Chapter 953 I'd Rather See You Cry

After thinking for a while, Wendy still felt that Wesley would really knock her out.

The reason was simple-Wesley was a man of his word.

Moreover, knocking someone out was not a big deal for Wesley.

Thinking of this, Wendy raised her hand weakly and said, "Boss Hayes."

He forced one word out his thin lips. "What?"

Wendy pleaded, "Can you save this knock-out for tomorrow?"

Wesley glanced at Wendy and asked curiously, "Why?"

"I'm afraid Gavin still won't wake up tomorrow." Wendy lowered her voice. "If you hit me then, I will feel in pain. Then Gavin will feel sorry for me and might jump out of his bed. And if he wants to get even with you then, you'd have to go easy on him since he's a patient!"

Only then did Wesley know that Wendy was worried about Gavin.

He was not good at comforting people, but in the current situation, he seemed to have the obligation to comfort her.

Wesley tried his best to squeeze out a sentence. "Noah said that the treatment went smoothly. Now, we just need to wait for Gavin to wake up."

Wendy answered in a low voice, "Yes." Her voice sounded pitiful.

Wesley hesitated for a few seconds and reached out to touch Wendy's head. "Don't cry."

Wendy didn't want to cry in front of Wesley. She wiped her eyes and forced a smile. "I won't cry!"

Wesley withdrew his hand and looked at Wendy for a moment, as if he had given up on the idea. "Forget it, you'd better cry."

"..." Wendy was speechless. "Boss Hayes, don't be like this. Do you want me to cry or laugh?"

"I wanted you to laugh." Wesley changed his mind. "But then again you look ugly when you laugh."

"..."

She felt a surge of anger exploding in her as numerous curses crossed her mind-

"Boss Hayes is such an honest and mean guy. He deserves to be abandoned by Yuna!

"Look ugly when I laugh? I look the same beautiful either when I cry or laugh, okay?"

Wesley seemed to have seen through Wendy, and suddenly said, "If you want to trash me, you can just say it out loud."

Wendy shook her head subconsciously. "I don't dare. I'll just do it in my heart."

"Sure enough, the little girl is swearing."

Wesley slightly raised the corner of his mouth, looking handsome and at ease.

Wendy looked at Wesley. For a few moments, she was completely infatuated with him.

Wesley's smile was extremely breath-taking. How could Yuna bear to abandon him?

After a while, Wesley said slowly, "Gavin will wake up."

"How do you know?" Wendy tilted her head. "Don't tell me you do fortune-telling as a part-time job."

Wesley said, "My part-time job is running a company."

"Cool!" Wendy widened her eyes. "Then what's your full-time job?"

Wesley said calmly, "Fortune-telling."

Wendy burst into laughter and bowed down to him. "Well said!"

The little girl burst into laughter, and Wesley relaxed. He sat down on the sofa outside the ward and said, "I will stay here. Go to sleep for a while. You can come to him when you wake up then."

Wendy shook her head. "I can't sleep, but thank you."

She knew that Wesley actually didn't like to talk. He had said so much just to make her happy.

She indeed felt much better than before.

Wesley said lightly, "That's what I should do."

He had promised Gavin that when Gavin couldn't, he would take care of Wendy for him.

Now that Gavin was in a coma, it was time for him to help.

Of course, after Gavin woke up, he wouldn't be involved anymore.

Wendy felt warm in her heart.

Wesley, who was cold-blooded and ruthless to others, was so good to her. She had to feel warm!

For a moment, Wendy almost told Wesley about the investigation of Yuna and wanted to give him a surprise.

However, Brian was right.

Wesley already believed that Yuna had killed their child and hated him.

He was completely disappointed in Yuna, and he didn't even want to hear Yuna's name again.

If she suddenly mentioned Yuna to Wesley, he would probably break her hand, wouldn't he?

She seemed to hear a crack in her head. She trembled all over and completely gave up the idea of feeding him the information.

Not long after, Wendy fell asleep on the sofa.

The corridor was warm, so Wendy wouldn't feel cold. Wesley thought about it and still asked someone to bring a blanket over.

His men were very fast. In less than five minutes, they brought over a cashmere blanket and Wesley's laptop.

When Wendy woke up, she first felt her neck was aching. When she thought of Gavin, she couldn't care about anything else. She suddenly sat up and found that she was curled up on a sofa for two, with a warm cashmere blanket on her.

The most important was that she slept in the corridor.

Dimmed light shone through the window at the end of the corridor. It seemed that it was early in the morning.

