Chapter 993 Truthfully, My Love for You Is Not Deep Enough

At the President's Office of Lambert Group, Brian was handling an important document when he suddenly received a call from Wesley.

If he remembered correctly, Wesley was dealing with Yuna's matter. There was probably bad news if he suddenly contacted him.

Brian picked up the phone. Before he spoke, Wesley had told him everything that Yuna was hiding.

Yuna was surprisingly sick, but in order to save Iris and prevent Wesley from taking the risk, she lied to Wesley and returned to Rowdy at the greatest risk.

Even Brian, who was always calm, could not accept such unexpected news for a while. He stopped signing the document, and the ink on the tip of the pen fell on the blank space of the paper and spread out, dyeing the white paper black, just like their misunderstanding of Yuna.

During their stay at the top of the mountain for half a month, none of them noticed Yuna's abnormality.

After a long while, Brian came to his senses and asked Wesley on the other end of the phone, "Where are you now?"

"On the way to you," Wesley said.

At first listen, Wesley's voice was calm.

However, if one listened carefully, it was not difficult to tell that his calmness was maintained forcefully.

Brian could totally understand how Wesley was feeling now.

Not long after he married Joanne, he had trouble with her. Joanne ran to City Z in a fit of anger and almost died.

While looking for Joanne at the top of the mountain in the storm, Brian even thought that if something happened to Joanne, he might not be going to leave the mountain.

Before long, Wesley arrived at Lambert Group.

Brian got up, walked to the reception area and sat down. He looked at Wesley coldly and said, "You come to me for finding a way to save Yuna?"

"That's not the most important thing now." Wesley looked serious and cold as if he were facing a formidable enemy. "I need you to intercept a few people."

Brian wore a look of confusion in his cold eyes. "Who?"

"I don't know yet. I need you to check it out." Wesley spoke in a quick and concise manner. "Yuna lied to Rowdy and hid the fact that the child is still alive, but Rowdy knows that there are two blood clots in her brain and is ready to call a doctor for her."

Something flashed across Brian's eyes and he suddenly understood. "Are you afraid that the doctors invited by Rowdy will find that the child is still alive and Yuna will be in danger?"

"Yes." Wesley's cold eyes slowly darkened, and his voice was full of killing intent. "I need you to help prevent these people from crossing the border."

As long as the doctors Larry found could not cross the border, everything would be much easier.

It was a piece of cake for Brian to intercept several people, so he agreed without hesitation. "Leave it to me."

Wesley continued, "Now the problem is that we are not sure which doctors Larry will find."

Brian raised the corner of his lips and said in a casual but firm tone, "I will make a follow-up survey. Not a single one will be left out."

Wesley breathed a sigh of relief and sat down. He relaxed his stiff shoulders a little. "Thank you."

"Just remember that you owe me a favor," Brian said, "and go and do your own business."

Wesley indeed did not have time to stay. He nodded and then left.

Brian put aside the unhandled documents on the desk and began to deal with Wesley's business first.

Wesley's happiness for the rest of his life was more important than the company's business.

Brian made a few phone calls and made arrangements for it. In the end, he assigned tasks to a few of his men.

Next, they just needed to wait to see which doctors Larry would contact, and then would deal with them one by one.

As soon as Brian put down his mobile phone, the secretary knocked on the door and came in. Seeing that the unhandled documents were pilling up like a hill, she said, "Ah, Mr. Brian, you may not be able to get off work on time today."

Since the birth of the two babies, Brian's aura of indifference to others had been much weakened, and the staff in the company occasionally dared to joke with him.

Brian did not say anything, but motioned for his secretary to put down the documents she brought in.

At five o'clock in the afternoon, Brian finished the last document, put on his coat and left the office.

The secretary looked at Brian's back and could only secretly sigh. "Mr. Brian can actually get off work on time? He must be very handsome when he was reading documents seriously just now! Oh my God, my heart..."

Daisy rolled up a magazine and knocked on the secretary's head. "Stop being a fangirl. Even if you're a super fan, Mr. Brian will not belong to us."

The secretary got very disappointed. After a while, as if she had just realized something, she exclaimed in surprise, "Mr. Brian has a wife, but his son doesn't have a girlfriend yet!"

Daisy's mouth twitched and she said, "Damn, Mr. Brian's son is less than three months old. It's so cruel of you to rob the cradle."

The secretary said solemnly, "You don't understand what I mean. I just want to have a daughter and let my daughter date Mr. Brian's son."

"You want a daughter?" Daisy raised her chin slightly and reminded her, "First of all, you need a boyfriend."

