Chapter 955 Freya's Disdain (1)

Wendy raised her hand and said, "I have a question."

"Say it," Gavin said.

Wendy's bright almond-shaped eyes blinked and she said, "If Boss Hayes really made up his mind to kill Yuna, why didn't he do it when he found out that Yuna aborted their child? He even let Yuna go back. Is he purposely trying to create trouble?"

Before Gavin answered, Wendy continued to complain, "Who said that only women's hearts are a deep ocean of secrets? Men's hearts are complex too."

Gavin felt offended and tried his best to defend men. He said, "You don't understand. That was the chance Wesley gave to Yuna."

Wendy was not convinced. She tilted her head and said, "Why did he give Yuna another chance since he has made up his mind?"

Gavin rubbed his temples and said, "Wendy, are you challenging me to tell you that Wesley couldn't bear to kill Yuna on the day she had the abortion?"

Wendy thought for a moment and said with certainty, "Since Boss Hayes couldn't kill Yuna that day, he definitely won't do it today!"

Gavin raised his eyebrows and asked doubtfully, "Are you sure?"

Wendy snorted and said, "I've already seen through Boss Hayes's tricks!"

Gavin's eyes turned cold. He suddenly flipped Wendy over on the bed and tickled her waist with both his hands, saying, "You've seen through Wesley? How long have you had your eye on him, huh?"

"I..."

After saying only one word, Wendy couldn't help laughing. In the end, they romped with each other on the bed.

However, Wendy remembered that Gavin had just received the treatment.

She stopped Gavin and forced him to sleep.

Gavin was indeed exhausted. He rubbed Wendy's head, closed his eyes, and soon fell asleep.

After thinking over it for a while, Wendy didn't know what to do. So she just stayed and accompanied Gavin.

At this time, even if she could just feel Gavin's body temperature, she was still happy.

As for the matter between Wesley and Yuna, it seemed that only they themselves had the right to decide what to do.

So, just let them be.

In the afternoon, at Prime Villas.

Brian returned home at 5:45 p.m., which surprised Joanne.

During this period, Brian had been very busy. Not to mention that he was home before six o'clock, as long as he could come back before nightfall, Joanne would be very happy.

"What was going on today?"

Brian said, "There's a charity dinner tonight. I want you to attend it with me."

Joanne's was even more surprised. She asked, "Why so sudden?"

After all, Brian was the top decision-maker of Lambert Group. He had to attend banquets and cocktail parties. As his wife, Joanne needed to accompany him as Mrs. Lambert.

Usually, if he had to attend a banquet, Brian would tell Joanne two days in advance so that Joanne could have enough time to prepare.

This was the first time that he asked her to attend a party with such short notice.

In addition to this surprise, Joanne had a sense of foreboding.

She felt that something bad was about to happen.

Brian explained, "I didn't plan to attend this charity dinner initially, so I didn't tell you."

Joanne asked curiously, "Then what happened? Why do you have to go now?"

Brian rubbed his temples as if he had a headache and answered, "Rowdy was also invited. Wesley saw his name on the guest list and asked someone to send him an invitation letter. He told me that he would attend the dinner."

"I see," Joanne suddenly understood, "you're going to back Wesley up!"

The phrase "back up" was not usually used by Joanne. Therefore, Brian felt strange when he heard that. He looked at Joanne without speaking.

Joanne smiled casually and responded, "Don't forget my major. I've dealt with a lot of people. Although I didn't have to face criminals directly, I've seen too many ruffians and hooligans. They like to use it."

Brian asked a question that he really wanted to know, "So, what kind of criminal is Rowdy in your eyes?"

Joanne replied without hesitation, "He should be shot immediately!"

Brian smiled and said, "Go and get changed."

Joanne chose a long white dress and put on light makeup. Then she did her hair simply and put on a beige cashmere coat. The outfit made her look gentle, just like a white swan on the lake in spring-elegant and outstanding.

Brian wore his usual dark suit, which emphasized his perfect figure. Joanne felt that this handsome and tall guy was seducing her with each step he took.

"He's really... a temptation."

Brian looked at his watch and motioned for Joanne to hold his hand. "It's getting late. Let's go," he said.

"Okay."

Joanne held Brian's arm and went downstairs with him.

The host of today's charity dinner was a famous philanthropist in Arlington who had a renowned reputation. As soon as the invitation letters were sent, more than half of the businessmen in Arlington accepted his invitation.

