Chapter 919 Not a Particle of Truth

Iris raised her hand and stroked Emily's head.

There was no wound on her hand.

When Rowdy began to torture her, he said that there must be wounds on her body so Brian would feel distressed and he would then quickly agree to his requests.

Hearing Rowdy's words, Emily immediately burst into tears. He pushed Milo aside and kept him from getting close to Iris. He then held Iris tightly and refused to let go of her.

Rowdy was certainly displeased with his son's care for an outsider, so he ordered someone to take Emily out.

In a moment of desperation, Emily cried louder, which even alarmed those who passed by downstairs.

Those passers-by were very warm-hearted. The first thought that occurred to them was that someone was abusing a child here, and they exclaimed that they were going to call the police.

Once the police arrived, Wesley and Brian would soon be able to locate this place.

Rowdy was afraid that Iris's whereabouts would be leaked out, so he had to compromise. He did not leave any wound on Iris's body but asked someone to fake Iris's injuries on her arm.

At the same time, Rowdy also understood.

Emily really regarded Iris as his grandmother and protected her wholeheartedly.

As long as Emily was here, they could not lay a finger on Iris at all.

That day, when Rowdy left, he forcibly took Emily away. No matter how sadly Emily cried, he did not allow him to stay.

Without the company of the little boy, Iris, who was injured, felt that time passed slowly and that every minute was particularly hard for her.

When Iris was about to drown in despair, Milo sent Emily back here.

Intuition told Iris that Emily must have done something.

Otherwise, Rowdy would not have allowed Emily to come back and stay with her.

She asked the little boy what he did after he went back. Emily blinked and said innocently, "I kept crying and crying. My daddy could not stand my crying, so he sent me away."

Iris knew that it was definitely not that simple.

Later, she asked Milo about that in private.

Milo told her that since Emily returned to the Kent family residence, Emily did not eat, drink or speak. Even if Rowdy lost his temper and ordered Emily to eat and drink, Emily only said that he wanted to accompany Granny Iris.

After all, he was a child. After Emily went on a starvation diet for a whole day, his little face turned as white as a sheet.

Rowdy was afraid that something would really happen to the little boy, so he had to ask Milo to send Emily back here.

However, even if Emily was here, he was just a four-year-old child. He had no ability to stop Rowdy from doing anything.

Rowdy could still find many ways to torture Iris.

Every time he did that, Emily would cry very sadly, but he did not care.

Yesterday afternoon, Iris was in a coma for quite some time. This morning, Uncle Nelson came to see her and said that Iris could not survive for more than three days.

Rowdy did not care. If Iris died, he would consider that the old lady had gone to accompany his deceased father.

However, Wesley and Brian would definitely not think so. Iris was their kin.

Therefore, Rowdy sent the recording to Wesley and forced him to make a choice at this critical moment.

Emily threw caution to the winds, and he kept begging Rowdy to send Iris to see a doctor. He did not want to see anything happen to Granny Iris.

But Rowdy just said that taking care of Iris was none of their business.

Iris's fate was in Wesley's hands.

Emily did not understand why Rowdy said this, but Iris did.

Rowdy just wanted to make things difficult for Wesley. He wanted to force Wesley to send Yuna back, and to make Wesley suffer from the anguish.

Seeing that Iris was lost in thought, Emily thought that Iris was worried about her own safety. He touched Iris's face with his warm little hand and said, "Granny Iris, don't worry. I will find a way to ask Daddy to send you to the doctor."

Iris smiled and nodded. "OK."

Emily then asked, "Granny Iris, how are you feeling now? Are you feeling uncomfortable?"

"As long as you're here, Granny Iris won't feel uncomfortable." Iris tried her best to raise her voice so that she would not sound so weak. "Emily, don't worry. Granny Iris will be fine."

Emily nodded even though he did not fully understand, and he said firmly, "Granny Iris, I will protect you."

"Good boy."

Iris pinched the little boy's face, with a faint smile on her lips.

No matter whether she could leave this place alive or not, Wesley and Brian would never let Rowdy go so easily.

Retribution for what Rowdy had done could never be too severe.

However, Iris would not let Emily get hurt.

For such a good child, being born as Rowdy's son was already the greatest harm that fate had dealt him.

No matter how Rowdy's ending would be, this child should be treated well and live a good life.

While Iris was thinking, Rowdy had already arrived downstairs with Yuna.

"The old lady is in the first room on the left of the second floor," Rowdy said, "You can go upstairs by yourself. I'll wait for you here."

Yuna did not have time to ask any further questions. She ran straight to the second floor and pushed open the door of the first room on the left.

With his back to the door, Emily thought that it was Rowdy or Milo when he heard the sound of the door being pushed open suddenly. He subconsciously protected Iris and comforted her. "Granny Iris, don't be afraid. I won't let them hurt you."

