Chapter 969 Wesley's Plot (2)

Auston was right.

Wesley tried hard to lure Yuna here indeed for another purpose.

After returning to Glasgow, Wesley accidentally found that Joanne had been investigating what had happened to Yuna, but she did not mention it to him.

He vaguely guessed Joanne's plan.

If Joanne found that Yuna was indeed hiding something, she would give him a surprise. If the truth was what it looked like, that was to say, Yuna really hated him and regarded him as her enemy, Joanne would pretend that she had never investigated it.

Having investigated it for so many days, Joanne made no progress, but she did not give up. She had been making a painstaking investigation and trying to prove that there was a reason why Yuna gave up him and the child.

Seeing Joanne be busy with his affair, Wesley suddenly felt that it shouldn't be like that.

He was the person involved, but he stayed out of the affair and left it to Joanne, who needed to take care of two children.

Probably because he was influenced by Joanne or because he had long had this idea, almost in an instant, Wesley made a decision-to see Yuna again.

Therefore, he collected evidence of Rowdy's money laundering and let him be detained at the police station for a day, creating two opportunities to meet Yuna.

If Yuna really gave up the child for an unspeakable reason, then she could tell him directly when they met this time.

Rowdy was at the police station, and even if he took Yuna away directly, it was beyond his reach.

It turned out that he and Joanne had been wrong.

Yuna was here just for the negotiation. She was completely on Rowdy's side. Even if she knew that Auston did not intend to cooperate with her, she still wanted to win an excellent partner for Rowdy.

She did not mention their relationship, nor did she feel guilty about aborting the child, let alone explain it.

Perhaps what Yuna said on the day she left was true. She really regarded him as her enemy and had never thought about making their child survive.

In that case, he and Yuna would only be enemies.

"Hey!" Auston reached out his hand and snapped his fingers in front of Wesley. "What are you thinking about?"

"Nothing." Then, Wesley said lightly in a business manner, "Make this place clear. If the police come, don't let them find anything wrong."

"No problem!" With that, Auston suddenly felt that something was wrong and looked at Wesley curiously. "What about you? What are you going to do?"

Wesley replied, "I'm going to find someone."

Wesley went to Lambert Group

Brian was surprised by Wesley's arrival. He postponed the upcoming meeting and asked his secretary to bring in two cups of coffee. He motioned for Wesley to sit down and asked, "What's the matter?"

He and Wesley were both very particular about time. They would never meet as long as they could make it clear on the phone.

In Gavin's words, the time they spent on the way to each other was enough for them to deal with a lot of things.

Wesley came to his office without warning, so Brian had to suspect that things might be very complicated.

Wesley took a sip of the bitter black coffee and said, "Tell Joanne not to waste her time."

"..."

Brian was even more surprised. He thought about it carefully, and found that he had never revealed to Wesley that Joanne was investigating Yuna's matter. Except for sending someone to sneak into Dr. Roberts's office, he had hardly intervened in it.

How did Wesley find it out?

Wesley noticed Brian's confusion and smiled meaningfully. "Do you think that Joanne can really hide the investigation from me?"

"Of course, it is on the premise that you really don't care about Yuna at all." Brian's tone was rarely teasing. "It seems that I was wrong."

If Wesley did not care about Yuna at all, he would not pay attention to anything related to her anymore. No matter what Joanne did for the investigation, he would not find it out.

However, Wesley found it out.

Although Wesley did not admit it himself, Brian was sure that Wesley did not completely loosen the attachments to Yuna.

Brian picked up the white porcelain spoon and slowly stirred the coffee. "Do you want to know the result of Joanne's investigation?"

Wesley knew that Joanne was investigating Yuna's matter, but he had an inexplicable resistance to the investigation result. He had never tried to know about it.

Now, there was no need for him to know about it.

Wesley's voice was faint, and it sounded like he did not care at all, but in fact, he perfectly hid his disappointment. "I saw Yuna just now. Even if I threatened her with the international criminal police, she didn't explain it. Or maybe she had nothing to explain at all." He looked at Brian and asked tentatively, "Joanne has been investigating for so many days but finds nothing, right?"

Brian raised his eyebrows. "Yes."

Joanne had been investigating for so many days, but she could not even solve the only doubt about Dr. Roberts.

Wesley smiled when he knew that the answer was as he had expected. "So, we misunderstood Yuna. She really believes in Rowdy. Let's not waste our time."

Brian pondered for a moment. "Are you sure?"

Wesley replied without hesitation, "Yes."

He had not been hopeful about Yuna. This meeting even upset him more and sobered him up.

He and Yuna were in opposing camps. Their previous intersection was only a dislocation of their fates.