Brian's appearance greatly surprised everyone.

It was widely known that since Brian had his twins, he focused more on his family and spent almost all his time at home after work. He rarely attended banquets and parties now.

Therefore, when others saw Brian tonight, they all said that Mr. and Mrs. Lambert were really philanthropical.

While dealing with the people who came up to talk with him, Brian was also looking out for Wesley in the venue.

But before Wesley arrived, Rowdy appeared first.

Everyone in the financial circle of Arlington knew that Rowdy was a professional manager hired by the Scott Group.

In other people's eyes, under the leadership of Rowdy, the Scott Group had been brought back from the brink of death and was on the right track again, as it regained its former glory.

However, no one knew why Rowdy did such a major revamp of the members of the Scott Group.

Also, no one could figure out Rowdy's background.

But Rowdy had outstanding capabilities. No one dared to offend him and everyone regarded him as a god.

Except for Brian and Wesley, no one knew how the Scott Group rose again, let alone the shady deals that Rowdy used the Scott Group to do.

"Mr. Kent, didn't you bring a female companion today?" someone asked.

After becoming the CEO of the Scott Group, Rowdy had to attend these occasions frequently. Every time, he would bring a female companion. But he always had a different girl each time.

Men would understand this, so they were not surprised.

But this time, there was no woman beside Rowdy, which made everyone very curious.

Rowdy looked at his watch and motioned for everyone to look out, saying, "My female companion should be here soon."

Everyone's curiosity was totally aroused and they kept a sharp lookout.

Joanne had a bad feeling. She pulled Brian's sleeve and said, "Brian, could his female companion be Yuna?"

"Probably not," Brian answered.

Rowdy should have known that the host had invited Wesley. According to Rowdy's style, it was unlikely that he would bring Yuna with him.

The reason was very simple: as Yuna finally went back, Rowdy would never allow her to appear in front of Wesley again.

At this time, a tall sexy figure appeared at the door of the banquet hall. A woman made her way gracefully toward Rowdy.

When they saw the woman's face clearly, everyone in the hall was surprised.

"Wow, is that Rosalyn?"

"It's really Rosalyn, the woman who was caught doing drugs and was just released!"

"Gee, Brian didn't take Rosalyn's bait and now she's targetting Rowdy?"

Rosalyn's appearance was beyond Joanne's expectation.

She had just met Rosalyn in the supermarket a few days ago. The quarrel between them had been a hot topic on the gossip website.

In just these few days, Rosalyn seemed to regain her vitality-she had returned to being the old Rosalyn.

After all, she used to be an international superstar. When she dressed well and makeup on, she managed to regain the aura of confidence that she had from before.

Today, Rosalyn was all dressed up. The makeup on her face was flawless. There was a condescending attitude in her eyes, and each of her steps exuded arrogance.

All of a sudden, everyone felt that Rosalyn was still that brilliant international superstar: she didn't have any scandals, nor was she someone who had undergone rehabilitation-she was still a famous and proud woman.

But in reality, wherever Rosalyn appeared, there were no longer any groups of entertainment journalists.

Her confidence and pride were all deliberately created by herself.

However, it did not mean Rosalyn did not become a hot topic.

Rowdy held Rosalyn's waist and introduced her to everyone, "Miss Rosalyn, my companion."

Rosalyn nodded and smiled, greeting everyone graciously.

There were journalists in the hall. When they found Rosalyn, they immediately came over and asked Rosalyn about her comeback.

Rosalyn held Rowdy's arm and did not answer any of their questions directly. With a smile on her face, she spoke flawlessly, leaving no chance for anyone to find fault with her.

Just as the journalists were about to leave, Rowdy suddenly said, "I will set up a personal studio for Rosalyn."

Hearing that, the journalists came back immediately and asked, "Mr. Kent, the Scott Group does not dabble in the entertainment industry. Are you setting up this studio in the name of the company or yourself?"

"Myself," Rowdy replied.

Sensing gossip, the journalists asked more questions.

"Miss Rosalyn, judging from Mr. Kent's words, do you really plan to stage a comeback?"

Rosalyn ruffled her hair and answered, "Since Mr. Kent has made it public, I have nothing to hide. Yes, I'll make a come back soon."

A journalist hurriedly asked, "After you come back, will you focus more on TV shows or movies?"

Rosalyn replied smilingly, "I won't act for the time being. My focus will be on charity and public benefit activities. I once made a big mistake and I really want to make amends for the past."
