Chapter 101 I Feel Happy for Being Needed

"Mr. Shaw, did something happen?"

"Mr. Shaw, please explain. We media has the right to know the truth."

If it was any other time, Nathan Shaw would be able to shut these people up with a single glance.

But now, his mind was filled with what Lisa had just said. His expression was extremely ugly as he left a group of people behind and quickly left the press conference.

Lisa left the press conference for John Smith and Steven Jones to deal with after exchanging eye contact with John Smith. Then, she followed Nathan Shaw and left.

Nathan Shaw's pace was too fast, and she could barely keep up with him as she ran.

Seeing Nathan Shaw's livid face, Lisa comforted, "Don't worry, President. I'll call the hospital right away."

Her words only made Nathan Shaw more worried. His eyebrows furrowed even more. He called Sierra Moore as he walked, but it was a pity that the other side remained busy tone.

Lisa saw this and said, "When I was at the venue, my phone was on silent mode. I just took it out and saw that more than ten missed calls were from Miss Moore. I guess she must have called me because she couldn't find you."

Nathan Shaw paused and looked at the mobile phone with a flash of cruelty in his eyes.

Lisa's phone rang. She picked it up and quickly said to Nathan Shaw, "President, they have arrived at the company. The car has entered the underground garage. They should be going to your office now."

Hearing this, Nathan Shaw stopped in his tracks. Lisa had already gone over to help him press the elevator button.

When the office door opened, Nathan Shaw saw the person on the sofa. When he saw her sitting there safe and sound, his heart finally calmed down.

When Ken saw him, he immediately stood up, lowered his head, and said, "Boss."

When she heard the sound of the door opening, Sierra Moore suddenly turned her head and looked at the person walking toward her. Tears trickled down her face.

"Nathan Shaw..."

The crying voice made Nathan Shaw's heart clench. He quickly walked over and caught the girl who was pouncing toward him.

"Nathan Shaw, Nathan Shaw."

His girl was already crying, her hands tightly clutching the front of his shirt and her mouth constantly repeating his name as if this was the only way to reduce the fear in her heart.

"He is still alive. He is still alive. He lied to everyone!"

Sierra Moore's words were incoherent. Coldness filled Nathan Shaw's eyes. He looked at Ken coldly. "What happened?"

Ken replied, "Today, Miss went to the school to attend New Natear's day party. She seemed to have met someone in the school. When she came out, she cried and said she wanted to see you, so I sent her to the company."

"There was a car tracking us on the road. We happened to have an accident when we got rid of them. I wanted to send the Miss to the hospital for a check-up first, but she insisted on coming to you."

With just a few words, the matter was clearly explained.

Hearing that they had an accident, Nathan Shaw wanted to see Sierra Moore's injury, but she hugged him too tightly and could not be pulled away. He had to ask Lisa to call George Young and ask him to come over immediately.

Lisa nodded and led Ken out, leaving the place for them.

After they left, Nathan Shaw comforted the girl in his arms, feeling worried. "Sisi, be good. Let go of me first and let me see your injury."

When he finally managed to pull her away a little, he saw the bruises on her face and her red and swollen eyes. Nathan Shaw's heart suddenly ached.

Her hand refused to let go of Nathan Shaw's clothes. The fine abrasions on the back of her hand made the hue in Nathan Shaw's eyes darken.

When she was bullied by him, Sierra Moore had never cried so sadly.

In Nathan Shaw's heart, he had already sentenced the person who hurt her to death.

He thought to himself, "Damn it! Who dares to hurt my girl?"

Just as his eyes lit up with cold flames, he heard the person in his arms say, "I met my uncle today. He said he wasn't the one, but I didn't believe it. How could I not recognize him?"

Sierra Moore raised her head in his arms and looked at him with tears in her eyes. "We have lived together for so many years. I can't misrecognize him. Nathan Shaw, what do you think I should do?"

"Are you talking about Ethan Quinn, the son-in-law who once married into the Moore Famiy'?" Nathan Shaw's expression changed.

"He is obviously dead. When I met you six years ago, the servants at home informed me to come back to deal with aunt's funeral." Sierra Moore nodded.

"Don't cry yet. Tell me what happened. How can a dead person still be alive?" Nathan Shaw wiped away the tears on her face, feeling worried.

Sierra Moore told him about how she had met Maxwell Davis at school today. She cried as she spoke, "Aunt loved that man so much. How can he let her be alone in the tomb?"

She was crying until she was gasping for breath. She kept hugging Nathan Shaw and was unwilling to let go. "Nathan Shaw, can you help me? You are the only one who can help me now."

Seeing her sad face, Nathan Shaw felt his heart full of numbing pain. He directly put her on his lap and comforted her in a gentle voice. "I will send someone to investigate this matter immediately. Don't cry anymore. I'm afraid your body can't afford it."

Her face was abnormally red, and her eyes were swollen into slits. This made Nathan Shaw a little worried.

"Sisi, be good. You are too tired and need to rest."

