Chapter 948 Comparisons Were Odious

Exercise...

What kind of exercise was Brian talking about?

Thinking of something, Joanne suddenly blushed.

Brian was looking at Joanne carefully. Seeing her fair-skinned cheeks gradually turning red, he frowned and asked, "Joanne, what are you thinking about?"

Joanne didn't know how to respond.

How could she tell Brian that she thought of another kind of exercise?

"I'm talking about the exercise we've agreed on," Brian raised the corner of his mouth, smiling, "what are you thinking of?"

"I'm wondering whether to set a high goal or a low one," Joanne blurted out, trying to conceal her awkwardness.

Brian responded calmly, "How do you define the 'high' and 'low'?"

"5 kilometers and 3 kilometers!"

Joanne was ready to risk herself-5 kilometers was an insurmountable peak for her.

But for Brian, 5 kilometers was not even enough to warm up.

If it was said by others, Brian would immediately abandon this weak teammate.

However, Joanne was his wife and the mother of his two children.

He could only accept this teammate and teach her from the beginning, just as guiding their sexual life.

Brian patted Joanne's head and said softly, "Let's start with 3 kilometers on the first day."

Without any doubt, Joanne changed into sportswear and sneakers with Brian.

In order to avoid sports injury, Brian led Joanne to warm up first.

Since Joanne did not have much experience, many of her movements were not standard enough. Brian said she would hurt herself in this way.

Joanne shrugged and asked, "Then how should I do it?"

As it was hard to describe by spoken words, Brian could only teach Joanne step by step, which made body contact inevitable.

To be honest, Joanne and Brian had had much closer body contact than this movement guidance.

But at this time, the sportswear made Brian more manly and sexy. Joanne even felt that his body temperature was much higher than usual, full of lure.

When doing the last movement, Joanne's back was against Brian's chest. She could feel his strong heartbeat.

Joanne really felt that she didn't need to warm up.

If she got warmer, she would explode.

Fortunately, the second before Joanne was about to "explode", Brian stopped and asked, "How do you feel now?"

"Very good!" Joanne did not dare to look at Brian, "I feel I can run 300 kilometers!"

"Joanne," Brian suddenly asked, "why is your face so red?"

Joanne would not tell Brian the real reason. She grabbed at an excuse, saying, "I blush once I exercise!"

Brian took a deep look at Joanne, responding, "I believe it."

"Eh?" Joanne was much surprised, "are you so easy to be fooled?"

"I just remembered something," said Brian.

Joanne turned from surprise to curiosity. "What's it?" She asked.

Brian lowered his magnetic voice and whispered in Joanne's ear, "Sometimes, even if you don't move, you will blush."

Joanne felt as if she was struck by lightning.

She knew what Brian was talking about.

She pretended not to understand and said, "I'll run 3 kilometers first. Record the distance for me."

Joanne was totally a green hand in running.

In Brian's words, she was crawling at a tortoise's speed instead of running. He could catch up with her just by walking at big steps.

In less than two minutes, Joanne was already out of breath.

Even so, she still paid attention to her running form and asked Brian, "Do I look ugly?"

"No," Brian's breath was the same as usual, "you have a beautiful face and you already win others."

Joanne was very jealous of Brian.

Why was Brian not tired at all when she was panting like this?

Brian was awesome. As Mrs. Lambert, how could she be so weak?

Unwilling to fall behind, Joanne felt full of strength.

She exerted herself and ran for another two minutes. Her tread gradually became heavier. Obviously, she couldn't hold on any longer.

Brian didn't want to push Joanne too hard. So he grabbed her and said, "Joanne, have a rest."

Joanne stopped and felt like her heart was about to jump out and her chest was swollen to explode.

She gasped for air and looked at Brian, unable to say a word. Her legs were so sore and numb that she couldn't feel them.

"Breathe as usual, not too fast, or you'll choke," Brian opened a bottle of water and handed it to Joanne, "drink some water."

Joanne had a few swallows and fell into Brian's arms, asking, "How far have I run?" Please, told her that she had finished the 3 kilometers.

Brian did not give a specific number but said, "I will tell you after running for 3 kilometers."

Joanne nodded, put her hands on her waist, and gasped, "Can I walk for a while? I won't count it into the 3 kilometers."

"Of course," Brian wiped the sweat from Joanne's forehead, "let's walk for four minutes."

After walking for a while, Joanne got her breath and could speak as normal. "Let's continue," she said.

