Chapter 4 Never See You Again

Ten million was indeed not a small sum. Thinking that he would refuse, Sierra Moore actually heaved a sigh of relief.

They were originally two strangers who had nothing to do with each other. If they were forced to be together because of money, she thought it would be too unfair to him.

However, when the man heard this number, his face sank.

There was ridicule in his eyes as he asked her in a cold voice, "Do you think you are worth ten million?"

These words were so harsh that the people sitting at the nearby tables turned to look at them.

Originally, the women around there were very jealous that Sierra Moore could sit next to such a wonderful man. Now that they heard this conversation, the hearts of the women immediately calmed down. Some even said some unpleasant words unrestrainedly.

"Look at her! It turned out that she had come out to sell. Ten million was really too much. Such an exorbitant price! She thought that she was one of the celebrities in the newspapers and magazines!"

Those unbearable words and disdainful gazes made Sierra Moore feel as if she was sitting on pins and needles.

She wanted to get up and leave, but the man was one step faster than her, leaving only 600 euros on the table, which made her feel even more embarrassed.

Sierra Moore quickly paid the bill and left. She felt the man's gaze just now was very uncomfortable.

She did not really want his money, but she was at a dead-end and she had already said that she would pay him back!

She thought to herself, "Moreover, didn't he find it absurd that he just suddenly proposed marriage?"

This time, they split apart on somewhat bad terms. Sierra Moore quickly forgot about this person.

Her life was the same as the past month. Jack Lee seemed to have faded from her life, and she was worried about the huge debt and did not have time to think about any romance.

Every day, she would travel among various banquets, but she could not find a single person who was willing to lend her a helping hand.

She thought that the two of them would never meet again, but she did not expect to receive a call from him again.

"Bring your state ID or drivers license. I'll pick you up."

After hanging up the phone, Sierra Moore was completely confused. She would never forget the man's voice even if she just heard it once, but she didn't understand what the man meant.

She wondered whether he had accepted her conditions.

At the place where they agreed to meet on the phone, Sierra Moore got into a black Bentley. She suddenly felt uneasy when she did not see the man in the car.

The sky outside was gray, and she felt that today would not be a good day.

The man in the passenger seat looked easy to get along with. After she got in the car, he smiled at her, "Let me introduce myself. My name is Ryan Holland. I am Mr. Shaw's exclusive lawyer. Mr. Shaw asked me to pick you up at the airport."

Mr. Shaw! It turned out the man's surname was Shaw.

The car drove all the way to the airport in New York Airport. Ryan Holland accompanied her to the plane and flew to Las Vegas.

When they arrived in Las Vegas, it was just in the morning when a car arrived at the airport to pick them up.

After getting into the car, Ryan Holland took out a document from his briefcase and handed it to her. "Take a look at this agreement first. If you have no problems, just sign it."

Sierra Moore was surprised, thinking to herself, "Is it the agreement to repay debts?"

Sierra Moore took it over and looked down at the agreement. She became stunned once she saw the first several words on the agreement. Her lips trembled and she almost could not utter a complete sentence. "This is the divorce agreement?"

Ryan Holland smiled and nodded, "Mr. Shaw said that he would buy your marriage certificate for ten million. After you sign it, you two each no longer have any ties."

They two each could marry whoever they like and no longer have any ties.

These words seemed to weigh tons, smashing into Sierra Moore's chest and making her feel like she could not breathe.

She thought to herself, "To divorce before even getting married, what kind of humiliation is this?"

She was sure that they did not know each other before, and the man did not seem to have a good impression of her.

He had brought her all the way to Las Vegas, and now he was using ten million to exchange for this divorce agreement. She wondered his reason.

Seeing through her doubts, Ryan Holland continued to convey the man's intention, "Mr. Shaw said that if you go back on your word now, it's still not too late. I can book a plane ticket to send you back immediately, but the ten million he promised you..."

Upon hearing the ten million, Sierra Moore immediately made up her mind, "I am willing to sign it."

She had never done anything for her family in the past eighteen years.

She had lost everything, and now she only wanted to protect Moore Family's dignity.

Seeing that she was so insistent, Ryan Holland narrowed his bright eyes but did not say anything.

The car drove to the local Marriage Registry. Sierra Moore got out of the car and saw the man leaning against the car on the side of the road. He was smoking. This was the third time they had met.

Ryan Holland then got out of the car and walked over to whisper something into the man's ears. The man nodded and threw the cigarette butt that had been burnt to the tip of his finger on the ground and extinguished it with the sole of his shoes.

At this point, Sierra Moore suddenly felt frightened.

On one side was Moore Family's dignity, and on the other side was a strange marriage. This burden was pressed on her tender shoulders, and it seemed a little too heavy to her.

She stood by the side of the road with her bag in her arms. Her figure looked too thin.

When the man came over, Sierra Moore subconsciously took a few steps back. The first two meetings were not pleasant. She still remembered his indifferent and sarcastic expression.

This obvious resistance made the man frown in dissatisfaction. He reached out and grabbed her arms, "You can't regret it now."

Sierra Moore was afraid and wanted to run away, but she couldn't resist the man, so she was eventually dragged in by him to complete the formalities.

