Chapter 975 The Sniper (2)

Yuna did not go out for a whole day. She stayed at home and played games with Emily. They had a good time and even forgot all about eating and sleeping.

In the evening, after helping Emily take a shower, Yuna wanted to coax the little boy to sleep. However, the little boy, who was surprisingly energetic, refused to sleep and pestered Yuna to play Chinese checkers.

After several rounds, Rowdy and Milo came back.

Rowdy checked the time and frowned. "Emily, why aren't you sleeping yet?"

Emily hid behind Yuna, poked out half of his head, and looked at Rowdy uneasily. "I'll tell you if you agree not to get angry!"

Rowdy's frown deepened, but he finally compromised and said, "I'm not angry. Tell me."

"Auntie Yuna won't sleep until you come back. I don't want to sleep alone." Emily pointed at Rowdy. "So it's your fault!"

Rowdy glanced at Yuna and could roughly guess why she was waiting for him. He ordered Emily, "Go back to your room now. Yuna and I have something to talk about!"

Yuna knew that it was not so easy for Emily to listen to Rowdy.

She touched Emily's head and said, "Be a good boy. I'll be there soon."

Emily was inexplicably afraid that Yuna would leave without saying goodbye, so he carefully asked Yuna to pinky swear on it. "I'm waiting for you."

Yuna made a pinky promise. "See you later."

Kim took Emily upstairs. Yuna made sure that the little boy could not hear her and then asked, "Who sniped at me yesterday at the bar street?"

Rowdy motioned for Milo to come over and ordered, "Tell Yuna everything you found."

Milo handed Yuna a full body shot of someone.

Yuna recognized the person in the photo at a glance. The person was called Jason, who was one of her targets two years ago and was lucky enough to escape. After she got what she wanted, she was in a hurry to leave, so she did not hunt him down.

After that, she returned to Glasgow, she forgot about Jason over time. Later, when she heard about Jason's whereabouts several times, she did not take it seriously.

"Was Jason here to take revenge on her now?"

Yuna asked directly, "Where is Jason now?"

Her situation was unstable, so she could not deal with Jason in person. However, Rowdy had so many people under his command. He could easily send a few people out and kill Jason.

If it were in the past, Yuna would not rely on Rowdy's power. She would kill Jason by herself.

But now, she could not take the risk, let alone risk her child's life.

Milo glanced at Yuna and hesitated to give the answer as if it were a very difficult question.

The more Yuna looked at him, the more she felt that something was wrong. She changed her question. "What happened to Jason?"

Milo was silent for another moment before saying, "He is dead."

Yuna was stunned and could hardly respond.

A person who came from afar to kill her was dead before he could kill her?

Was this guy here just for laughs?

Yuna could not help asking curiously, "How did he die?"

Milo avoided Yuna's gaze and said vaguely, "The mantis stalks the cicada, not knowing that the oriole is lurking behind."

Yuna understood Milo's words, but she still found it incredible.

Was it really such a coincidence that Jason had been killed by her enemy before he killed her?

Yuna did not give up and asked further, "Who was the oriole?"

Milo shook his head. "I also want to know, but I can't find anything. Jason's body was found in the suburbs. The police registered and investigated the case, and finally confirmed that the case was an accident."

Yuna and Milo knew very well that it was seemingly an accident, but actually a clear case of homicide.

Jason was not an easy person to deal with. Ordinary people could not just kill him and then pretend that his death was an accident.

There were only a few extraordinary people in Arlington.

When Wesley's name came to her mind, Yuna felt that she was insane.

Wesley did have the ability to deal with Jason quietly, but he had no reason to do so.

Therefore, it should be someone else.

However, her crisis had been solved and she did not even need to lift a finger. As the old saying in Glasgow went, she was lucky enough to pick up a dead chicken.

This feeling was good!

Yuna breathed a sigh of relief and said, "No matter who killed Jason, it solved a big problem for us. As long as that person doesn't target us, we don't have to care about it. Just pretend that nothing happened."

Rowdy nodded. "Emily is still waiting for you. Go upstairs and sleep."

Yuna stretched herself and said, "I'm also sleepy."

After that, she went upstairs nonchalantly.

Rowdy and Milo walked into the yard. The night was dark and cold. This winter in Arlington seemed to be colder than ever.

Milo knew Rowdy's habits, so he handed him a cigarette and lit it for him.

Rowdy took a deep drag on the cigarette and slowly exhaled a large smoke ring. "Could it be that Wesley killed Jason?"

If it was really Wesley who killed Jason, there was only one explanation. He did it for Yuna's sake.

Did he want to solve the problem for Yuna or would not allow anyone to kill Yuna except for himself? Only Wesley knew the exact reason.

Rowdy did not know why he suspected Wesley. He just had a very strong intuition.

