Chapter 13 See Jack Lee Again

The atmosphere of this meal was very silent.

Time passed bit by bit, and the atmosphere gradually solidified.

Seeing that they had almost finished eating, Sierra Moore got up and went to the bathroom. If she stayed any longer, she was afraid that she would suffocate to death, but she did not notice the deep meaning in the eyes behind her.

As soon as Sierra Moore left, Frederick Latham's phone rang.

He looked at the screen. He was obviously surprised to receive a call from the other party at this time. As soon as he picked up the call, he heard the other party's voice, which seemed to have a hint of banter.

"I heard that you were on a blind date?"

Frederick Latham took his phone away and looked at the screen. He obviously suspected that he had heard wrong. He looked outside and said, "Why is Mr. Lucas concerned about my private affairs?"

The other party was a little surprised, "You're still in the mood to joke around at this time? Looks like you're very satisfied with the date this time?"

Thinking of Sierra Moore's confused and awkward appearance, Frederick Latham couldn't help but laugh. He said noncommittally, "Not bad. An interesting girl."

The other party obviously did not expect him to say that. After a moment of silence, he asked him again, "Dude, you can't be serious, right? When did you start to like this kind of girl?"

"Eh? Why do I feel that there is something hidden in your words?" After saying it, Frederick Latham thought to himself, "And from what he said, it must be that he knew Sierra Moore, or did he see me?"

Frederick Latham's slender eyes swept around, but he did not see anyone. It could be that James Lucas had heard something from Sophie Lucas.

At this time, there weren't too many people in the restaurant, but the gazes that looked over from time to time made him frown.

Young Master Lan leaned on the sofa and said, "Don't tell me that you've taken a fancy to her. We're brothers. If you really like her, I won't fight with you as long as you tell me."

"Get lost!" James's face was darkened. "I haven't even seen that woman before. I don't like to play romance in this way."

Frederick Latham lit a cigarette, "Then there's no more reason for you to stop me. You have to know that this woman was introduced to me by your crazy girl. I have to give her face."

"If you have the guts, why don't you try calling her crazy girl in front of her?"

Frederick Latham pursed his lips and stopped talking.

James Lucas said, "Alright, I won't talk nonsense with you. There are some things that you don't know. It's just a reminder from a friend. The woman in front of you is already taken. Moreover, he has great influence here. You can just deal with her casually. Don't really fall in love with her!"

Sierra Moore washed her face with cold water to calm herself down. She had just come back and caused such big trouble. Now that her work and house had not been settled, it was not the time to talk about love.

Since she had no intention in her heart, she felt it was better to make it clear to him earlier so as not to disappoint him.

She thought to herself, "It is a pity that I will let Sophie Lucas down, and with her fiery temper, I might have to spend a lot of time and effort to comfort her later."

At the thought of Sophie Lucas's personality, Sierra Moore had a headache. If Sophie Lucas knew that Sierra Moore was so uncooperative, she would definitely go berserk on the spot!

When she came out of the bathroom, because she was thinking about something, she didn't pay attention to it when she walked and was almost knocked down by someone at the turn.

"Sorry, sorry, I didn't notice when I was walking. Are you okay?" Because of her own carelessness during walking, Sierra Moore apologized immediately.

The other party was hit for no reason, and her face was a little unhappy, but people were coming and going here, so it was not good to flare up, so she said, "Forget it. Be careful when you walk next time!"

After saying that, she walked past Sierra Moore to leave, but she subconsciously looked up at her. It was this glance that made her stop.

Coincidentally, Sierra Moore also looked up at her. Their eyes met. One dodged the other party's gaze, while the other was surprised.

"Eh? Aren't you Emily Mason?" Sierra Moore greeted her in surprise, "It's been a long time since we last met. Do you still remember me? I'm Sierra Moore!"

Unexpectedly, when Emily Mason saw her, she acted as if she had seen a ghost. She pushed her hands away and said awkwardly, "Sorry, you mistook me for someone else."

Sierra Moore still wanted to ask more questions, but Emily Mason had already left quickly.

Although Sierra Moore had been away for many years, she was confident that she would not mistake her former friend.

However, she was not a stubborn one. Since she pretended not to know her, she did not want to bother her.

Just as Sierra Moore was about to leave, she kicked something under her feet. She looked down and saw that it was a brooch. It should have fallen when she had bumped into Emily Mason just now, so she picked it up. When she turned back, she could no longer see Emily Mason.

After looking around, she didn't know whether she should look for her or not, but judging from the meaning of the other party just now, looking for her would be a wasted effort.

Sierra Moore thought that she might as well hand the thing over to the waiter. Emily Mason would definitely look for the thing she lost. As long as she handed the thing over to the staff in the restaurant, they would naturally return it to Emily Mason's hands.

Sierra Moore had already left for a long time. She was afraid that Frederick Latham would be unhappy, so she planned to go back. However, she suddenly heard footsteps behind her. When she turned around, she saw Emily Mason hurrying over with an anxious expression on her face. Emily Mason seemed to be looking for something.

Emily Mason seemed to have not expected Sierra Moore to still be here, but she soon saw the brooch in Sierra Moore's hand. Her expression changed and she reached out to ask for it, "Give me to me."