"..." The single secretary was frustrated.

After leaving the company, Brian did not go home immediately. Instead, he contacted Chris first and made an appointment with the latter at a clubhouse.

It was inconvenient for him to do something in person.

However, it was convenient for Chris to do that.

After everything was done, Brian and Chris returned to Prime Villas together.

Joanne and Freya were chatting in the living room, and the two babies were lying aside.

Aiden was always quiet and cool, while Romy seemed to feel that her father was back, kicking, waving, and babbling.

Brian did not even have time to take off his coat. He walked over and picked up Romy. The little girl looked at him with her bright eyes for a moment and cried excitedly, "Ah!" Then she turned her head and buried her face in his arms.

Romy laughed out loud as if she had found a harbor to rely on

Brian had been busy all day and he came back with exhaustion. When his daughter smiled in his arms, he only felt that his tiredness was gone, leaving only a touch of softness at the bottom of his heart.

Chris came over and poked Romy on her face. "Give me a hug?"

Romy glanced at Chris, blinked her eyes, and hummed. Then she buried her face in Brian's arms again and seemed to be afraid that Brian would leave, trying her best to hide in Brian's arms.

Chris was so depressed. Was he inferior to Brian? Why didn't Romy want to get close to him as soon as she saw Brian?

Brian saw through Chris's doubts at a glance and did not explain. He just said, "You'll understand why as soon as you have your own daughter."

Chris glanced at Freya and raised his eyebrows. "Soon."

He walked to Freya. "It's late. Let's go back."

It was rare for Freya to obediently get up and leave with Chris.

After getting in the car, Freya suddenly remembered something. She looked at Chris and asked, "Have you had dinner?"

Chris fastened the seat belt for Freya and said, "I ate dinner when I was discussing with Brian."

"Were you talking about the matter between Boss Hayes and Yuna?" Freya asked directly, "Are you sure to save Yuna successfully?"

Chris wanted to give Freya a positive answer so that she could feel at ease.

However, Yuna was in great danger now. Plus her illness... everything was unknown.

Chris patted Freya's head and said, "Don't think too much. Brian and I will find a way to deal with Yuna's matter. You just need to take care of yourself and your baby at ease."

Freya knew that if Chris did not answer her question directly, it meant that even they were not sure to save Yuna successfully.

Was she really going to be received into the Church and pray for Boss Hayes and Yuna?

"Sit tight." Chris turned to look at Freya and reminded her gently, "We're going home."

Freya nodded. Since the car started, she had been staring at Chris all the way.

Chris remembered that when Freya started to pursue him, she also liked to stare at him like this. Even if she was caught gazing at him, she did not avoid it at all.

However, after marriage, Freya seemed to have lost interest in him and rarely stared at him like this.

Chris had asked Freya if her feelings for him were fading away day by day.

Freya explained, "I'm not a pervert. I sleep with you at night and stare at you during the day. Even if you are rare and tasty food, I'll still get tired of you..."

Chris deliberately twisted Freya's meaning and interpreted her words as that Freya was already tired of him. In that evening, he adopted a few different postures and exhausted her. Freya finally could not stand it anymore and begged for mercy, keeping saying that she would never get tired of him.

Even so, Freya rarely stared at him after that.

Chris drove more slowly and turned to look at Freya. "What's wrong?"

Freya supported her chin with one hand, with a casual look. She said with a sigh, "I think it's so difficult for Boss Hayes and Yuna to be together, and we're lucky. So, I'm thinking about whether I should love you more or not in the future..."

"..." Chris did not speak.

Freya looked at Wesley with interest and lifted his straight trousers with her tiptoes. "How about that? Are you tempted?"

Chris narrowed his eyes slightly. There was bottomless darkness in his deep eyes, and no one could read his look.

Freya's scalp tightened. She controlled her wording very well, but how did she offend Chris?

Chris gritted his teeth and asked word by word, "Freya, do you mean that you are still holding back your love for me?"

"..." Freya was just focused on teasing Chris, and she never expected Chris to think that "her love for him is not enough" according to her words.

Damn, this kind of logic was against the rules in games!

Freya coughed and organized her words in her mind, thinking about how to explain this matter.

Before Freya came up with an idea, Chris had continued, "Freya, you are dead meat tonight."

Freya hurriedly covered her belly and asked seriously, "Are you sure to threaten its mother in front of the child?"

Chris sneered and extinguished Freya's hope. "It's useless."

Freya could not help mourning for herself. Tonight, she would not be able to escape.
