Brian suddenly realized that Joanne had to take care of three people by herself.
He kissed Joanne on her forehead and said, "Honey, thank you."
Joanne compressed her lips and showed a faint smile. "I hope Mom can recover soon." After a pause, she continued, "I don't want to see too many people staying in hospital..."
Brian knew that Joanne was talking about Gavin.
At present, no one could be sure if Gavin could recover, and Wendy's fate was in suspense. It was normal for Joanne to worry.
Brian held Joanne in his arms and tried to comfort her as much as possible. "Henry contacted me and said that Gavin is recovering well. He and Noah are preparing for Gavin's surgery."
Joanne knew Brian too well. She could tell at once that Brian's tone sounded unsure.
In other words, Henry and Noah were still not very confident about Gavin's surgery.
However, it was not only Henry and Noah, but also everyone in the medical team would try their best to ensure that Gavin survived the surgery.
The only thing she could do was to believe in Noah, Henry, and the team.
In other words, they would do their best and leave the rest to God.
Joanne nodded and said in a calm voice, "Let's take Mom home first."
By the time Brian and Joanne brought Iris back to Prime Villas, it was already three o'clock in the afternoon.
Iris had insisted on going back to Orchid Gardens. In order to achieve her goal, she even told Brian sincerely, "I can't sleep well at all if I leave the old place."
Joanne's reaction was equally fast and she had the same serious expression as Iris. "Mom, if you go back to Orchid Gardens, Brian and I won't be able to sleep well."
Obviously, Iris did not expect that Joanne would give such a reply. She looked at Joanne in a daze and waited for her to continue.
Joanne unhurriedly explained, "Mom, you haven't fully recovered yet. Some things are not convenient for you. If you live with us, I can take care of you."
Iris replied, "The maid can also take care of me."
"But, the maid can't protect you." Joanne held Iris's hand and continued to persuade her. "Mom, Rowdy is still at large. He is unstable and temperamental. I don't know when he might turn his attention on you again."
The kidnapping was still vivid in Iris's mind, and she still had a lingering fear. After Joanne's words, she remained silent.
Seeing this, Joanne hurriedly said, "Mom, live with us for a while. You can accompany Aiden and Romy there."
When she thought of the two babies, Iris finally did not insist on returning to Orchid Gardens. She nodded and Joanne hurriedly asked Winston to drive the car back to Prime Villas.
As soon as he returned home, Brian received a call from Wesley.
Brian said in a relaxed tone, "What's the matter?"
"I just called to confirm it." Wesley paused and continued, "According to the schedule, the doctors invited by Rowdy for Yuna have arrived at the international airport in Arlington."
Brian smiled and said playfully, "As long as it has something to do with Yuna, you will always be very careful, right?"
It was obvious that Wesley was not in the mood to joke with Brian. He gritted his teeth and said, "I want a positive answer!"
Brian was right. As long as it had something to do with Yuna, he would be very careful and impatient.
If Brian made a mistake, he could not afford to waste any time.
Even if he forced his way into the Kent family and attract the attention of the local police and cause endless problems, he would still go and take Yuna back.
It would be a greater problem for him to leave Yuna in the Kent family than to be investigated by the police.
Brian knew that Wesley was quite frantic, so he stopped teasing him and told him directly, "Don't worry. Those two doctors who planned to arrive today have been detained by the local customs."
Wesley's voice was still doubtful. "Are you sure?"
Brian narrowed his eyes and did not want to answer the question. Instead, he asked, "Wesley, are you underestimating me or overestimating Rowdy?"
Wesley and Brian had known each other for so many years, so he knew Brian well. Brian's words meant that it was really settled.
He stopped talking anymore, hung up the phone, and continued to deal with other affairs.
Brian was too lazy to care about that. He put his phone back into his pocket and helped Iris walk into the house.
Iris could guess from Brian's look when he answered the phone. She asked, "Was it Wesley?"
Brian said, "Yeah, it's him."
Iris asked worriedly, "How's the matter of Wesley and Yuna coming along? Will Yuna be fine in the Kent family?"
"Everything is still under our control. Yuna will be fine for the time being." Brian looked at Iris with a firm and comforting look. "Mom, don't worry."
"That's good." Iris paused and could not help adding, "Brian, it's all thanks to Yuna that I can come back so soon. Anyway, you and Wesley must find a way to bring Yuna back. Otherwise, I won't be at ease for the rest of my life."
