Chapter 37 Inexplicable Hostility

"Ten million?"

This time, even Grace Thomas opened her mouth wide in disbelief.

Sierra Moore scratched her head in embarrassment. She glanced at Nathan and said ambiguously, "There's no way around itsomeone is convenient to use, but he is just a bit too expensive."

When Grace Thomas heard this, she almost spat out the wine in her mouth. Her ambiguous eyes swept over the two of them. She thought to herself, "Could it be that someone she was talking about was the famous Mr. Shaw?"

Well, the word "use" was really intriguing.

This time, Ryan Holland completely understood. He did not continue to challenge someone's bottom line. Instead, he said to her with a deeper meaning, "Yes, you should return this money."

George Young didn't know the special meaning of this, so he said to her recklessly, "Although ten million is not a small sum, if you urgently need money, I can lend it to you first."

Sierra Moore opened her mouth wide in shock.

She thought to herself, "Sure enough, the friends of rich people are also rich people?"

He was as perfectly calm and unwavering when the words "ten million" came from his mouth.

"But, I don't have that much money to pay you back," Sierra Moore said as if she had stepped on cotton.

"It doesn't matter." George Young still wanted to say something, but a black shadow suddenly flew over. He hurriedly reached out to catch it to avoid being hit.

"Eat something and shut up," Nathan Shaw said with a clear warning look.

When Ryan Holland saw this, he immediately smiled insincerely and copied Nathan Shaw's words. "Eat your oranges!"

Seeing that Nathan Shaw was about to go insane, George Young no longer provoked him. Naturally, he would not eat oranges. He directly threw it at Ryan Holland to block his mouth.

Although the money was not borrowed, Sierra Moore was still very grateful. "Dr. Young, you are really a good person." Her voice was gentle. When she looked at George Young, even her eyebrows were smiling, which made Nathan Shaw so angry that he was nearly beside himself with rage.

Everyone here was not someone she could afford to offend, so Grace Thomas cleverly kept her mouth shut. Ryan Holland saw that there was no chance to watch a show here, so he hugged the beauty and went out for singing.

Because of Nathan's dark face, the room was shrouded in low pressure.

Sierra Moore drank a lot of water out of boredom. After sitting for a while, she had already filled her stomach with water. Just as she was about to excuse herself to go to the toilet, the door to the private room was pushed open. Avery Yates held Steven Jones's arm as they entered together.

For the sake of her homesickness, she often paid attention to domestic news on the Internet while her stay in France and in entertainment magazines occasionally. Therefore, she had some understanding of this famous star in the country.

Avery Yates debuted very early. In her early years, she was quite famous in the modeling industry. Occasionally, she would act as the female lead of some MV. However, she had been unknown for many years until three years ago when she canceled her contract with her previous entertainment company and switched to a new agency.

Not long after, she accepted a script and acted as the female lead. It was also the TV series that was full of stars that made her famous instantly in the entertainment circle.

From then on, her film schedule had been endless. In less than a year, she had become a popular first-rate star.

One year later, with an opportunity, she suddenly turned to the movie field. This time, her transformation was also brilliant. The first piece of work was widely praised. Slowly, she gained a certain level of popularity in the world.

The peak of her career still dated back to about a year ago.

At that time, under the arrangement of the entertainment company, she participated in a Hollywood movie. Although it was only a small role, it was this role that made her stand out on the screen of the world.

After this film was released, the response was very good. The film critics had a very high evaluation of her and successfully made her popularity rise again and again.

Half a year ago, she won the Best Actress Award, and her value rose sharply.

Now, she was both good at film and television. Coupled with her international reputation, she was already considered one of the best among domestic female celebrities. She was at the top of the big shots in the circle.

And this was not the only thing that caught the attention of the majority of fans.

Back then, Avery Yates broke the contract with her old agency and signed on with a new agency, which was the film company under Skyreach Corporation.

It was obvious that the company had been supporting her all these years, and the ambiguous relationship between her and Nathan Shaw was what everyone was talking about.

Some media even said that the two had been secretly in a relationship for a long time, and they had already met their parents, and their marriage was a matter of time.

In fact, Sierra Moore did not know this before, but she had nothing to do at home during those days, so she wandered on a certain forum and happened to see Avery Yates's success story.

Because the post on the forum mentioned Nathan Shaw, she took a closer look.

Seeing Sierra Moore here, Avery Yates was also very surprised. Although it was the first time they met, she had already guessed who this woman was. The surprise in her eyes flashed and was concealed very well by her.

Avery Yates had just come from the cocktail party, still in her evening gown. The blue mermaid dress she wore, adorned with sequins, highlighted her beauty like a mermaid princess gliding through the sea.

Upon seeing Nathan Shaw, Avery Yates released Steven Jones's arm. Her waist swayed as she walked toward him. She sat in the middle of him and Sierra Moore. She naturally and intimately held his arm and affectionately called him, "Nate".

