Chapter 31 A Sincere Apology

This time, Nathan Shaw finally raised his head and looked at her without answering. "Didn't you say that the shooting would only be finished at the end of the month? Why did you suddenly come back?"

Although she knew that he was deliberately trying to change the topic, no one could force Nathan Shaw to speak out about what he did not want to say.

Avery Yates was a smart woman and naturally would not do anything that annoyed him.

Since Nathan Shaw asked about it, Avery Yates explained it to him, saying that it was to cooperate with other jobs, so the filming ended early.

Nathan Shaw nodded and did not ask any further.

Avery Yates looked at him with a complicated expression.

When she was abroad, Avery Yates had heard of all kinds of abnormal behaviors about Nathan Shaw. At that time, she did not care about it.

Later, someone told her that Nathan Shaw brought a woman home from Dark Night.

At first, she did not believe it, but the story seemed to be reasonable. Moreover, the sudden return of Nathan Shaw to his home country at that time also made her feel strange.

Since she had doubts, she naturally had to find someone to confirm, so she called Steven Jones to ask about it.

She hurriedly ended filming and returned to the home country to confirm it herself.

Yesterday, she deliberately took an earlier flight back to avoid media and fans.

As soon as she got off the plane, she called Nathan Shaw. She did not expect that it was a woman who answered the phone.

At first, she thought the she was a secretary of Nates company, but it was obviously not the case.

At the thought of the words she heard over the phone, Avery Yates's face turned gloomy. She thought to herself, "Under what circumstances would a woman not wear shoes? She must be on the bed, and it must be Nathan Shaw's bed!"

"By the way, I talked to Elsa on the phone a few days ago. She said that she would return home at the end of the month." After Avery Yates finished speaking, she looked at Nathan Shaw as if she wanted to see his reaction.

However, Nathan Shaw didn't have any extra reaction. He didn't even give her a glance. Avery Yates was smart and didn't say anything more. She turned to talk to Steven Jones about the company.

Seeing the fatigue on Avery Yates's face, Steven Jones said, "You just came back today. You might as well rest for two days before going to the company."

Regarding Mr. Jones's consideration, Avery Yates would not refuse. She just glanced at Nathan from time to time as she spoke Steven Jones. Unfortunately, Nathan had been looking at his mobile phone and had not noticed her.

Thinking of the phone call just now, Avery Yates had suspicions deep in her heart.

She knew that there were many women by Nathan Shaw's side, but she had never been worried because she knew Nathan Shaw well and knew that he would never fancy those women.

However, it was the first time that he could leave his business behind and return to the country in a hurry.

After she had been by Nathan Shaw's side for so many years, this was the first time she felt a sense of crisis in her heart.

After chatting with Steven Jones for a while, Avery Yates suddenly remembered something and asked him, "I heard that the company has recruited a group of high-end jewelry designers. When did you become interested in the jewelry market?"

"Not bad. Avery, you are really well-informed!"

Steven Jones held a cigarette in one hand and a wine glass in the other, guiding the question to Nathan Shaw, "Then you have to ask our Mr. Shaw."

This project just started a few days ago, and Mr. Shaw suddenly said that the company was going to enter the jewelry market without any warning at all.

With Nathan Shaw's order, the company immediately became busy. Steven Jones did not know whatNathan was thinking.

However, he believed that the answer would be revealed soon.

Nathan Shaw did not intend to explain to them. At this time, the phone rang, and he almost picked it up in an urgent mood.

Lisa's voice came from the receiver, and as if she was reporting her work, she said with a straight face, "Mr. Shaw, Miss Moore just called and said that she wanted to meet me."

"Well." Nathan Shaw replied. There was still no expression on his face. He just reminded her, "Call me when the matter is over."

After meeting Lisa, Sierra Moore went to the garage with the key. The car that she had forgotten in the shopping mall had also been sent back, so she drove it out again.

She had no other options because it was so remote that it was difficult to even get a taxi.

Lisa immediately sacrificed her rest time to meet Sierra Moore after asking the President's permission.

There was an old-fashioned Hong Kong-style teahouse near Skyreach Corporation.

Since Lisa was close to it, she had arrived early and was sitting by the window, holding a cup of hot tea in her hand and looking sideways at the street view outside.

Perhaps it was because of her unique temperament, but just sitting there quietly made people could not help but want to look at her more.

When Sierra Moore pushed open the door and entered, she saw Lisa at first glance. She greeted her warmly, "Hi, Lisa!"

Sierra Moore walked over and sat down opposite Lisa, saying in embarrassment, "I hope I didn't delay your work when I suddenly called you out, did I?"

"No." Lisa shook her head and smiled elegantly. She took the initiative to pour Sierra Moore a cup of tea and asked, "I wonder why Miss Moore is in such a hurry to find me?"

"Actually, I came to find you for Mr. Shaw," said Sierra Moore, embarrassed.

If not for Nathan Shaw, how could Sierra Moore take the initiative to find her?

Lisa understood and nodded. "Miss Moore, what do you want to say?"

Sierra Moore had no clue at all. She just felt that she needed to find someone around Nathan Shaw to understand his habits so that she could find the right solution to the problem.