The staff at the registration office had never seen such a couple before.

The man was as cold as ice, and the woman was terrified to the point where she could only say yes. The key was that her eyes were red and swollen from crying as if she had been forced to marry.

Throughout the entire process, including taking photos, Sierra Moore's eyes were lifeless as if she had no souls.

In the end, when they signed the contract, the staff at the scene couldn't tolerate anymore and finally asked in English, "Miss, are you willing to?"

The meaning of these words was very obvious, and the staff almost said that she would help Sierra Moore call the police.

When the man heard this, his expression darkened instantly. He slammed the pen on the table with a sullen face and got up to leave.

When Sierra Moore saw that he was angry, she was afraid that the ten million would disappear. She quickly wrote down her name, pushed the chair away, and rushed to catch him up. In her panic, she even forgot to look at the man's name.

When she came out of the building, the man walked in front, and Sierra Moore followed him with her head lowered.

She watched him enter her sports car and disappear in the blink of an eye. From beginning to end, he did not look back at her, nor did he say a word to her.

The car that she had taken at the airport was still waiting in place, and Ryan Holland was left behind to deal with the aftermath.

Ryan Holland walked over to Sierra Moore, handed over a plane ticket and an envelope with a check, and conveyed the man's message at the same time.

"Mr. Shaw said that you should leave New York as soon as possible after you go back. Do not appear in front of him from now on. Otherwise, bear the consequences!"

The car left, leaving Sierra Moore standing alone by the roadside.

It was clearly July, but she felt cold all over her body. She originally wanted to ask the man's name, but everything was meaningless.

Just let it go.

Since they would never meet again in the future, what was the point of asking?

Sierra Moore thought to herself, "I'll just leave New York after I settle the debts!"

Nothing left in New York was worth her nostalgia.

Sierra Moore took a taxi to the airport. When she returned to New York, it was drizzling and the sky was as gray as her gloomy mood.

In the next half a month, Sierra Moore asked the accounting firm to calculate all of Moore Clan's assets. With the assets and the ten million that she had exchanged for her marriage, she successfully repaid the debts left behind by her aunt and uncle-in-law.

The rest of the money was given to Moore Clan's former employees to make up for their wages and discharge fees.

After doing all this, Sierra Moore found that she became homeless and penniless.

Fortunately, her aunt paid her school fees in advance so that she could complete her studies and would not live on the streets.

The school was going to start soon. Sierra Moore tidied up her mood and booked a flight back to Provence. However, before she left, she wanted to see someone.

Outside Lee Villa, Sierra Moore paced back and forth for a long time.

Lee Villa was not far from where her aunt and uncle lived. She used to come here often since she was familiar with this place as if it were her own home. But now, she did not even dare to knock on the door.

In the past ten years, everyone had witnessed how well Jack Lee had treated her.

Her aunt had always said that as long as Jack Lee was here, she would be the happiest princess in the world.

She knew that the incident had dealt a huge blow to Jack Lee. It was understandable that he wanted to avoid her, but she wondered why he didn't make a phone call when such a big incident happened to Moore Family.

Even if they were just ordinary friends now, she thought that he should have made a phone call and asked.

In this one month or so, it was as if Jack Lee had disappeared into thin air without a trace.

She was not the kind of girl who would pester him. However, they had been together for so many years. Even if she had to leave now, she had to at least say goodbye to him!

Sierra Moore finally made up her mind to press the doorbell. The nanny's face appeared on the automatic iron door outside. Sierra Moore smiled and greeted, "Ms. Wendy, is Jackie at home?"

When Wendy saw that it was Sierra Moore, her eyes were a little panicked and her smile was no longer as friendly as before. She only vaguely said to Sierra Moore, "Hello, Miss Moore! Mr. Lee is not at home. You should come back another day!"

The smile froze on Sierra Moore's face. Wendy's previous enthusiasm suddenly turned cold, which made Sierra Moore feel embarrassed. She knew that she couldn't be with Jack Lee, but she did not expect to be rejected.

Sierra Moore's temper started to flare up. She pressed the doorbell again. She had to see Jack Lee. She had to ask him personally. Even if they broke up, she wondered how they couldn't be friends.

"Miss Moore, why are you still here? Mr. Lee is really not at home. You should leave quickly!"

Seeing Wendy's face appear in the video, Sierra Moore put away her smile, "Wendy, I want to see Jackie. Can I trouble you to pass a message to him?"

Wendy reluctantly agreed. Sierra Moore said, "Please tell Jackie that I will wait for him at Heavenly Heart Park in front. I will wait until he arrives."

That day, all the passers-by saw that a girl was sitting on the swing in the park and had not left for a whole day.

When it was dark, rain began to fall from the sky. The dim orange lights on the side of the road lit up, making the lonely figure of the girl grow longer.

For one day and one night, it was the longest time she had spent, and she did not know when the rain had stopped.

When the first ray of sunlight shone on her body in the morning, Sierra Moore suddenly smiled. She laughed so hard that tears almost fell. She walked to the intersection and looked in the direction of the Lee Family. She said, "Goodbye, Jackie!"

She really couldn't bear to part with him, but this was the only way.

See you! And never see you again!
