freya back to rest. She also urged Yuna to go back, on the grounds that pregnant women should rest early and well.

Freya was still worried, "Joanne, can you stay at home alone? Do you want us to stay with you until Brian comes back?"

"Brian won't be back until 10 o'clock, or even later," Joanne said, "you just go back now and rest early. After I help Aiden and Romy take a shower, Brian should be back."

Freya knew that it was useless to say more, so she left with Chris. Yuna also went out with them.

Joanne went upstairs and entered the children's room. She picked up Aiden and said, "Your uncle and Auntie Yuna back. Mom will bath you and your sister."

Aiden yawned and rubbed his eyes with his little hand. He seemed to be already sleepy.

"Good boy, you can sleep after taking a shower."

Joanne went into the bathroom with Aiden in her arms, and Martha followed in to help.

The bathroom was adequately heated. Joanne helped the little boy take off his clothes and put him in the warm water while holding him.

Aiden seemed to be energetic all of a sudden. He jumped in the water and hummed. There was a rare look of excitement on his face.

Joanne could not help smiling.

She finally found that Aiden liked water. Every time he touched water, he was particularly excited.

Or maybe this little boy had mysophobia and liked bathing.

On this point, he was similar to Brian.

Martha was afraid that the little boy would catch a cold, so she quickly finished bathing Aiden, "Okay, pick him up."

Joanne lifted the little boy up from the water, and Aiden immediately hummed to protest. He looked unhappy and was not willing to get up from the water at all.

Joanne had ways to deal with him and quickly helped him put on the clothes.

Aiden accepted the fact of leaving water so easily and soon quieted down. After drinking the milk, he fell asleep in Joanne's arms.

Joanne handed Aiden to Simon and then went to hold Romy in her arms.

Romy was totally different from her brother. As soon as she was put in the water, she cried. She had been grabbing Joanne's clothes tightly and seemed to be uneasy.

Iris said that it was because the little girl was afraid of water and needed to get used to it.

After bathing so many times, Romy still could not get used to the water, and Iris...

Joanne stopped thinking about it. She coaxed Romy in a soft voice while bathing her.

Romy seemed to feel that her mother was in a bad mood, so she pursed her lips and soon stopped crying. After the shower, she fell asleep without drinking milk.

After the two little kids settled down, Joanne went to take a shower and it was not long before 10 o'clock.

No news was good news. Brian did not call back, which meant that he would come back at about 10 o'clock, right?

Joanne went downstairs and poured herself a glass of hot water in the kitchen. As soon as she came out of the kitchen, she saw Brian coming back.

She quickly put down the glass and ran over, "Did everything go well?"

"Yeah," Brian took Joanne's hand and asked, "where are Aiden and Romy?"

"They are already asleep," Joanne suddenly thought of something and asked, "is Wesley back?"

"He came back with me," Brian stared at Joanne and asked, "aren't you afraid that I will be jealous for you care about Wesley so much?"

"No joke. I'm serious," Joanne said, "I didn't tell Yuna about the photos, but Yuna has found something wrong. I don't know if Wesley can deal with Yuna."

"You don't have to worry about Wesley," Wesley said, "Yuna is no match for him, unless he deliberately loses to her."

Joanne glanced at Brian doubtfully, "you used to deliberately lose to me too?"

Brian did not answer. Instead, he threw the question back to Joanne, "What do you think?"

"I won't say it out," she pulled Brian upstairs, "let's go upstairs and take a shower."

Brian smiled and followed Joanne upstairs.
