Chapter 977 The More You Move, The Greater Danger You'll Be (2)

When Joanne came out of the study, she was already as still as a pool of water, lying in Brian's arms like a lazy and sated kitten.

Back in the room, Brian whispered, "Go take a shower?"

Joanne had sweated a lot just now, and she could not wait to take a shower. She snuggled into Brian's arms and said, "Okay."

The bathtub was soon filled with water, and Brian put Joanne down in the bathtub. Joanne immediately felt that she was engulfed in a bubble of warmth. She opened her eyes comfortably and wanted to shift her position, only to see Brian standing by the bathtub, taking off his clothes and showing his strong and good figure.

Having been married for so long, Joanne had seen Brian's naked body countless times, but she rarely saw it when she was so unprepared, especially after they had sex.

"Ugh!"

Joanne let out a low cry and subconsciously covered her face. However, she could not help peeking at Brian through the gaps between her fingers, only to meet Brian's faintly smiling eyes. She felt guilty and hurriedly closed her eyes again.

Brian calmly lifted up his long legs and stepped into the bathtub, which made the water ripple.

Joanne's hand slid down, revealing half of her eyes. She looked at Brian with a blush. "You..."

"Uh-huh."

Brian motioned for Joanne to go on in a sexy voice while he laid down and held Joanne in his arms.

The double bathtub was big enough for two people to lie down in it. Moreover, when they hugged each other in such an "intimate" way, the ambiguous atmosphere was more pronounced than usual.

Joanne wished that she could huddle up into a ball or simply become invisible.

Looking at how shy Joanne was, Brian wanted to tease her. He scooped up some water in the bathtub and slowly poured it on her.

Joanne was sensitive. When Brian did this, she felt that the parts of her body where the water drops touched were even more sensitive than other parts. She could not help but huddle into Brian's arms.

As if playing with a cat, Brian poured the water on different parts of her body, and Joanne became increasingly aroused and cuddled up to him.

He asked knowingly, "What's wrong?"

Joanne blushed and was too embarrassed to say that she was aroused. She casually found an excuse. "I'm tired."

Brian suddenly said considerately, "I'll give you a massage."

He massaged Joanne's shoulders with appropriate strength. Even if Joanne was not actually tired, his gentleness still made her enjoy herself. She closed her eyes subconsciously and gave herself up to Brian's service.

Not long after, Joanne found something strange.

Wasn't Brian massaging her? Why did he put her legs around his waist? Also, where were his hands?

Joanne glared at Brian with a blush, and her breathing was much more rapid. "Your, your hands are in the wrong places!"

Brian said seriously, "I'll check it out." Then, he suddenly rubbed the places hard.

Joanne shivered. She swallowed her groan, but her voice still softened uncontrollably. "What are you checking?"

Brian's look grew more intense and his voice gradually became hoarse. "The stock of the granary."

Joanne was amused and blushed. She asked somewhat angrily, "What's the result?"

"The stock is sufficient." Brian looked at Joanne meaningfully. "I think that Aiden and Romy need help."

What a nice excuse!

However, Joanne still could not help cursing. "Rogue!"

Brian forced his member upward and into Joanne, filling her up. Joanne groaned in a low voice, followed by countless gentle moans.

Brian was aroused probably because of the novelty of having sex in a different place so Joanne constantly begged for mercy. Her mind went blank several times as if she had gone to nirvana before returning to the secular world.

After their intercourse, Brian picked Joanne up from the water, carried her back to the room, and put her on the bed.

Joanne fell asleep immediately, not only because she was sleepy, but because she was also tired.

When she woke up the next day, Joanne had a sore waist and neck. She went to Brian resentfully and held him accountable.

Brian seriously thought for a while and said, "Shall we get a more suitable bathtub?"

"What do you mean by talking about a more suitable bathtub?!"

Joanne said nothing and silently left to make soup for Iris and Gavin.

After making the soup, Joanne asked the driver to send her to the hospital. She did not expect to meet Wesley as soon as she got out of the car, and the latter was in a bad mood.

There had always been an unfathomable dangerous look in Wesley's eyes, which made people wary about approaching him easily.

And now, he also looked displeased, like a beast that had been infuriated and was ready to roar and kill at any moment.

The fear made Joanne's heart pound uncontrollably.

"If it's because I slandered you, I could apologize. Please don't be angry!"

Joanne plucked up her courage and asked tentatively, "Wesley, what's wrong?"