Now that they'd both returned to their respective positions, they were destined to fight with each other.

Brian did not comfort Wesley.

He had known Wesley for so many years, and it was the first time that he had seen Wesley's desperate look.

Unless there was a miracle that Yuna came back to overthrow everything and told Wesley that it was just a misunderstanding.

Otherwise, any comfort would be useless to Wesley and could not make his dead heart bounce back.

"I'm going to the hospital to visit Gavin."

Wesley got up and left Brian's office. His handsome face was covered with coldness, but his back looked lonely.

Brian looked at Wesley's back and suddenly thought of Yuna who was always carefree.

If she saw Wesley's look, would Yuna at least feel sorry for him?

In fact, Yuna could not see Wesley.

On the way back, Yuna had been thinking that the person who had sniped at her last night should be exactly the one who tried to kill her today.

But who was it possibly?

Yuna thought about it casually, and countless names came to her mind.

Just then, Wesley made a mistake. She clearly remembered what she had done for Rowdy, as well as who she had offended.

So now it was an embarrassment that she could make a long list after casually considering those who wanted to kill her.

Yuna was in a dilemma. In this case, how could she determine the suspect?

While struggling, Yuna suddenly found another thing.

The man who wanted to kill her had obviously sniped at her last night, especially in the hotel garden with a wide view. She had nowhere to run.

But why didn't that person pull the trigger finally?

The killer definitely had nothing to do with Brian, for he did not take into account that it was a hotel owned by Lambert Group.

Today she was in the bar, and the sniper's vision was blocked, and she could easily detect it and avoid the bullet. However, the sniper chose to pull the trigger today.

Did the sniper want to challenge a more difficult sniping? Or was it a stupid guy?

Milo, who was sitting in the passenger seat, looked back and saw Yuna biting her fingers thoughtfully. This was her habit when she was thinking.

"Miss Xu," Milo asked, "shall I send you back to the old house or somewhere else?"

"Send me back to the old house, but let's go to Nanhua Road first."

Yuna came to her senses, and her tone became as relaxed as usual, as if she were not the one who had been sniped at.

Nanhua Road was a famous delicacy street, known as a paradise for foodies. Everyone loved it.

Milo could not understand why Yuna was still in the mood to go to Nanhua Road when she had almost died.

Yuna noticed Milo's look of confusion and explained, "When I went out, I promised Emily that I would bring him something tasty."

"But..." Milo said hesitantly, "if the person who wants to kill you doesn't give up, it will be very dangerous for you to go to Nanhua Road."

"There are a lot of pedestrians and patrol policemen on Nanhua Road. If he dares to take action there, I'll send my head to him for a shot," Yuna said firmly, "so stop talking and send me there."

After buying some snacks that Emily liked on Nanhua Road, Yuna returned to the old house of the Kent family.

Emily was playing with himself in the living room. When he saw Yuna come back, he ran out excitedly. Upon seeing the snacks brought back by Yuna, he licked his lips and looked at Yuna eagerly. "Auntie Yuna, I want to eat them!"

Yuna handed the snacks in her hand to Emily and said, "They are specially for you."

Emily could not help cheering, "Auntie Yuna, I love you! By the way, where did you and Uncle Milo go? Why did you come back so late?"

Yuna and Milo tacitly refused to mention what had just happened. They casually found an excuse to cover it up.

Emily blinked his eyes and asked, "Will you go out later?"

Milo said ahead, "Miss Xu, leave the rest to us. You can stay at home with Emily today."

He was afraid that Yuna would be attacked again after she went out.

If something happened to Yuna, he could not explain it to Rowdy when the latter came back at night.

Emily happily cheered, "Yeah! Auntie Yuna can stay with me at home!"

Yuna touched the little boy's head with a smile and looked at Milo.

Was it because Milo was afraid that she would be attacked again when she went out that he made the decision himself?

"He began to care about her. Did it mean that he gradually believed in her?

"Nice.

"However, there was an unknown person who wanted to kill her, which worsened her situation that had been already poor."

Milo saw that Yuna was worried and said, "I'll investigate what happened just now. When Brother Rowdy comes back, we'll discuss how to solve it together."

Yuna nodded. "Thank you."

Milo said nothing more and left the old house.

Emily was too young to notice something wrong according to Milo's obscure words. He was fully dedicated to the snacks and did not forget to share them with Yuna.

Yuna ate a piece of fried chicken but had no appetite.

Wesley was utterly disappointed in her. She had to collect evidence of Rowdy's crimes as soon as possible and regain Wesley's trust.

Otherwise, Wesley would never know the truth.