Her rude tone made Sierra Moore feel very uncomfortable. Sierra Moore didn't want to stay any longer, so she returned the brooch to Emily Mason. Just as she was about to turn around and leave, she heard a voice coming from behind Emily Mason.

"Emily, why have you been gone for so long?"

The voice was so familiarso familiarthat she wondered if she was imagining it.

Not noticing Emily Mason's pale face, Sierra Moore slowly turned around, wanting to take a look at the owner of the voice.

Just as Sierra Moore turned around, Emily Mason had already reacted. She hurriedly pulled the person away, causing that man to be a little confused. The man even asked her what had happened.

Even so, Sierra Moore still saw the appearance of the coming man. That face was so familiar to her that she opened her mouth and called out the familiar name, "Jackie?"

Emily Mason was terrified. The strength of her hands was blocked. She saw that Jack Lee had stopped. He did not turn around, but the complicated expression on his face was enough to make Emily Mason worry.

After being separated from him for such a long time, Sierra Moore had never thought of meeting him in such a situation. Seeing that he did not move, she did not give up and shouted again, "Jackie, is that you?"

This time, he heard it clearly. Jack Lee slowly turned around and did not notice the expression of the Emily beside him. He unconsciously walked closer to her and said to her, "Are you calling me?"

After six years of not seeing Jack Lee again, Sierra Moore felt a myriad of emotions in her heart. She looked at him with red eyes. "It really is you. I was afraid that I was mistaken since we haven't seen each other for too long."

These words were somewhat desolate. While he was looking at her, Jack Lee's strange gaze made her feel even more uncomfortable. She thought to herself, "Has he already forgotten me during these years?"

Jack Lee looked at Sierra Moore and could not tell what he was feeling.

This person was once a treasure that he held in his hands, the girl that he swore to protect for his entire life. But now, in front of him, she seemed completely unfamiliar.

Jack Lee had been looking at Sierra Moore the whole time. There were some complex and incomprehensible doubts in his eyes. This made Emily Mason very uncomfortable. She reached out to hold his hands. "Jack, I suddenly feel uncomfortable. Let's go back!"

When his hands were held, Jack Lee seemed to have been scalded and subconsciously shook her hands off.

Emily, her hands flung away, had a face full of injuries. She looked at Jack Lee in disbelief, thinking to herself, "This woman has already left for so long. Could he still not forget her?"

Only then did Sierra Moore notice that the relationship between the two of them was unusual. She looked at Jack Lee with some uncertainty, "Jackie, you two?"

Seeing the blank expression on Jack Lee's face, Emily Mason had an idea in her heart. She immediately grabbed his arm and pledged their relationship, "We are now together."

"Together? You?"

Sierra Moore looked at Emily Mason in disbelief, then she looked at Jack Lee as if asking him for confirmation, "Jackie, is what she said true?"

Sierra Moore's words of calling him Jackie were so natural that they made Emily Mason very uncomfortable.

Jack Lee's performance especially made Emily Mason feel as if she was facing a great enemy.

Everyone knew how he doted on that girl back then. Now that Sierra Moore had returned, how could Emily Mason not worry?

Jack Lee was even more puzzled than Sierra Moore. He asked the woman beside him, "Emily, who is this person? Why does she call me Jackie?"

"Jackie, you don't remember me?" Sierra Moore looked at Jack Lee in disbelief.

"Who are you? Should I remember you?" Jack Lee asked, looking at Sierra Moore in confusion.

These words were too hurtful. Sierra Moore's eyes turned red in an instant. She opened her mouth but did not know what to say. Her lips moved and she finally asked, "Jackie, do you really not remember me?"

These words seemed to have exhausted all of her strength. Looking at the confusion and loss on Jack Lee's face, Sierra Moore shifted her gaze to Emily Mason on the side.

"You know what happened, right? Why did Jackie forget me?"

Sierra Moore had also fantasized about reuniting with Jack Lee, but she had not expected such a result.

Originally, she wanted to ask him why he refused to listen to her explanation back then.

Why did he leave at her most painful and most difficult time?

Why didn't he come to find her?

Why did he give up their ten-year relationship so easily?

But now that things had come to this, there was no point in saying anything. Her former lover had already forgotten her, and he had gotten together with her former friend. It turned out that she had already been excluded.

Jack Lee also looked at Emily Mason as if he wanted to hear what she wanted to say.

Both of them looked over, causing Emily Mason's heart to skip a beat.

Emily Mason thought that the more she said, the more mistakes she would make. When she saw that Jack Lee was already suspicious, she was so afraid that her scalp went numb. She quickly hugged his arm and said, "Jack, I feel very uncomfortable. Let's go back, okay?"

Jack Lee lowered his head to look at her. Her face was abnormally pale, and it looked like she was feeling unwell.

However, he did not want to leave just like that. He looked at Sierra Moore with many questions in his heart.

Just as Jack Lee was about to speak, he saw a person walk over from the other side of the corridor. The man's gaze flashed as he looked at Sierra Moore, and the questions Jack Lee was about to ask were forcefully suppressed by him.

As Frederick Latham walked over, his gaze swept over the three of them before stopping on Sierra Moore. His lips curled into a smile, "Sierra, so you are here."