Sierra Moore was eager to stay away from the bastard. Seeing her sit over, she quickly moved away from the two of them. However, how Avery Yates called Nathan Shaw "Nate" just now in her ears made her slightly absent-minded.

Nathan Shaw let her hold his arm and tilted his head to look at her. Her slightly tipsy makeup was just proper. Her cheeks were red. It was obvious that she had drunk some wine. It was difficult to hide the tiredness between her eyebrows.

Noticing that a look of confusion swept past her eyes, Nathan Shaw asked, "Since you are tired, why don't you go back and rest?"

When this voice stopped in Sierra Moore's ears, she felt it was extremely gentle.

Avery Yates enjoyed his indulgence. She rested her head on his shoulder and said in a spoiled tone, "I heard from Mr. Jones that you were here, so I came over to take a look."

Hearing this, George Young lowered his head and looked at the man lying on his lap. His fingers unconsciously fiddled with his hair. "Do you have fun at the reception?"

Steven Jones shook his head, not interested. "They are all a bunch of boring people. However, the organizer spent a lot of money tonight to invite Avery Yates. Although the party is boring, there are many beautiful women. The male compatriots tonight are having a feast for the eyes!"

George Young's eyes flickered behind the lens, but he did not say anything else.

When Steven Jones came in, Ryan Holland also noticed him.

When Ryan Holland saw Avery Yates hugging Nathan Shaw as soon as she came in, who was afraid that others would not know that she was favored, his lips curled into an unknown smile, his gaze occasionally sweeping over the three as if he was watching a good show.

After the song ended, Grace Thomas put down the microphone and came over to greet Avery Yates. In this circle, no one would give up any opportunity for fame and fortune.

This was a private occasion, and Avery Yates did not act like a celebrity. She just leaned on Nathan Shaw and chatted with him.

Seeing Nathan Shaw lower his head to talk to Avery Yates, Sierra Moore frowned and suddenly felt a little uncomfortable.

Perhaps because the temperature in the private room was too high, Sierra Moore felt that her brain was not normal. She kept recalling the words "you have to be responsible for me" that Nathan Shaw had once said.

She thought to herself, "You want me to be responsible for you, but you find another one and play romance with her!"

Sierra Moore felt a moment of suffocation and suddenly stood up, her movements so great that even the people around her looked at her.

"I'm going to the bathroom." Sierra Moore's face turned red. She announced awkwardly and hurriedly escaped from this depressing atmosphere.

Seeing the bastard chatting with another woman would actually make her heartache. She thought this was too strange!

Sierra Moore washed her face and felt that her mind was a lot clearer. She began to talk to herself in the mirror again, "I must have been with the bastard for a long time, and I become abnormal as him now."

She looked at herself in the mirror. In a daze, she wondered if Nathan Shaw had been too good to her recently, which was why she misunderstood.

A man was leaning against the wall of the corridor, looking down at the cigarette at the end of his finger, and his expression could not be seen under the dim corridor light.

When Sierra Moore came out of the bathroom and saw him, she was very surprised. "Mr. Holland?"

She couldn't help but start to fantasize, "He is standing at the door of the female washroom. Could he be waiting for me to go back with him?"

The way he looked at her was a little cold. Such obvious hostility made Sierra Moore confused.

Ryan Holland took the cigarette in his mouth and said to her directly, "Miss Moore, to be honest, I really don't like you."

Sierra Moore thought to herself, "I know you don't like me, but you are too direct!"

Sierra Moore looked at Ryan Holland in shock. She did not understand why this man, who had only seen her twice, hated her so much.

Ryan Holland saw her reaction. Although he didn't know if she really remembered him or was pretending, there were still some things that he had to make clear to her.

He said, "You may not remember it. The last time we met at KTV, it was not our first meeting."

"What do you want to say?" Ryan Holland's hostility was very obvious. Sierra Moore felt as though something was on the verge of breaking through from her memory.

Ryan Holland took a puff and said, "I didn't expect him to really let you stay by his side. This is not a good thing. In other words, I hope that you can leave him. I don't want to see my friend fall into the hands of the same woman twice. Do you get it?"

His expression was very cautious. It did not seem like he was joking. This also made Sierra Moore believe that they had indeed met before.

Moreover, Nathan Shaw had also said something similar, but at that time, Sierra Moore could no longer remember whether he said she had seen him or knew him.

Her mind was a little confused now, and the truth seemed to be on the verge of coming out, but it always seemed to be stuck at the most crucial point.

Sierra Moore had a hunch that she would not like the truth.

Ryan Holland flicked the cigarette ash, took out something from his pocket, and handed it to her. "This is my business card. If you think about it and want to go back to France, you can find me at any time. Youd better mind your behavior."

Sierra Moore held the business card in her hand and felt inexplicably wronged. It seemed that he really hated her.

On the way back to the room, Sierra Moore wondered if she should ask Nathan Shaw about what happened six years ago. She accidentally heard someone mention her name and stopped.