Iris noticed that it was Yuna who came in.

"But didn't Wesley take Yuna to the top of the mountain? Why is she here?

"This was Rowdy's place!"

"Granny Iris, what's wrong with you?"

Emily found that there was something wrong with Iris's expression. He followed her gaze and looked back, only to see Yuna.

The little boy was immediately stunned and his round eyes were wide open. After a long while, he said, "Auntie Yuna."

Yuna nodded and fixed her eyes on Iris.

She could not believe that the person in front of her was Iris.

She had only seen Iris a few times in total. When she was involved in a car accident due to Wesley, she had seen her frequently. During that time, Joanne was hospitalized because of morning sickness, and Iris used to prepare food for Joanne. Iris would also prepare her meals, and she always told her to eat more so that she could have a speedy recovery.

At that time, Iris always dressed elegantly. Her calmness, elegance, and dignity, and her amiable disposition at the same time made people want to get close to her.

However, now Iris looked old, gloomy and haggard. She looked even worse than the photos sent by Rowdy to Wesley.

If Iris was not sent to the hospital immediately, her condition would deteriorate further.

Yuna rushed over and asked, "Aunt Iris, how are you?"

Iris still could not believe that Yuna was really back. She shook her head and said, "Kid, tell me first, how did you come back? How could Wesley allow you to come back?"

"Aunt Iris, you don't know that I have been so anxious and tried to come back a long time ago," Yuna said, "because I don't want to be with Wesley at all."

"How could it be?" Iris grabbed Yuna's hand incredulously. "Joanne told me that you are already pregnant with Wesley's child. Shouldn't you stay with Wesley, give birth to the child and live with him? Why did you say so?"

Yuna paused for a moment and slowly lowered her voice. "Aunt Iris, I can't bear to give birth to the child of someone I don't love."

This time, Iris was not surprised but shocked.

She had lived most of her life and could be considered as a person who had gone through it all. She could tell at a glance if a person had feelings for another.

Just like she could tell at a glance that Brian liked Joanne.

It was impossible that Yuna had no feelings for Wesley.

But why was Yuna unwilling to admit it? Why did she even risk returning to the Kent family?

Iris soon thought of something and held Yuna's hand firmly. "Kid, if you did it for my sake, there is no need to get you and the child involved. Find an opportunity to leave. Don't stay. Rowdy will not let you give birth to the child."

"Aunt Iris, even if you weren't here, I would have come back," Yuna said, "Wesley killed my grandma. How could I stay with him and give birth to his child?"

"Joanne told me about your grandma. Yuna, it's not like that. Wesley didn't..."

Before Iris could finish speaking, Yuna interrupted her, "Aunt Iris, I don't want to talk about Wesley anymore. The most important thing now is to take you to the hospital."

"No, Yuna..."

Iris still wanted to say something else, but Yuna had already turned around and ran downstairs. Rowdy and Milo were smoking in front of the stairs on the first floor.

Yuna straight to Rowdy and said, "Call an ambulance and send Aunt Iris to the hospital."

Rowdy slowly exhaled the smoke. "Well, let me think about it."

"What do you need to consider?" Yuna suddenly raised her voice. "You clearly promised that as long as I came back, you would send Aunt Iris to the hospital. Are you going to break your promise again?"

"Again?" Rowdy looked at Yuna unhappily. "Yuna, what do you mean?"

"You know it yourself!" Yuna gritted her teeth and added, "Last time, you clearly promised Wesley that as long as he let Emily go, you would send Aunt Helen back. However, when Aunt Helen was seriously injured, you didn't even send her to the hospital immediately."

"But finally, I still sent Mrs. Helen to the hospital. That's enough." There was a faint tinge of displeasure in Rowdy's tone. "Yuna, are you blaming me?"

"Yes!" Yuna admitted without hesitation. "I don't like it when you hurt innocent people! Now, do you agree to take Aunt Iris to the hospital or not?"

"I'm worried," Rowdy said, "and I don't know if it's a trap set by Wesley. After all, Yuna, you drove Wesley's car back."

Yuna thought for a moment and said, "I will not go to the hospital with Aunt Iris. I will stay here. You can keep an eye on me."

Then, Rowdy made an eye gesture to Milo.

Milo nodded and went upstairs.

"I want to go upstairs and say something to Aunt Iris."

As soon as she finished speaking, before Rowdy replied, Yuna had turned around and gone to the second floor.

In the room, Milo was instructing his men to put Iris on the medical stretcher. Emily thought that they were going to transfer Granny Iris to another place again, so he kept stopping them. His young and tender voice was full of irresistible seriousness. "You should not hurt Granny Iris again!"
