Chapter 142 A Strong Aura

While they were playing mahjong, Xiao Jasper and Felix Waston, Victoria Shaw's husband, were chatting with the Old Master. The atmosphere in the living room was harmonious.

Victoria Shaw and Felix Waston could be considered to be well-matched. They had a cute pigeon pair. Their son was called Ronan Waston, and their daughter was called Dorian Waston.

Although they were twins and one was born half a minute later than the other, their appearances and personalities were not alike. One was calm and sensible, while the other was quick-witted and smart.

In the yard, Dorian Waston was pestering Steven Jones to set off fireworks together. Ronan Waston and Ryan Holland were bored and stayed in the house to watch TV. Nathan Shaw and George Young stood on the balcony on the third floor, watching the two children messing around in the yard.

After a while, George Young broke the silence. "Why did your Uncle Shaw suddenly come back?"

"I just found it out." Nathan Shaw flicked the cigarette ash on his fingertips. Since a long time ago, he liked to watch the smoke curling around his fingertips.

"Don't move. Don't break it." In the courtyard downstairs, two childish people were fighting for the last firework.

Because of the advantage of long legs and arms, Steven Jones raised the fireworks and ran away. The little princess of the Waston Family chased after him and shouted, "Steven Jones! I am a girl, so you have to give in to me."

Although Dorian's words were very reasonable, they would not work when it came to Steven Jones.

He said shamelessly, "In my entire life, it has always been someone else who gave in to me. How can I give in to others?"

He was not lying. Ever since he was young, there had always been someone by his side who shielded him from the wind and rain.

When he was naughty, that person could help him take the blame. When he got into trouble and was punished by the elders, that person would quietly come to deliver food to him in the middle of the night.

All the difficulties and troubles in front of that person would become very simple. That person was like a loyal knight, guarding his prince slowly growing up.

The two people who were enjoying the wind upstairs couldn't help but laugh when they heard what Steven Jones said.

Nathan Shaw asked, "You haven't told him yet?"

George Young shook his head with a bitter smile. "There is no chance. Every time I want to talk about it, I find that the timing is wrong. Sometimes I feel that he actually knows."

George Young thought to himself, "Perhaps!"

Nathan Shaw looked at a certain someone who had gone crazy playing in the yard and thought of the sad face of Sierra Moore. He thought to himself, "Who said that a little fool could not be smart?"

"Don't talk about me." George Young lifted the hair that flew into his eyes.

"Your Uncle Shaw suddenly came back this time, and you didn't get any news beforehand. It's obvious that he came prepared. You now feel easy letting Sierra Moore stay with him. Aren't you afraid that he will go crazy one day?"

"I'll talk to him," Nathan Shaw said as he put out his cigarette and threw it on the ground.

This kind of matter could only be handled by himself. George Young sighed, patted him on the shoulder, and said, "If you need anything, just let me know."

the Shaw Family had always had the rules of staying up late for the New Natear. However, in the past two years, Samuel Shaw's health had been deteriorating steadily. It was only until eleven o'clock that he could no longer hold on. Arthur helped him back to his room to rest.

The others were still playing and eating. According to the usual practice of previous years, they had to wait until the bell rang in the early morning before they could go back to sleep.

Sierra Moore had never slept so late before. She was already extremely sleepy and her eyes were as red as those of a real rabbit.

When Nathan Shaw came over, she rubbed her eyes in a daze. She had almost lost all the lucky money that Samuel Shaw had given her.

Seeing Nathan Shaw come over, Ronan Waston, who was sitting next to Sierra Moore, immediately gave way to him and joked, "Eldest Cousin, please save my cousin-in-law! Tonight, she was the only player to lose money."

Iris May smiled and continued, "What Ronan said is wrong. It was clearly your Uncle Shaw won alone."

Arthur Shaw did not say a few words throughout the night. At this time, he was somehow interested. His feminine eyes swept around and he said, "It's not that I don't want you to win. I just put the money here. Whoever has the ability tonight will take it."

After he finished speaking, he even gave Sierra Moore a special look. Unfortunately, Sierra Moore was too sleepy to notice that. Nathan Shaw, who was beside her, did not even bat an eyelid.

"Alright then." Victoria Shaw was not convinced. She slapped the table and the mahjong tiles were about to fly. "This is what you said. When the time comes, don't be unconvinced when you lose all of it."

Arthur Shaw smiled and shook his head, not saying a word.

Xiao Jasper, who was sitting next to Victoria Shaw, looked at his Uncle Shaw and said with a smile, "Sister-in-law's luck is not good tonight. The lucky money that grandfather gave her has all been lost."

Sierra Moore had a distressed expression. As she saw Nathan Shaw, she pulled him for help as if she saw a savior. "Nathan Shaw, what should I do? My money is about to be lost."

This pitiful look made Mr. Shaw's heart itch. Thinking of a certain someone crying and begging for mercy on the bed not long ago, Mr. Shaw felt his heart immediately beat furiously.

After that day, because he was afraid of stimulating Sierra Moore's mood, Nathan Shaw had been enduring not to touch her. Tonight was a good opportunity, and he could not waste his time here.

As for losing money, Mr. Shaw did not care about it at all.

He thought to himself, "If my wife does not squander, who would I make money for?"

But from what they said, it seemed like they were going to stay up all night.

While Nathan Shaw calculated in his heart, he could still command Sierra Moore to play mahjong. After adjusting the tiles in her hands a few times, he also naturally asked her to release a few deceiving tricks, and she actually won the game.