"Samantha is hospitalized," Wesley said with a gloomy face, "and I'm going to see her."

Joanne was stunned for a moment and felt surprised. Samantha even made a scene in the hotel yesterday, and why was she suddenly hospitalized today?

She wanted to ask Wesley, but he had already strode away gloomily.

Joanne had no choice but to ask Gavin if he knew why Samantha was hospitalized after sending the soup to his suite.

"I don't know." After a pause, Gavin continued, "However, since Samantha could get Wesley to come to the hospital, it means that she must have made a big scene. Are you going to probe into this matter?"

"I can't." Joanne hurriedly refused, with a look of horror.

"Hey?" Gavin looked at Joanne with great interest. "Are you afraid of Wesley?"

"..." Joanne hesitated, but finally admitted it. "I am indeed afraid of Wesley."

Hearing that, Wendy jumped over and looked at Joanne curiously. "Cousin, how did you offend Boss Hayes?"

Joanne told them everything about her "slandering" Wesley. In the end, she did not forget to defend herself. "I just wanted Samantha to be upset at that time. I didn't expect that... I would get into trouble."

Gavin was weak, but when he saw Joanne's look, he still could not help laughing out loud and did not hide his gloating at all.

Joanne was embarrassed. "Stop laughing. I just met Wesley in the parking lot, and I almost broke out in a cold sweat."

Wendy chuckled and said, "Cousin, only my cousin-in-law can save you now."

"Wendy is right." Gavin shrugged and looked at Joanne helplessly. "You should go to Brian."

Joanne recalled what happened last night.

She had indeed asked Brian for help, and then something unspeakable happened...

Gavin looked at Joanne's conflicted look and thought that she was hesitating. He reminded her, "Your husband is a businessman. It's basically impossible for him to help you in vain, unless you provide something of equal value."

Joanne was speechless. She had already paid the price, but she had not obtained anything of equal value from Brian.

Huh, did she suffer a loss?

Seeing Joanne's look becoming even more conflicted, Gavin continued, "You can also take the initiative to apologize to Wesley. After all, you are Brian's wife. For Brian's sake, Wesley won't blame you."

While Joanne and Gavin were having a heated discussion, Wesley was in trouble.

After parting with him last night, Samantha kept trying to get in touch with him, but he was busy with his own business and ignored her.

The last message sent by Samantha read,"If you don't call me back, I'll commit suicide."

It was two hours later when Wesley saw the message. He asked the hotel staff to check on Samantha and found that she had taken too many sleeping pills.

The hotel staff called an ambulance, and Wesley had to rush to the hospital.

After having her stomach pumped, Samantha woke up. She insisted that Wesley had had sex with her the night before yesterday and asked Wesley to be responsible for her. Otherwise, she would tell her father about it.

Their affairs must not be reported to their elders.

Wesley said with a sullen face, "Samantha, I'll say it again. Go and find out what happened that night!"

"I know very well that we had sex!" Samantha was very stubborn. "Brother Wesley, are you trying to escape your responsibility?"

Wesley had no responsibility toward Samantha at all, so there was no need to continue this conversation.

Wesley turned around and left Samantha's ward. He first visited Iris, and then went to find Gavin.

Joanne and Gavin were still in a discussion when Wesley suddenly came over. She was surprised and took a careful look at Wesley, finding that there was something wrong with his expression.

Joanne asked tentatively, "What's wrong with Samantha?"

She asked this question because she guessed that Wesley looked unhappy probably because of Samantha. After all, Wesley came to the hospital because of Samantha.

Wesley hated having his thoughts seen by others. He frowned and did not answer Joanne immediately.

Joanne noticed Wesley's impatience. She coughed and said, "I can help you get rid of Samantha."

Wesley looked at Joanne in surprise. "Do you have a way?"

"I can try," Joanne said, "and as long as you cooperate with me, I can make Samantha give up on you. On the contrary, you have to promise me one thing."

Wesley said in a cold voice, "As long as it has nothing to do with Yuna, I can promise you anything."

"... You think too much. It has nothing to do with Yuna." Joanne held back her laughter. "I just want to ask if you can forgive my slandering you after I help you get rid of Samantha." After a pause, Joanne continued, "Otherwise, every time I see you in the future, I want to run..."

Joanne's so-called "slandering" was actually true for the time before Wesley met Yuna.

Now, Wesley did not care much about it.

However, since Joanne proposed it, he did not mind agreeing to it.

"Deal," Wesley said.