Milo also could not figure out why Rowdy suspected Wesley, and he could only answer truthfully, "I made an investigation, and I'm very sure it's not Wesley."

"Got it." Rowdy threw the cigarette butt to the ground and stamped it out slowly. "Go back and get some sleep."

After Rowdy fell asleep, the house of the Kent family settled down and became quiet again.

However, the Cityscape Hotel was not quiet.

In the middle of the night, Samantha was screaming in the lobby of the hotel, "I don't care. Isn't the operation philosophy of your hotel to satisfy all requirements of the customers? Now I'm looking for Brother Wesley. You have to find him out for me!"

"Miss... Miss Young, if you lost something, we can certainly help you, but we really can't help you find a living person." The hotel manager advised politely, "Also, for the sake of other guests, please keep your voice down."

"Ah!"

Samantha became hysterical and her screams became louder.

She received a phone call from her father and came back from Canada. She had thought that she could finally have a romantic relationship with Wesley after spending the night with him.

However, since that night, she had never seen Wesley again!

She could not get in touch with Wesley at all. She almost tore the city apart, but still could not find him.

Samantha refused to admit that Joanne was right. Wesley was not serious about her at all, and the hotel manager's words just confirmed the truth: the steely Mr. Mu had a constant flow of female companions in his suite!

With this idea in her mind, Samantha screamed even more miserably.

The manager had been in charge of managing the hotel for many years and rarely met such an annoying customer as Samantha.

Brian had told him not to be polite to anyone impolite, for the hotel owner had the final say.

The manager's patience began to wear thin and he said coldly, "Miss Young, if you go on like this, we'll have to ask you to leave."

It was already a fatal blow for Samantha when she failed to find Wesley.

The manager even wanted to drive her away?

Samantha's delicate artificially made-up face was almost distorted. She rushed to the manager and shouted, "Do you know who I am? I know your boss! Yes, help me contact Brian, or Joanne!"

When someone in the hotel mentioned Brian and Joanne, they would usually call them "Mr. Lambert" and "Mrs. Lambert". Samantha was the first one to address them by their full names.

The manager really felt that he had treated Samantha too politely. He should have asked the security guards to drive Samantha out directly.

At this time, Samantha suddenly said, "Help me contact Brian, and I promise I won't create any more problems here."

Wesley had personally admitted that Brian was his friend, which showed that they had a good relationship.

She could not get in touch with Wesley, but Brian would definitely be able to!

The manager had no choice but to contact Brian and ask him how to deal with Samantha.

Brian contacted Wesley directly. In less than twenty minutes, Wesley appeared at the hotel.

When Samantha saw Wesley, her eyes lit up. She almost ran over and said, "Brother Wesley, you finally came to me."

Wesley did not even look at Samantha. He said coldly, "Come with me."

"OK!"

Samantha was certainly happy to go with Wesley.

They got into Wesley's car, but the car traveled for only a short distance before it stopped. Samantha was about to ask why when she heard Wesley say, "Get out of the car."

"Brother Wesley." Samantha looked at Wesley pitifully. "Don't you want me anymore?"

Wesley acted as if he did not hear Samantha's words. "There is a hotel at the intersection. I've booked a room for you. You can stay there."

Samantha did not give up and approached Wesley, asking expectantly, "What about you? Where will you stay?"

"Samantha," Wesley said as he looked at Samantha coldly, "I don't like living in hotels."

"You liar!" Samantha said hysterically, "Joanne clearly told me that you like the Cityscape Hotel very much, and you like the suite that we lived in the night before yesterday!"

Wesley frowned and asked, "What else did Joanne say?"

Samantha said reluctantly, "She also said that you often bring different women to hotels. Brother Wesley, I don't care about your past, but we slept together the night before yesterday. You must be responsible for me! Otherwise, I will go back and report it to my dad!"

Wesley could ignore Samantha, but her father's situation was currently...

He did not want these things to be made known to his elders.

Wesley turned his head and looked at Samantha with an unfathomable look.

This was the first time Wesley met Samantha's eyes tonight. Before she rejoiced, she noticed that Wesley's gaze was a little strange. She could not help feeling nervous and said, "Brother Wesley, what's wrong? Don't scare me."

"Samantha," Wesley said lightly, "you'd better first figure out what happened the night before yesterday."

Wesley's tone was so flat that Samantha suspected that nothing had happened between them the night before yesterday.

But how was that possible?

Samantha was stunned for a long while and asked, "Brother Wesley, what... do you mean?"

Wesley did not answer Samantha's question. He just said, "I'm in a hurry. Get out of the car."

Samantha's eyes turned red. She wanted to ask about what had happened the night before yesterday, but the door was pulled open.

One of Wesley's men stood beside the car door. He seemed to be polite, but in fact, he said abruptly, "Miss Young, please come out."