Sierra Moore finally won the first round of the night. She was so happy that she shook Nathan Shaw's arm. "We won! Nathan Shaw, you are so awesome!"

Nathan Shaw thought to himself, "This idiot. Just a moment ago she was so tired that her eyes were almost unable to open, but now she was in high spirits."

Nathan Shaw felt worried for the dark circles under her eyes. He rubbed her head and asked, "Are you tired? Do you want me to send you back to rest?"

In fact, Sierra Moore had long wanted to go back to rest. She was already so sleepy that her eyelids were fighting. However, Samuel Shaw said that this was the first time she spent New Natear's Eve with the Shaw Family. He wanted her to count down on New Natear.

She looked up at the clock hanging on the wall. It was only 11:20 p.m. The time was so slow, but she was really sleepy!

Sierra Moore rubbed her eyes and tried her best to open her eyes wide. "I'm not sleepy yet. I'll sleep later."

She was clearly extremely sleepy, yet she still insisted on trying to prove it.

Nathan Shaw sighed, got up to change seats with her, and announced in a domineering manner, "I'll do it. You sit at the side and watch."

"Oh!" Sierra Moore had no interest in mahjong, so she happily changed seats with him and sat next to him to watch him play.

As soon as Nathan Shaw joined, the atmosphere at the mahjong table completely changed.

He won by his own draw a few times in a row, and all of them were grand slams. Nathan Shaw quickly won back the money Sierra Moore had lost for a night, and it was a double win.

Sierra Moore was extremely excited. She sat at the side and counted the money. She even occasionally commanded, "Nathan Shaw, discard this, discard this, quickly discard this."

For a person who had never won in mahjong, Nathan Shaw naturally would not listen to her words.

However, Sierra Moore was spoiled by him to a point of arrogance. When he refused to listen, she simply reached out to take the tile. Before Nathan Shaw could stop her, the tile had already been discarded by her.

Although Sierra Moore was obviously making trouble, she was making trouble for Nathan Shaw, so Victoria Shaw and Iris May were very happy to see it.

However, Arthur Shaw, who had not spoken much for the entire night, could not help but look at Sierra Moore a few more times.

With Sierra Moore causing trouble, Mr. Shaw's luck in money dissipated, and the tiles he discarded were claimed by others several times in a row.

After losing a few rounds, Nathan Shaw finally couldn't help but say to Sierra Moore, "Sisi, are you hungry? I just saw Margaret and the others making dumplings in the kitchen."

"There are dumplings to eat!" She was feeling hungry right now!

Seeing that her eyes instantly lit up by eight degrees, Nathan Shaw slightly smiled, "There are also Christmas pudding. Go to the kitchen and see what kind of fillings you like to eat. In a while, let Margaret cook a few more for you."

"Oh, I'll go now." Sierra Moore didn't care which tile he was going to discard. She turned around and went to the kitchen to discuss with Margaret about dumplings and Christmas pudding.

As soon as Sierra Moore left, Mr. Shaw's aura returned.

His tiles were directly pulled down, all of which were bamboo tiles in seven pairs. And they were all self-drawn.

Iris May and Victoria Shaw looked at each other, the corners of their mouths twitching. Arthur Shaw shifted his gaze from mahjong to Nathan Shaw's face. The smile on the corner of Arthur Shaw's mouth was thought-provoking.

Speaking of which, Mr. Shaw was really good at playing mahjong. As soon as Sierra Moore left, he even won three rounds in a row.

After a few times, the smile on Iris May's face froze. She couldn't take it anymore and simply invited Xiao Jasper to replace her. She and Dorian went to watch the Spring Festival Gala.

Not long after, Margaret got someone to bring the dumplings and Christmas pudding over. Victoria Shaw took the opportunity to get off the mahjong table to rest. She let her husband replace her and went to eat the dumplings herself.

The entire family spent the night in a lively manner, and it could be considered to be a joyous occasion.

When the bell rang in the early morning, and fireworks bloomed on TV, the firecrackers sounded one after another outside the house, signaling the arrival of a new year.

No one cared about the mess in the living room. Everyone was waiting for someone to clean it up tomorrow and everyone went back to their homes.

Because it was already very late, Victoria Shaw's family simply stayed in the House of the Shaws's house. Margaret had already arranged for people to clean up the rooms.

Sierra Moore was a standard foodie. She ate, slept, and ate again.

After eating Christmas pudding, she couldn't hold up and she fell asleep on the sofa. When people left the room, Nathan Shaw tried to wake her up but failed, so he had to carry her back.

At the door, he met Arthur Shaw, who was also going back to rest.

"Nate."

Arthur Shaw seemed to be deliberately waiting for Nathan Shaw to come out. Arthur Shaw raised his leg and wanted to walk over, but he stood there hesitantly. The expression in his eyes was a little strange.

There was no one else here. Nathan Shaw didn't even call him Uncle Shaw. Nathan Shaw gave him a cold look and turned to leave with Sierra Moore in his arms.

"Nate, I mean no harm. I just want to talk to you," Arthur Shaw said, following him reflexively.

"How long do you plan to stay this time?" Nathan Shaw stopped and turned to look at him.

This sentence might be a basic greeting to others, but when it came out of Nathan Shaw's mouth, he was clearly asking Arthur Shaw when he would leave.

Arthur Shaw's eyes darkened for a moment. When he raised his eyes, his gaze fell on the person in Nathan Shaw's arms. "Fortunately, I have a business in New York to discuss, so I will stay longer this time."

After speaking that, he switched the topic to Sierra Moore. "You've been back for so long, but I haven't congratulated you yet."