So she asked Lisa, "You are his secretary, so you must know him very well. Can you tell me what kind of person Mr. Shaw is?"

Lisa gave a knowing smile and said, "Since Miss Moore wants to know about our President, why don't you ask him yourself?"

Seeing Lisa's misunderstanding expression, Sierra Moore quickly waved her hand and explained, "No, no. I don't want to know about him, but..."

Sierra Moore was also half aware of that previous matter and did not know what to say. After a long while, she only said one sentence, "Actually, I seem to have done something wrong today."

Lisa thought to herself, "I know that the President would not come to the company for no reason. It turns out to be because of her."

Looking at Sierra Moore's annoyed expression, Lisa couldn't help but think to herself, "What exactly made her come all the way here to ask for help?"

Seeing Lisa looking at her thoughtfully, Sierra Moore told her about how she had angered Nathan Shaw in the morning. Of course, she had omitted the part where she was drunk. She thought to herself, "If Lisa knew that Mr. Shaw has been forced last night, wouldn't it be dreadful?"

After listening to what Sierra Moore said, Lisa made an organized summary clearly. "So the President is angry because you accidentally picked up his call, and it was a call from a woman?"

Sierra Moore nodded and then lowered her head. Like a primary school student who had done something wrong, she waited uneasily for her teacher to criticize her.

Lisa's smile was unpredictable. In fact, according to her understanding of Mr. Shaw, he would never be angry because of this reason. Lisa thought that it seemed that Sierra Moore still had some things not to tell her yet.

As a qualified secretary, Lisa would not inquire about the President's privacy, but she had already guessed the woman who called Nathan Shaw.

Thinking of the relationship between that woman and the President, Lisa was a little embarrassed and did not know if she should tell Sierra Moore.

Seeing Lisa remain silent, Sierra Moore thought that the matter was serious, and her expression became even more gloomy.

"I know that I was wrong in this matter. I really wanted to apologize to him, so I came to you for help. Nathan Shaw is my creditor. If he is unhappy, my days will be doomed."

Lisa lowered her head and smiled when she saw Sierra Moore staring at her. She suddenly understood why Mr. Shaw had gone through so much trouble to keep Sierra Moore by his side. This woman was so pure and cute.

"Actually..." As soon as Lisa spoke, Sierra Moore immediately sat up straight with an expression of anticipation.

Lisa originally wanted to say that she actually didn't know what to do. However, when she saw Sierra Moore's eager eyes, she suddenly couldn't bring herself to say the words that would disappoint Sierra Moore.

The cold face of Mr. Shaw appeared now in her mind. Lisa thought that as a qualified secretary, it was also one of her work to share the burden of the President. If the President kept skipping work like this, she would also be in a pickle.

Lisa thought for a moment and said to Sierra Moore, "It is not difficult for the President to accept your apology."

Lisa then told Sierra Moore about Nathan Shaw's daily life habits, including the things he liked and disliked to do, and she finally concluded, "Mr. Shaw doesn't like others to disobey him."

Sierra Moore remembered Lisa's words very seriously. Finally, Sierra Moore held her hand gratefully. "Lisa, thank you for your help today. Otherwise, I wouldn't know what to do."

When it was time to pay the bill, Sierra Moore insisted on treating Lisa. A while back, Sierra Moore went to the bank on the way and had already replaced a new bank card with the lost one. Now, she could be considered to have a small number of assets.

Lisa stood by the side of the road and watched Cayenne drive away, but in her heart, she was thinking, "Is it really good for me to just sell Mr. Shaw out like this?"

It was naturally not good to betray the President, but if this matter was personally approved by him, then the situation would naturally be different.

Lisa felt that Nathan Shaw had spent a lot of effort on Sierra Moore.

According to what Lisa said, if Sierra Moore wanted to apologize to Nathan Shaw, she had to show a hundred percent sincerity. Therefore, on the way back, Sierra Moore had been thinking about it.

"What exactly should I do to show my sincerity?"

When the car passed by a cake shop on the roadside, Sierra Moore suddenly had an idea.

"Hello, I want a cake." Sierra said to the owner.

When it was dark, Nathan Shaw had not yet returned.

Sierra Moore thought about what Lisa said during the day. Since she needed to make a sincere apology, she decided to wait for him to come back and have a good talk with him.

After taking a shower, Sierra Moore lay on the bed and played with her mobile phone. After she played for a while, sleepiness gradually came to her. In the end, she couldn't resist it and fell asleep.

When Nathan Shaw came back and saw that the lights were still on in the room, his heart inexplicably felt warm, and he unconsciously lightened his footsteps.

Pushing open the door, at first glance, he saw a box on the crystal round table. The square box was tied with pink ribbons.

He walked over and opened the box. Inside was a six-inch fruit cake.

The cake was very ordinary and could be bought in any cake shop. If it was only like this, Nathan Shaw might not even look at it.

When he saw the lines of words written on the cake, Nathan Shaw felt as if something had hit his heart, and his resentment for the day instantly dissipated.

This woman could easily affect his emotions.

He walked over and scooped the woman who was sleeping with the mobile phone into her arms. He pinched her nose to call out to her, "Sisi, get up and tell me what is going on with this cake?"