Brian promised in a light voice, "Yes, I promise."
Like Brian, Wesley was also very sure about that.
He stood on the balcony of his downtown apartment, holding the mobile phone in his hand and looking in the direction of the old house of the Kent family.
Yuna was right there.
No matter what method he had to use and how much he had to pay, he had to bring Yuna back and let her receive the best treatment and live a carefree and peaceful life.
Otherwise, he would be immersed in guilt and self-blame and unable to be at ease for the rest of his life.
Now, he only hoped that God would give him time.
In the Kent family's old house.
During breakfast in the morning, Rowdy specially tSimon Yuna that the doctors he had arranged for her would arrive in the afternoon, and the other two would also arrive at noon tomorrow.
Yuna pretended to look forward to it and nodded.
After Rowdy left, Yuna quickly went back to her room, opened her email box, and wrote an email which would be sent out at a fixed time.
The email had an attachment which was a copy of the documents she retrieved from Rowdy's computer.
Before 5:30 this afternoon, if she did not voluntarily cancel it, the email would break through the network interception of the Kent family and would be sent to Wesley.
Yuna did this because she thought she might be exposed this afternoon.
If she was really so unlucky to be suspected by Rowdy this afternoon, what awaited her next would definitely not be just inhuman treatment.
The documents she had tried her best to collect would be useless. Wesley would never know what she had experienced in the Kent family.
Now, she wrote an email which would be sent out at a fixed time. If something happened to her, the email would be automatically sent to Wesley. When he saw the email, he might be able to guess her purpose of returning to the Kent family and find a way to bring her back.
Of course, if Rowdy's doctors did not find out the secret of her baby, she would cancel the email.
Otherwise, once the email was sent out, Rowdy would receive a warning from the intercepting program. The clues would point to her, which meant that she would be killed in advance.
However, it seemed that what she should consider at present was how to deal with the doctors invited by Rowdy. She had to at least delay them for a while and buy herself as much time as possible.
It was already noon not long after Rowdy left, and Yuna began to feel uneasy.
However, Emily was very excited. He also knew that the doctors Rowdy arranged for Yuna would be arriving soon.
The little boy felt that there was hope for Yuna to be cured, so he could not stop being happy.
Yuna did not have to accompany him, but he hoped that she could survive.
At four o'clock in the afternoon, the doctors were nowhere to be seen.
Emily gradually became anxious. He pulled Yuna's sleeve from time to time and asked, "Auntie Yuna, didn't Daddy say that those doctors would arrive at about three o'clock? It's already four o'clock now. Where's the doctors? Why haven't they arrived yet?"
Yuna thought for a long time and finally came up with a reasonable explanation, "Maybe it's because of the traffic jam on the road..."
Emily blinked his eyes and innocently reminded Yuna. "Daddy said that the doctors would come by plane. There won't be a traffic jam in the air!"
Yuna didn't say anthing.
Emily pursed his lips and rushed over to Yuna's arm. He shook it and said like a spoiled child, "Auntie Yuna, call Daddy and ask why the doctors are not here yet?"
Yuna really did not want to contact Rowdy because of this. She stretched out a finger and negotiated with the little boy. "Let's wait for another half an hour. If the doctors are still not here, we'll contact Daddy, okay?"
Right at this moment, Rowdy strode hurriedly into the living room, with his usual bloodthirsty and cruel look.
Yuna's heart skipped a beat, and her blood gradually turned cold.
Could it be such a coincidence that the doctors arrived just when they were talking about them?
If the doctors really arrived, how could she delay them and try to hide the secret about her baby while protecting her baby at the same time?
Seeing Rowdy, only Emily was excited.
Emily rushed over and held Rowdy's thigh. "Daddy, Auntie Yuna and I are waiting for the doctors you've arranged!" Then he looked behind Rowdy, but saw no one. He could not help asking, "Daddy, where are the doctors? When will they come?"
Rowdy's well-defined face darkened, and he said in a cold voice, "Don't wait anymore. They're not coming."
Emily seemed to have suffered a heavy blow, and he looked aggrieved and asked, "Why?"
Yuna's first response was surprise.
However, she soon realized that her first response should not be surprise but agitation.
Like Emily, Yuna walked to Rowdy. She clenched her fists and looked at him. "Why didn't they come?"
"Milo!"
Rowdy motioned Milo to come over and tell Yuna the whole story.