Because of muscle soreness in her legs, Joanne ran much slower this time. Brian really strode beside her leisurely. In comparison, the breathless Joanne's looked... weak.

Joanne only felt an abyss of disgrace!

She must get rid of this humiliation within twenty days!

Knowing Joanne very well, Brian soon notice that she was unhappy. So he began to run slowly and patted her head, saying, "You've just begun. You don't need to compare yourself to me."

Joanne said angrily, "What if I insist on competing with you?"

Brian sighed and responded, "Joanne, comparisons are odious."

Joanne was speechless.

She swore that before she finished the 3 kilometers, she would not talk to Brian.

After running around her garden for countless circles, Joanne finally asked, "Honey, how far have I run?"

Brian looked at the sports watch on his wrist and answered, "5 kilometers."

Joanne suddenly stopped and widened her eyes, feeling like every single cell in her body was heating. "I ran 5 kilometers?" Asked she.

"Yes," Brian smiled, "it's easier than you thought, isn't it?"

Joanne couldn't agree with him. She shook her head and said with a crying face, "Actually, I'm worn out."

Brian took Joanne's hand, saying, "Let's go inside."

They went back to the gym from the back door of the garden.

Joanne began to stretch herself while watching Brian doing exercise in the fitness facilities.

She had to admit that it was a feast for her eyes-Brian was too handsome while working out.

In order not to be obsessed with the beauty of her husband, Joanne decided to find a topic to talk about. She said, "Brian, how can we confirm the number on the note on Dr. Roberts's desk is the contact information of Wesley?"

Brian said casually, "I will send someone to sneak into Dr. Roberts's office."

Joanne paused and then said, "Then... I'll leave it to you."

Brian responded, "Sure, I'll handle difficult things."

Joanne soon realized that Brian meant she was weak.

She picked up a boxing glove from the ground and threw it to Brian. Then, she quickly ran upstairs to her room to shower.

After washing off her sweat, Joanne felt refreshed. She put on her jacket and went to the children's room next door to see the two little guys.

The temperature in the children's room was suitable so that Aiden and Romy slept very well. Martha was accompanying them, knitting sweaters for them at the same time.

Joanne said to her, "Martha, the light is bad. Leave the sweater and go to bed early."

To guarantee the sleep quality of the two little guys, only one table lamp beside Martha's bed was lit in the room. The 5-watt warm light bulb was not strong enough to illuminate a 40-square-meter room.

"It doesn't matter. I've been doing knitting for decades. Very proficient in it. I don't need too much light," Martha said, "but I think you'd better rest early. You need to work at the company and take care of the old lady these days. You must be tired."

But Joanne did not feel very tired, so she started to learn knitting from Martha.

After an hour, Martha said she was sleepy. So Joanne told her to have a good rest and then went to the study next door.

Sure enough, Brian was there, having a video conference with the senior managers of the overseas branch.

Joanne did not disturb him. She took a book from the bookshelf and started reading on the sofa with a blanket covering her.

She yawned after reading less than 30 pages. So she put the book on her chest, tucked herself in the cashmere blanket and closed her eyes.

Brian finished his meeting. As soon as he turned off the camera, he heard something falling on the ground. Looking in the direction of the sound, he found Joanne's book plopped on the carpet.

He walked over and found Joanne was indeed asleep.

Brian pinched Joanne's nose and called her, "Joanne."

"..." Joanne did not respond.

Playing a trick on her, Brian swept her cheek with her hair. "Joanne?" He called again.

"Hmm..." Joanne murmured.

She turned over and buried her face in the pillow.

Brian knew he could not wake Joanne up like this. If he played too hard, Joanne would definitely lose her temper when she opened her eyes.

After a busy day, he would have no energy to deal with a lion-like Joanne.

Therefore, Brian carried Joanne back to her room.

In fact, Joanne was not completely asleep. She could feel Brian was calling and teasing her, but she didn't want to wake up.

As expected, Brian carried her back to the room.

Lying on the bed, Joanne felt completely relieved. She curled up in the quilt and threw herself into sleep.

After some time, Joanne suddenly felt that something was wrong.

The quilt seemed to be lifted. She felt cold on her legs and someone was touching her legs up and down...

Being so familiar with the hands, she was sure it was Brian.

The key point was what was Brian doing?

"Hmm..."

Joanne protested in a half-awake state. She kicked her legs, trying to make Brian release her.

However, instead of loosening his grip, Brian pressed her leg with more strength and ordered, "Joanne, don't move!"
