Chapter 921 A Great Gamble

It took Rowdy a long time to calm down. He looked at Yuna and said, "Okay, say it."

"I went to see a doctor." Yuna was so calm as if she were talking about others. "The doctor said that I could have an operation but the success rate was extremely low, and that I was very likely to die in the operation or become a vegetable who would never wake up."

"No!" Rowdy's voice seemed to come from the bottom of his heart. He growled, "Yuna, tell me it's not true. Tell me!"

Yuna did not care whether Rowdy could take such a blow or not, and continued, "If I leave those two blood clots unsolved, maybe I can live longer, but... I may therefore suddenly collapse one day."

"..."

Rowdy looked at Yuna in disbelief, with his eyes full of deep pain and remorse.

He could not believe that Yuna was so seriously ill, and at the same time, he regretted sending Yuna to work undercover around Wesley.

If it weren't for that wrong decision, there would not have been a gratuitous intervention in their relationship by a third person, and they might have been together a long time ago.

After a long while, Rowdy barely said in a hoarse voice, "Yuna, let's go abroad to see the best doctor. There must be a way!"

"My doctor is a very well-known professor. If he has no way, other doctors will have no way either," Yuna said lightly, "so don't waste your efforts on me."

"But, Yuna..."

Rowdy still wanted to persuade Yuna. He could not just watch Yuna suffer from the illness.

Yuna interrupted Rowdy directly. "One more thing, my child is actually dead."

Rowdy frowned in surprise. "What do you mean?"

Yuna pointed to her head and said, "Because of these two blood clots, the child has no vital signs. If you don't believe me, you can ask Dr. Roberts."

After a moment of silence, Rowdy said with sharp eyes, "Yuna, are you lying to me? If Wesley's child has no vital signs, why didn't Dr. Roberts tell me about it after your checkup?"

"I didn't allow her to tell you," said Yuna sadly while lowering her voice, "for I was too sad at that time."

"It is Wesley's child!" Rowdy asked angrily, "Why did you feel sad about his death?"

"It's not because what you think. I just didn't expect him to have been killed by me before I figured out how to deal with him." Yuna slowly looked up at Rowdy. "How could I tell you that I killed an unborn child?"

Rowdy hugged Yuna and said, "It's not your fault. Yuna, Wesley's child deserves to die. He is not lucky enough to come to this world, so it's not your fault."

These words of "deserves to die" completely irritated Yuna.

The child of Wesley and her should certainly come to this world in good health.

The one who really deserved to die was obviously Rowdy!

However, Yuna could not show her feelings at all.

She could only nod and hide the surging hatred in her heart. She replied with a "hmm" to show that she agreed with Rowdy.

After a moment of silence, Rowdy asked, "Does Wesley know it?"

"No." Yuna broke away from Rowdy's arms and said, "Wesley always thought that the child was healthy, so I took advantage of it to escape from him."

Rowdy looked quite curious. "How did you take advantage of it?"

"I pretended that I had taken Mifepristone & Misoprostol pills, a kind of medicine for abortion," Yuna said calmly, "and Wesley took me to the hospital for a checkup. The doctor told him that the child had no vital signs, and Wesley thought that I killed the child myself."

"And then?" It was hard to tell whether Rowdy believed it or not.

"Wesley was very angry. Then I told him that I never believed his words, because I didn't think you were the murderer of my grandma. After that, Wesley was even angrier, and he wanted to kill me." Yuna still looked calm, as if she and Wesley were just strangers who had met by chance and had never had feelings for each other.

Rowdy sounded nervous. "Wesley really wanted to kill you?"

"He said that since I'd killed his child, we would be even after he killed me," Yuna said with a sneer, "but unfortunately, when he was going to shoot, he suddenly felt uncomfortable and couldn't even hold the gun properly. I took the opportunity to leave."

Rowdy did not seem to believe it. "Didn't you care about him?"

Yuna paused and said, "I didn't have time to care about him. A second ago, he was still putting a gun to my head. When he put down the gun, I only considered it as a good chance to escape."

She could not tell Rowdy with disdain that she did not want to care about Wesley then, and Rowdy would not believe it.

Rowdy knew that she had fallen in love with Wesley.

How could she not care about Wesley when he suddenly felt uncomfortable?

However, it was reasonable if she said that she first thought that it was a chance to escape, and she could also avoid answering whether she cared about Wesley or not.

Sure enough, Rowdy no longer focused on whether Yuna cared about Wesley or not. Instead, he asked, "Is this the way of your coming back?"