"Nathan Shaw..." Perhaps it was because he was by her side that the fear in Sierra Moore's heart slowly calmed down. She leaned into his arms and fell into a deep sleep.

In a half-asleep state, she tightly held his clothes and muttered, "Nathan Shaw, don't ignore me from now on, and don't refuse to pick up my call any more, okay?"

After Sierra Moore fell asleep, Nathan Shaw carried her into the inner lounge.

When he went out, he happened to bump into George Young, who was not far from there. George Young rushed over immediately after receiving a call from Lisa.

George Young went in to see Sierra Moore. Because she was asleep, there was no way to know her specific situation. However, according to Ken's narration, it should only be a slight injury.

The key problem was still her leg. If it was hurt again, she would probably be sent back to the hospital.

"Her legs are fine."

George Young put down her trousers and turned to Nathan Shaw, saying to him, "The bruises on her face and arms should have been caused by the car collision. I think there should be some on her body too. Go home and help her apply some medicine."

He got up and stepped aside. Nathan Shaw walked to the bedside and helped Sierra Moore cover the quilt.

George Young packed up his medical kit while observing Nathan Shaw. By the look on Nathan Shaw's frozen face, it could be seen that he was really angry.

It was just a pity that George Young, a cardiac surgeon, was now falling to the point where he had to treat bruises, headaches, and fevers.

After packing up the medical kit, George Young reminded him, "When she wakes up, it's best to take her to the hospital for a detailed examination. After all, being hit on the head is not a small matter."

Nathan Shaw looked at the bruises on her head and his eyes turned cold again.

After George Young finished speaking, he went out. Since no one greeted him, he went to the reception and poured himself a cup of hot tea. As soon as he sat down, he saw Nathan Shaw come out. The anger on his face had not disappeared.

"When will she wake up?"

Nathan Shaw was very angry like a dragon being disturbed!

"Don't worry, she's just too tired. Let her have a good rest and apply some medicine to her wounds. She'll be fine very soon," George Young said, pointing at the sofa to let Nathan Shaw sit down.

Nathan Shaw thought to himself, "You won't feel sorry for her unless she's your woman?"

"I will make those people pay the price!" Nathan Shaw glanced at George Young coldly and walked over expressionlessly.

After knowing Nathan Shaw for so long, George Young naturally knew his personality very well. He would naturally not let go of those who offended his people easily.

George Young asked as he put down the teacup and pushed up his glasses out of habit, "Do you know who did it?"

Nathan Shaw shook his head. "At the moment, we can't be sure if the person is targeting me or her!"

Originally, Sierra Moore had just returned to the country, so logically speaking, no one would come looking for trouble with her. However, the person that she said she had seen today was indeed suspicious.

When Ken was called in, his hand was already wrapped in bandages. It was when the window of the driver's seat was broken that he was accidentally scratched by the glass.

Of course, he knew the purpose of Nathan Shaw calling him in, so he told Nathan Shaw everything that happened today in detail, starting from when Sierra Moore went out in the morning.

After Nathan Shaw heard this, he remained silent. His fingers tapped rhythmically against his knees. His expression was cold. It was unknown what he was thinking.

After a while, he ordered, "Ken, immediately get someone to check the information about Moore Clan's bankruptcy six years ago, and the person Sierra Moore saw at school today. Find out his background."

"Nates, boss."

After Ken left, Lisa knocked on the door and came in. "President, something happened at the press conference. Some media suspected that you left because of the financial crisis in the company. But now, Mr. Jones is handling it."

Hearing Lisa's words, Nathan Shaw looked over with cold eyes. He thought to himself, "Today's press conference was supposed to be a surprise for someone, but it is a pity that someone has been frightened now."

He stood up from the sofa and glanced at George Young. The latter nodded knowingly and said, "You do what you need to do. I'll leave after sitting for a while."

Nathan Shaw nodded at him and turned to Lisa, saying to her, "Go to the venue and cooperate with Mr. Jones."

When Lisa arrived at the press conference, the media handed her a microphone. "Miss Lisa, may I ask why Mr. Xiao suddenly left the press conference?"

"May I ask whether Mr. Xiao takes no count of the press conference?"

"Did something happen inside the group?"

Lisa had been with Nathan Shaw for so long, and her aura was still very strong. She said with a smile, "Everyone, please calm down. The company will answer your questions. Now, please let me go first."

She walked over and exchanged glances with John Smith. She could see the helplessness in his eyes, and Lisa felt rather helpless as well.

Lisa thought to herself, "It is not a big deal of leaving halfway. Is there a need to make such a ruckus?"

This was what journalism was like. These reporters immediately exaggerated it when they encountered something.

Although the media was very concerned about the reason for Nathan Shaw's sudden departure, it was a pity that they could not dig out any valuable news from Lisa, so there was no definite answer until the end of the press conference.

Until the end of the press conference, Nathan Shaw did not appear again.

After the press conference ended, Steven Jones and Lisa went back to the office to report their work to Nathan Shaw, leaving John Smith to deal with the media who still had questions.