Wendy came to her senses and heard the sound of someone typing on the keyboard. She looked in the direction of the sound and found it was Wesley.

She promised to accompany Gavin, but she accidentally fell asleep.

So, Wesley stayed with Gavin the whole night?

Wendy removed the cashmere blanket and got up. When she walked to the window, Gavin still hadn't woken up.

Gavin looked the same as usual. If he wasn't wearing a hospital gown and an oxygen mask, she almost thought that he was just asleep instead of sick.

After watching for a while, Wendy came back, wrapped herself in the blanket, and sat on the sofa. She looked at Wesley and asked, "Boss Hayes, didn't you sleep all night?"

Wesley closed his laptop. "I had some work to do. I just finished it."

After staying up all night, he looked just a little tired, but he was still handsome with his strong facial features; he looked languid and charming.

Wendy cursed, "It's not fair."

They were both human beings. Why was she pale like a ghost after staying up all night, while Wesley looked more handsome?

"You slept all night. Isn't it unfair?" Wesley stood up with the laptop under his arms. "Since you're awake, I'll go back first. Remember to call me when you finish crying after Gavin wakes up."

With that, Wesley strode toward the elevator.

Wendy was stunned for a moment before she realized that Wesley was teasing about her crying a lot.

She rolled up the cashmere blanket and flung it at Wesley. "I won't cry!"

Almost at the same time, the elevator door slid open. Wesley stepped into the elevator, and the blanket barely fell behind him.

Wendy ran over and picked up the blanket. She then ran to the window and complained to Gavin, who was in a coma. "Why did you ask Boss Hayes to take care of me? Except for Yuna, do you think he will take care of any other woman?"

"..." Gavin didn't answer.

Wendy gently patted the window and ordered almost willfully. "Wake up quickly. I need you to take care of me!"

"..." Gavin didn't respond.

Wendy pretended to be not disappointed at all and squeezed out a smile. "You want to sleep a little longer? Okay. I'll go back to take a shower and come to you after breakfast."

Wendy had lived for more than 20 years, and this was the fastest shower and breakfast she ever had. As soon as she finished, she immediately ran to the intensive care unit.

The nurse came over to take an IV drip for Gavin. When she saw Wendy, she reminded her. "Miss Moore, family members have half an hour to visit every day. You can go in."

Wendy's face lit up with joy. "Okay!"

She was about to follow the nurse in when she suddenly remembered something. She stopped, turned around, and ran back to the suite. She put on light makeup as fast as she could.

Because she didn't sleep well last night, her face was very pale. If Gavin woke up when she went in, he would definitely be scared by her appearance.

When she returned to the intensive care unit, Wendy was in high spirits. She sat by the bed, held Gavin's hand, and accompanied him silently.

Seeing this, the nurse left silently.

Wendy took Gavin's hand, put it against her cheek, and said, "I only have half an hour. If you don't wake up soon, I can only see you from the outside. Please wake up soon."

"..."

The potion was injected bit by bit into Gavin's blood vessels through the infusion tube. Although there was heating in the room, Gavin's hand was still cold, and his face drained of color.

Gavin looked like this every time he had a treatment.

Wendy had seen it many times, but she still couldn't get used to it and couldn't help feeling distressed.

She covered Gavin's hand with her hand, trying to warm him in this way.

However, it turned out that what she did was in vain.

Gavin's hand didn't warm up, nor did he wake up, so Wendy could only stare at his face, obsessed.

Wendy didn't know if she could still feel Gavin's temperature again.

After a while, the nurse came in and reminded her. "Miss Moore, half an hour is up. You should go."

Wendy's heart ached. She subconsciously held Gavin's hand tighter and said, "I'm going out. If you're tired, you can sleep for a while, but you can't sleep for too long. I'll be angry!"

She slowly let go of Gavin's hand and finally put it back in the quilt. When she was about to withdraw her hand, she suddenly felt that her hand was grabbed.

It was Gavin. He woke up!

Ecstasy hit Wendy like a torrent. In a trance, she only felt that something kept blooming in her heart, and subconsciously called out. "Gavin!"

Gavin slowly opened his eyes, took off the oxygen mask, and looked at Wendy helplessly. "Idiot, I heard it all."

Wendy couldn't hear what Gavin was saying. She only knew that Gavin had woken up, which meant that he had survived again.

Wendy's eyes suddenly turned red, and her voice trembled. "Gavin, wait a minute. I'll call the doctor right away."