"Yes, this is the case," Yuna said.

"..." Rowdy looked at Yuna and did not speak.

Yuna saw through what Rowdy was thinking at a glance and gave him an out. "What else do you want to ask? Just ask."

Rowdy's face clouded for a long time, and he said, "Wesley told me that you promised to marry him."

"Is that what you're struggling to ask?" Yuna suddenly smiled, as if Rowdy had made a stupid mistake. "Wesley told me that you were the murderer of my grandma. I almost believed it and agreed to marry him for the time being. It was just to delay the time, understand?"

Rowdy's gloomy look suddenly disappeared, and he burst into laughter.

Yuna looked puzzled. "What are you laughing at?"

"I also told Wesley that you promised to marry him just to delay the time." Rowdy seemed to be in a good mood. "If you tell Wesley this, will he be angry?"

Yuna suddenly remembered that when she said that to Wesley, he got really angry, as if he were going to eat her alive.

Wesley probably thought that Rowdy and her had a tacit understanding.

It was okay. The deeper the misunderstanding between Wesley and her, the more Rowdy would believe her.

For the same reason, she took the initiative to ask Rowdy if he was the real murderer of her grandma.

Wesley told Rowdy on the phone that he had already revealed to Yuna that Rowdy was the real murderer of Granny Wallace.

However, Rowdy could not be sure whether Yuna believed it or not.

After coming back, before Rowdy mentioned it, Yuna had showed her anger and asked Rowdy if it was true.

In this way, she indirectly told Rowdy that she did not completely believe Wesley's words.

Most importantly, because she was the person who asked the question, she seized the initiative, and Rowdy could only answer her question in a hurry.

Now it seemed that she had succeeded. At least Rowdy would no longer test her.

Yuna looked indifferent and said, "I don't care whether Wesley will be angry or not. I only know that I escaped!"

The smile in Rowdy's eyes spread to the corners of his mouth.

That was exactly Yuna's style of doing things.

Yuna, whom he was familiar with and thought highly of, came back again.

Yuna looked at the time and said to Rowdy, "Let's go."

It seemed that she was not about to go back to the old house of the Kang's family.

Rowdy could not help asking in confusion, "Where are you going?"

"Take me to Dr. Roberts," Yuna said, "and although I said so, but you must not completely believe it. In this case, let's go and ask Dr. Roberts for confirmation."

Rowdy did not expect Yuna to say it so directly.

Yes, he did not fully believe Yuna.

Although Yuna was back and everything could be explained, it did not mean that nothing was suspicious, and no one could prove that Yuna was telling the truth.

What if Yuna believed Wesley's words and firmly believed that he was the murderer? What if she came back to save Iris and seek revenge?

Then when he was undefended, Yuna would kill him.

However, Yuna actually offered to go to Dr. Roberts.

Was she so confident because she was telling the truth or because she had cleverly and perfectly hidden something?

"Rowdy, I don't care what doubts you still have now, but I don't like to be under suspicion," Yuna said, "so let's go and find Dr. Roberts. Then you will know if I'm telling the truth or not."

Rowdy agreed. "OK."

After finishing Yuna's checkup, Dr. Roberts had been placed under house arrest by Rowdy in an apartment near the outer-ring road.

It was a forty-minute ride.

However, for Yuna, it was done in the blink of an eye.

After getting out of the car, Rowdy directly took Yuna upstairs to find Dr. Roberts.

Dr. Roberts was surprised to see Yuna. "Miss Xu, is there any change in your situation?"

Yes, there was.

In the private hospital, her child had been once determined to be very healthy, but such a surprise was like a flash in the pan. This morning, her child was diagnosed with no vital signs again, just like the result of initial checkup by Dr. Roberts.

Yuna speculated that her child was actually still alive, but the checkup result was affected by the blood clots.

All her speculations required a professional doctor to make a correct judgment.

However, Rowdy was right here, so she could not say it out.

Yuna just said, "Dr. Roberts, please tell Mr. Kent the real result of my checkup. I don't mind letting others know."

Dr. Roberts glanced at Rowdy, and looking into his cold and cruel eyes, she hurriedly said, "Mr. Kent, a week after Miss Xu was diagnosed with pregnancy, she went to the hospital for another checkup, and we found that her fetus... had no vital signs."

"Also, please reveal to him that I can't undergo labor induction. Otherwise, it will affect the blood clots in my brain."

Yuna said this very suddenly.
